561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Trading experts, what are your toughts on Burst? on: March 18, 2018, 02:14:48 AM
As I know Burst is the only coin can be mined by free space on HDD, maybe it's the easy coin can be mined at the moment Smiley. Because it's very easy to mine without investing too much money like other crypto so I don't think it'll be a good choice to invest in and there are no chance for Burst to reach to 100m$. LOL. You're a dreamer guy Smiley. There are a lot of other choices but why you have to choose Burst, a low potential crypto?

No, it has not been easy to mine it. Difficulty is in an all time high and the capacity pointed to mine Burst is also reaching beyond all time highs. This alone makes it worth it to buy Burst at these prices because it is very undervalued.

By the time the PoCC releases the Dymaxion, Burst will not be considered a "low potential coin" by the general cryptocurrency community and least of all, you.

Anyhow if any of you know what is happening in Burstnation, please share it.
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Trading experts, what are your toughts on Burst? on: March 17, 2018, 03:27:18 AM
Hello my fellow forumites, I am lost. Although I am optimistic with Burst's future basing on their roadmap, I am not too optimistic in the short term with the dump happening right in the time of releasing Burst wallet version 2.0.0.

I think theres an intentional dump to keep the price down done by the people from Burstnation. How influential are they really in the Burst ecosystem?
563  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cease and desist order on Genesis mining in South Carolina on: March 17, 2018, 03:20:40 AM
it is not closed because it is bad

it is closed because it is a security

Industrial mining is profitable so why should shares in a mining co. not be profitable? The government does not filter out the bad actors, they prohibit all blockchain securities because they can be owned anonymously

In the end crypto investors end up with unregulated black or grey market junk while the good companies are owned by Wall Street....

The word bad is too much of a general term. But I would say they are "bad" because of false advertising. These contracts are not profitable and they dont benefit the buyer. What it really does is benefit Genesis because they are hedging their bets by selling all the risk to the buyers in the form of "mining contracts".
564  Economy / Economics / Re: if bitcoin cant scale how does it reach 1 million in 2020? on: March 17, 2018, 03:09:39 AM
But put yourself in the shoes of the 2011 BTC enthusiast. If someone from 2018 went back in time to tell him that BTC would go up to $20,000, how do you think would he react?

Yeah, the same reactions we are having here. It may not be $1 million by 2020 but it might be on 2030.
565  Economy / Economics / Re: Hal Finney already knew BTC had the potential to be $10,000,000 a coin in 2009 on: March 17, 2018, 03:02:09 AM
I think that was all theoretical from Hal Finney's part? Was he an economist? No, he was a computer scientist who was pulling numbers from the air because he assumed that just because BTC is a deflationary currency, it would have no direction to go but up.

But that might not really the case. Look at gold and other precious metals.
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burstcoin | Efficient HDD Mining | New Version 1.3.6 | Assets | CFs on: March 17, 2018, 02:53:08 AM
[RELEASE] The new BRS 2.0.0 core wallet - the foundation to it all.
Release statement by the @PoC_Consortium: https://www.burstcoin.ist/2018/03/15/the-poc-consortium-releases-core-wallet-v2-0-0/
Download: https://github.com/PoC-Consortium/burstcoin/releases/tag/2.0.0

Have you tried the wallet? What looks new about it?

I think there wont be too much changes, but it will be smoother and faster to use since the PoCC has removed all the useless lines of code.
567  Economy / Economics / Re: Shitcoins are necessary for the economy on: March 15, 2018, 03:18:29 AM
Yeah, they are very necessary, if you have the need to gamble lol. But if you dont, then dont trap yourself into thinking that ICOs will solve real world problems today. They wont.
568  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cease and desist order on Genesis mining in South Carolina on: March 15, 2018, 03:08:23 AM
USA shooting themselves in the foot IMHO

soon only "free" countries like Russia or Iran can do ICO's and issue securities on the blockchain (and by free I mean not under US jurisdiction)

so basically money will flow outside of USA. The tokens of course are ETH20 and do not care about borders.

