5601  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone else get a random password reset email from YoBit? on: May 18, 2016, 04:19:20 AM
Some one is trying to hack your account i think. Scan your computer with kaspersky. Enable 2FA.  Change your password, move your coins to some place else. I wouldn't keep them in that pc's wallet btw.
Malwarebytes anti malware found nothing,  and Bitdefender didn't either.  The thing is, if I did install a virus by accident, I'm sure my Electeum btc would be gone already. I also don't see a point in adding 2FA in my YoBit account, since no coins are stored there and they probably never will.

.....

it has nothing to do with your computer and whether it has malware on it or not. your username (or email i don't know what they ask for reset) is leaked and until your email password is not leaked you are safe.

remember that anybody can request password reset just as long as they have the name but it will not reset until you click that link in email.
5602  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I've got $20k to invest. Please recommend! on: May 17, 2016, 05:48:12 AM
10k worth of BTC and 10k worth of ETH

easy

maybe put more in bitcoin, ethereum is not that safe and surely safer with bitalik holding still so much coin

do 75 and 25 or any other combination were more than 50% is on bitcoin

i agree. investing in any altcoin is more dangerous than investing in bitcoin especially an altcoin like ethereum that is being pump and dumped so massively.

so even if you go 50% in eth you should stay very cautious to sell as fast as possible with the first sign of dump because you can wake up one morning and see eth is half the price you bought.
5603  Economy / Economics / Re: How many % of your portfolio is in bitcoin ? on: May 17, 2016, 05:41:34 AM
my percentage changes a lot but recently i have added more and more to the amount of bitcoin (percentage wise) instead of other things mostly because of the low price and the upcoming rise which i believe it can be a good chance to make a big profit.

other than that i invest mostly in gold, and keep the rest as cash in bank.
5604  Economy / Digital goods / Re: SILENT C# MINER on: May 17, 2016, 05:35:10 AM

All you have to do is set your own adress as cashout wallet and it will start silent mining at full PC capacity.

i keep looking at the date of this post and i can't believe someone would ever fall for this in 2016.

mining with pc is so ancient, you can't do that anymore.

and specially not with a shady program that is not even open source and most probably is containing keylogger and all kinds of unwanted code
5605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin halving almost there... brace yourselves :-) on: May 17, 2016, 05:30:00 AM
there might be no rise even until after the halving and most whales may keep the price down to do some more shakedown and then after the disappointment of newbies the price will explode to the moon and then those newbies come back and push the price even further up.
5606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: May 17, 2016, 05:26:00 AM
gamble is the only activity that can double your money in a min and this unique promise lure endless people to come and try it out. they all keep looking for some quick cash and that is why people end up addicted.
this actually the point of why gambling are addictive thing.
a lure to make money very fast that we can never handle.
an addiction always come from something fun , and a casino games provided it plus you have lured by easy doubling money system.

I think gambling is addictive for those people who don't want to make honest efforts to earn money, they want to get rich overnight without doing anything, but it will never work in long  run.

Right, gambling will never get you rich overnight.  And even if it does, in some miracle you hit a lucky jackpot, it will just go away as easily. There will be no effort to keep it because you never work hard to earn it. You will never value the money you got because it was too easy to get it. You will just gamble the money all away.
We are so focus with the gambling benefits that we get when winning that is why we are addicted with it. If we only try to see the other side that the odds are not in favor to us then maybe we can realize but as a gambler we are one sided and we only see the winning side.

in general if you want to stay away from gambling and not get addicted to it you should start to realize that gambling is not the way to get rich.
and unlike many that are suggesting gambling as a way of earning bitcoin, it really is not a way of making bitcoin at all. realizing this will help you gamble more reasonably.
5607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: May 17, 2016, 05:21:28 AM
To stay away from gambling, you must get married or you must love a person or your pet animal. If you already a married person, then you must love your children or spouse.

First time I see getting married as a solution to gambling addiction. Never heard this one before. I just wish it was just that easy to cure an addiction. Then there will be less gambling addicts. I think no marriage can cure it. Worse, if you got maried to a wrong person, you get more addicted to gambling to stay away from that person.

haha, yeah me too. it is the first time i hear that an it is a very strange suggestion to stay away from addiction too.
i also think that is not only strange but also a bad way of going at it. because you will only occupy yourself and make yourself busy while the problems of your gambling addiction is still intact and waiting to surface at the first chance.

