Thank you so much devs.

All the best for your project. I hope this project will survive all the initial challenges and end up soaring.
562  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Invest now to double your bitcoin on: June 24, 2017, 05:36:11 PM
Yes, there are many offers. Too good to be true, right? So, dismiss them immediately as unreliable or outright scam. That's the first and foremost rule.

The existence of these scams continue, even staying strong, until today partly because their preying on some innocent and less-informed people oftentimes bear fruit. Easy money is also a very inviting reason why several people jump into it almost instantly.

Do not add yourself to the long list, my friend. You can easily have that big increase of your bitcoin if you hold it for several months or a few years. Patience is the key. And, yes, read a lot about it. You will keep yourself away from being a victim.

564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO 19 JULY] AVENTUS - ANTIFRAUD EVENT TICKETING ON ETHEREUM on: June 22, 2017, 03:06:53 PM
Oh great update on the bounty, so does this mean we will be posting here instead of the other ANN Thread - Event Ticketing Antifraud Solution? Or we should be posting on both ANN Threads? Hope updates will be posted here also just like the other one.

I think the instruction in the post is pretty clear, mate.

Bitcointalk Signature Campaign's First Rule is post twice per week on main Aventus thread (this one!). Meaning it is here on this new updated thread and not on the other one.

But, does it mean that those posts on the other ANN thread which were done this week will not be counted? Meaning to say, everything's back to zero from the time this update is posted? For everyone's guidance.

Thanks in advance!
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Sound Money? on: June 21, 2017, 02:02:18 PM
Well, yes bitcoin is sound money. But it has yet to perfect its system. It is still in its infant stage and is currently growing up. The future is bright though.

But when you compare it with gold, I think the throne still belongs to gold. Even before modern civilization began, gold has already its precious value. Until now, its value is still there. It will last forever.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, is a product of our modern times. A great technological invention, of course, but when everything crumbles down to the ground, it means nothing anymore. Whereas, gold remains gold.
566  Other / Off-topic / Re: How you deal with depression? on: June 21, 2017, 01:53:14 PM
First and foremost, consult a professional. It helps.

Secondly, everything's within you, my friend. Try to counter it as strongly as you can. Go to places and be with a company that gives you a lot of fun and enjoyment. Read books and articles that boost your ego. Listen to music, watch videos, do things that give you good vibes. Never dwell on bad and sad thoughts.

Personally, I would prefer to go on a travel or even a daily walk. I do a lot of hanging out with friends. When I feel uncomfortable I would leave and listen to music and read books alone.

I wish you success in your battle, mate.
567  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why are rich countries rich and poor countries poor? on: June 21, 2017, 01:46:41 PM
Of course the citizens are partly to blame. It is not all about fate. They need to think, innovate, act together as a people not as a divided group. Fate in a way because there are other countries that are actually poor in natural resources. But as a country aware of it, they should think of a way out.

But a more important point here is that the world is fast becoming a single community. Globalization is the existing idea. When a single impoverished country falters time and again, the rest of the world, especially the rich and powerful ones are partly to blame. The rich countries may actually pool together resources to save those that are experiencing too much hardship as a country.

Sadly, greed rules.

568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: June 21, 2017, 01:39:06 PM
As of now and in terms of small every-once-in-a-while transactions, cash is definitely better than bitcoin. You are right, no transaction fees are needed. That is a big deal for me. Small transactions here in my country involve cash. Even large establishments do not yet accept bitcoin as payment. But I hope that one day they will open up for bitcoin transactions.

Other countries and some other companies are now recognizing bitcoin. But they are too few for now. So, cash is much more convenient to use for now.
569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India Cracks Down on Illegal Bitcoin Activities while Considering Regulations on: June 21, 2017, 09:28:25 AM
The Indian government is currently deciding whether to regulate Bitcoin. Meanwhile, some Parliament members are working towards cracking down on illegal activities involving the digital currency.

Legitimate Bitcoin Businesses vs Pyramid Schemes

The government’s efforts could be primarily aimed at pyramid schemes, rather than legitimate bitcoin exchanges and businesses.
There was only one member of ruling party who strongly oppose bitcoin by saying it as a ponzi scheme.Pity on him.He don't have enough knowledge about bitcoin. But good news is that india has shown green flag to bitcoin suddenly. Here is the link.
    https://cointelegraph.com/news/suddenly-bitcoin-to-be-officially-legal-in-india

Yeah! Great move for India and another great milestone for bitcoin.