US citizens, no longer able to buy good quality blockchain securities, will have to buy fishy ones from Russia. But maybe they won't be so fishy after all? Uncle Putin is pampering blockchain for a reason, he possesses wisdom the three letter agencys do not possess.  Roll Eyes

Soon window makers will get a cease and desist because windows allow you to use daylight without having your own sun, they generate passive income and must be securities.... Cool

No. We also could be overestimating "blockchain technology" and getting ahead of ourselves. Maybe we even are circle jerking ourselves to delusion lol.

But whoever's opinion is right doesnt matter. Its the market who decides if an ICO makes it.
569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BURST SPECULATION, the next big thing [Tangle technology inside] on: March 15, 2018, 03:03:21 AM
On the technical side Burst is doing very good, but on the trading side, dont look at the market lol. Burst is one of the worst performers compared to the rest of the altcoins.

If someone asked for some investment advice about Burst, I would say "dont buy, but watch". I still trust Burst will make it one day.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: March 14, 2018, 04:01:10 AM
Special announcement for the miners out there. Get out of Burstnation pools, they are in a meltdown as far as their connection with Burst. Focus, one of their "leaders" has already closed his Burst assets. They know they have lost and they cant use Burst as their milking cow anymore.

PoCC pools will pay 0.5% fees to miners!!!

  • BRS 2.0.0 is coming! To celebrate the arrival of our new gem, all PoCC-operated pools will have 0.5% negative fees from March 15th to April 15th. That's right: we add 0.5% for the miners to every block forged by our pools. Enjoy!

571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies Domino Effect! on: March 14, 2018, 03:53:06 AM
What will be your prediction of how market will become in the next 10 years? as of now their are almost 2,000 cryptocurrencies in the market. will it be increasing in numbers? let me know your opinion.

All of them except for a few will continue on living. The rest will die, its simple economics. Its impossible for all of them to increase in market value especially when the newbs who buy shitcoins start to get smarter in choosing which are good and which are scams.
572  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] OpenBazaar - A Decentralized Market Platform on: March 14, 2018, 03:29:38 AM
BTC commerce flourishes more when dealing in illegal substances or drugs.

Is there any developer out there willing to fork OpenBazaar and bring it back to its roots as a decentralized darknet market?

If you did not know, OpenBazaar was forked from a project called DarkMarket who were also the developers behind the DarkWallet.

573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burst weekly report! The future is bright! on: March 14, 2018, 03:17:19 AM
Put one eye on March 15 for Burst's latest update. It will be the rebirth of the platform as a real competitor against other platforms like NEO.

By the time the Dymaxion is officially released by version 2.2.0 in the 2nd quarter of this year, you will fully see the potential of Burst not as a cryptocurrency, but as a channel for IOT.

Weekly Burst Report #27

  • We are finally in the final stages of BRS 2.0.0 core version development. “We are confident for a release on March 15th”, confirms PoC Consortium developer rico666. As the final tasks are currently being worked on, the PoC Consortium is happy to be able to provide the community with this new software. Starting from next week, Burst will have a completely refactored core wallet worthy of being the foundation upon which the Dymaxion will be built.

  • Please take in consideration that the quicker the 2.0.0 version is going to be adopted by the community, the sooner the upcoming forks will happen – don’t forget to update your wallet next week!
The release of BRS 2.0.0 will be a great step for Burst, but it is only the beginning of the process. Expect many more improvements in the following months. As rico666 jests: “now the only question is how fast a BRS 2.0.1 will follow!”

  • We now have a functional PoC1 to PoC2 plot converter for Linux/Unix (probably working with MacOS too). The converter can do both in-place (remaining on the same plot) as well as copy on write (from disk A to disk B). “As predicted it’s IO intensive, not CPU intensive. One CPU core can easily convert 5 disks in parallel”, according to rico666. This software is currently only there for testing, and as reference for other implementations – do not start converting your plots now, because mining softwares cannot interpret them yet.

  • Blackpawn released the beta 2 version of his TurboPlotter, the “fastest and easiest way to plot drives for Burst mining”. It includes many new features: support for resuming, end of plotting summary screen, scrolling GPU and drive lists, bug fixes and minor improvements.