Very funny suggestion hehe but it is true some time people get married means they will not concentrate on other things they only think about there love so this is also one type of method to stay away from gambling. But what my other mate said if any problem come in there life then automatically they will addict this gambling. instad of spending time with there wife they will spend more time here only.

yeah, that is why i said it is strange and a bad solution.
because it practically means that you are ruining another person's life too. because the addiction is not cured just pushed down until you get time to spend your money and ruin two lives instead of one.
5608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should I invest in bitcoin casinos? on: May 17, 2016, 05:19:03 AM
Wait, what do you mean by invest in bitcoin casinos? You mean you want to partner with any casino or starting your own? If it's this, then you might make some profit if you can get people to play in your site.

Or just gamble with that $3K? if it's this, you'll be fucked up. Listen to me, I'm saying it with experience, stay away from it Grin

if you have read the previous comments or at least the first two pages you would have understood what it is all about.

there are a lot of casinos (old or new) that are accepting investments. this means anybody can invest some bitcoin in their bankroll and share in the profit they earn.
5609  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your predictions for 2016 on: May 17, 2016, 05:12:28 AM
I think we will see >= 1k$ this year. But not after halvening, later in the winter.

What makes you think we will see +$1000 prices? Usually people say the price will increase due to the block halving but not in this case. There is literally nothing that indicates the price will go that high this year. Not even to $700.

Even without a pump the price is rising ~1$/day on the longterm trendline, so 600 - 700 $ should be possible even with this linear growth. And a pump will occur sooner or later.  Implementation of Segwit+Lightening will be a huge milesone, because this is a real scaling solution. Just setting the blocksize higher, like some propose, is not scaling.

only big sudden rises require a pump. the current slow rise mostly shows the demand and the buy support for bitcoin. and also this comes from the increasing popularity which leads to the adoption of bitcoin over time which is growing.
5610  Economy / Speculation / Re: There is an epic shakeout coming this year before the giga-spike. on: May 17, 2016, 05:09:07 AM
shakeouts have been happening, it is not new and can't get bigger than this. the difference is that the market is much bigger than anytime before in the past. no shakeout can bring the price lower than $440 at the current state.
5611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn Bitcoins fast and free?? on: May 17, 2016, 05:01:19 AM
Unless you have some sort of skill to offer, signature campaign is the best way to go. Faucets in my opinion is a waste of time, unless you own one.

Even owning the faucet is not necessarily profitable if you don't spend a lot to advertise it and get visitors daily. Selling services and goods could being real method to make bitcoins fast .

For me everything is waste of time, I love signature campaign and it pays me on daily basis and I don't need to wait for a week and I can use it anywhere I want.

Yeah faucets are just a waste of time, but if you are a faucet owner that isn't a waste of time rather you can manage it properly and get profit from your advertisers and visitors.
You will just return a very tiny portion of your earnings to the visitors.

i don't agree. even for a faucet owner it is tough to earn money. it may not be waste of time for some of them but generally it is not a good idea to start a faucet. besides most of the good ad networks like google adsense doesn't allow you to use their service and will ban you if they find out.
5612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people store their bitcoin on a file, or on paper? on: May 17, 2016, 04:57:20 AM
It seems that almost everyone in this thread is against storing Bitcoins online, well I'm all for using online wallets  Smiley And I believe people will change their stance on this over time, you can't keep all your money under your bed your whole life  Tongue For me, personally using Coinbase to store my Bitcoins is immeasurably more convenient than using local or paper wallets. It means that I can access my coins anywhere in the world without having to carry my computer and my private keys with me or having to download the blockchain every time.
Coinbase is insured anyways. Here's an excerpt from an article from Coinbase's support center regarding this:

"Coinbase is insured against employee theft and hacking in an amount that exceeds the average value of online bitcoin it holds at any given time. Specifically, Coinbase's insurance policy would respond in the event that bitcoin stored in Coinbase was lost or stolen as a result of a breach of our physical security, cyber security, or as a result of employee theft.

Coinbase has held this insurance since November 2013 with highly rated carriers (S&P rating of A+ or A.M. Best Rating of A XV or higher).

This insurance policy does not cover damages resulting from a specific user's loss, such as the losses resulting from a compromise of the user's login credentials.
"

there are a lot of things wrong with what you just said here. i have made them bold.

first of all you use cold storage (under your bed Smiley) for large amounts that you don't need everyday. like putting 20BTC there that you don't need to have access to every day!

second you can use online wallets, nobody is against them you should only know the risks. so keep what you want to spend there not all your bitcoin.

last but not least, the insurance as you quoted here only covers the loss if it is on their end. as i said in second, the risk of using an online wallet is being hacked, losing your coins because of weak password, having a keylogger, other social engineering hacks, .... which are not covered by coinbase or any other wallet.
5613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~$10,000 in cryptos stolen off my desktop from an encrypted folder, how, why? on: May 17, 2016, 04:47:15 AM
I kept 500 Ether, 1,000 Litecoin and 500 PPC in a cold wallet in a password protected .rar file on my desktop, when I happened to check my watch address yesterday all the balances were emptied two days ago.

