5681  Other / Archival / Re: McAfee Dex on: October 09, 2019, 04:04:17 AM
There is Switchdex and I do think sincerely that is the decentralized exchange McAfee is trying very hard to copy. Nonetheless, I think people should very care patronizing his exchange. I find it difficult trusting a man who always has a smile plastered on his face. In the case with McAfee, a failed past is a cause to worry about.

Well it looks like McAfeeDex is just a clone exchange from Switchdex.
Even support button on McAfee is directing to Switchdex telegram  Grin
It is very laggy and very white

Oh yeah, it's now clearer to me. I did more checks and discovered that the McAfeedex is using the Switchdex contract. Switchdex owns the Switch token (ESH) which is a swap of Ethershift. It's already listed on the CMC. The developer is Josh and this link http://t.me/ethershiftco takes one to the telegram group.

Again, the Switchdex only lists and trades ETH tokens. Any other tokens there are basically the handiwork of fraudsters trying to scam users. So, be careful. I guess same goes for the McAfeedex.
5682  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coinexchange.io is Closing Down. Official announcement. on: October 08, 2019, 08:14:18 PM
It's a pity that had to happen. Before the official winding up it was really evident to curious close watching eyes that all wasn't right with Coinexchange if anyone actually took time to study the trading volume there. Well, it's all good that the exchange acted honourably by winding down rather than play out a "hack" and causing traders to lose their funds. I have carefully withdrawn my coins and transferred to other exchanges. I will surely miss this exchange because the security feature is top notch.
5683  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Increase your Bitcoin Holdings in a Bear Market on: October 08, 2019, 07:03:16 PM
To do well in a bear market, a very good research is needed. Yes, bear market is time to buy more coins and hodl but not for all the falling coins. Some coins are being dumped at that time and won't recover from that. So if you buy a wrong coin then, you might wait forever to profit which likely won't happen.
I quite agree with you that some price fall signify dump but unsuspecting buyers may not know and they will dive on and waste their hard earned money. This isn't even about doing one's diligent research before buying in because most times one won't even know where to start with. Back to the OP, I think the best way to increase BTC holdings in a bear market is to tether. Then sell off tether and buy into Bitcoin once the signal for a bull run comes up. Buy BTC/USDT & Sell BTC/USDT should be it at every correction.
5684  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are mixers illegal? on: October 08, 2019, 06:34:11 PM
I want to believe that what Tumbler services/Mixers tend to do is bring back the days of anonymity that was the hallmark of cryptocurrency but now missed because of the almost mandatory KYC. Transactions are done and the receiver is hidden from any trace. That way, cases of armed robbers and bandits breaking into homes to harass hodlers are put at bay. Those who insinuate something insidious like money laundering and terrorism as things mixers indulge do not have strong points. Reason being that these vices are everywhere, not just with cryptocurrency.
5685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB good to invest at price of 0.0019 BTC ? on: October 07, 2019, 08:20:05 PM
Whatever price you buy BNB now is cheap considering the fact that it got to $40+ ATH this year. The problem I think people have is that they don't want any coin/token they buy to ever depreciate in price. They want instant mooning all the time. But this shouldn't be the ideal thought with any serious investor. Business is ups and downs. It's normal to expect a price crash from time to time and that is what BNB is passing through. So, it's a great buy now for anyone. Don't wait till price begins to moon and they you start chasing the price.
5686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think majority of the people heard or read Bitcoin one time or another on: October 07, 2019, 07:51:23 PM
Bitcoin has come along way we have seen massive adoption and so many videos, news, and articles about websites and many people have invested and are now using Bitcoin do you think after ten years majority of people around the world have heard or read Bitcoin one time or another?
I think it will be safer to say "heard about Bitcoin" than "read about Bitcoin" The truth is that people hardly read. Even now, not many will read the OP before responding. Sometimes, I don't even blame those who say they don't understand jack about Bitcoin. It's really technical stuff. The technicalities of Bitcoin perplexes me too.

@o_e_l_e_o
Answer to all your questions is: Yes I remember it all Smiley

Anyway, it is still amusing to watch him in his new endeavors.

