Instead of pushing over and over, wouldn't it be better to let it drop from the mempool? That way you then can spend those coins using a proper fee.

Whatever rjmacarthy prefers I guess. I rebroadcast manually so I can just stop doing so. Should probably be out of the mempool tomorrow.

-snip-
Does it mean the shorter a address, easier to generate it?Will it be less secure?

Yes, shorter addresses are easier to find, but the security is the same. It would be easier for someone else to create an address that also starts with 1siroh, but the rest would not be the same thus its a different address with the same beginning.

i was also trying to generate a unique bitcoin address. but after nearly 6 days of non-stop letting my pc run, i stopped it. it's just not worth the time.

The longer the pattern the longer the time it will take to search - if you're lucky... it might take only 2 seconds. Anyway, I would suggest you to buy a a VPS from Time4VPS and run vanitygen on them. My computer was running at 350 MKeys per seconds and the VPS I used was running at 500 MKeys per seconds. It took me around 4 hours to generate the address 1JTKingdNGmCfbP8HCbhenoxRQuy8tqZvs (without -i option).

What hardware do you use for 350Mkey/s? Are you sure its million keys per second? because at 37M(!)keys/s it took me a few minutes to get 1JTKingnFGyKqoFvztGVngqpw2qndA6qW5.

My i5 does ~700Kkeys/s and would take ~4.1h for 50% chance, so I guess you used a CPU as well.

i was also trying to generate a unique bitcoin address. but after nearly 6 days of non-stop letting my pc run, i stopped it. it's just not worth the time.

What pattern did you try? Did you use the -i flag so vanitgen (assuming you use that) searches case insensitive?

geht net hat jemand anderen tip?

Ist vielleicht ein bisschen spät, aber kannst Du uns mehr infos geben. Was meinst Du mit "bricht ab"? Stürzt das Programm ab? Wieviele verbindungen zu anderen Nodes hast Du? Wie viel Zeit vergeht zwischen den abbrüchen?
5667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck Transaction - Major Confusuion on: September 28, 2015, 08:13:30 AM
Transaction was removed from blockchain again, not sure what to do next...?

https://blockchain.info/tx/627740cb96fe41937b08d099d3674a3ed6780bc79dd33b41e9b9bbb8462d4ceb

Thanks.

I gave it a push, should be back. You (or others that want to help out) can do it as well btw. Take the rawtx code from above and copy it e.g. here -> https://blockchain.info/pushtx or here -> https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/pushtx/

Anyone that has access to a full node can do the same either via console:

Code:
sendrawtransaction 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

or if you use a headless server via terminal

Code:
bitcoin-cli sendrawtransaction 010000000107479badde5892c76aad23d8edeccb58f6a9733d7c2841ce2af57b856e5af74800000000fc004730440220130aa44baf6a6b8b21952b02504d221eb1d4682f51783069bda66d63634d879c02201075d22bc266cc16380187e757be87ac24bc81f997ff8c3ee76fd61c1bb85fa901473044022073d956bfeabc209aadf4d73f2f4738b1b1bdf1ed1edf5c6003a3bb736b7a4ed40220089b54ce81be403d1bec99c75602e70be11c6bda04e851ec3cc27ed02b8bcb55014c6952210210c1b41172ccac116a4ccd3bf60aeeb708f1c5af738e78f49b88b1ad784e31e9210237830c6846e0a4c3413dbd3b49bdc28e4f2c174c3677712c8e26d2aec3790286210333f4af2d5a408cf92ba7013d327abb073f3fabc57dfc809103326c2207e4c56a53aeffffffff0242a85e00000000001976a914c3517c5c4436a8ade78a40551c2b2cbc3de4fd7b88ac62fb0400000000001976a914c3517c5c4436a8ade78a40551c2b2cbc3de4fd7b88ac00000000

Bitcoin core does still report a low priority though:

Code:
error: {"code":-26,"message":"66: insufficient priority"}
5668  Other / Meta / Re: Should people who promote ponzis in their signature be given a negative trust? on: September 28, 2015, 07:58:37 AM
New question - should people who offer to sell pictures of their boobs for positive trust be given negative trust instead?   Undecided

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1193147

Cmon, dont derail the thread. Besides you should have made a backup of their thread, it was edited and there is just free pictures now.

-snip-
That's my point....People shouldn't get a negative trust for their signature in a signature campaign unless it is "proven" that they're culpable...otherwise, we'd all have negative trust based on popular opinion.

