We all must listen to LambTroll.
We must sell all our coins and buy dollars.
We must entrust our hopes to the Banks.
Because it's SAFE!

To be fair macsga, Greece wasn't screwed over by the banks. You were screwed over by the lying politicians you kept electing. If the greeks would care a bit more about clean governance and fighting corruption then the euro wouldn't be pounding you from behind as much.
5682  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, 1155GH, Jan 8th shipping [Sales Open] on: December 27, 2014, 07:14:52 PM

Just over a year ago, Bitmain released its ground-breaking Antminer S1 to the market. Miners no longer had to sacrifice space, noise levels and hashing power in order to mine. The S1 became the staple of the home miner, before being upgraded to the Antminer S3 7 months later.

Today, Bitmain is proud to announce its 3rd generation chip in conjunction with its 9th product: the Antminer S5. It is 450 USD 418 USD per unit (excluding shipping) and will ship starting on December 27th.

Coupons for S4's can they be converted to S5's?

Sorry if this was asked and answered already.

not yet, but who knows, maybe they will allow at least S3/C1 coupons in the last minute.

Yes maybe donate all your coupons and get a few S5 coupons? Or some such trade up?

Actually want to upgrade the S2s we got to S5s keep the same or a little more hash at half the power sorta plan.

The coupons are a way to get rid of stock. With the S5 they have probably scaled production to the current climate. So it is unlikely that they will issue S5 coupons (no point in allowing s3/s4/c1 coupons. It's just numbers in a machine so it will be easier to create dedicated ones) anytime soon, if ever (the S5 looks like a short pit stop on the way to 14/16nm).
5683  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: December 27, 2014, 05:46:22 PM
It's when it happens every time I get annoyed. Ghash.io should have roughly 1/6 of the network, ie. like a dice. Right now the network is as stable as it has been in a very long time. On average there should be 144 solved blocks every day. That's 4464 rolls of the dice in a month and this pool has missed by ≈20% since I started using it, and back then it was over 1/4 of the network. That is on the very edge of what is a possible deviation. And two months in a row?? It looks engineered. If anyone can properly throw some numbers at me I am all ears.

@hurricandave: If you can explain this then please do. But if you just chimed in to be a condescending twat, then....
5684  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: December 27, 2014, 04:14:41 PM
What about:
1) They don't have the hash rate they advertise.
2) They don't sign all the blocks they solve.
In both cases this would be a fraud or a hack.
High level techs and managers are on holidays.

This is what I worry about
5685  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: December 27, 2014, 03:37:42 PM
Come on GHash.IO please explain:
How can you have one of the fastest car around and loose every race?

That's what I want to know. Do I have to mine at a chinese pool to get a proper result?
5686  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warren Buffet advise not to buy bitcoin. Expect bitcoin price to collapse. on: December 27, 2014, 03:34:16 PM
Here is another reason why Buffett might not have any interest in Bitcoin succeeding: He has an interest in it not succeeding.

Please keep in mind people, this is Bitmain's product discussion thread. While excessive harassing of members isn't acceptable under any circumstance, it is especially not acceptable in someone else's thread. I'm sure Dogie doesn't mind talking to reasonable people about whatever issues people are having with him, but please do not do it here. Don't clutter the thread making information harder to access for those that want it.

SaltySpitoon,

Firstly, thank you for your input.

However, if I am to be accused of something I have not done on a Bitmain thread, by someone who is paid by Bitmain - I believe I am, at the very least, entitled to an apology. Is that so unreasonable? I think not. I'm sure that you have read the circumstances of my request in this thread - if it were to happen to yourself, would you not want an apology? As genuine & appreciated as BitmainWarranty's & Yoshi's apology was, it's not the same, and until dogie realises the errors of his ways, the situation will continue & indeed probably get worse - weather it is with me or any of the other forum members he's seen fit to abuse or insult on Bitmain threads. It has gone too far already - & needs to be nipped at the bud.

Sorry, but my request still stands.

Exactly!

When the defenders of the dastardly run their mouths, they are indeed condoning his abhorrent behaviour.

Notice how they are happy to change & avoid the subject when its proven beyond a doubt that he/they are in the wrong.

Shilling at its finest - and lamest.

You are using a broad net with your accusation. Perhaps you should focus your energy towards getting your grievances remedied.
5688  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, 1155GH, Jan 8th shipping [Sales Open] on: December 26, 2014, 09:01:15 PM
@ Fatman3001    I crunched sales numbers a little more from 12-22 to 12-26 and I believe at least 400 to 600 s-5's have sold and paid to that addy I posted above.

Thanks, it will be interesting to see what it looks like when these machines hit the network. Do you know if they use other addresses?