Wishing for more countries to open up for this great technology. Countries actually found themselves in a position to really consider the case of bitcoin with seriousness as its use is becoming widespread across the globe. Hotels, airlines, and others are slowly raising their green flags for bitcoin payments. Soon, shopping will be easier to do for bitcoin users.
570  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Muslim child soldiers in Philippines. on: June 19, 2017, 03:56:57 AM
Came upon an article while browsing FB. I knew from the title that it's gonna anger me and indeed, it was blood-curdling.

http://www.rappler.com/newsbreak/in-depth/172587-maute-child-soldiers-marawi

Quote
MARAWI CITY, Philippines – A few years ago, a young boy overheard Cayamora and Farhana Maute talking to his parents about him. The parents of the notorious Maute brothers, responsible for the raging battles in Marawi City, were offering to make him study the Koran.

It was a privilege a poor family would not pass up, especially if the offer came from such a respected clan. In the absence of formal schooling, it's common practice in communities here to organize Arabic and Islamic studies for children.

“Pangarap ng pamilya ko makapag-aral ako ng Koran (It is my family's dream to make me study the Koran),” said the boy, now in his teens. What is not clear is if his parents were also given monetary assistance.

The boy found himself relocating a few years back to the faraway town of Butig, some 50 road kilometers away from Marawi City, where he diligently learned the Koran.

But a month into the lessons, they gave him a rifle and taught him how to kill. "Lahat daw ng Christian sa buong mundo, patayin daw, 'te (They said all the Christians in the world must die)," he said.

The boy did not know about the Mautes' links to the international terrorist network Islamic State (ISIS) or anything about establishing a caliphate in Mindanao, which, according to the military, was the "grand plan" of the Maute Group.

He was told it was his specific duty to kill government soldiers.

"Tinuruan ako mag-patay ng tao. Kung di ko siya patayin, ako ang mamamatay. Ako naunahan ba (They taught me how to kill people. If I don't kill, I will die. They will kill me first)," he said.

He was once a child soldier fighting alongside the Maute brothers in his not so distant past. If he had stayed with the Mautes, he could be fighting in Marawi today, if not be dead already, he said.

When he was in Butig, he did not question the teachings. Not even in his mind. "Naniwala kami din, 'te, mga dalawang taon na 'te. Naniwala talaga 'te (I really did believe them for two years. I really believed)," he said.

His singular dream was to go to heaven and he was taught dying in battle was the way this could happen.

"Gusto ko talaga magpakamatay (I wanted to die for the cause)," he said.

Indeed, the boy recalled being happy in Butig, where he lived in a big house. He was especially fond of riding the horses when they were on a break from studying.

He mingled with the Maute children, including Omar and Abdullah, who would rise to international notoriety for the ongoing siege in Marawi City.

“Masaya ang Butig. Masaya buhay ko sa Butig (I was happy in Butig. I had a good life there),” he said.

To protect the boy, we agreed not to divulge his name and his personal details. We verified the boy's story about his stay in Butig – the hometown of Farhana Maute – by checking military reports too about the terrorist group's operations in Butig.

Brainwashed

The boy agreed to talk because he doesn’t want more children to be brainwashed by the likes of the Mautes to support a cause that he now says is “very wrong.”

That the Maute Group used child soldiers is well reported. Rappler also obtained what appears to be propaganda videos of Filipino-looking children joining adult fighters carrying the ISIS black flag. A high-ranking military officer who operated in Butig confirmed the video was shot in the area.

The same officer provided an old photo of child soldiers recovered last year in one military operation in Butig, Farhana's hometown.

The boy said he was told it's what Allah wanted him to become.

"Sabihin nila, magka-edad ka na. Tapos ito gawin mo. 'Yan ang sinusundan natin dito sa Koran. Utos ng Allah (They say, you are growing up. This is what you should do. This is what we should follow, according to the Koran. It is what Allah wants us to do)," the boy recalled.

He was the perfect soldier. There's nothing like the misinformed courage of a child.