I do like Bisq, and I also think we need more and better dex exchanges, not necessarily from McAfee

5688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: October 06, 2019, 11:22:50 PM

Sometime before ETH turned $3, I happen to buy some about 7k of it, if I just wait for the breakout at $7, I could have more money to spend on every ICO in 2017. I'd be waiting for more years from now on before selling the tokens I own. I'm pretty sure I can wait this time, I shall feel the frustration today but will later not.
And to even say it later got to $1,432.88 USD
(Jan 13, 2018)
makes one want to cry. The truth is that the OP is right in a way about most of the altcoins being shitcoins. But there are still coins/tokens with potential. You never can tell when the potential will be unleashed and you miss the bus. I have some altcoins that have grown cold on me but I am still hopeful of a rise some day. Only time can prove me wrong.
5689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not advance as a bounty hunter? on: October 06, 2019, 10:45:41 PM
why not through some of the experience you have got, since your sojourn in the crypto space, explore other means through which you can earn more and fill your portfolio.
If you don't mind, could you list the "other means". You see, these things are easier said than done. No one will intentionally want to be called a fool (this is what most projects do now to bounty hunters). I wouldn't want to be cheated but sometimes you fall prey to scammy developers. That's the price most of bounty hunters face, no matter how careful you want to be.
5690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I just SOLD my girlfriends car to buy more ETH at sale price :) on: October 06, 2019, 01:32:56 AM
Good of you,
After all she is your girl friend not mine, probably you even bought it for her and she will gladly hand it over to you if she knows you bought it from cypto trade . With time you will thank God you did. Ethereum is coming higher.
Funny dude @ my bolded in your sentence as quoted. Anyway, he made a very dicey choice with ETH. I don't trust that coin that much to put my money on it. It's just like ripple. But with Bitcoin, I can buy and hodl even when the price goes momentarily crashing I don't panic because I know it will certainly rise again. Bitcoin is a sure bet.
5691  Other / Meta / Re: Please don't use bold text in your posts. on: October 05, 2019, 05:33:09 AM
I find it slows down my reading quite considerably. Presumably you want people to read your post - well bold and coloured text is non-standard, and it slows down reading for those of us who are busy, and have other interests. If you want your message to get maximum exposure, then please treat the forum as a collection of message boards, and not as a place to practice design exercises.

I skip over such posts, and very rarely do I read the content. Am I alone in this?
I think you're in the minority here. If you talk about colour text, fine. But you can't really say for sure that.bold prints are disgusting (you may personally find them so but it shouldn't be a generalization). I use bold texts from time to time and it's for stylistics and desired effect. And like other posters opined, this should be used with discretion.
5692  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: I GOT HACKED AND LOST 25.000€ ( 1,9 btc) on: October 02, 2019, 07:30:53 PM
This is stale development and it sure happened over a year ago and at the time Bitcoin didn't have much gain to it. I bet, you always remember this whenever there is a surge in the price of Bitcoin. You better let that incident rest for honestly I don't think you can ever get back your money,, no matter what investigation is set up.
5693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The World’s Most-Preferred Cryptocurrency Isn’t Bitcoin on: October 02, 2019, 05:17:09 PM
OP, there's a reason Bitcoin dominates the market with a whooping percentage. 70% is no mean feat. I know a lot of people will wish this data is anything to go by just so they see Bitcoin relegated. Well, from the look of things this isn't going yo be any time soon.
5694  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it worth for me in my situation to start btc trading? on: October 02, 2019, 01:07:45 PM
Can I learn and do trading for month to make at least some money(around $100-$250), while doing freelance programming? I can arrange 3-5 hours for each activity per day.
It seems you've your eyes already set on the expected profit. This thing doesn't really work out like that, at least most times it doesn't. Set your mind on learning the techniques involved in trading before counting chicks that haven't been hatched. Trading is very lucrative once you acquire the set skills and this I encourage you to do. Besides, there is always that caveat at the bottom of trading sites and exchanges alerting you of the risky nature of trading. You can easily lose your capital too just the same way you can double it.
5695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump’s Plan to Ban the Petro Could affect all Cryptocurrencies on: October 01, 2019, 06:51:19 PM
According to this article, the Senate Bill 1025 will provide the blueprint on how to ban a cryptocurrency, and some think the ban will come all the way to bitcoin!
It is a scary thought and even though nobody can completely ban bitcoin, they may just cripple the ramps to it. You know, make it illegal and close down all the exchanges and such.

