5601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 13, 2020, 01:48:38 PM
Can the Titans (+750) be the dark horse to win the Super Bowl?

Could be... Anything's possible at this point. Its more like asking if Derek Henry can win the Super Bowl for the Titans. At 6'3 247 lbs he's got to be one of the biggest RBs in the league (if not the biggest).

Though I don't detract from Tannehill's apparent renaissance. He was Rookie of the Year, after all, in 2012. Perhaps he just didn't have the right kind of team behind him to really shine, until this year. Out of the 7 years he's played, he had his highest % completions and longest average passes this season.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Titans/Niners Super Bowl. Though I think I'd still have to root for the Niners.

Out of all our predictions, ralle14 was the closest to calling all 4:

For today's divisional matches I got the 49ers and the Titans to cover. The Vikings' playoff run should stop here I know they just took out one of the best team but it feels like beating another team (and with one of the best offense) is just too much. With the spread being -7 I like the chances of 49ers at home and riding the home team trend since in all of their head to head results the road team hasn't won.

On the Titans' and Ravens game, I don't see the Titans winning this but I expect a closer result since the previous matches haven't reached the double digits. Also this was my vote on the poll.

I'm going to miss this thread when the season's over. Gonna have to still crank out 5 posts a week in the gambling section somehow without it.  Cry

What is the price of bitcoin in parallel universes? Perhaps we're paying attention to the wrong one.

5603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BSV] [Bitcoin SV] Satoshi Vision - Unmoderated Thread on: January 13, 2020, 08:02:41 AM
imagine Henry Ford, coming back from the grave telling Ford company that cars don't need AC/heater because that is not part of the original design..what cars need are bigger windows, actually might as well remove the windshield to let more air in LOL

But Satoshi or Craig Wright how you want to call him said that "the core design was set in stone for the rest of its lifetime" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195.msg1611#msg1611

So was designed from the start to be a form of stable money, Bitcoin SV will return Bitcoin to what it was supposed to be, from the start and at 0.1.

So the example about Henry Ford is irrelevant.

Its actually a great analogy.

Craig is claiming his car is a Ford Model T when in actuality under the hood its closer to a Toyota Corolla. If he wanted to recreate the Model T, he would have just cloned the Model T instead of including all the modernizations introduced in generations (builds) afterward.

To complete the analogy, modern Bitcoin (0.19) is more like a Ford Fusion sedan. It makes use of the latest innovations in the industry to deliver an advanced version of the original product, one that couldn't have been fathomable during Henry Ford's time.

If you want to be religious about it and say the Model T is the only true car, well have fun, but don't expect other people to follow.
5604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BSV] [Bitcoin SV] Satoshi Vision - Unmoderated Thread on: January 13, 2020, 06:44:46 AM
Bounded courier arrived?

He's said everything from he's going to wreck the market on January 1st to he won't ever have access to the bitcoins to now this. So he covered his bases regardless of what happens.

Here's how this will play out:

Craig will claim that even though he received a remaining key slice from the bonded courier, he can't put them together because he doesn't have access to any number of the remaining 7 slices.

Therefore, he will get to continue claiming that he is Satoshi forever, because part of the lie will entail him never receiving the other missing slice(s).

No bitcoins from Satoshi's stash will ever be moved. At least not by Craig.

So, if you're a BSVtard, or just a complicit chump, this plays out perfectly for you.

To everybody else, its just more proof that Craig is full of shit.

Whatever happens, Craig will get to continue his lie, and no bitcoins will be moved. He designed this outcome specifically to appease his major backers. Also whatever happens, Craig will still be on the hook for Kleiman's attorney fees.

BTW: Nice post edit, chump.

Important is, that BSV is original copy of original BitCoin, where btc has moved away and BSV doesn't copy such alterations into the original copy

Its not. Its a fork of a fork. BSV contains changes by Core and BCH developers. This is verifiable by checking its commit history on GitHub. You've just swallowed a lie whole and you keep repeating it in hopes you won't be corrected.

He merited this post today in the chipmixer thread .. Roll Eyes

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935179.msg53587999#msg53587999

The first time I scratched my head over PN7 was when he left me this reply in the CM campaign thread:

While we're on this topic: For those interested in joining the campaign, would you rather have more frequent openings of single slots, or slightly less frequent openings but with multiple spots open?

You should just PM people you want in the campaign. Not that its a hassle to apply, but you'd probably save yourself a lot of time that way.
This is actually not allowed and would put anyone who does this at risk of getting banned.

