For example, the Limbe Stadium will host 8 matches 7 of which in the span of 10 days with 3 b2b.  Shocked , that pitch will be literally murdered.

That's... really unlucky for the last teams to play I guess! Got good memories of playing football in Africa... not good for my body at all, as I suffered some of the worst injuries in my short footballing life on their incredibly brutal pitches haha. They are typically hard and dry and full of sharp stones (East Africa anyway).

Good luck to you and Nigeria igehhh, warm welcome to this pool and hope to see you in more pools. Love the fact this AFCON thread already gets a willing paying participant. I bet the contingent will be big there... are travels still allowed? Would be awesome to see a pic or two from one of the forum guys.

My first bet today is on Cameroon, super boost to 1.66, parlayed of course with Liverpool and other Prem teams in FA Cup!
5602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 09, 2022, 10:11:02 AM
Eh Palace down a goal. They're not playing with their best team but surprised to see Clyney still on the bench after conceding. This team looks pretty awesome with their regular three (and Zaha of course) but without them, they look almost as if they do belong a division down.

Guess they think mid-table survival's better than FA Cup distractions.
FA Cup isn't interesting for most clubs, they tend to play with substitutes and test them there. Crystal Palace won the game with 2 goals to 0. Newcastle lost its game. Chelsea is leading with 4 goals in the half time although I see them playing with top players.
There will be games between West Ham - Leeds and ManU - Aston Villa that might eliminate a serious threat for the title Roll Eyes

Most clubs in the so-called Big Four or Big Six, I guess, maybe not, at least not in these early rounds. But the trophy's still got a lot of prestige and in my mind, a big chance for the lower sides to get some confidence, get some medals, get some prize money, and don't forget, the winner gets a spot in Europa League too. That's worth a hell lot of money for any team outside the normal league qualification places.

Palace won after fighting back a goal down by the way. Newcastle the biggest shock, Trippier will be having a nightmare or two haha. Amazing games coming up, and we have TWO non-league teams who made it through!

Damn Benzema, I was just this close to getting an exact score and he had to ruin our fun. Not only that, his goal put the Soccer Blackjack into BUST at 22, so it's double whammy for me, how annoying!

casper's still ahead with 3 points for the leaderboard but my heart goes out to PL Guru who actually went for a Granada win. Barca's just so fond of getting themselves in trouble, aren't they?
5604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: January 08, 2022, 06:12:24 PM
@Welsh you've sold me, I'm going to look for a 2/1 odds to take him on though, so hoping the Ngannou hype builds up to 23rd.

In any case, let me draw inspiration from some of my favorite boxers, such as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and others, who all dominated the globe with their powerful hands. I don't want to get into specifics, but I believe Francies will knock Ciryl out in the third round.
Never saw them in person but I personally loved watching muay Thai in my youth, and my favourite fights were shorter fist-heavy fighters (in a sport where boxing is probably the least-favoured method) taking on barrage of kicks and elbows to close in and submit with fists.

We're sick of seeing MMA fighters walk over to the boxing ring to fight under boxing rules; it's past time for boxers to go over to the cage and fight under MMA regulations as well.

+1

P.S. Funny video of the week for me. Forwarded by my kid. Heh.

I just only today noticed something new in my email sent by Sportsbet a few days ago regarding Kabbadi 4-3-free promo and it looks quite interesting I've to say, or rather, I'm much more glad for this rather than cricket lol
I did not know that they have different sports for different regions.

Yeah good for you, Kabbadi is so much more easier to predict than cricket, especially for us Europeans who don't even know what Kabbadi is  Grin Tried googling it but I am now even more confused  Huh

I hope to see more tennis promos personally and I am sure we will get at least something for AO. I am a bit disappointing we don't have a market like "Will Djokovic attend this year AO?". If we had presidential elections, then this one is gold for sure.

Steve mentioned Kabbadi some time back maybe even pre-Covid and something about Sportsbet trying to locate a new sport to follow and help in its rise. The Youtube videos are pretty interesting but you know how it is, every sport highlights the best, like I LOVE kick volleyball (the weird English name for my local sport "sepak takraw") but in general it's only really good to watch at a high tournament level, and the rest of it's pretty shit heh. But you could say the same for football and tennis anyway!

Let us know if you find that "Will he or not" market. I'm going yes if odds are like Trump yes or Brexit yes (which I happily won back then) =D

Levante just scored in a solid match against Mallorca, very offensive and good football
they are on a road to their first win this season, in which they are scoring well, but conceiving a lot

2-0 it ended, and surprisingly quite a few of us in the pool backed the home win, I was going for a draw till yesterday and changed my mind, pretty amazing to have to wait this long for a first win, their fans must be happy. But they will have to string a few wins to survive the drop, so not sure I'm picking them often.

