5601  Other / Off-topic / [PSA] For those who recently "signed up" for the free $20 dice site on: February 08, 2020, 09:07:51 AM
I suspected the OP (Confit) was going under the pretense of finding new testers, but actually using whatever login information he could phish from. The link (http://fragnelschoolranchi.com) was insecure and therefore, all information submitted were visible to unauthorized parties (including the OP himself) as everything is in plaintext.

He was last seen the day he registered (7th Feb) and has not been active since.

Currently, the background has been changed to some school in India.

For the uninitiated, this is the thread which has been locked.

Luckily, I used some random password and email so I wasn't affected but to those who thought it was a legit offer and used their existing login credentials from other sites, do change your passwords ASAP.

5602  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Cooldown for the second locking thread on: February 08, 2020, 05:06:26 AM
I agree, currently this can be easily abused to avoid critics from commenting.

Maybe start from 10 minutes, followed by 30 minutes, 1 hour and so forth.
5603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SSL vs. TLS! on: February 07, 2020, 05:21:13 PM
TIL. I didn't even know SSL had long depreciated since there were articles advocating for it, or the terms were used interchangeably.
5604  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for the best solution on: February 07, 2020, 05:13:00 PM
Fret not, I've been rejected countless times before being accepted into a campaign. That was way back when I was still a newbie.

Still, not joining doesn't mean the end of the world. Of course getting paid to post is a no-brainer, but there are like others competing for the same thing.

Don't forget, most CMs do check post history so you might wanna cool off for a while by posting normally for like a week or two.
5605  Other / Meta / Re: My Own Personalized Merit calculator on: February 07, 2020, 05:09:18 PM
I'm sorry, it is for windows PC only, I forgot to indicate.

I hope I could develop IOS applications too in the future so that it could support multi platform operating system as well. Though, if you have time to use a windows PC, then feel free to use it anyway. It is free from virus or you might want to scan it first before running it. Thank you.

No worries, I'll test it on my PC once it's repaired. Until then, I've to stick with my trusty mobile device Cheesy
5606  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ways of earning merit. on: February 07, 2020, 02:35:13 PM
Getting Merit is becoming increasingly difficult, people are very greedy and do not want to share.  Tongue

Yes, but there are still some kind-hearted individuals out there.

Just be yourself (i.e. helpful) and don't solely post for Merits, then they'll come naturally.
5607  Other / Meta / Re: My Own Personalized Merit calculator on: February 07, 2020, 07:42:56 AM
Darn, it shows "Unsupported file type" when accessing it on Google Drive (iOS).

5608  Other / Off-topic / Re: Habits on: February 07, 2020, 07:32:09 AM
I guess that is not easy. You can try to take a rest after 20 minutes sitting in front of your computer. You use your time to carry around in out of your home. Try to take a deep breath, feel the fresh air in and out of your body. You don't need to use 20 minutes in the beginning, but you can use 5 minutes to start and try to increase the time every day. I am sure you will have a new habit that will help you to get better.

I'll try, might need to buy some fixed-interval timer which could work.
5609  Other / Off-topic / Re: Coronavirus wistle blower on: February 07, 2020, 06:45:09 AM
Some suspected it's some insider job. After all, these people were restricted from revealing it to the public and the government has lots of authority to "silence" them...

Nevertheless, RIP.
5610  Other / Off-topic / Re: Habits on: February 07, 2020, 06:41:04 AM
When you've been on the monitor for around 20 minutes or more, try to look at the other side of your room or work place. This is a practice that I'm now starting to make it a habit, as consulted this is good for our eyes if you're infront of the computer most of the time.

Damn, this is one of the hardest habits to catch since I tend to sit in-front of my screen often and it's soooo easy to slack off.
5611  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [Unofficial] Coinpot.co - new microwallet on: February 07, 2020, 06:38:34 AM
Just to add what LTU said above, you might want to avoid further promoting CP to referrals since there's no support. You can't control what they do and there are those minority that'd abuse what opportunities available out there.

It's a one-man-show after all, sad to say.
5612  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wondering why account are hack or stolen? HTTP VS HTTPS on: February 07, 2020, 06:33:43 AM
AFAIK No, HTTPS everywhere only works if the website support HTTPS. HTTPS everywhere only forces the browser to use HTTPS rather than HTTP if the website support HTTPS.

Got it, thanks for the reply. I've seen some instances of sites defaulting to http at times, which I had to manually enter the https afterward.

Hi Confit, I'm keen to join. Hope there are still sufficient slots left! Cheesy

Save on the Copper membership and just be helpful generally without focusing on the Merit point. Sometimes members will be helpful enough to post them (from your link) on your behalf.

Once you've earned your first Merit and ranked up, you're good to go. Personally I don't feel it's worth it unless you're actively promoting some service(s) or product(s) without going through the whole process.
5615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Inspire by the bitcointak guidlines on: February 07, 2020, 06:06:53 AM
This is stupid already. First, threads of users inspired by other users. Then, users inspired by the threads of users inspired by other users. Now, threads of users inspired by guidelines. What's next? "Inspired by the forum name"?

I'll be damned if Satoshi is brought up too Cheesy
5616  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW RECOGNISE NEW COIN & EXCHANGE? on: February 07, 2020, 06:00:24 AM
Hey guys there is a new airdrop a QUANTUM GENERATION. It is really awesome a great coz it has a big airdrop value.

Wrong subforum, buddy. And most airdrops are dead since 2018.
5617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wondering why account are hack or stolen? HTTP VS HTTPS on: February 07, 2020, 05:54:33 AM
Sometimes a website has both versions. A plugin like HTTPS Everywhere might help when you accidentally visit the non-secure version and warns you when the website doesn't have the HTTPS version.

Most browsers do that, especially on Chrome. The padlock will be red and unlocked.

I wonder though, does it help if the site doesn't support the HTTPS cert but the plugin forces it to do so?
5618  Other / Meta / Re: Is there any possibility to put on ignore every member who display a signature? on: February 07, 2020, 05:51:58 AM
And the funny part is that such a naive ignore pattern would ignore theymos. Bossian, you DON'T want to ignore the forum admin, Do you? Granted, its only a bitcoin address, but its a signature none the less Smiley

Plot twist: Those with sigs are on theymos' ignored list all along Cheesy
5619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 1$ every day in bitcoin over the last five years on: February 06, 2020, 02:18:01 PM
Guess that many of us have never thought of investing a dollar a day, but who would do that everyday without fail? Cheesy Back in 2016 when I purchased some Bitcoin without knowing WTF it was and just left it sitting in the dark until the boom and saw a nice little surprise.

At least I'm now saving the weekly Sats from the sig campaigns and let it earn interests.

Being health-conscious, I tend to drink more water rather than carbonated drinks especially being outside.