I was just wondering why this relative noob would care so much about this campaign, and why did they think they knew the forum rules so well? I didn't think it was QS at the time, as QS had spam blasted all the participants of the Livecoin campaign months earlier, telling everybody they risked getting red tagged if they remained in the campaign.

Edit - I did have a copy of TS's code working at one point. I had to hit him up for a few missing pieces he forgot in his code thread. Not sure if he updated the OP, but will give it another stab when I get some free time and a new vps. (Probably have the code buried in thousands of PM's at this point). Tongue

That would be cool if you wanted to give it a go. However, there are other ways to produce evidence of the connection. I'd just rather not give them away yet.
5606  Other / Meta / Re: [2019] BitcoinTalk's Newbie of the Year [2019] on: January 12, 2020, 06:42:14 PM
Any objections to me moving it to Meta?

I don't mind, not that it matters much.

Unfortunately I still can't come up with any suitable nominations. All notable newbies that I recall are sockpuppets. This probably says more about me than the actual state of the forum - I'm sure there are great genuine noobs hiding somewhere.

There has to be -- we just don't go to those places. Things that excite us are boring to noobs. We have no idea what the noobs find exciting. Part of the aging process.

The benefit of moving it to Meta is that it will be seen by a fresh set of eyes who (wisely, most likely) steer clear of the Reputation section.
5607  Economy / Reputation / Re: mosprognoz - Needs To Learn on: January 12, 2020, 04:03:52 PM
nutildah announced that he excluded me from his trust list.

Just for the record, I didn't actually exclude you, I just stopped including you.

Last month, and again more recently, I recommended you tone it down a bit, but you kinda went in the opposite direction. I know sometimes its annoying when people get on your nerves, but part of being on DT is not being overblown in your responses, and trying to set a good example for others.

You just haven't really been doing that with what you said to eddie and suchmoon.

I'm not shutting you out or anything -- PM me if you want.

5609  Economy / Reputation / Re: The many accounts of korner (Bitcoin SV) on: January 12, 2020, 01:43:53 PM
It would appear that the Bitcoin SV account has been temp banned as korner is now using another account, Alert!, to continue his trolling saga.

This is his first thread. Unsurprisingly, it is self-moderated:

[FAKE ANN] BitcoinFX - Thread Duplicator & Troll

Troll's profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=30

Duplicated ANN there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5216304
Original ANN there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5211986

Alert! was named as an alt of korner in the OP of this thread, and first identified by Ratimov as belonging to korner here:

Еще один альт корнера Alert!

Корнер, сколько ты их уже наклепал? Cheesy

Please report him for ban evasion. I have reported him for ban evasion twice thus far. One report was marked "good" (which is encouraging) and the other is unhandled (but its been less than 12 hours, so...).

I like to say that I died under strange circumstances in India.

That usually gets them off my back.
5611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: An <COINSBIT.IO> Innovative Trading Cryptosystem on: January 12, 2020, 10:33:12 AM
Why does everyone think negatively about coinsbit?

In addition to obviously faking their trading volume, they have a flood of complaints from users about being locked out of their accounts. Here is an example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5183338.0

They also have a shady "investbox" program that encourages users to buy & hold tokens for ICOs that either have very little information about them or else are outright scams. In addition, they continue to list a lot of fraudulent projects. KEP immediately comes to mind.

As far as the fake volume is concerned, just look at these rankings on CMC for 24-hour volume:

by reported volume: #6
by adjusted volume: #4
by liquidity: not in the top 50

What does this mean?

Quote
The Liquidity metric by CoinMarketCap is designed to eventually replace volume as the default metric when ranking market pairs and exchanges...

Liquidity refers to the ease of being able to trade in and out of an asset, or in this case cryptocurrencies.
The Liquidity metric by CoinMarketCap takes into account a wider range of key variables from the order book, such as the distance of the order from the mid-price, the size of the order and the relative liquidity of the asset in question...

The adaptive methodology will make the Liquidity metric very difficult to “game” as orders would need to be placed close to the mid-price, or risk being counter-productive to the Liquidity metric scoring.

