Right, I don't think we've seen anything interesting so far on the altcoin scene. As someone put it, it's all a big experiment.
Today, they offer about no interest in comparison with Bitcoin. I am not concerned/interested about the past altcoin scene but rather more with the future.

I kinda hate Altcoins...  but Counterparty (XCP) is on the verge of a working trustless distributed exchange.

https://counterwallet.co/

Pretty interesting to me.

Bit shares is doing it better, I would look into bitshares

The only alts I own are Protoshares, Litecoin, XCP and DOGE.

Bitshares are talking about trustees.  Haven't seen this idea since solidcoin.  I've almost sold my protoshares.

5643  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: April 10, 2014, 01:11:02 AM
This site is probably the worst group of people I have met online. The chat room is multi accounting scammers all buddy buddy with each other.

I was scammed 350 on that site and when the person came in chat the majority of people were laughing about the scam. They were just short of bragging about scamming people. That site will never grow when you can just create account after account and scam in the chat. Anyone doubts it join the chat for 5min and if you don't realize what I'm saying you probably are a scammer yourself.

How is it then, that I, not a scammer in any regard, and a poor poker player in general have been able to transfer out piles and piles of bitcoin over the last couple years playing bitcoin poker online... most of it at Seals?

This feels like a good selling spot ~459 for a quickish trade.  I will buy back at ~421 or so within 72hrs.

This is unbelievable recklessness. There is a chance that we have just now passed the bottom and that 421 will never be visited again. Even if it is, the gain is not too big, too many uncertainties, and the volume is not there - I couldn't even make such a trade due to low volume.

Of course you are probably right...  As to the volume: the prevailing trend on volume is down.  I see nothing to suggest a change yet.  We still need to cross 4/15.

I wonder if it is no coincidence the Chinese picked the US tax day for their dropdead...

Bitcoin will have its day in Congress.

Is that Roosevelt on the right, standing up?

Haha

Yes. There's also no way all these presidents were alive and hanging out together. It is a painting, after all... you can't get too literal because it's clearly not meant as such.

I like how they have GWB on the left (our right) and JFK on the right. Wink

It is entirely possible for Bitcoin's price to hit $100k in 6 months there is absolutely no question about it.

Probable? No. Not yet. And if you want to bet for the outcome, all you need to do is to buy at $420 and pocket 238x gains after 6 months. The probability for this scenario is certainly higher than that, given that Bitcoin already exhibited similar behaviour only 2 bubbles ago. (33% probability for a superbubble right now is too much imo, but I would give 15-20% if asked). In EV terms, wildly profitable anyway.

I am still "mopping up excess liquidity" from bitcoin markets. So if you want to sell at a slight discount to the exchanges, contact me. I have not bought anything, which is a good indication that the selling pressure comes not from the economically informed  Wink

Those puts we talked about are starting to look good again. Wink

I hope you're right about the price.  There are a confluence of unique thresholds around $400...

The reason this is tempting is exactly because of the panicking.  I see it as a possible way that you would help me add to my position without using an exchange. Wink

I think if we do not move up sharply and soon the next support level should be around 325, and I doubt even that holds long.  And I don't see why we would start moving up yet.  Along with bearish sentiment rising we have some sick fundamental issues (china, china, china).

If you anticipate a violent move down OR quick turnaround (but don't know which one), it makes sense for you to buy puts.

Well...  $400US puts @ bitstamp(?) with what expiry date?

I sent a PM by the way...

Are you saying you are truly interested in selling 100btc puts?

Yes, it makes sense in my situation. I am not keen on sending lots of money to exchanges to increase the position (lost some on Gox), but would like to increase it (or pocket the premium if it never goes that low).

TL;DR: You are just panicking. Sell all your bitcoins to me.

I am interested in any kind of deal which effectively means that you will have insurance that your BTC can be sold for $400 regardless of the numbers in any exchange. (It is called "buying a put option"). BTC100 minimum. PM.

Are you saying you are truly interested in selling 100btc puts?

This represents too much of my holdings to play with... but I could be interested in a smaller amount.

Not sure yet.  It's foggy out there now.

From this I can determine that you, unlike me, are a touch typist.

Bad beat?

HOLLAR OUT TO ELLIOT WAVE ANALYSTS

y'all see a five wave decline terminated and a five wave rally on the smaller fractal (5min chart)? the volume makes perfect sense, all fourth waves are wedges, all fractals in tact. the next rally will either be a 3 or a five. the implications are critical. If panic has truly been resolved, the next rally will swiftly pass 540 and maybe 560.

3200 is critical on Huobi. if we break that level, it is highly bullish.

Well here comes try #1.

*Bink*

Since that one was taken, more than 1 million € is invested to the building. My estimate is that 2-4 million more will be required in 3 years.

If full of hotel customers, it can generate 3 million revenue per year. Cost side is less than 1 million. Of course the trick is how to keep it full or how to pay the million in case the house is empty. Wink

This is a Bitcoin project - if Bitcoin succeeds, not only I have lots of money, I also have lots of customers flocking to see me and each other.

If Bitcoin fails, I have neither money, nor customers, and will have to sell it at a loss.

C'est la vie  Grin

It makes me think of this... maybe you need to buy a cloak with a popped collar?

5658  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: March 27, 2014, 08:49:21 PM

We probably need capitulation first. I think under $300 might do it. When the forum threads go totally negative and no one is hating AnonyMint any more then buy. Hehe.

Oh God... we ARE doomed.
5659  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 27, 2014, 06:23:07 PM

That's me saying that your charts are meaningless. Start creating charts in a way, that they could predict the right outcome at least 50% of the time, and there would be some meaning.

Lol.  The fact you chose 50% as your number there is kinda funny when you think about it.  Any other number is way better. Wink

I've never really understood the allure of custom forum development when mature extensible solutions like vbullitin exist and are most certainly capable of handling bitcointalk's throughput...

To be honest SMF is not so bad either really...
