5621  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: what happens when someone scam in ico? on: September 13, 2017, 08:46:33 PM
People think that regular "police" can do something about stuff like this are ridiculous at best. Let's put the Cybercrime division aside (not all places have this anyways). What exactly are they going to do? Let's say your local police found out the likely identity of someone. That someone is possibly a criminal, and is located several thousand kilometers away. Unless we are talking very big numbers and very good proof, then that is going nowhere.
Now, what usually happens in a scam ICO is that we're talking about anonymous people (e.g. often teams made up of fake images taken from online with fake names or completely anonymous). If they manage to *clean* their coins through mixers and other anonymous coins such as Monero, there is *almost 0%* chance of them ever getting caught. All you have to do in the end is to make sure you sell into cash P2P, anonymously and stay far away from the place where you sold. Now when you put into perspective how *easy* it is to pull off such a scam (maybe not that easy of a big magnitude, e.g. several millions), that makes you wonder why anyone in their right mind would invest into anything without proper due diligence and projects that don't have any escrow agents. "A fool and his money are soon parted". Roll Eyes

Side note: Wrong section. Maybe trading discussion?

HAHAHA

Pretty nice job SABOTA!

Like i say to you few weeks ago! Many exploiters, we need to take care of our section!
Now if only the busted member and his "friends" or "alt" accounts could stop coming up with excuses and PM-ing me to remove my rating, that would be great. Roll Eyes
5624  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bought Account on: September 13, 2017, 08:18:18 PM
Thanks for all of your answers, I have understood them well.
Do not get me wrong, I've said I never bought an account, I asked with the desire to add experience in this forum
Tl;dr: If you're honest, there is absolutely no reason to buy a second account, let alone more.

Nothing is ever 100%. Sure, there could be some outstanding posters who bought accounts, but I don't know who they are.  That's rare. Most common is the use of a bought account by some lazy third world scunt who only wants to shitpost or scam. Can't tell who's who ahead of time, so I neg 'em all.  I have removed negs in the past when someone turned out to be OK--my ratings don't mean much anyway as I'm not on DT.
The amount of outstanding posters that are actually bought accounts is so low that it shouldn't even be considered if a rule change (which is badly needed) regarding account sales were to be considered.
5625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 13, 2017, 02:50:07 PM
Isn't it *nice* having this much vocal influence? You just open short positions, and say some nonsense FUD about Bitcoin and enjoy the profits. Unfortunately, Bitcoin as an entity itself can't fight back about those defamatory statements. Angry
5626  Economy / Reputation / Re: hashforce101 - My suspicions about being bought account on: September 13, 2017, 02:22:49 PM

I mean, it doesn't seem like he's been doing anything towards scamming. Usually they would try and get an escrow job, etc etc. So far he hasn't seemed to take a step towards scamming, but more one towards earning a trusted name on the forum. I do agree however that the sudden change in post quality is the worrying thing. A post gap of one month can't really be put forward as incriminating evidence.
You don't have to explicitly offer escrow services. He is trying to (quote from OP) "whom started offering project managing services lately." which can often end up being a bundle of holding campaign funds and managing it.
5627  Economy / Reputation / Re: FUD Gang on: September 13, 2017, 02:21:10 PM
Other than being an illegal security, it has no basis for suing anyone. You can trash talk AMP all day long if you want to. If you think someone is intentionally trolling then you should take that up with the moderators.
Are you a lawyer, can you say that for sure? Because the laws around cryptos are very vague.
You don't need to be lawyer. You can: 1) Consult your own lawyer. 2) Read the laws, do research and make a reasonable conclusion. If you can't sue people for "FUD-ing" Bitcoin, then you can't sue them for "FUD-ing" AMP.

It's funny how everyone thinks about any coins that it's somehow an "illegal security", like a guy I have talked with said the same thing about Steem. Others are claiming that about Dash too... It's really funny.
No. I don't recall whether Steem was an ICO or not, but DASH was not (although this coin is arguably a scam by Evan, but that's a different debate). If you're running an ICO on mETH for a token, and you've not registered this sale, then it's an illegal security.

In my opinion it's not a security, it's a crypto token that powers an app, the same way that Bitcoin or any other coin would any other app.
The law does not care about your opinion though.

Looking the grammar change, as well as the posting gaps between late 2016 and mid 2017 it does look like that it is either a bought or hacked account. I wonder if we can find a confirmed password/email change in the seclog. I'll try finding that *archived* variant. If he outright ignores or refuses to provide a signed message without a decent reason, then his account is ripe for tagging in my eyes.

This is the reply i got from him, did not get any reply before making this thread:

To me it looks suspicious as well, i do not think that for a long time bitcointalk member, it would be possible to lose the addresses he used to sign messages with in the past.
"Bought a new wallet"? Cheesy What a lame excuse (as in who "buys" a Bitcoin wallet other than hardware wallet, which I'm sure is not what he meant). I'm almost 99% convinced that the user in question has bought their account.

Has hashpower done anything questionable recently?
Read the OP again and you'll understand.
5629  Economy / Reputation / Re: FUD Gang on: September 13, 2017, 12:24:40 PM
Your point being? Take this up to the courts then. I'm not going to play a lawyer with negative ratings.
It's not my job, I am not affiliated with the organization, I am just an AMP token holder. Now I don't know the status of AMP whether it's like a property of the company or public in nature like BTC. I have no idea I am not a lawyer.

Are you kidding me? You really though that was an actual question from me? Sigh.
Yes that was a question, since it had a question mark at the end.
It does not seem that you've got proper education. Here, I'll help you improve: Not a question that needs answering.
5630  Economy / Reputation / Re: FUD Gang on: September 13, 2017, 12:14:45 PM
@Diego24 please stop making several consecutive posts as you're breaking the forum rules. See here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0.

