5601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam or not? Coinbase offer up to $8500 dollars to small investors on: April 11, 2015, 06:08:57 AM
Scam, definitely. Somehow they stole our email addresses from some service we all registered to. Coinbase s got nothing to do with this email.
5602  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: owner of scrypt.cc MARCELO SANTOS i am calling you a thief. on: April 10, 2015, 07:03:52 PM
Somebody changed withdrawal email address on your account? Also hacked your PIN?
5603  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cloudmining.website New puppy in cloud mining on: April 10, 2015, 06:59:55 PM
Hi,

I'm a bit scary to invest in mining company that stay hidden...
On their website there is no information at all. Is it a legit company ? the address ? support seems to be non-existing, no terms of use...

I always thought that people who hide do not have good intentions ...

Dont touch this one with a 10ft barge pole!

All signs point to a straight up Ponzi.

Which companies are to touch with 10ft barge pole ? Cheesy

Do not touch any cloud mining company at all. Some are Ponzi, some has paid hardware manufacturers to vouch for them but all are somehow hiding the real world identity of the people behind (except Cex.io). Real companies like BitPay, Bitstamp does not need to hide themselves. So, it is better to stay away from all the cloud mining thieves.

Real CloudMining companies like Bit-X and hashnest don't hide themselves either.

+1

Mining address, photos, backing of a manufacturer. All this separates legit companies from ponzies. Do not feed ponzies with you hard earned coins.

Guys, what is hashocean.com? Scam or legit? Anyone tried them out?

Scam, bit time. Do not even touch.
5605  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paypal wants to accept BTC now?? on: April 10, 2015, 06:50:19 PM
most of the members are waiting for it to paypal accept bitcoin as payment method but in near future it loooking impossible that is going to happen.

This is going to happen. Payza s already on board, Paypal s next. However, I think the right way of thinking is when BTC s going to replace Paypal and not when Paypal s going to accept BTC.
5606  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MultiSig Address on: April 10, 2015, 06:49:11 PM
How to make bitcoin multisig address?
can anyone teach me how to get it..? Grin Cheesy

*I don't know is this correct section or not Smiley

First you need a multisig wallet. Armory s got that option and they also have a very extensive help on their website but this option required a bit of advanced knowledge. If you need something really user friendly, try copay or bitgo.

is it already using multisig wallet or need some instruction to do it?
sorry, I am very newbie on multisig wallet...

As I say, armory is a bit more complicated but very safe and secure. The other two I suggested are online wallets and very user friendly.

This is definitely going to be a record year regarding VC going into BTC start-ups.

5608  Economy / Securities / Re: Anything sustainable worth of investing? on: April 10, 2015, 11:06:05 AM
I would be happier if BTC economy would have some sort of consumer protection mechanism, we would have much less scammers around and much easier task in selecting good projects.

Like what?

Well, a step forward would be to have some kind of appropriate legislative framework. I know most of people would not agree with this but I really think BTC investors/users/community need to have someone to turn to if things go south with their investments. For example, if you invest in a cloud mining contract and the company shuts down the website and runs, who are you going to turn to? Most of usual consumer protection agencies are going to say Bitcoin what?

But let us please stay on topic. Would you maybe share a bit more info about your offer?

BTC-based investments/fundings would have to be directly incorporated in existing regulative structures, actually. FIAT companies simply don't just run away, because there actually are repercussions and laws.

Agree but let us please stay on topic. Are there any other interesting and SUSTAINABLE BTC project you currently use?

5610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8,400 bitcoin on: April 10, 2015, 11:01:10 AM
It's only worth that much for you if you haven't gotten into the game back in 2010 or 2011! I always imagine the early adopters still considering their amount to be wort a couple hundred USD or something....

If you had 5000k BTC in late 2012 and early 2013 when the price went up, would you sell?
5611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if YOU could put 1 feature, change, whatever, into the Bitcoin protocol? on: April 10, 2015, 10:59:59 AM
I would like to find a way to remove anonymity. It attracts scammers and ponzi pumpers and brings nothing to honest people. If are not a criminal, what do you hide from?

