I wonder, if you look at all Bitcoin securities, if they really are that more likely to fail than others. I mean it is far easier to fund your company using Bitcoin and even in the regular financial world most start-ups simply fail.

Every business can run into difficulties and fail. However, there is a big difference between a business running into difficulties, trying to overcome those and if unsuccessful, fail AND a business which was established with an intention to scam its clients.

is there a reliable cloud mining service mining altcoins and instantly converting them to btc?

No man, nothing out there is reliable.
And especially not at these cryptocurrency prices at the moment.

I do not think there is a single one operational. Does Zeus still offer their overpriced service? Genesis Mining has shut down their scrypt operation.
5664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with my BTC? on: April 07, 2015, 05:05:21 PM
You could probably purchase an account which is full member and participate in a signature campaign. This would be a viable investment only if you are willing to delicate time for forum posts.
Great idea because higher position higher btc you would received . You can also buy & sell btc and invest it so you can earn a big profit

He cant make anything serious with this. In order to get 0.15 BTC per week, he would need to post like crazy. Not many people are dedicated to do that.
5665  Economy / Securities / Re: Anything sustainable worth of investing? on: April 07, 2015, 01:42:46 PM
Ok, thx, will definitely dip a toe into this. For more serious investments, we ll have to talk privately.

I would also suggest you make all that info about you, the actual mining address and everything else related to transparency easily accessible via the website. Most of people avoid these kind of investments due to so many scams around and are generally not ready to dig forums up searching for this info.

Thx

Sure, I can definitely make that happen. I'll make the changes this week. Thank you for the suggestions. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.

Great to hear that. I will be testing it this week, if you do need some kind of honest review or anything similar, pls do let me know. Always glad to help out.

A question, how long does the identify verification lasts and can I apply directly for this or do I need apply and wait for you guys to invite me to do identity verification. I know some people used to wait for your services for a long time even after they applied via the website.
5667  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: April 07, 2015, 01:06:06 PM
Got mine without any problem. But that last block killed me, 5 hours 38 min. Longest since I ve been with Hashnest.
It's the nature of the game--we've had some phenomenal luck recently--it's bound to even out a bit.

Well, it does not luck good today either. Has anyone been with Bit-x, how is it with them, do they pay per block of fixed amount like Genesis Mining?
5668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Losses on: April 07, 2015, 01:04:44 PM
I have not lost that much from my actual investments, all in all, I m in profit. The bigger problem is what I could ve made if I played my cards the right way. So this is a way an opportunity cost of my crypto decision. I have missed a few really nice opportunities, these situations where you think that to do, you select one option and it brings you nothing while the second option would ve brought me 10 BTC, 20 BTC, etc.
5669  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashnest 's newest PACMiC Cloud Mining Contract on: April 07, 2015, 09:09:11 AM
hmmmm, I am new to mining I am only 6 months into it I am not a old VGA card miner were you guys made a fortune off of one card.

Ok, I can understand that. Anywaym diff growth of us to 15% per month (two adjustment of about 7.5% each) s considered moderate. However, we used to face these large spikes some time ago when the base was not that large as we have it now. As soon as the next gen of miners gets delivered, we ll see if these large jumps are gonna come back or not. This low BTC price s also a limiting factor, profit margins are quite thin.
5670  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashnest 's newest PACMiC Cloud Mining Contract on: April 07, 2015, 07:33:30 AM
Hi.

This PACMiC contract pays you the 'total' you invest plus aprox. 5% per contract (100 days aprox.) but it could changed to a more profitable invest if 'btc world' gets 'better' results (you know, when the Whole scenario turn to something very positive the btc trading, mining, etc). So, as I'm testing this contracts, I'm cool with this kinda stuff. Bitmain seems pretty competitive and compromised --at least 'present'-- with btc businesses and little companies.

Hmmm, looks like the BTC DIFF IS GOING THROUGH THE ROOF but then again you never now. If it goes through the roof will pacmic really be worth it then ?

Its just a big gamble I want to buy 2 BTC worth in the worst way but I don't want to throw my coins to the birds either ?

I just don't know which way to go. I am running 2 TH/s already inside my house and cant add no more. OLD USA 50 amp "Main Breaker" 120v service and 120v 15 amp on sub breakers. "Electric is free I don't pay" that's why I wanted to add  2 TH/s more of pacmic with it.

also when you log on to antpool can you see it hashing on the same dashboard screen as your home miners ?

or just wait and save my coins for the S6 which should have new tech low power chips ?

what do you guys think I need ideas ?