  • The Burstcoinist released a new interview with bold and Herscht, the two minds behind the PoC Consortium’s pool software. Learn more about them and their projects in this exclusive “behind the scenes” sneak peek!
574  Economy / Service Discussion / Cease and desist order on Genesis mining in South Carolina on: March 13, 2018, 03:10:52 AM
This could become a precedent for other states in the US to follow and order their own cease and desist orders on Genesis and other cloudmining sites that are selling contracts.

Maybe the regulators should also investigate them for false advertising lol.

Crypto Miner Genesis Hit With Cease-and-Desist Order

  • Through the contracts, buyers essentially purchase an amount of computing power over a period of time that is hosted elsewhere, as opposed to owning mining hardware themselves. In the Commission's view, they "constitute investment contracts and are thus securities" under South Carolina law.

  • Both firms were ordered to stop doing business in South Carolina, according to the document. Additionally, both Genesis and Swiss Gold Global were permanently barred from offering any securities in the state in the future. That said, the companies have the opportunity to a request a hearing with state officials to present their side.

  • The move represents the latest cryptocurrency investment-related cease-and-desist order to come out of a U.S. state regulator in recent weeks.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A case for Burst's Proof Of Capacity on: March 13, 2018, 02:54:07 AM
This may be taken as good news for miners but it should also serve as a warning. Its now visible to the EU that proof of work mining should be controlled and to quote the article "that it is subject to EU rules regarding energy efficiency, the power sector and greenhouse gases emissions."

Proof of Capacity is the future of mining or will be, at the minimum, be a big part of it.

EU Can't Ban Bitcoin Mining Over Energy Concerns, Official Says
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: March 13, 2018, 02:32:32 AM

I think I will do it. At least I will try to do it. But I already tried to sell some of my had on eBay. Now easy to sell at good price!.any idea for eBay alternative?

Craigslist? But you should still let the people in /r/burstcoin know about it. I have seen two people sell their equipment over there, and they were sold within days.

There are still a lot of people looking for cheap hard drives to add to their farms. If I were you I would wait until the end of the year before selling them. You might sell them for a better price once Burst is $0.50 per coin, or you can start mining again yourself.

But there are only %11 of the total supply left to be mined. And when dymaxion gets on air, we won't be able to collect fees neither. (Or very little) who'll need all those HDD's then?

That's the only thing I am worried about burst now.

Then that would mean that Burst would have to increase in value for the miners to stay in the network, and it will. I think the PoCC has something they are playing very close to their chest. Once the Dymaxion is released and marketing starts, thats when we start connecting the dots.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burstcoin | Efficient HDD Mining | New Version 1.3.6 | Assets | CFs on: March 13, 2018, 02:25:29 AM
But in this case BURST is undervalued in X10 times at least for example, I brought BURST from the exchanges because there is no time to play on the waves and is now waiting for what time will tell. Smiley

is this project still on?

Of course it is. It has one of the most active team of developers in Github thats why I bring up the Dogecoin argument. No offense to Dogecoin holders, but why is it valued on $400,000,000 with no development and Burst which has an ambitious plan valued only at $50,000,000?

That would only mean that the market has not adjusted to what has high value and what has low value. But it will adjust. Be patient.
578  Other / Archival / Re: SELL Verified BITTREX POLONIEX BINANCE BITFINEX with email 100% guarantee on: March 12, 2018, 02:54:12 AM
Isnt this illegal? It would be better to sell those accounts in the darknet where it would be useful for money launderers and other criminals than selling it to the newbs here in this forum lol.

579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burstcoin | Efficient HDD Mining | New Version 1.3.6 | Assets | CFs on: March 12, 2018, 02:48:13 AM
Network Size since January has increased more than doubled from 140,000 to 300,000 of TB. The price, on the contrary, decreased 4 times from 0.12$ to 0.03$, taking into account the January pump, as well as the price is within 0.025$ to 0.05$

The market is very inefficient, but it always finds a way back to efficiency. A good example is Dogecoin. It is now in 36th place with a more than $400,000,000 market value. There is almost no development behind it and yet it still maintains a high market value.

There are more coins like that in the top 100. Do you really think the market will stay that way? No. The investment in all of those "dying" coins will transfer to better projects. It is Darwinism at its best.

Be patient. Burst's future value will surprise you.