Wouldn't that be against the feature concepts of bitcoin? Identity and credentials are a very vital part of ones' life--particularly people who are surfing in the internet. It can cause security implications if ever your personal information leaked in the interwebs.

Well, you can have it both. You can have anonymity but then you have tons of scammers and ponzi pumpers as well which devastate BTC community. They do it exactly cause they are able to hide behind that anonymity. Bunch of portals, cloud mining websites and investment schemes run by these people and there s no way of knowing who s behind it or trace their transactions.

I m not talking about you or I being able to trance them but police or any other law enforcement agency cant do it either. On the other hand, people share photos of their children on Facebook. How come?
5612  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Mining sued for breach of contract on: April 10, 2015, 10:56:40 AM
Source?
And well, paying his bills is much less of a problem compared to paycoin and the whole cloud mining shit.

There is an article on Confire and all other major portals. About $350k in liabilities.
5613  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining / contracts - share your experience on: April 10, 2015, 09:23:30 AM
I have start with hashlets i make a roi in the begining, but with my mistake i reinvest a lot there so at the end didnt get out as others did and never roi at the end.
Also letgear still waiting my payments to have my roi
in genesis mining still not have a roi ( i m many months there)
also have rent some ring but didnt have a roi either there

Now i m scrypt.cc with ROI 57 days and i hope for the best.

Sorry to tell you but you might lose money on all of your investments. Hashlets are dead, LTCgear s dead, Genesis Mining s very unprofitable and they have a very long ROI, scrypt.cc is a ponzi.
I hope things work out for you in the future but please be more careful with your investments. I think you are a nice guy and having such a negative rating does not suit you well.

Any update about scrypt.cc? It still says it is only a preliminary assessment here for it being a ponzi.
There's a lot of buzz about this one lately... A lot of people talking about here, on hashtalk.org and other forums, even taking loans to invest in them, but the roi seems too good there, especially when altcoin mining is not very profitable these days to my understanding.
Wouldn't trust them more than 10$, but it's still interesting to hear what's all about

Show me a miner which can generate 60 days ROI. You do not need to dig deeper then that to formulate your opinion.
5615  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best bitcoin debit card? on: April 10, 2015, 07:14:06 AM
What's the point of a debit card for Bitcoin? I do not understand it bitcoin you can pay easy by simply scaning a qr code which is probably easier than a debit card

What do you mean what s the point? How are you going to buy groceries in your store, for example, using BTC?

I m sure your local McDonalnds does not accept BTC either.
5616  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashnest 's newest PACMiC Cloud Mining Contract on: April 10, 2015, 07:08:19 AM
Hi kapetan,

If you invest one bitcoin, get hashing power of one Th/s, mining revenue paid in PPLNS mode will be prior to pay your profit, then pay your unpaid capital.
Contract ends only when your one bitcoin is returned in full.

Profit is calculated by the formula: unpaid principal (BTC) * 0.7 (satoshis per BTC per second) * time to find a block (seconds).

So the end result is roughly 22% of profit per year under condition you re-buy your contracts during the entire year.  Principal returned in full.
5617  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: April 10, 2015, 07:05:46 AM
I am happy to hear about compensation also but more details about how it is going to be handled would be nice.

Can't say I am thrilled with the wording "have mining contracts who incurred any loses" Isn't it safe to say we all incurred loses?

A

Janet, could you pls elaborate a bit on this? Do this relate to cloud miners who lost their potential profits due to this incident or somebody else?

Yes, we sometimes forget how rich are these guys who started mining in 2009. Having 10k, 20k, 50k BTC, just for leaving your PC on for a few months to mine some magic coins. What an opportunity that was!!!
5620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you mine it or buy it? on: April 10, 2015, 06:57:51 AM
I started with one 7970 GPU a few years ago and I mined my first coins. Now, I both buy and cloud mine my coins. I sold my rigs but I would still like to have a few GPUs, just for fun, to mine some alts. I ll probably get a few of these soon.