What are you talking about, this next diff growth s gonna be the usual trend, 3-5%, if not even lower.  I hardly consider that as going through the roof. Have you forgotten 40% per month we used to have.
5671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have a feeling BTC has slowed down a bit? on: April 07, 2015, 06:11:42 AM
IMO Bitcoin would be much higher if a few top exchanges haven't scammed people millions of dollars. Of course so many people has lost interest and trust in bitcoin and it will take a while to gain it back.

Its not exchanges only, it s small projects as well. Just go take a look marketplace part of this forum. At least 8 out of 10 projects listed there are in the lack of better word, fishy. What other industry s got that kind of ration. Sometimes I read about these project I feel like being on those HYIP monitor websites, I can back in a week and bunch of projects being advertised last week get that "scam" tag.
5672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone realize about this? three BIG banks in three different continents are ... on: April 07, 2015, 06:08:34 AM
I say they do it to get to know their enemy better. Also, I think they are more interested in blockchain technology then BTC.
5673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Marketplace Buttercoin Folds Despite $1.3 Million Investment on: April 07, 2015, 06:07:28 AM
Well 1.3 mill VC can cover your operational costs but it does not guarantee that the you ll successfully cope with the competitions. IMHO, they are just using the lack of VC as a cover up story for them not being able to survive in the market. After all, it is very competitive market.
5674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with my BTC? on: April 06, 2015, 05:12:29 PM
If you do not know what to do with BTC, maybe you should not be in this industry. Lending, mining, staking, VC, startup, so many options.
5675  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ButterCoin CLOSING on: April 06, 2015, 05:05:15 PM
Strange, they have received $1.3 mil VC and they says they were not able to secure enough of VC. Only 9 employees.
I do not think this is the reason for them closing down, maybe they were unable to cope with the competition.
5676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin 500% PoS/PoW hybrid SuperStake on: April 06, 2015, 05:03:18 PM
you can see from the above post he was staking blocks of 1 tekcoin without issue. there may be some advantage to larger blocks staking faster, however you keep earning stake coinage until the blocks mints. longer wait will pay you for more hours. I am not sure what is really the optimal strategy and it may even vary from user to user.

I like to stake 1-2 larger blocks a day myself, just worked out that way for a few reasons for me.

i like to use the console command to shut off staking reservebalance=true 100000000 (some large number). Then i will use getinfo and watch the pos diff and hopefully it comes down to around .0000x (40%) currently it looks like .0011 (20%?). When i choose to mint i enter reservebalance=false and it will stake.

Last month i held off for 5 days staking during a diff spike.. but earned 5 more days of coinage when i turned it on, imagine now though the market was going crazy and you want to sell, do you break coinage? this is why i like to try and keep a sort of even daily amount staking, it lets me access fresh coins often without killing coinage.

So you do merge block to get larger block, right? If you get lots of smaller block, you merge them until they mint?
5677  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fastest Way To Cashout Alot of Bitcoins on: April 06, 2015, 05:00:20 PM
My friend has close to 25000 bitcoins in his wallet. He wants to know the fastest way to convert them into USD. What exchanges exist that support this, if any.

There is no fast way to cash out 25000 btc without getting into all sorts of tax and legal problems. I thought of an eas y way to get potential buyers to contact you. Move all the 25000 btc into one address. Sign the transaction with a message "Forsale" and your friend's email address (a secure one). Post the transaction here and people will contact your friend.

+1

Also, if you would try to cash them out in a short period of time, a day or two, you would decrease the price and effectively lose money. What you need to do is to spread sales over a few months.
However, I would never do it, not at this price. You friend can easily lose 200% of fiat value if he s too hasty.
5678  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Has mining (vs. simply buying) ever been profitable? on: April 06, 2015, 04:57:16 PM
Mining hasn't been profitable in the UK for a long time even with the latest efficient hardware. I've been running my miners at a loss until recently simply because I like supporting the network and its an interesting hobby. It was also creating some heat during the winter months to offset the loss a little.

Now its spring and its warmed up I cant justify the expense any more so have just sold them and doubt very much whether it'll be worth mining again.

Very sad times indeed Undecided.

Well, yes. The era of small house miners, especially rigs, has come to an end. There are some cloud mining options which can still be profitable with constant reinvesting. But 2009-2012 level of mining s over.

How long did it take to get approved for the card and for them to actually send it to you? How long did the entire operation last?