TBH, I kind of have a hard time believing the s5 should be a big seller. It is slightly more efficient at a time people are still licking their wounds from both the doubling of network hash rate and halving of XBT price at the same time. And it isn't really any revolution in value $/GH either. Not to mention that the S3s are still making money so one can't recycle the PSUs. If they had released specs earlier I probably would have gone for some S4s over a month ago.
5689  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, 1155GH, Jan 8th shipping [Sales Open] on: December 26, 2014, 07:32:57 PM
-snip-

I'm not going to discuss this any longer in this thread as its off topic. If you want to have a conversation about it, find a more appropriate venue for it and let me please.

I had a lot of respect for you given all you have done but you compromised your impartiality as soon as you accepted payment from Bitmain. Now you are now embarrassing yourself, and Bitmain given how you are conducting yourself.

personally i feel that bitmain & dogie are very well suited partners in grime/ignorance

WTH are you guys bi**in about? Why are you attacking Dogie here where he can't defend himself? Man Up and settle this somewhere where isn't reduced to a punching bag!

if you have failed to read the ongoing slurs from dogie himself, please refrain from comment. lest you make yourself appear ignorant.

im owed money, dogie has taken it upon himself to post more garbage - to which i have retorted.

WTH is your purpose here?

I can't read every bit of dribble that drips into this forum. I did read your warning about the dangerous hardware they sell that is vaporware, and I had to stop. Dogie is a resource here and you are destroying him. So my purpose is to get you to back off a bit so that I and others can get future tech running when some new FinFet doohickey that refuses to do its biz is turning our heads bald.

BTW: He has clearly stated that he is paid by Bitmain so stop calling him names. If you can't keep two thoughts in your head at the same time then turn down the heat a bit and take it slow.

This thread is remarkable, not only because of the amount of trolls but also for the inability of the rest to ignore those trolls. Come to think of it, that is probably why there are so many of them.

Right you just proven yourself to be part of one of those two groups, at least you failed to ignore.

Well, I was right then.

Clearly LambTroll has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what a damped oscillation is or how it may be implemented into a chaotic system. Also, he's using straw man paradigms -all the time- presenting false evidence, that conform his straw man theories, according to his will with only one goal: To occupy space in this thread and to add noise. Please don't fall into his trap. Just press ignore and let him live in oblivion.

AND PLEASE DON'T QUOTE THE TROLLZ!

Then perhaps you should stop quoting him.

Seems luck has stiken again Ghash

Ant pool with 15phs less has the same blocks
Discus fish pool with 15phs more has 40 block plus+++

I dont know am not that keen in pool hoping but latelly I am fed up

The "luck" always seems to strike down and never up. That's what puzzles me.

Giving me 1000+ S3/C1/S4 coupons is a great marketing move; but doesn't really reward me for being a loyal customer.

Please stop spamming low value coupons.  Reward your loyal customers with actual discounts.

You could probably send them a proposal and see what they will accept. They obviously want to get rid of some stock.

Warren Buffett is a God among Men

No, no he's not.

I know millionaires more savvy than him.

You know the difference between millionaire and billionaire businessmen? One of the two was luckier than the other...not much else.

No, and no. He is not particularly lucky. He is very good at what he does. You might know more flamboyant millionaires but you don't know anyone who can beat him at his own game. How do I know? Investors have a scoreboard, and according to this scoreboard billionaires win over millionaires every time. I don't want to invoke the Rumsfeld speech about known knowns and known unknowns, but to skillfully and consistently combine a total control of what you know you understand and know you don't understand, with a clever investment strategy; has nothing to do with luck.
5699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warren Buffet advise not to buy bitcoin. Expect bitcoin price to collapse. on: December 26, 2014, 11:19:38 AM
This is a quote from an old article. It shouldn't affect price now. He hasn't been too kind about companies like Google in the past, and they are doing ok. Warren Buffett is a God among Men, but he isn't very tech-savvy, so maybe we can ignore his tech related advices. The one american who is nearly as rich as him and quite a bit more tech-savvy seems to have given the go-ahead for Microsoft to start accepting bitcoins. THAT matters!!!
5700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 26, 2014, 01:18:22 AM
Buffett is a dinosaur, he's too old to appreciate a new way of money.

Buffett is extremely wealthy because he is extremely good at what he does. And one of the main reasons is because he knows what he understands and stays away from what he doesn't understand. Just look at how he has spoken about Google. He sees that they have shot up over the last decade and a bit but he still won't invest in it because he doesn't see how they will make money in five years time. That kind of thinking will make you a lot of money. But he is an investor. And those who make money in Bitcoin are speculators. Bitcoin is a gamble. Some of us might think we have figured it out, but in the end it's a gamble.

I accept that BTC is a gamble

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insinuate that you didn't understand this. I am just saying Buffett knows what he's doing. He is just playing a different game. I can agree with him being too conservative. But that is what has made him rich.
