5661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: November 15, 2019, 03:40:22 PM
Bengaluru managed to make a win against Chennai 3 - 1, and this has moved them reach the fifth position on the table. It was Chennai who have won two titles in the past seasons now at the low bottom of the table. Every match they're performing well, but unable to reach the ball into the post. I believe this time Chennai isn't anymore into the top 4.

Chennaiyin FC is now regarded one of the weakest teams in the tournament. It is true that they were the past champions. But recently they lost their star players and have been struggling. So it is not very surprising to find them at the bottom of the points table. On top of that, players such as Anirudh Thapa, Jeje Lalpekhlua and Jerry Lalrinzuala are not in the best form right now.
Yes, most of the star players of Chennai is missing in this league. There is almost two weeks gap, and the next set of matches were scheduled begin by 23/11/2020. Expect Chennai to come back strong by that time. John Gregory being an able player as the coach tries hard to make the team get back to the winning form. Hope the success begins by this session of the league as players are getting some time to prepare themselves.

Their next match is against Hyderabad (25th November). They are not among the strongest teams out there, so I would say that Chennaiyin will be having a very good opportunity at their hand to get 3 points. Three days later, they will take on Odisha. Right now they are at the rock bottom of the points table, with just 1 point from four matches.

India is going strong in the first test match (predictable so far), terrible day for Bangladesh bowlers without any doubt. now interesting part is What next ?  --Declaration or Continue with batting-- All eyes on Virat, i suppose.
India might continue till Jadeja is in the crease and Virat might delay the declaration until he reaches his century as there is no urgency to declare as there is plenty of time and even if Bangladesh is to draw the match someone has to play a marathon innings and i do not see anyone capable of doing that with the bowling line up India has.

India is leading by 343 runs, and I guess they would like to get as much as possible. But even this lead is enough for a comfortable win against the hapless Bangladesh. I guess the Indians are more interested in getting some batting records against their name, given that the outcome of the match is all but certain. BTW, Mayank Agarwal may be disappointed. He missed the triple century.

Now I am waiting for next match between Deccan gladiator vs Delhi bull already toss happened Deccan gladiator going to bat first and I hope Delhi going to rock today.

Great start by Deccan Gladiators, but Ravi Rampaul is bowling really tight and both Shane Watson and Anton Devcich are struggling to score runs against him. If Delhi Bulls wants to win this match, then they should restrict the Deccan Gladiators within the 100-110 range. Anything more than that, it is going to be tough. The Deccan Gladiators have some very good bowlers, such as Fawad Ahmed and Zahir Khan.
5664  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you use FB's Libra? on: November 14, 2019, 05:11:30 PM
The only attraction i see in Libra is that it is a stable coin and we will have a fixed exchange value and it is suitable for all the traders who are looking for a stable coins that can be trusted, everyone is using the coins that are available in the market right now but the risk is higher and if there is a stable currency from a reputed bank or a company then i can trust then i holding my earnings in that stable coin rather than converting that to fiat currency and that is an advantage you have as a trader. Whether they will fulfill those is yet to be seen as it is difficult to get it regulated.

Facebook is a reputed company, but there always a chance that their funds can get stolen or seized (no matter how small that chance is). So I would say that rather than storing my wealth in Libra, I would store it in the form of physical cash or bank deposits. Libra is more useful for trading and I would not consider it for investment of any type.
5665  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin goes down, no new rich people anymore on: November 14, 2019, 05:05:21 PM
Listening to other traders is a waste of time, and this is because it is very easy to find a trader that thinks that the price is going to go up and then he exposes your arguments to you and then you get convinced about his theories but then you take the time to listen to another trader and he'll have very good arguments of why the price should go down, and you'll be very confused about what to do, the only solution to this is to try to figure out by yourself what the market will do without the help of anyone.

It is your money and you are the one who should be making the call. No one has successfully predicted the Bitcoin prices on a consistent basis, ever since the first coins were mined in 2009. Because it is pure speculation. It is very difficult to predict the supply and demand for the future, given the added layer of anonymity that Bitcoin provides to the users.
5666  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency usage will boost economy or make it worst ? on: November 14, 2019, 04:59:08 PM
The only threat that governments have from bitcoin and other decentralized currencies is the loss of power and control over money. People who are holding these coins can definitely be not controlled by legal authorities. Their assets cannot be tracked or recorded. This also affects the tax system. The fluctuations have nothing harmful in them. They are required in order to get some profits from digital coins.

