You people obviously have no idea how asset valuation works. If people believed the price would be 300 in a few days, it would be 300 now. The current price is the best reflection of its future value.

Well for all the plusses, all the hype, all the talk of global change. There is ONE SMALL chink in the bitcoin Armour. For all the zero transactions, anonymity, security etc etc
IT IS TOO DAMN SLOW !!
Unless bitcoin can match paypal/credit card for speed of use, all the pluses will be forgotten as joe public is left waiting for 10 mins, 2 hours or even the next day wondering if his/her bitcoin transaction has confirmed.
Seriously, in light of the massive surge in bitcoin, currently driven by hype and stock broker mentality buying and speculating. IF bitcoin is ever to take over paypal and its other cronies, we need to be as quick.
Or, it will forever flounder as an experiment, great for blackmarket, some merchants will offer it but...that will be its zenith reached.
The whole concept of online transactions is INSTANT. SPEED, ONE CLICK...JOB DONE.
Bitcoin cannot offer this as the current rate of how the block chain works.

I agree its not just swipe and go but just like anything the speed will increase, dial up vs high speed Internet. and no you have not done your home work it is more like four to fifteen minutes. mostly about 8 min for confirmation.
also paypal is the most frustrating platform ever!!!! especially for merchants like me. good god all mighty I hate paypal they are the worst to work with and you have limits on how much you can withdraw from your account per month. its a horrible system.
and credit card ..... relay!?!? you like racking up debt and paying an 8-20% fee on everything you purchase!??? and paying for the card in the first place?? AND the sales tax to top it off. pay the minimum every month and you could end up pay 2x the price of that flat screen TV. also someone could still your credit card WAY easier than your blockchain and passkey.
I can see that they do have some benefits but they have more disadvantages than advantages |

HI, NOOB QUESTION, how do i cancel a coinbase order??? so I ordered 10 BTCcoins yesterday when it was 236.00 per coin and I was think I might cancel that one. you know how they are five days out usually. like i bout yesterday and i wont get my coins and the bank is not charged until the day they are transfered. I think they wont come till Monday or Tuesday. any advise on this? I don't see a cancel button or it could be right in my face IDK.
any help would be appreciated. thank you

From past trends after an MtGox lag price drop, people get skittish and kinda feel things out for a few days. We will have that going into the weekend.
The biggest question will be, what happens Monday morning.

get out of gox! i use bitstamp cuz it follows mt gox, sometimes by ten to twenty. so i know when to buy and when to sell and ive only seen it sorrta down (crash) once ....that was today when the noobs wanted to cash out. i sold a few at the midd but kept 90%of my coins. clonipin and wine help the nervs and the mind...took a deep breath a realized that just a few short weeks ago i was jumping with joy at the top of 100 so this thing could and has reched 260 and it will again maybe faster maybe slower but it will.
marketplace money dicused it today on the air. good/bad press is still press and more and more people will wake up to bitcoins and more and more money will flow in. 260 will be cheep coins in a couple of months. just saying. |

What is this comeback you speak of? Was this post made at $197, before it went back to $150?
I'm not trying to say its crashing or coming back. All I know is that I haven't sold one bit of my bitcoins today, and I hope the decision being made is the right one!
i have all my coins too...during this crash (that seems to last at least for a few hours) I only drank tea and relaxed. bitcoin was/is/will be much more than this day I sold 5 just to stop the madness....how does this make sense? well i wanted money so i could putt in a buy wall of some sort i saw people starting to dump money into a bid price so i wanted to help them so that it would not be so crazy. i probably lost money on the deal but we gotta stop being sheep and panic buy sell buy sell. f that. im still nervous if i did the right thing. i have many coins and saw it slide at 245 but i told my self no! do not fall for it. at 150 i went and cash deposited 500 for more coins. ate 162 i bought 10 more coins. I have to think positive and the long term im not in here to get rich overnight. im in here for the long hall and people need to take a look and realize bitcoin is the next best thing! going revolutinize the world more than the INTERNET did. this thing is real and it is going to work, you just have to hold and not loose sight of your true vision. |