So you're telling me I should sue pretty much any fool or news outlet that spread FUD about Bitcoin / crashed the price due to this FUD?
No you can't do that because Bitcoin doesn't have a legal personality thus, people can say anthing they want against Bitcoin.
Are you kidding me? You really though that was an actual question from me? Sigh.

Here on the other hand they are calling Synereo which I believe is "Synereo Inc.", which is a registered business with a legal personality, some of the trolls are calling them a scam, while providing no evidence. I believe this can be interpreted as defamation.
Your point being? Take this up to the courts then. I'm not going to play a lawyer with negative ratings.
5631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: September 13, 2017, 10:21:49 AM
Will not see any signs that the price goes back to the former level,  even under such circumstances when the price of btc falls, and  the last change to the distribution. Sad..
If the price is the only thing that matters to you, then you've come to the wrong thread. Go to some shitcoin or random ICO and spam/hype it. I don't necessarily agree with the changes to the distribution, but I see where they're coming from and they're definitely more than reasonable.

Think of it this way: $200M in crypto is nothing, it's pumped and hyped out of thing air in seconds.
The whole idea of market caps for currencies is ridiculous at best, and no indicator of anything. There are way too many ways to manipulate that, one example would be masternodes. It's easy to pump something to new levels when you have less than half the supply on the market.

Now, compare $200M in real world applications: it can buy 10,000 nice cars! And that's what Byteball is targeting: real world applications!
Indeed.

So tell me what is BTC?
If you don't understand what BTC is, then you're either a baboon or a dinosaur, or both. Roll Eyes

I will answer you BTc is nothing.
Scratch that, you're just an idiot.

Keep drinking the current financial system's kool-aid. That's where the true fraud lies. Do you think it's just a coincidence that almost no school in the world teaches you about money or where its value comes from? Cheesy
5634  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 13, 2017, 06:50:32 AM
I had not expected that down movement. This now forces me to change my plans. This does not look too bad:

Bitstamp | Total bids: 55338478 USD. Total asks: 3855 BTC. Ratio: 14354.81375 USD/BTC. | Data vintage: 0.0259 seconds

LOL ... this puts Jamie Dimon into perspective:

Two numbers that stand out:
Over $13b in fines paid by JPM because of fraudulent mortgage practices
Over $1b in separate fines paid because of its role in the Madoff scheme.

All under Jamie's watch. But it's Bitcoin he's worried is the FRAUD
Truly ironic, when the CEO of the fraud bank JPM which got bailed out with billions claims Bitcoin is a fraud. Roll Eyes Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of Bitcoin knows that it can not be a fraud. Bitcoin is neutral.

Again only fools and idiots would be selling now...... or i'm wrong ?  Huh
selling at the potential top of a bubble to take x5-x6 profit from 800 dollars doesn't seem so foolish
Selling at $4k, when the top was $5k is truly foolish.
5635  Economy / Reputation / Re: Can someone help me? to give negative trust to my hacked account on: September 13, 2017, 06:33:56 AM
Bump please give negative trust Cry.

Hackers try to trade in local forums (bahasa indonesia). I'm just afraid people are scammed by the hacked account (mudra102)
I've already explained to you that nothing is going to happen until you either:
1) You provide adequate proof of ownership of that account.
2) The account does something malicious and gets a negative rating for that.

Nobody will tag it solely because of your words.
5636  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bought Account on: September 13, 2017, 06:26:41 AM
Also, many people don't have the time to build up an account.
If you don't have time to invest in this community, then go somewhere else. Stop being self-entitled and spoiled brats. A simple rule change would solve most of this forum's problems, without killing its ad revenue.

To add, the buying and selling of accounts is allowed on this forum. Even if it is looked down upon.
Which is a fundamental flaw that is pushing genuine members away.
5637  Economy / Reputation / Re: FUD Gang on: September 13, 2017, 06:24:47 AM
Can you stop getting random AMP investors to post random confirmations here? It isn't helping.

I'm honored , but there is no thing like a 'AMP fud gang'  Most damage ( 99 percent ) is done by founder Dor Konforty you should blame him.
Care to elaborate on the latter?
5638  Economy / Reputation / Re: FUD Gang on: September 12, 2017, 09:23:05 PM
I confirm the words of profitgenerator212, I have been following this topic for a long time, I am an investor of AMP
That is definitely sufficient proof that there has been an organized attack by a malicious group of people. /s
5639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - the scheme is being pumped hard now don't fall for the trap on: September 12, 2017, 09:02:48 PM
It was flawed and on a level of code that is often produced by high-school developers. MIT did the job for you: https://medium.com/@neha/cryptographic-vulnerabilities-in-iota-9a6a9ddc4367.  Roll Eyes
We know their opinion. Now answer my question.  Cheesy
You're diverting away from the article into something that has no relevance. This behavior is common with chronic scammers. I wonder if you are one. Smiley

Don't derail convo with Byteball, please.
A project that is trivially superior to IOTA. Cheesy

Just received my airdrop 2 days ago. Just wanted to confirm that all works just fine. Thanks dev for free Bitsend coins. Fastest sync wallet in crypto World.
Yes, the synchronization was perfect for me either.
very good job, I met this coins a little too late, but I will work hard to become a masternode holder Smiley
Same here. Sync  within 60 mins.
It should be even faster with 0.14.0.

hello what kind of airfield can I have missed something ??
There is no "airfield" of any kind. There is an Airdrop; read the thread before responding.

but now i realize that this coin can not be mined with nvidia :X
You could, given the existence of a GPU miner for Nvidia. The problem is that nobody was able to produce an easy to compile, working and stable release of such. There's even an open bounty for it.