Ironically, this was one of the reasons why the Libra project (by Facebook) faced a lot of criticism during the recently concluded senate hearings. When the politicians are not comfortable with the freedom offered by a centralized currency such as Libra, just imagine how much scared will they be about Bitcoin. It is decentralized and outside the control of any entity or corporation.
5667  Economy / Economics / Re: Malaysia to Limit Cash Transactions in 2020 on: November 14, 2019, 04:53:36 PM
This would be a good policy if implemented well and with the cooperation of the citizens. There are many challenges that comes with the use of cash and not just limited to money counterfeiting alone. The world is gradually moving  towards a cashless system, this is just the beginning many innovations which many other countries would follow.

No one will be objecting to such measures if it is done on a voluntary basis. But here they are limiting the use of physical cash and forcing the citizens to use digital payment options. And this is where I am not comfortable with the whole idea. Whether I want to use physical cash or digital cash, is up to me. The government has no right to dictate the terms here.
5668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 14, 2019, 04:44:36 PM
Anyone watching the match between Afghanistan and West Indies? Things not looking very rosy for Afghanistan. First of all, they conceded 164 runs in 20 overs, and then they lost the wickets of Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran with just 7 runs on board. Now as usual Asghar Stanikzai is building the innings, with some help from Hazratullah Zazai. But the required run rate is climbing up.
The required run rate is climbing but Afghanistan have the batting power to win the match but they lost their 4th wicket, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and Gulbadin Naib can change the match at any time but Cottrell and Pollard is bowling well for West Indies and if they start loosing wickets then it is game over for Afghanistan.

11.43 runs needed per over and Asghar Afghan got out (doubtful catch) just now. He was the only player who was capable of guiding Afghanistan to a win, and now their chances are close to zero. Mohammad Nabi is batting along with Najibullah Zadran, but both of them are not well known for hard hitting. West Indies is going to win this match. Best of luck to Afghanistan for the next match.

Yes mate you right kohl have take a break from this test series because the test series playing against Bangladesh so he can his place to any young talent to get experience before going to play top test teams like South Africa, Australia.

I can give examples for given chance to young telent, that is Dhoni was done so many time when he is captain to test squad.

They should think about the work load as well. Teams like Australia regularly rest their senior players, in order to guard them from injury related to over-work. India should also think about the same and implement a system which can rotate the players. With such a vast player pool, I believe that India can rest the senior players once in a while without having a negative impact on their winning probability.

Most of the entertainment in the cricket is due to Pakistan and Indian cricketers. The matches are held is AbuDubai so you will expect a lot of Asian players to play there. This is a very short version of the game and it will be very entertaining. I think you should not miss this one.

LOL.. the Arabs don't play cricket. I still remember the 1996 World cup, in which the United Arab Emirates sent a team. Their captain was an Arab (Sultan Zarawani). There was another Arab in the team (Saeed al Saffar), and I think that was the last time UAE had any Arabs in their team. Nowadays their team is 100% composed of expats (Indians, Sri Lankans, Pakistanis.etc).

Finally this has been made as an international league with players from every cricket team getting placed on different teams. Morever more teams seems to represent India and few teams representing Arabian teams. Possibly this will take cricket matches to be played more commonly as the time decreases a lot than a ODI or test matches. Also this serves as a platform to identify more talents.

There are teams that are named after Indian states (Maratha Arabians, Deccan Gladiators, Delhi Bulls, Karnataka Tuskers.etc), but very few Indians are participating in this tournament. The BCCI has banned the participation of Indian players in foreign leagues, which I find very hard to digest. They could at least permit the domestic players to participate in these leagues. For players such as Shahbaz Ahmed, Jay Bista and Siddhesh Lad, tournaments such as this one can beneficial in both financial and skill-learning terms.
5673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: November 14, 2019, 03:49:35 PM
Indian team will try their best to bat 2 full day and i am sure they don't want to bat again after first inning.
Bangladesh does not have a very lethal bowling attack to restrict India with the batting line up they have, Agarwal and Pujara still in the crease and then you have the run machine in Kohli and if Bangladesh could take his wicket then they could try their best to silence the rest of the batsman but the tail is so long for India as the number 8 batsman have a century in Test, so it is a big task to restrict all the players.

