Cool stuff slaman29! Thanks for keeping track, and nice to know we all hit our targets of 30 left in this comp. Careful with the final week Wink

Also, nice bets shared above and yeah, hard to see United not win this one with everyone full of energy and ready to do Rangnick's pressing demands. I got a sweet win on the 4-3free so have 50 USDT to play around with. New one is up (Liverpool-Chelsea) and don't forget, net Bet-free-6 is also up now on MatchDay 20 games!
5682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 27, 2021, 11:06:46 AM
As for Gerrard, nobody can expect him to magically make Aston Villa the new super football team. The team will need patience and for sure some transfers to achieve greater things and be established among the top ones. EPL isn't SPFL and Gerrard knows that first hand.

No, no one can. They already did themselves proud to take the lead, and have only a bad run of starts under Gerrard to take on the top 3 in his first string of games. Losing to City, Liverpool and Chelsea is really no shame. The good news I guess is that half the season is gone and he now has at least a chance to prove himself against each of the teams in the league, and get the best out of his youth. I know Grealish won't mind winning a trophy with City but he might look back with the regret of Sterling later on...
5683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump Says Crypto Is 'Very Dangerous' ... but ... on: December 27, 2021, 10:00:08 AM
To be completely honest, I do not think that Trump actually knows anything- like he reads and talks with his mouth rather than his mind. This lead to a series of contradicting claims in which his previous messages do not reflect his current actions. That is also the reason on why most Americans despise him as a President and as an individual also.

Again like you mentioned, I would not trust any of his statements given all the previous records he held. Even with his statement where he considered cryptocurrency as "dangerous", again, I doubt that he has an idea of what he is talking about.

He's not less knowledgeable than most politicians mouthing off though. I'd at least say with him, you know what you get (what you hear is what you get). Well, not precisely, but his heart is on his lips, so to speak.

But why anyone would think what he or any American says is really going to affect the way we use Bitcoin, I never really get.

P.S. I do think using crypto is dangerous for most people, though probably not in the way this thread discusses.

^ Was a last min corner too that won it, was watching the game live on text update as had some bets riding on it but damn, I actually missed this Blackjack, and it's rare for me to even miss a game when I'm available but forgot to check after the City game (which was a high, high bust way before the final whistle haha). Nice one, hope all those who missed the Barca one made up for it with this.

Wasn't in time to claim freebets, or didn't get it. Tried a shoutout on Twitter but seems like my Tweet never went out, blame my bad necromancy skills at trying to revive my badly inactive social media heh.

Good luck to everyone, nevertheless. I missed out on MajSev Chelsea scorers, went for Ollie instead of... Penginho dang =D
5686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 26, 2021, 07:00:54 PM
Boxing Day has been going on great! We have started with many high-scoring games to the day. Manchester City v Leicester was a really superb one. It ended by a 6-3 victory for Manchester City and I definitely wasn't expecting this many goals. Arsenal demolished Norwich away also by 5-0. These were the most attention getting games for me. And now, Chelsea are 2-1 ahead thanks to Lukaku's entering the game in the second half and scoring right away.

Yeah and also 3 goals in the current one, wasn't expecting Chelski to get so "many" goals but one's a penalty and one's Lukaku (also someone else I wasn't expecting to come on).

Happy night for anyone who took over 2.5s, I was considering an entire acca of 2.5 overs tonight, don't know why I second-guessed myself.

Kane, Lukaku, Sterling, all on scoresheet. Feels weird huh Wink
5687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Merry Christmas! on: December 26, 2021, 05:06:32 PM
Looks like a clear trend to me Cheesy better not to sell anything at these levels, the trend is going to continue hopefully in 2022.

Though actually, if this is a trend that's clear, then it's pretty clear that after a 4-year streak of gains, it took a nosedive and was less than 50% of the Christmas price 2 years later. You'd have needed to wait for 2020 Christmas to see gains on 2017.

