Well there's this guy who's handle is "slush" I believe this is his forum.  He also runs the oldest pooled bitcoin mining pool according to his website.  When I say mine "here" that's what i mean.  I guess its culture shock.  Apparently this forum is WAY popular with all sorts of miners unaware of slush's pool?  (The second drop down option in guiminer mind you.)

Anyways.

Point me somewhere if you will and I will give them a try.  I just switched everything over "here" (apparently I shouldn't say that though) so I plan on mining for at least several days to see the results.  This is mainly a hobby for me so loss of income isn't going to make me upset over such a short period, I just want to be close the mining calculators estimate of ~coin/day if I can be!

Excuse me for not clicking the link.

What kind of bets I might take that and let you know how it works out.  I have coins to spare, is hobby, not anything I care about lol.

That's just weird coming from a hero member on here.  I had assumed people here, mine here....

Well really though the jury is still out.  But I was earning .5 coin per day at bitclockers which takes a huge bite, I really should see similar numbers if think at least.  Not poorer here.

So I am new here but .17 unconfirmed bitcoins seems a bit low for my 3000 mhash or so.  I was making .5 coin per day @bitclockers and they eat 25% of profits.  Shouldn't I see better return?  Could somebody break down for me the dashboard menu items here, I'm just not getting how it works out unfortunately...

SHOW ME THE MONEY lol

What does anybody think that the odds are that new production of bitcoins will become harder in the next few months?

I say its probably fairly high that it will become increasingly difficult and possibly "imposibru" for the small miner in the next year.  But I also say there are so many alternate crypto-currencies (even as of just right now) and so much apparent momentum by all the bitcoin semi-profit, semi-hobbyists out there that it won't be a big deal.

We will just mine the next new thing lol. Chill out!

I don't think gpu mining can be written off just yet, especially for people like the poster who will need to be running the equipment regardless.

I would say if you have 10,000 - 15,000 to spend, definitely budget in a change of address, all it takes is one unfortunate incident and you will lose all of your progress.  Can you imagine explaining what the total value of your equipment was to an insurer?  Even if they believed you they wouldn't want to pay out if the time came, reducing their commitment one way or another.

I am interested to see how this project of yours is coming.  It seems to me that this forum would be a good place to buy mining hardware, fyi.

I don't know if it worth the "wear and tear" on the phone...  I often wonder if it worth it to overclock graphics cards for the hashrate benefit either.  What kind of a probability is it that you will win the reward mining solo on your phone, or that you will notice if you do...?