I don't understand why Kohli is playing in this test match. This was an ideal opportunity to give some of the younger players an opportunity to make their test debut for India. That is, unless Kohli wanted to add a few more batting records against his name. To put it frankly, I am getting tired of all these one sided test matches. Last month we had a very one sided series against South Africa. And now this one.
5674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters do not need to wait for altcoin season on: November 13, 2019, 06:11:35 PM
Locating a good project has become a real challenge nowadays for hunters certainly. The two main reasons behind these are high competition and high percentage of scams. It is a bit hard for new project to make their way and become successful. They must introduce good new features. Those projects that are actually able to make through tough times of downfall can actually be trusted with money and time.

You should also remember that the number of bounty campaigns have undergone a significant reduction. Earlier we used to have up to 100 ICOs listing every week, and now this number has gone to an average of 4-5 per week. And there have been a corresponding decrease in the number of bounty campaigns as well. However there have been no such decline in the number of bounty hunters. This means more bounty hunters per campaign, and therefore lower payments for each bounty hunter.
5675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 13, 2019, 06:05:43 PM
If they are having 300 cricket clubs is it hard to find some good batsman among these players, they lack a good batsman in the team to perform consistently and i think all these clubs prefer T20 and hence they are good at the shorter format.

Nowadays cricket clubs mostly prefer the shorter version of the game, due to lack of time. However, Afghanistan do have a 4-day domestic tournament in which all the five regions take part. The domestic cricket is rapidly expanding there, thanks to the increased funding from the ICC (as per the latest revenue model, ACB will receive $5 million per year during 2017-23).
5676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Abu Dhabi T10 League 2019 on: November 13, 2019, 05:56:57 PM
The Abu Dhabi T10 League is perhaps the only truly global league among all the franchise cricket tournaments. There is no restriction regarding the overseas players and the teams are free to select anyone regardless of their nationality. Among the players, I could find representation from a huge number of countries, including England, South Africa, Pakistan, New Zealand, Australia, Sri Lanka, UAE, West Indies, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, USA, Ireland, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Scotland.etc.

However it is sad that the BCCI is preventing Indian players from taking part. Only a few retired players are allowed to participate (Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Pravin Tambe.etc).

Past discrimination can't be used to justify current discrimination. BTW, what justification do they have for the discrimination against the San, Asians, Cape Malays and the mixed race people? All of them also suffered from discrimination by the apartheid government, and now they are facing same discrimination from the black government as well.
I hope they are doing it to uplift the backward and give them opportunities and by doing so they are indeed discriminating if they are not taking talent into consideration, i know the situation with Zimbabwe and why the ICC revoked their status and if there is too much political intervention in sport it is not good for the morality of the game.

What happened in Zimbabwe was different. The cricket board executives were appointed by the government and these guys stole most of the funds they got from the ICC. The global body tolerated it for sometime, but when the situation got out of hand, they had to act and suspend the membership of Zimbabwe Cricket. So far, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has stayed clear of corruption allegations.
5678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 13, 2019, 04:52:15 PM
There is a lot of discrimination of black n white people in south Africa, and it is in their law to give certain percentage of seats for the native black people in all fields including cricket. This is different from India or Pakistan where mostly people are treated equally regardless of race/religion.

Past discrimination can't be used to justify current discrimination. BTW, what justification do they have for the discrimination against the San, Asians, Cape Malays and the mixed race people? All of them also suffered from discrimination by the apartheid government, and now they are facing same discrimination from the black government as well.

One domain where Libra could be useful is with remittance payments. Right now, Western Union and Moneygram are charging up to 10% of the total amount. I am not knowledgeable about the fee structure of Libra, but I guess it will be much lower than what WU has. That said, government taxes on remittance may be applicable on Libra as well.
5680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 13, 2019, 04:18:59 PM
So whats wrong is they want to include minimum of 2 black players in each team. In IPL, only 4 foreign players are allowed and rest of the team should be from the Indian nationality. So hows that not being political ?

Because that is equivalent to saying that the other South Africans (Whites, Asians, Coloreds and the original inhabitants - the San) are not equal to the black payers. In IPL, 7 out of the 11 players should be Indians. But there is no requirement that these 7 players should be from a particular religion or a particular racial group. You can have a quota based on nationality. But it is wrong to have one based on race or religion.