How do you suggest we prove that?
5669  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Manual BTC Trade? on: September 28, 2015, 07:49:21 AM
Is there a way to manually transfer raw bitcoin onto another bitcoin wallet? Say I want to avoid the miners fee, can I meet the guy I'm reading at a MacDonalds, and get him to transfer the fraction of the bitcoin (a certain strong of numbers) onto a USB or something, which I can transfer to my wallet?

Yes, its possible but I would not use it in trade situation. It would require you (or your trading partner) to transfer the private key instead of the coins. You would gain ownership of the address and the coins spendable there, but there is no way to make sure your partner does not have a copy. Since a private key is essentially a long number it is easily stored on any material or device and easily copied as well.

You could still use a paperwallet and "sweep" the private key with your favorite wallet software/app. Sweeping means that your wallet reads the private key and creates a TX that sends all funds to an address generated by the wallet itself. You would still have to pay a fee for this so I dont see any benefit.

Yeah, who knows, maybe somewhere someone nice did something like that.
5671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: September 28, 2015, 06:15:02 AM
Is it possible to sign a message with breadwallet or any other open source wallets like blocktrail or something like that?  I'd prefer to sign a message of mine that has the convenience of not having to download anything on my computer... but then again, I might need too in the long run if I plan on keeping my bitcoins safe... help Huh

Breadwallet (at least the iOS version) does not allow signing and according to this[1] post blocktrail does allow signing either. I did not have the time to test blocktrail myself though so the info might be outdated. Since its only 14 days I doubt that though.

Is there any website we can check this? How important is the decentralization of full nodes compared to the decentralization of miners?

2 Germany
3 France
4 Netherlands
5 United Kingdom

Updated the OP, also changed the topic title. It seems that I forgot to do so on the previous updates, whoops.

Oh yes, I cant put that into the pastebin obviously unless you want a static title and the last update to be part of the post.

My post count shows normal, it might be an easter egg by the forum developers.

Wait till you hit 1337 or 80085
5676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has someone found any btc addy on directory.io with btc in it? on: September 27, 2015, 09:21:53 PM
I do not think that this site has all bitcoin addresses private keys , it is just a joke .. I tried some to check some addresses in the first page and they are completely dry

The private keys and addresses are real, but you are trying to find a grain of sand in a vast ocean.
5677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to Create Unique Bitcoin Address on: September 27, 2015, 09:18:40 PM
it will take a very long time from you if you did it with your computer

try this site if you want free 6 custom characters https://bitcoinvanitygen.com/

Thanks for this man, I am also interested to have a customized bitcoin address Grin Too bad my username has 7 characters , I just wanted it to be free Tongue I'll just use another name

1patatas should take me ~30-60 minutes, unless you want a all lower letters. If you send me the public key for split key vanity, I will calculate the partial private key for you.

With a GTX 970 you have a 50% chance to finding such an address after ~1,185,000 years

Code:
D:\Code\Bitcoin\vanitygen-0.22-win>oclvanitygen.exe -v -i 1sirohigexxxxx
Prefix difficulty: 1915699267367880434540 1sirohigexxxxx

-snip-
[35.58 Mkey/s][total 1117782016][Prob 0.0%][50% in 1.183526e+006y]

1sirohige is much more likely (50% chance after ~21days):

Code:
D:\Code\Bitcoin\vanitygen-0.22-win>oclvanitygen.exe -v -i 1sirohige
Prefix difficulty:       93397949932881 1sirohige

Device: GeForce GTX 970
-snip-
[34.93 Mkey/s][total 1158676480][Prob 0.0%][50% in 21.4d]

1siroh took 2 minutes:

Code:
D:\Code\Bitcoin\vanitygen-0.22-win>oclvanitygen.exe -v -i 1siroh
Prefix difficulty:           1914755626 1siroh
Difficulty: 1914755626

5679  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does anyone actually click on signature campaigns? on: September 27, 2015, 04:51:27 PM
I dont think the number of clicks matter as much as the impressions. Advertising is mostly about staying in peoples heads. If you constantly see the same slogan you are more likely to remember it.

To answer the question form a personal perspective: Yes, I do.
5680  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: September 27, 2015, 01:45:39 PM
playtodos stops their signature campaign on the 5th of October and they don't accept anymore participants? If so, they will be removed from the OP. No reason to keep them in there.