Now if we presume this is a trend, then this is already the 4th consecutive annual streak of gains since 2018. Another 2 Christmases below 50k? Works for me to wait for 2024 to see 75k. Stack those sats!
5688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 26, 2021, 03:58:27 PM
they've been in very poor form lately with only 1W in the last 5 games (1 win in 7 games, including all competitions). But The Saints are going through a rough patch as well, last time they won a game was in early November. This smells like a draw, but, I went with a West Ham win in the pool, i don't trust teams near the relegation zone  Roll Eyes

Yeah, costing me points and bets. They beat us, and then sputtered (LLD), then beat Chelsea and then sputtered (DLL), so they better buck up and get us back some of that Moyes magic... though of course it will be bittersweet as I still have my soft spot for Saints who're already leading this one 1-0.

@swogerino Eh yeah, meanwhile, my City bet is so dead haha. And Palace killed themselves with Zaha sent off. Sigh.
5689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need a bull market blow off top ? on: December 26, 2021, 02:54:06 PM
people that bought at say $50k-$65k want 2 things.

1. to get the price up (more bull) to $100k-$130k so they can profit and exit
2. to get the price down (a bear) to $25k-$32k so they can buy more at 50% discount than initial purchase

I usually think those looking to exit either bought at the floor or close to it (having intended to do so) so those exiting would have been those buying March 2020. OR those who've been through a second cycle, meaning those who bought close to 2017 top.

I have to say though, haven't personally come into contact with anyone who exited this year, unlike in 2017 when I counted a handful. Any exit now or running up to $100k (if it happens) would probably be out of reluctance.
5690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 26, 2021, 02:08:41 PM
Just missed some bullets with Championship games postponed, was going for Blackburn Rovers but they're the latest victims... 2 hours before kickoff goddamn man I think we really need to avoid English games after today.

My bet builder is on Villa to win 1:0 with goal from Watkins Smiley It is Christmas time so I hope for nice present from free bet

On my high stake more realistic ticket I have Arsenal to win despite them being away for home and Aston Villa 1x. Just hope there is not any last minutes postponements.

That's fancy not bad, I've got Ollie to score also on some other game I'm sure you're also playing Wink

I'm leaving still 2 more freebets for specials later today/tomorrow, so I don't waste everything on accas I'm sure to miss heh.

Arsenal, are on song and on the up. Arteta will be glad the focus is not on him for once. Saka's looking closer and closer to getting his confidence back, I've got HIM to score too. Pity about the Auba situation? Or is it best Gunners move on?

But agree. Villa's our best bet I think Gerrard and his boys are ready to punish!
5691  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Finally Climbs Back Above $50k, but can it Remain there? on: December 26, 2021, 01:46:50 PM
When we gonna be chomping at the bit?
The new year hasnt arrived yet tho , so i would expect another hard drop inconmmmming

at least till next month we might suffering multiple times, the support lines seems so weak while the sell waves keep hitting hard.
stiĺl there is a lot of reasons to keep buying or simply scalping it.

Yeah, we've lost the 50k support I was hoping to hold on for a week but another hard drop incoming? Volume still isn't convincing enough for me either way, so scalping isn't attractive either I'd say. But oh well, happy to sit and see.

I keep saying that people end up spending money for the holidays and then they get the bonus at the end of the year or during Christmas and that's when the price starts to go back up. We literally had that, we had people who spent money beforehand, probably most around second week of December, and then on the third week we end up going up because they started to get their bonus, which will continue all throughout the world until first of new year, then we will stabilize again.

I am guessing whatever increase we have in the upcoming week will be the biggest one for a while and then for another week or two we may end up with a bit more calm  markets that doesn't move too much.