"Gusto ko talagang patayin ang mga sundalo. Nagtatatakbo ako sa mga puno para maghanap ng sundalo (I really wanted to kill soldiers. I was running among the trees to hunt for them)," he said.

He was talking about the clashes last year in Butig, where the Maute Group was able to raise the black flag of the Islamic State (ISIS). Three military offensives were launched there to flush them out.

"Naubos ko pa mga bala ko sa unang giyera. Sobra. te. Sabi ko, mamatay ako sa giyera na ito at mapunta na ako sa langit. Kung mamatay sa giyera, kukunin ka ni Allah (I emptied my magazine in my first battle. It was intense. I told myself, 'I will die in this war and I will go to heaven.' If I die in the battlefield, Allah will welcome me to heaven)," he said.

"Ready talaga ako mamatay, 'te. Kapag pumutok ang kanyon at ang mga eroplano dumating, hindi talaga ako magtago (I was ready to die. If the cannons were fired and if the planes came, I really wouldn't hide)," he added.

The boy didn't die in the wars in Butig. He didn't kill any soldier either. He didn't get the chance to master his marksmanship. And then something happened that changed his life and made him realize the teachings were wrong. We are withholding these details to protect his identity.

Today the boy said he still reads the Koran on his own. "Magbasa ako ng Koran. Pakiramdam ko 'te parang magaan (I read the Koran and when I do, I feel much better)," he said.

He hears the clashes in Butig and he knows some of his friends are fighting to get to heaven. "Maling-mali talaga, 'te (It's really wrong)," he said.

The military was surprised by the Maute Group's resistance in Marawi City because bandits usually run to the mountains and escape when confronted with heavy artillery. The clash is now on its 4th week and the fighters are still holding out.

If they were trained like the young boy, it means they are all ready to kill and they are all ready to die. – Rappler.com

What must be done to stop this madness?

I have also read this story. This is published in Rappler.com.

It made me angry! Children should be trained to read and write and appreciate knowledge. What these f*cking group does is train them to use guns, detonate bombs and appreciate killing people. Children should be provided with good foundations so that when they grow up they will learn to function well as a person and as a member of a society. These Maute terrorists are brainwashing them so that they will function as killing machines when they grow up.

But the article somehow left me hanging though. I would like to know how in the world was this specific person brought back into his sane mind when all his life, starting when he was an innocent little child, everything imbued upon him was hatred and violence. I really would want to know what miracle turned him over into a new leaf.

Does anyone know?
571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: June 18, 2017, 03:47:28 PM
Anything that is being used as a medium of exchange is money. Bitcoin, like gold, is money.

Exactly! Bitcoin is money. It is what you use when you buy something, right? Just like a dollar bill, bitcoin is an invention we agreed to assign a specific value to in order to be used for purchasing. I would also claim bitcoin as a currency which is only applicable online. Bitcoin is a digital or virtual or online money or currency.

A commodity? Yes, it is also a commodity. It is something that has a specific value or use.
572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: June 18, 2017, 02:13:53 PM
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.

Actually, we are already in the digital era. Bitcoin is the digital mode of the fiat currency that we have now.

For children, I think the best way is to show them the appropriate videos about bitcoin. Better start with the very basic introduction such as the history or background. But it would be best if an adult is there to further explain some points and guide them while watching the video. That would provide them a better learning. Show them the actual use of bitcoin. Let them even try.

It is almost the same with teenagers. The only difficulty is to get their attention. Perhaps it would be better to entice them into it with bitcoin's benefits.
573  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your opinion on recreational drug use on: June 18, 2017, 10:52:12 AM
I don't give a shit what others put into their bodies as long they're not harming people. The most dangerous thing about drug use is how staggeringly boring they make you. I've no interest in being around druggists any more.

The problem with people doing drugs for recreational purposes is that they really tend to make fun of people, even harm them. Not just other people; it includes their families.

Me, too, I really do not care what people do. Each for his own. We have our own individual bodies, after all. Last I heard, this is still a free world. But when your fun and happiness put other people's lives and properties at risk, you are crossing the boundary.

If I were to rule this world, I won't allow any of the those drugs mentioned above.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need to rethink the way we look at 1 BTC value... on: June 17, 2017, 03:36:46 PM
Newbies, just remember what Lao Tzu said. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."  Cheesy

It is good to dream big and have a goal but please be patient. Sometimes success really takes time. I mean, if the 1 bitcoin you are talking here is an earned one not just bought or replaced with its fiat value.