But does anybody else here think Celta Vigo is worth betting on against Sociedad? I'm considering it heavily because Sportsbet specials have Iago Aspas to score but Sociedad to win, and they are also the Super Boost selection. I would have gone for Correct Score but market's not available at the moment.

I took all specials today as all were high, so yeah hoping Sociedad wins but Aspas scoring is almost a given. They're in the lead already so great I guess. I did make a weird hedge though, Celta to win at HT paired with a live game... so I'm losing that unless they got 10 mins to get 2 in. Still, this could go either way and a draw looks suspiciously possible.
5607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +78295 units on: January 08, 2022, 03:10:31 PM
Just started watching City and crazy Pep fileded 9 players from usual first 11 plus Palmer and keeper.

Your only chance is money back tonight. Sorry mate for pointing this game to you. I hate Pep roulette. That guy screwed me so many times in fantasy. I feel like he is doing it on purpose.

Don't be sorry, I got the bet back... McKilder actually had a great night (not being objective but comparing the quality of the team vs City). He gave them a few scares, almost scored from a keeper mistake, and their right-back was actually having some good old fun. City took 3 yellows in this game but of course there was no doubt as to the outcome once the lineup was clear.

Also, I snagged a nice Gladbach win, and here's my pick of the day taking advantage of Super Boost on La Liga:
100 units on Gaziantep (live) and Celta Vigo HT win @7.84. Other odds: 7.10
Units advantage: 74
Bet ID: 61d96b7f5c110c81abb5548d

Running advantage after 99 bets: +11287 (+74)
All-time cumulative: +78,635
Running units after 98 bets (13W|85L): +2773 (+576)

It is almost pointless to play anyway while we have covid postponements, unless those games will count once they actually get played. Has there been talk about that?

If you guys play it this week, just remember some of the big hitters are on AFCON, most notably Salah and Mane for Liverpool.

Yeah, agree. I haven't bothered to put in picks anyway since it's error-strewn right now (for me). Hasn't been any discussion about how games count though, although the last edition they changed the rules for a one-off only need 5 picks to win a freebet. Saw it in my email but I couldn't play anyway.

Personally, I want them to continue/extend the 4+1 all season. Kind of addicted to that one.
5609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 08, 2022, 02:34:48 PM
Seems a bit harsh. I don't think he's an excellent player, but he's impressed me more often than not when I've seen him play. He's good enough for Watford let's put it that way, and they've been doing great this season. I do agree with Welsh though, that his speed and size probably aid him and I have seen him tear through half the pitch before.

https://talksport.com/football/1010942/premier-league-transfer-news-gossip-done-deals-liverpool-man-united-chelsea-arsenal-newcastle-aston-villa-everton-tottenham/

Philippe Coutinho has signed with Villa. Never saw that coming. Kieran Trippier has also gone to Newcastle. Wonder if the Geordies will sign a big name this year. Not sure I'd put Kieran Trippier in that bracket.

On retrospect yeah, I was probably commenting in the heat of moment. I would definitely have been kinder had he worn a red shirt. Just that guys like him, Pogba's another, I watched them when younger and they were brilliant (I've got a thing for those swashbuckling rampaging runs) and to see them sputter and flail about is... sad, I guess.

Coutinho, back in EPL, and under Gerrard. I always wished he'd stayed on. I guess he would never have suited Klopp, so it all worked out in the end, but yah never thought he'd come back actually. Thought he might even have gone to Germany, but I wager he's a good fit for Villa and if he gains his confidence back, he's more than a worthy successor to Grealish.

I am with jackg on his initial response. Not with very much conviction, but because I note with a certain degree of hesitancy to go down the road with bears just so soon. The last ATH was still pretty underwhelming for me, building up only several thousand on the previous, so I feel like serious bulls are also keen to see a determined Pullback before putting chips back on the table.

And, also, the 40k bounce could coincide.

Nice profit for me on last night's upset. Went for a Halftime win for Gladbach actually and would have gotten better odds for a fulltime win but still pretty pleased. Memory of them trouncing bayern 5 to nil proved ominous.

Game itself wasn't so pretty. Wayward and haphazard passing. Gladbach probably surprised themselves to take two quick goals. Advantage BVB today I hope.

You guys gone and outdone yourselves again Steve and co. That's two seasons running you've paid out on outrights just after mid-way point in the league. Looking forward to an early payout for Liverpool next one Wink

@buwaytress no harm in trying your luck, and let me guess for Champions League you want them to pay outright for Liverpool winning it right?.

No point in outright for them making it to the final haha. But yes, it's a bet I've been making every season since Klopp took over (Europa for the first season). Was about 7/1 pre-season, I'd want to do a double or treble one though to pad up my earnings *coughcough

I admire your conviction brother, I really do. We are good enough to win the CL, FA Cup, League Cup. I think City have one hand on the title though sadly. It would take a pretty epic choke job for that to not happen now. I will gladly settle for making it 7 CL wins though Smiley

Been drinking the Liverpool Hopium for too long to give up now. EPL's known for drama, we need another chapter starring Pep in a different role. The footballing gods demand it!

