5601  Other / Meta / Re: Why some high rank still use copper membership? on: January 16, 2020, 03:47:26 AM
It's simply an ownership thing or if you would stretch it a bit - a bragging right. You don't expect a man to throw away his Beetles because he now owns a Lamborghini. Expect Theymos enforces or programmes it to be dropped I don't see it ending anytime soon.
5602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why will you invest in something you know nothing about? on: January 13, 2020, 08:47:20 AM
Most people will invest in anything when they hear something that can make money, they wouldnt bother how the system works. Greediness is the reason why people invest even if they don't know what is it about.
Certainly, a lot of us here did that as newcomers in this industry, buying into coins and tokens we didn't even know what they were all about. However, the truth remains that even knowing what one is investing on doesn't also guarantee success of profitability. Business generally is a risk, a huge risk if I must be blunt.
5603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Musk Tweet, Crypto Manipulation on: January 12, 2020, 05:41:03 AM
@elonmusk tweeted about bitcoin today

Quote
Bitcoin is *not* my safe word

He also mentioned about DOGE & ETH, I believe he is very into crypto and trying to manipulate the pricing  Grin
Of course, anyone who has stay a little over a year in this crypto business knows that the crypto industry is highly manipulated. It's no big deal even if Elon Musk does it. They (the whales) all do and we the shrimps know this  Roll Eyes
5604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the future ?? on: January 12, 2020, 05:36:06 AM
Let's just be comfortable with the fact of Bitcoin being the pathfinder for cryptocurrency and continue to console ourselves with that fact, at least for now. Seeking to know if Bitcoin is the future may not readily find an answer now. I mean, we have had great coins in the recent past that have disappeared through thin air. Where is Bytebal for instance? Something can happen that might upstage the Bitcoin dominance and once this happens, other coins might take the lead.
5605  Economy / Economics / Re: Iran/US tension's effect on crypto and economy ? on: January 11, 2020, 06:05:02 PM
There will no big war between Iran and USA, that is for sure. USA is in no position to take the risk for another big war in the Middle East.
Certainly, the bolded (my emphasis) isn't true at all. Remember it was the US that attacked and killed the Iranian security chief first? If the US weren't prepared for war she wouldn't have hit Iran first. I believe knows it's at a disadvantaged position here with the US. So, she's going to concede that to the US and eat the humble pie.
5606  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Full time trading is boring on: January 11, 2020, 05:21:27 AM
One of the biggest cons of full time trading is being alone , boring sitting in front of computer watching charts data all the time from past 6 moths i am almost doing this and now because of this i am not able to focus on trades. i feel like quieting full time trading and go to job so i make some new friends and Socialness

what you guys do to avoid this biggest cons on full time trading
What you're are doing is "Watching Paint Dry" quit it. It's panic trading. And that should be boring and not good for your health. Rely on TA and choose the longer TF to analyse your trades. Once your calls are made, set your exit and determine your SL parameters and leave the computer alone.
5607  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So traders, how much You lose? on: January 09, 2020, 07:30:10 PM
Loss is a part of gain, metaphorically speaking. It goes to show the saying - No pain, no gain. No trader can truthfully boast of not having losses trading. It's not possible. Even whales do make bad calls from time to time. But what matters the confidence and ability to recover from the bad call made.
5608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How i presently feel about bounties on: January 09, 2020, 09:52:16 AM
I still like to promote projects that have good potential whether they are paying huge or small allocation, it still goes on how good the project is and how it managed to generate funding, I stopped looking on the bounty and only concentrate if the project will become successful in the market.
The truth remains that it's very difficult pinpointing these projects with potentials which eventually end up achieving the aims for which they're set up for. Most of these promising projects end up getting abandoned on the way and causing all who have hoped in them severe disappointment. Talking about the reward pool, I rather go for one with huge reward than one with a few tokens.
5609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Honk Honk! the Clown World Token on: January 09, 2020, 06:17:03 AM
Another funshit token like Dogecoin, right?  Roll Eyes It's really funny how these tokens spring up and cloak the whole crypto space. There should be sanity in this industry and that's why l am all in for regulation.
5610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Projects and Bounty . Way forward?? on: January 06, 2020, 10:40:16 PM
Because a lot of scams occured in crypto most people lose trust on crypto and don't know what to choose and because they are new and are afraid to not get scammed, hope there can be a way to stop this and all people to research before invest.
Not only new members of the forum fall prey to scammers. Even old members like us also get deceived by the scumbags. Really, this is a difficult terrain to navigate and that's why we need regulations in a way so as to curb this menace. If you must get into bounty, choice scantily and also from reputable Bounty Managers. That way it saves you the headache of constantly getting scammed. It reduces the chances of one getting, not that it completely takes it out anyway.
5611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto history making year 2020 started it's journey ! on: January 05, 2020, 06:30:37 PM
I believe 2020 should be great for Bitcoin and by extension the entire crypto industry just like what we saw in 2017. Besides Bitcoin halving this year, the tension of war between the US and Iran has already set the tone and we can observe the demand for Bitcoin rising, at least that's my observation from the CMC. Nice year for the crypto community and we expect new money to roll in.
5612  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you hold on a trade. on: January 05, 2020, 04:51:51 PM
trading has been a difficult process for novices and minor traders. it could be tempting most times if you dont understand the market movement and TA. you might loose patience and cancel out a trade you might regret later. i have cancel out many trades that later ended up in huge profits. i have also cancel some successfully. i just curious to know if there is any sure way to this trading were by you hold on a trade.
There is no sure way to this. Remember this is a highly speculative business, even the TAs deployed don't always tell the right stories. Most times it depends on luck to strike it the right way and remain in it till hugely profitable. Everyone here must've had their own share of regretful trades. Just know it's part of this business.
5613  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you ever trade at work? on: January 05, 2020, 11:12:57 AM
Do you ever trade at work or trade on your work computer? Any reason why you think this might be a terrible idea?
I think this isn't a good idea. It invariably means that one is using up company's time for one's private business. It's time theft and it doesn't look good, if one has a conscience anyway. You do this and you expect to be paid in full for the time you use in running your own business? For me this should only be permissible when one is on lunch break.
5614  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: US- Iran Tensions boost Bitcoin price to $24,000 on: January 05, 2020, 09:21:13 AM
War is just a matter of time. This kind of attack may lead to upcoming war which become great business opportunity for selling military armaments using fiat or digital assets. It might help to boost crypto price
The American Republican strong men are arms and ammunition dealers. So, it's even to their advantage that the US should go into a war. It aids their business. On the other hand, it's becoming a pattern that whenever the US is in acrimony with another country Bitcoin price tends to soar. I observed this also during the China-US trade war. And now, this.
5615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is buying Bitcoin in Iran? on: January 04, 2020, 06:48:47 PM
Apparently the price has trebled on the local Bitcoins market. So is it rich people trying to preserve their wealth, or is it people using it for everyday purchases?
I go with the first premise. Demand is surely surging and here is the link to that news https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-selling-for-24-000-per-btc-in-iran-as-us-tensions-escalate