I made two mistakes (1) I download a lot from Torrent sites, (2) I kept ALL my "cold" storage paper wallets in one encrypted WinRar file with a 12 character password. I thought this security was enough and am still at a loss as to what happened.
I don't know what was your password, but with only 12 characters there are very high chances it was weak enough to be brute forced.

I suggest you read some guides on how to choose a strong password: http://lifehacker.com/four-methods-to-create-a-secure-password-youll-actually-1601854240

And downloading from torrents is not the problem (assuming your system does not have exploitable holes), the problem is what programs you run after downloading them. Depending what you download, there is a very high chance it is bundled with malicious stuff.

I know how it feels to lost even files due to malware but you have lost a lot of money and i am sorry about your loss. But these days i find online storage like google drive more secure place to store files.
Are you implying that it's safer to store files in online cloud storage than on your own computer?! lol
If you encrypt your file appropriately (strong password, algorithm) before uploading then it is not only pretty safe, it is also recommended. I recommend GnuPG, or AES Crypt.

Because keeping your backup in only 1 place is actually a bad idea, what would happen if a natural disaster wipes your house, or you get robbed?! Your data will be simply lost, that is when online backups are very useful and should always be considered, especially when the data is crucial.

This is not true.  Torrents are likely as secure and no more than a website.  (They depend on the originator link)  However, if you went to The Pirate Bay, searched for bitcoin, you might very well find a backdoor client being seeded. Maybe this is what you mean and I'm sure you understand this, but I just saw this and thought it needed clarification.

exactly this. websites like PB are like a community (forum or whatever they are called) which means if a torrent on their site contains anything malicious they will be removed fast enough because of the reports. so you will never see any bad code being seeded for long.

also i don't see OP is replying to any of the comments even after a full month so i assume he doesn't even know what a cold wallet is because he is using the encrypted rar on an online computer with keylogger!
5614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do to get bitcoins? on: May 17, 2016, 04:36:30 AM
Hello I have spent my bitcoins on a cloud mining website, and i am wondering if there is anything i can do to earn bitcoin while i wait for that, just keep in mind the following: I have no skills except for making offensive jokes, I don't have a job because I am a student, and I want to try and trade bitcoins :/ any answers would be greatly appreciated

I would not recommend donating as the only thing you will get in return is a
thank you from me Tongue

There are hell lot of ways to earn bitcoin.

I would not emphasize on faucets as it is not worth the time you will spend.

Since you have already invested in cloud mining, I would say please keep a close watch on its performance and they are mostly not that much reliable.

You can also make us of BTCJAM or BTCPOP website to invest in IPO and p2p loans. Try to find out best rating borrowers and invest in their loan requirement, you will receive good returns.

Also you can join a signature campaign once you have a good rank which will enable you to earn good amount of money. Follow the below link.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

cloudmining is generally a bad idea mostly because they are just all scams. but also there are a couple that are not scams but they have such a bad ROI that makes it frustrating you get your investment back.

also the lending especially in platforms like btcjam (dont know the other one) is so risky and needs somebody with risk management cause you can easily lose your investment.
5615  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: May 17, 2016, 04:28:58 AM
my opinion has not changes one bit even after this many time that i have been spending with buying, earning and accumulating bitcoin.

i would not sell all of my bitcoins, even if the price went so high up. i will always hold on to some amount to use it as a currency to pay for stuff.
5616  Economy / Services / Re: I've created most easy way to earn bitcoins from your photos, need feedbacks. on: May 17, 2016, 04:25:53 AM
cool idea, i will try it out later today. but i think it would be hard to get people to tip you to reveal the photo unless it is unique stuff that you create on your own and that makes it hard to come by.
5617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone have plan to make income on bitcoins :) on: May 16, 2016, 12:29:32 PM
yeah i have plans and i am already doing it. i have been very interested in earning online and became very interested in bitcoin as soon as i found out about it.
right now i am making some bitcoin from signature campaigns, some other advertising, and mostly from trading, and a couple of more things small here and there.

Long time ago i read about a guy who very huge from a poker tournament but i am still trying to become rich with gambling, it is hard for me to maintain my bankroll there some time i won and some time i lost there because is very risky to make some money.

those guys who earn money big time with poker are mostly seasoned poker players that have been playing poker their whole life so they have accumulated a lot of experience. and as my top comment said poker is a different game it is all about skills and less about chance.
5620  Economy / Speculation / Re: 0.01 BTC June 1 Prediction Competition! on: May 16, 2016, 12:11:47 PM
in half a month i wouldn't expect the price to go past $500 so my prediction is the price of $471.5 by June 1st.