A sole 7th Ol' Big Ears would make us the envy of England, though. I'm not against seeing more tears in Sterling's eyes. Am I mean like that?
5614  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to Hit $150,000 in 2022 on: January 07, 2022, 03:07:20 PM
If dumping were to ensue, that would hardly be a correction.

Yeah, and I also won't call this a correction, maybe we are indeed in a bear market?

So from a new all time high to probably $20,000-$30,000 sell off, that is huge already, however, this is just a start and maybe it will be a slow grind for this year and it's going to be ugly and painful for the majority to see the price goes down that low. So just hold on anything right now, gonna be a bumpy road.

All things relative. For Bitcoin to experience as deep a low of 15% of ATH (March 2020 low being that of about 15% of 2017 ATH) isn't unusual, so by the same percentage we should expect even $10,000 at some point. But yes, $30k from almost $70k in this short a timeframe would really be outside the boundaries of "correction".

No pain no gain, for me. Always a win-win no matter how the market pans out today. The eternal tomorrow's where my sight's always been set.

^ MajSev has been buggy, my last post here reported that. And no, you can't edit submissions. Tried many times when I thought I could change my mind (the first season you could edit as much as possible).

I think what you thought you later submitted was in fact sent to the next round. I couldn't even submit picks as I keep getting error messages (as already mentioned in my last post).

Hope Tornike and crew find a way to fix it Wink
5616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 07, 2022, 11:39:31 AM
Also little birdie told me that Sportsbet will do something for AO, so I am waiting for the promos Smiley They were great last year on GS. For every win of your outright choice you get 0.5 mBTC free bet or something like that.

Outrights actually is where I'm thinking for sure cause my money would have been tucked away on every Djoko special I know Sportsbet loves to do, so I can kiss that goodbye =( He's done me 15/1 and 30/1 specials at least two times already (maybe even 3 I can't really recall).

The only outright on AO I know of is on Fairlay. Couple of days ago men's selection was up but no longer available. For women's Barty is 6/1 but she's not winning heh. So yeah, only makes sense if you get that kind of freebet promo, otherwise your pick exits from Covid and you're out of luck. Then again, no better time to bet every day with boost on 10/1+ selections?
5617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin now officially in Bear-Market: -20% down - Dropping like a Rock on: January 07, 2022, 10:38:28 AM
I'm not sure I'd say we're in a bear market yet.  This still seems like correction territory to me.  Granted, it's closer to bear market territory than I'd like it to be.  We're still in the comfort zone at the moment though.  I think things will start getting uncomfortable around $39K and below that will feel like a bear market.  At the moment though we could be in a trading range between $42.0K & $69K.  Until that breaks, this could be viewed as a buying opportunity.  Especially seeing the sentiment in the market expecting it to drop further.  The bulls have been liquidated enough, there should be some bears on the menu before long.

Neither I. Actually was waiting for a bounce now that 200MA is pretty much under heavy, heavy stress, but I guess it's not coming until (or if) 40k is tested, which I thought would happen yesterday/today.

Like you said though, I'm much happier seeing visible sentiment in fear, unlike not so long ago when everyone was expecting big things on 31 December.

Right, I'm totally not going to add to the drama of whatever you-know-what is going on but my very first bet on AO today just got voided as Nadal had a nice walkover already. Now looking for a next value bet, who's got a tip for good ol me?

Trofo, class act. Show me where to put my money already. I gone done Osaka -5.5 at 18/10 but I feel like I wasted money there.

5619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +78295 units on: January 07, 2022, 09:23:40 AM
Thanks Trofo for that! I didn't get that email and I just checked too, but I'll have a look see and definitely throw $50 in there ha. I almost always take the Watford 1x2 there, and the funny thing is the only 2 games they've ever scored first and then later did not win was the Brentford and West Ham ones just 2 and 3 games ago. West Ham one was worth it at 3/1.

Anyway, seems like forum mods combined my last 2 posts, I guess because they were less than 24 hours from each other. Might have to change the way this thread works now. Just in case someone thought I edited picks. Shame about Napoli, they took the lead but couldn't hold it.

Bayern has a really bad Gladbach to beat, so no way they lose, but maybe they allow the away team to take a lead into half time?

100 units at Gladbach to WIN at HT v Bayern Munich @6.76. Other odds: 6.00
Units advantage: 76

All-time cumulative: +78,561

I'm checking back in to hold Steve to his word. I like EPL and I like my Outrights Wink

Already have a Liverpool outright at 56/10 but don't mind adding more if I see something special for a historic fightback. Still scouting around for good deals but seems like everyone's given up on someone not named City to win anything this season.

Also have outright on UCL, looking for FA Cup maybe a cup double at 100/1? Treble at 1000/1?

Can you blame me for trying my luck? =D