Many people see Bitcoin as a safe Haven, especially when the dollar is in doubt or in crises. If the rich don't want to stock their cash in the JPY or CHF, Bitcoin certainly provides them an alternative, especially when they know it's internet money and can be accessed from anywhere in the world. The heat is already on in Iran.. Their economy may be in shambles if they decide to go to war with the US.
5616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: January 04, 2020, 01:38:51 PM
One day, I think to myself about how to spreads bitcoin to other people. After I create threads https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5191717.0, I see many of us don't try or don't have time to come into a gathering or make a meetup. So how we can introduce bitcoin to local people in our country if we are not trying to tells them about bitcoin? I know that will related to the regulations in every countries but we can introduce to our close friend so they will spread it into their closest friends too.

And if this is succeed, I think cryptocurrency will grow step by step. I know we can spread bitcoin online, but that doesn't mean all people in your country are aware of bitcoin. How they can know bitcoin if they never use the internet to search the news while we can tell them about bitcoin and another coin by offline.
"A good product sells itself." If you've heard of that axiom before you will understand why things are the way they're with Bitcoin. A lot of people believe Bitcoin news will spread around like a wildfire even though it's a gradual process for it to catch on since it's a good product. Again, a few are reluctant to to the talking for Bitcoin since it doesn't have a referral programme like many other cryptos have. Thus, the lack of evangelism for Bitcoin.
5617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next big thing in crypto? on: January 04, 2020, 10:18:17 AM
The space is definitely maturing, but the level of demand is still a lot less than it was back in 2017.
I read somewhere that it was the halving of Bitcoin in 2016 that gave birth to the new money entry into cryptocurrency in 2017 in pursuit of ROI (they achieved this). However, it was a sad experience though that those who made the ROI never ploughed the money back into the industry. Rather they took out the money and invested elsewhere and that demoralized the market - leading to its crash. It shouldn't be a gloom this year. I expect new money to flow into cryptocurrency this 2020 and rebuild withered confidence.
5618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Believes Dogecoin “Will Go To The Moon” on: January 04, 2020, 07:44:57 AM
Until McAfee is able to steady and stabilize his decentralized exchange - McAfeedex, I don't think many in the crypto community will want to take him seriously for his word. I know he is renowned as an Anti-Virus guru in the software business but cryptocurrency is a different ball game. Dogecoin is just a lousy project, BTW.
5619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to protect your crypto against a natural disaster? on: January 03, 2020, 08:24:18 PM
I think "death" should also comprise natural disaster too. Well, the OP might have a reason for either a deliberate omission of it or not but we should always realize that death is more inevitable than any other disaster. Going forward my method to safeguard my cryptos against any earthquake or whatever would be to store my Private Key/Passphrase online. In my email to be specific. But I would have to split the secret letters into two and his them in two different emails addresses. That way a hacker will have to break my two different email addresses before s/he can get a hold of the complete access to my largesse.
5620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will China Accept Bitcoin As A Currency? on: January 01, 2020, 12:03:32 PM
For me, I don't give a hoot if China accepts Bitcoin or not. Whenever I remember that infamous ban of Bitcoin by the Chinese government in 2017, I feel disgusted towards China. So, if they want to make a U-turn from their previous stand now that the rest of the world is making a go for mass adoption should be immaterial to the Bitcoin community, honestly. Shame on China.