Right after the liquidated to get gifts and pay those annual taxes? Possibly, but again I talk about volumes and retail numbers aren't coming in thick and heavy enough to suggest there's any real impact from there. And to hark back on analysts all saying the age of retail is over and institutional money's at the reins. Not exactly true either huh.
5692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🎰 Sportsbet.io 🎰 "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: December 26, 2021, 01:13:07 PM
^ Yeah I don't think there were any games on Christmas, and Sportsbet took a holiday too I think, as there weren't even any specials on my page, and then a whole lot of them today. So max bet on City-Leicester seems a natural way for me to break out of hibernation. I've "hedged" it with an outright win for the Foxes, so game on, enjoy your Boxing Day football everyone!
5693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 26, 2021, 11:57:23 AM
Ready for game guys?

Also, Everton actually got a successful request for postponement due to injury rather than Covid, or at least, it was a case of both (as even with Covid they were okay to play until training injury left them with only 9 players).
In addition to seeing the affirmative statement from UEFA, I also looked through the list of involved players in the FPL transfers section (I'm not sure where the information comes from, but before it was always up to date). So literally two days ago, almost the entire Everton squad was healthy and without injuries ...  Undecided

I'm not so familiar with the official Premier League FPL but I was active in the first couple of match games, and then intermittently but right now just completely inactive, but I have to say their injury rating is a bit off. You could have 80% chance of not playing (can't remember the exact number but someone in FPL can confirm) and the guy would come off and score. I remember this happening to me with Richarlison once and I actually swapped him out and lost on big points.

So I wouldn't count on their info being 100% accurate Wink
5694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +76028 units on: December 26, 2021, 10:52:52 AM
Boxing Day! And I've got 3 great picks all bursting with value, so if I just hit one I'll be a happy gambler.

First off, Leicester to beat City as my traditional "bet against City game" and at almost 17/1, I think this is hands-on my Christmas special
Then, Villa is 5/1 against Chelsea, I'll put them on a small acca with SIPG in China to take a home win.
Finally, Conte is whining too much, so I'm going to give Vieira a win against them, parlayed with what should be a strong Hammers showing at home.
All at Sportsber:

100 units on Leicester City to WIN vs Man City @16.95. Other odds: 16.00. Bet ID: 61c34907d1d9a74bc1bedcab
100 units on Villa and SIPG to WIN @7.75. Other odds: 7.60. Bet ID: 61c84378184fc493fbe5e2c0
100 units on Palace and West Ham to WIN @9.54. Other odds: 9.40. Bet ID: 61c84390184fc48523e5e2d9

Total units advantage: 95+15+14 = 124

Running advantage after 92 bets: +10672 (+124)
All-time cumulative: +78,020
Running units after 89 bets (11W|78L): +2521 (-100)

Understand you, I also use several devices, but prefer to write from one. And i want to start a similar experiment, but I am experiencing same problems with free time and partly with discipline  Grin
I am still pondering the predictive accuracy of the closing line and is it possible to make money on it Roll Eyes
By the way, I think if at the end of the season you, in addition to public statistics, announce the total statistics of your bets (without numbers, just percentages), I think it will delight all readers of this thread.

Just go ahead and do it! No pressure, open a thread, just try and post as often as you can, the discipline will come later with routine (and you can see this last few weeks I've been inactive but it's okay!)

At the end of every season, I do make a final count and add it to the first post (on page 1), linking to the post for reference. I'm quite happy to be in positive for the first 3 seasons but I have a feeling I might end up negative this one partially due to my inactiveness but also missing a lot of upsets.
5695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 26, 2021, 10:25:41 AM
^ Thanks to the nod of approval from you guys and especially from Trofo, I not only put up Betbuilder on Villa, but also will now add them on an additional acca for good measure.

@igehhh lol yeah I've been calling them Chelski for 15 years now maybe or something like that, and no not a hater, I think it's great fun. I know some people say LiVARpool and I just say Penaldo or Penchester United, but you know, rivalry is fun like that in a way haha. I generally like making fun of rich clubs is all!

