Why give @theymos so much Merit in this post? Huh He has no need for it  Grin Grin Grin

Keep those Merits for us!

You can have it too (you are doing quite well, I see), just do something that other members may appreciate.

Merit system is well thought out decision (tranthidung pointed out it's advantages above), forum members appreciate that and give theymos merit as token of appreciation.

5622  Other / Meta / Re: Does this post deserve 10 merit? on: August 16, 2019, 04:02:36 AM
Quite possibly, it could have been a typo, @BlackBaron meant to send 1 merit and mistakenly send 10.

Don't want to drag this any further, just a thought lol.

ps: Tag system would be good idea, I think.

5623  Local / Press & News from India / Re: Reliance Jio to Install one of the biggest Blockchain Networks in World in India on: August 16, 2019, 03:42:48 AM
Telegram is blocked by Indian ISPs

Since when? I use Telegram daily and I have never seen any censorship when it comes to the usage of a messaging app. Especially telegram.

I should have been more specific.

Jio has blocked Telegram web links. When you try to open any telegram web link(s) under jio network, it will give you site can't be reached error.

However, telegram chat app is working fine.

5624  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for a cheap (Linux) VPS (or sponsorship for loyce.club) on: August 15, 2019, 04:08:06 AM
I can personally vouch for Virmach and time4vps, have been using them since a year and haven't encountered any downtime yet. Plus customer service of both of them is excellent, you would get reply within couple hrs.

They both accept cryptocurrencies.

Use leb30 on virmach for 30% recurring discount.

Use THR on time4vps for one time discount (sorry, I forgot how much discount was it lol)

Try them, I am sure your experience will be pleasant with them Wink

5625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: August 15, 2019, 03:13:40 AM
I have a problem with wallet synchronization. After restart, synchronization does not resume. It is keeps saying, "Connecting to peers." I did a Veil wallet reinstallation and sync, but that doesn't fix the problem. There is no shift even after a few days.

If you are looking to send coins then try minimizing this window and send, it might work. I had same problem but transfers worked for me.

Also, if not already, ping this guy, he'll help you out with veil technical problems: https://t.me/GrumpyVeil

I usually think about spending this 'free' money on shopping, but as you might have guessed I keep playing and lose it all, and then I wonder, why didn't I withdraw?

5628  Local / India / Re: MERIT FOR INDIA SUB on: August 14, 2019, 03:26:06 AM
Just had a quick look, most of those quoted threads are no longer functioning. They aren't even up to date with merit system (since September 2018, jr membership requires 1 merit, not 0).
5629  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The english language improvement thread on: August 14, 2019, 03:22:11 AM
I started watching Hollywood movies with subtitles, it helps a lot.

Previously, I used to watch those movies dubbed in my native tongue, believe it or not, when you watch dubbed it loses bit of meaning which it's original version had.

Oh, I probably went off topic. Anyway, I meant, watch English movies with subtitles, if you want to improve your English — you will improve your vocabulary, you will be automatically able to frame sentences and also don't stop if what character says goes over your head, it'll improve over time.
5630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if anyone hacked your account then who is responsible??? on: August 13, 2019, 03:27:50 AM
You if you didn't take care of security, exchange — if negligence was on it's end and of course the hacker who let go of his morals.

Some tips : 1) Use 2fa 2) Use strong password (use password manager) 3)Don't have your email's 2fa code linked to your mobile number. 4) If you don't actively trade then put your funds in hardware wallet

5631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forkdelta ridiculous order book on: August 13, 2019, 03:20:44 AM
I've been trading on forkdelta for some specific tokens and there's a lot of problems with order book bid price is higher than ask price when trying to sell on a bid price it says order has been filled, if order is filled why it's still in the order book and also the lower price orders filled rather than high price orders and order book not updated for hours even if trading pair is too active, i can't examine the real buy sell prices at forkdelta is there any solution for that or it'll goes like this.

It's api issue, which even after improvement, hit or miss. Better trade there when you have no other choice left.
5632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The British company Paysend has released a new stable currency XDR. on: August 13, 2019, 03:04:46 AM
Interesting. If I am correct, Libra is trying to do bit similar. Will keep an eye.

BTW, would you have a look at Twitter/Facebook links on your website, they seem to be not working?

Already so many stable coins out there, so i don't know what a reason why must buy this coins, even with unique feature, but we in the cryptocurrency world, stable coin is stable coin not different at all. For me, i already leave all stable coin. I join in crypto for profits not for stable

Well, we just had a crypto winter. A more than a year of bear market, which is still true for altcoins. Stablecoins are great for such times.

We have many blockchains, having one more stablecoin on Stellar blockchain wouldn't hurt I guess?

5634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency user friendly? on: August 12, 2019, 03:35:41 AM
Cryptocurrency — be your own bank. Most people are not yet ready for it. Mnemonics, private keys and now dpos systems such as eos which is even more complicated to understand, in terms of keys.

This needs to be bit simpler.

5635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Hackers Bombard Chipmixer to Launder at Least 4,836 BTC on: August 12, 2019, 03:21:50 AM
This is bad for Chipmixer.  If the authority decided to investigate on this and targeted Chipmixer to shutdown regardless of the investigation, they can easily do it since they have a proof in their hand that a mixing service had been used to launder a hacked BTC.  I wonder why Chipmixer did not suspend those transactions.., Did they failed to track that those BTC were hacked?

That's the purpose (to anonymize transactions) chipmixer is here for, isn't it?

And I doubt, chipmixer would suspend those transactions, since it would go against the purpose it's providing.

Whatever you have heard is just the FUD which has been spread over globally. I don't understand why people believe such news without confirmation from the government.
Always acknowledge the source from where you are getting the particular piece of information. Analyze the source because most of the times if it isn't from a trusted source then it's probably fake.

As for buying crypto in India you can use peer to peer platforms. WazirX is a trusted peer to peer platform but requires KYC.
You can use Localbitcoins where KYC is not required but is filled with scammers. So you have to dig up and find a trusted trader with high reputation to not risk your money.
Also there is an alternative to WazirX and that is Koinex.

Koinex closed it's shop.

Localbitcoin still working which means government didn't stop them, maybe they just did due to not enough profits.

Many are working, government is not forcing to close any exchange either.

5638  Other / Meta / Does this post deserve 10 merit? on: August 10, 2019, 08:34:44 AM
Whether a post deserves merit or not, it's in the eyes of beholder.

But then I see this,

10 merits?
Single line post?
No substance?

ps: I don't have anything against, the poster guy or the merit giving guy. I just felt like sharing it.

So... What you think?
5639  Local / India / Re: How to buy bitcoin in india on: August 10, 2019, 04:14:10 AM
If the draft gets implemented then law will become very tight, for now it's okayish. You can use p2p sites to buy crypto, like instashift, wazirx or as previously mentioned localBitcoin.

There should be no worries in buying as most scams happen to sellers [More info: https://youtu.be/sbvJ-m_4quM]

Remember to not put any cryptocurrency related remark in transfers.