Basically, Coinsbit is manipulating the shit out of their volume. If they are being dishonest about this, dishonest about why they are locking users out of their accounts, and listing tokens that are proven scams, it makes you wonder what else they are being dishonest about...
5612  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tens of Fake accounts promoting scam (Bumping) on: January 12, 2020, 10:15:20 AM
It appears that they are also doing the same on other social media channels like discord according to this post Beware: Black Hat team working at BitcoinTalk to mislead newcomers. MalwareChain

And now they've locked the thread! Wonder what that's all about... Maybe they will only open it for their spammers, we'll see.
5613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BSV] [Bitcoin SV] Satoshi Vision - Unmoderated Thread on: January 12, 2020, 10:07:16 AM
Funny, he might NOT even be Satoshi, if he signs.

It sure would be a lot better than what ever else he's done to prove he's Satoshi. So far he's done nothing but tell lies.

Anyhow BSV is just refactored Original BitCoin

It's not. Its a fork of a fork. It contains changes made by Bitcoin Core and BCH devs. Feel free to keep spewing lies, and I'll keep correcting them.
5614  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Tradesatoshi are scamming with KYC requirements on: January 12, 2020, 10:03:53 AM
As i remember there are many scam accusation already in this exchange . And only few users use that exchange for many reasons like listing many shitcoins/ scam coins etc. So no need to make another scam accusation about this and this exchange is only waiting for the right time to close thier exchange since there are only few users.

You just bumped a thread that had been dormant for 7 months... All so you could tell OP his thread is unnecessary?  Huh

Unfortunately, Trade Satoshi is still around, though they only handle about 2 BTC a day in volume. There's no way this could still be a profitable undertaking other than through weaseling customers out of funds using any one of their well-documented fleecing tactics.
5615  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tens of Fake accounts promoting scam (Bumping) on: January 12, 2020, 08:07:17 AM
Good find. All of these accounts woke up to start posting specifically on this thread, or else have large gaps in their posting, and now have been only shilling for this project. They are likely all owned by the same person, who probably runs a Fiverr thread bumping service.

I took a look at the white paper and it seems to be all original. The fact that they don't have any sort of team is suspicious, though.
5616  Other / Meta / Re: [2019] BitcoinTalk's Newbie of the Year [2019] on: January 12, 2020, 04:48:26 AM
Leave it open for another week or so. Maybe some other nominations will come along. I kept nominations for my Troll Poll open for a month. Also, you may have gotten some more traffic by putting this thread in Meta.
5617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 12, 2020, 04:42:10 AM
Damn, quite an upset there. I have to admit I barely paid attention to Tennessee all season. I used to root for them when Mariota was starting QB, as he is a Hawaii guy, but didn't watch a single game of theirs this season.

SF wins no problem -- wasn't sure they'd cover but they certainly did. I only just woke up, caught the last 2 minutes of the Titans/Ravens game. Will be watching some highlights this morning, and rooting for the Seahawks tomorrow.
5618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 11, 2020, 03:41:13 PM
I should check in on this thread more often. Seeing as how I'm reminded of its presence every time I log in for the last 5 and a half years.

I cannae believe the silver fund thing is still being discussed. There are rather more important things to be focusing on such as whether this project and its descendant has a future other than oblivion.

My own take on the silver thing is I never handed over any money for it or felt any ownership of it, I just got 70-75,000 less XEM and stakeholders paid chump change for what they did receive.

I seem to recall saying it was a fucking stupid idea at the time and my opinion has not wavered. It's been pathetically handled but it'll soon be five years ago and since then literally nothing has been done about it so it clearly never will by this point. They'll intend for the idea of it to fade away. I won't particularly care for one.

Speak for yourself! I could care less about receiving an actual silver coin but a share of the fund would be nice.

Btw..... am I the only one getting really tired of reading this always: CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post! <-- Roll Eyes

Probably a nice honest way to earn $10 a week Wink

Judging by the quality of posting by most of those posters I guess the pay probably is really, really low.

It's actually pretty high, for Legendaries anyway. I forget what it is but its more than I'm getting at the moment.

You'll have to ask Searing next time he stops by.

Most of the posters are indeed shit, but there are a few decent ones. Even though I doubly question their credibility immediately upon seeing that signature.

I think its 20k sats per post for Legendaries - if I remember correctly. Even pay for little Seniors like me is quite high compared with most campaigns.

Therein lies the ethical dilemma. Its also why hundreds of dormant accounts suddenly woke up and began shitposting like mad. I personally never had a problem with YoBit, but that's just me. I tend to hang out in the places where people don't shitpost, but delving into Bitcoin Discussion is sometimes like wading through a sewer.