@icopress @arallmuus I was surprisingly sober but I think only because there was too much food in my gut to soak the alcohol up. I actually stayed up til about 2/3am and was still up by 7am... I still feel a bit bummed about Liverpool game off but 7 games is still not so bad =)
5696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fall of fiat|Rise of Bitcoin on: December 26, 2021, 09:11:05 AM
Real fiat has got slowdown due to more financial destruction happening around the globe. In recent days covid-19 had made a big blow in the economic progress. By the time bitcoin showed its highest growth through its unique technology that is against the traditional fiat inflation. For the same we can't term bitcoin to take over the place of fiat. One country have made it a legal tender whereas majority have made it an investment asset. So, bitcoin to be a legal tender around the world won't happen in the short.

It's not really just fiat, it's been the entire global financial and economic system(s). And yes, Covid's just brought it all out into the ugly open but these problems have been festering for decades, with each major financial crisis only serving to remind us all of what's rotting underneath all the mountains of band aids.

I mean, I remember the pandemic-induced lockdown. One month, 2 months after that, giant multinats closing down and going bankrupt? Or laying off thousands at a time? What kind of system are we running in where you must constantly feed the machine of consumerism just to stay afloat?

Fiat's problems have been long in the making. But it'll be long before states kick the habit. Meanwhile, my faith is in Bitcoin to be unwavering.
5697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 25, 2021, 05:29:04 PM
Who's still alive and sober tonight? Weird to be Saturday and nothing particularly interesting to bet on.

I've put my freebet (last one of the month or do we still get one for NY's eve I wonder? heh heh) in on a Villa upset against Chelsea. 5/1 and yes I know Gerrard's team still a few notches below Chelski but Ollie's good for a goal, and Lukaku has been warming up the bench, so who knows, yeah?

I took an early bet on Leicester at 14/1 too, since they happily almost beat Liverpool B I bet you they want to bounce back, but should have waited as it's 15/1 now on Sportsbet and with boost an easy almost 17/1!

5698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Crypto Christmas; Using Bitcoin to help feed the homeless on: December 25, 2021, 04:46:03 PM
Greetings to Nigeria from Borneo.
Thank you for your support. Life after covid is very expensive in Nigeria. Buying a pack of indomie noodles and protein is not what everybody can afford. I can tell you families have nothing to eat this Christmas. Just yesterday, a man committed suicide yesterday leaving his two kids and wife. According to the story, he had lost his job in 2019 and has been struggling since. Cases like this are common and we can help spread hope through this campaign. I have volunteers cooking nourishing meals to give out. Part of the items we bought are yam, indomie noodles, spaghetti noodles, bread, drinks, soap, milk, chocolate, pack of rice.

It is similar everywhere in the global South, I would say, though perhaps the disparity has always been greater where you are. I'm fortunate enough to have found better economic circumstance but yeah, indomie and almost any sort of fortified wheat/rice is almost a luxury for many of my compatriots. Inflation is always officially manageable, but the people on the ground suffer the most, especially in urban areas. I know more and more in the past 2 years thanks to Covid-exacerbated effects all moving back to the village to farm, where at least you can live off the land.

I know it's nothing to fix long-term problems but if it can bring some festive cheer with good hot meals... it's Bitcoin put to good use.

Be good and with family, LFC_Bitcoin, your extended bitcointalk family's going nowhere.

And thanks Steve, Martin, Joe. Your generosity is matched only by your peculiarly good sense of timing.

Having a really huge eat-fest where I am. Put some minor bets down, if Santa loves me and I've been a good boy, Rodgers and Gerrard will do Liverpool a favour tomorrow.🎊🎉🤶🏿🎄

Nice going, guys! I probably say this too much but you could also spend time selecting short videos from Antonopoulos' vast resource videos on YouTube answering some really common questions people ask. They're surprisingly relevant even today when considering those 3-5 years old.

Should get together and vote about what you'd all like to do together on mainnet to pop your collective cherries Wink