If you are trading, you will get there soon. But it is not good to rush things.
575  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Still Love Democracy? on: June 17, 2017, 03:54:18 AM
Democracy can mean many things to many people. Heck, even some dictatorial regimes prefer to call their system to be democratic while at the same time they are using the state power to suppress people and to spread lies just to create fear.

In my idea, democracy means that the government is coming from the people, for the people and by the people. The power emanates from the voters and that power should be used for the greater good of the people.

However, there are some people who prefer someone to lord over them as long as that ruler can provide them all the basic stuffs they need. They don't care if they don't have the freedom others are enjoying as long they have something to eat everyday.

As for me, I still love democracy and I hate it if someone would be curtailing my Bitcoin freedom lol.

Aristotle does not consider democracy good. He equated it with mob rule. He preferred what he called polity. When polity goes wrong it turns into a democracy.

Depending on how you look at it, democracy could actually be considered mob rule. In my country, a democratic one, the majority of the people shall be followed. Vox Populi vox dei they say. That's exactly the spirit of democracy, right? However, if you take a closer look at such a democratic practice on the ground level, you will be disappointed.

People are choosing leaders not on platforms, proposed policies, social vision, and the like. They choose out of patronage and out of money. Elections are too partisan. From the village level to the municipal, to the provincial, up to the national, people are like gangs trying to recruit as many as possible. The hell they care about anything else, the most important thing is that the government rein will fall to their hands.
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used in space? on: June 17, 2017, 01:28:10 AM
This made me laugh hard!  Grin

Here is the best thing about this bitcoin forum: the old idiom "sky is the limit" does not apply.  Grin Here we are trying to post something in reply to a question that goes beyond the sky and "throughout the solar system."  Grin

But the question here is situational so I think it has a little sense. Well, if we want to settle this once and for all, can you ask your astronaut friends up there to try transferring bitcoin?  Wink
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: June 16, 2017, 09:27:51 AM
The thing that we can do for now at most is simply to speculate about the future of bitcoin. It is actually too early to tell whether bitcoin will eventually crumble down in the future. It actually may but it may also not.

Bitcoin is relatively young, and for now it is doing good and remains promising. There are downsides of this technological invention of course. Incredibly high fees is a concern, for example.

But, the bitcoin horizon is generally clear for now. It is actually on the progress of growing up into a reliable mode of payment worldwide.
578  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Meaning of life...? on: June 16, 2017, 03:31:05 AM
Such a question in bitcointalk? Good luck!  Grin

Well, perhaps, that is why it is posted here in the Off-topic board.  Cheesy

Not much of a problem, eh? It is always very beautiful to talk about life, right? And its meaning. Yeah! It is refreshing.

This is exactly the reason why every now and then I go dropping by in the off-topic as well as in the Politics and Society Board. To discuss about some other stuff other than bitcoin.

Well, here's my two cents. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest. Whatever that means to you, stepping on others' heads to get there is not good. Getting there by pulling others down is equally bad. And of course, enjoying the journey and the struggles that come with it.  Cheesy Cheesy

579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: June 16, 2017, 02:40:37 AM
Honestly, I'm afraid not. Bank will not ever disappear, not now, not in the future. The majority of the people are of course more comfortable with the status quo, that is, with banks and their system rather than the new technological invention.

However, the great, even unbelievable, appreciation that comes with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, made them do some form of introspection and assessment. Do they need to evolve with the current trend of bitcoin and other cryptos shooting up high very quickly?

This, I think, will happen--and for sure it's slowly getting planned out very carefully-- the banking system as well as bitcoin will be taking each others advantageous features and somehow meet somewhere in the middle. Both of them will for sure evolve to a new design that offers the people the best services.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Aventus - Event Ticketing Antifraud Solution on: June 15, 2017, 05:12:22 AM
This whole aventus project seems to be a promising one. I hope this will put an end to the usual problems encountered by fans in purchasing tickets for their favorite concerts and sport events. With this great project, I hope the big companies ruling the ticketing system will shape up real quick.

I wish all the developers the best of luck for this wonderful endeavor.

We are always at you back devs. Our support will go with this project all the way.

Cheers!