Don't get me wrong, I think Maduro can go to Dante's Hell.

But banning Petro may open the way for banning other cryptocurrencies, eventually, or maybe even first, making its way to bitcoin.
You're absolutely right - Banning the Petro will definitely open the floodgates to banning the entire crypto industry in Venezuela. Besides, I think Donald Trump is even overstepping his bounds. The best he can do is place sanctions on Venezuela by withdrawing aids to the country, and not ban any country's "legal tender". Who the heck does Trump think he is?
5696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NASA to Launch Bitcoin to the Moon? on: October 01, 2019, 06:24:46 PM
Despite how I earnestly want to always read positive news and reviews about Bitcoin, l honestly don't know how launching Bitcoin in the moon will change anything. Let more awareness around Bitcoin be created here on planet earth first before we start going to space. We need more countries to adopt Bitcoin and not inanimate moon.

i remember jack ma talked about revolutionizing supply chains with blockchains. and blockchains were supposed to disrupt the financial and healthcare industries among several others. it's been years since then. has anything ever come of it? i'm surprised it's still making the list at this point.
It's a gradual process. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day. I remember how we nearly attained mass adoption in 2017 and how the rapidity of the Bitcoin awareness which spread like wildfire stunned even veteran members and sone community members here. Many started screaming  Bitcoin was a bubble. The movement was such a speed then. For me, I believe life is a gradual process and with time the blockchain tech will take its right place.
5698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Adopt New coins ? on: September 30, 2019, 12:51:25 PM
Hi,

So Bitcoin has issues like speed of transactions and energy consumption.

As there is no 'team' behind bitcoin, how is it going to develop and make sure it is always competing with newer coins?

There are alot of coins resolving these issues and people are buying into them, but why if bitcoin is considered No. 1 ? Is there a possiblity the  new coins could be linked with bitcoin or that  future bitcoin 'integrates with them and  their technology which therfore increases their prices?

Trying to understand this universe!

Thanks in advance

L
At a point some of us felt Bytebal was the replacement for Bitcoin as it gave Bytebal a grievous chase in price. But that expectation soon died. Then cane the first fork and BCH was born out of Bitcoin. Nothing changed. It conveniently played second fiddle to Bitcoin. What about ETH? They've all failed in that regard. However, I do not still think that Bitcoin will want to adopt anything for anything.
5699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we ready for another price bump? Reminder for the shortsighted people. :-> on: September 30, 2019, 09:35:11 AM
I believe in market corrections from time to time and am scared stiff when I don't find it. Bitcoin is at correction phase now for technically it has crossed MA downward on weekly time frame. So, I expect more bears in days to come. However, I am not scared zooming out on panic for I know the price will go up later. It's a sure bet that Bitcoin is the most secured crypto with the guarantee of rising whenever it falls. The best thing to do at a time of a fall is to tether and not panic sell off.
5700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Sold 2BTC at $3,000 and BTC Bumped to $10,000 on: September 30, 2019, 03:26:18 AM
I got the 2BTC from a business deal around January this year. I knew that Bitcoin was going to bump anytime soon but still went ahead to sell at $3,000+ each. Why did I sell at such a ridiculously low rate when I could have gotten x3 of the value if I waited for few more months?

I was away in Dubai for work while my family were staying back home in my country. They were 100% dependent on me for food and sustenance. Allowing the BTC to sit in my wallet while my family suffers was not an option. So, I decided to sell and solve my immediate problems, to feed and cater for them. Did I make the wrong or right decision?

Well, no doubt I would have gotten $20,000+ if I retained the coin till now, but what if my family died of hunger?
I will say you did well by selling off for the sake of family need. However, let me quickly point out that except for illness I haven't seen anyone who is healthy die of hunger. People will always find a way to survive and get food (even not enough to eat). Anyway, no regrets for your action and like you rightly said - Money is as good as the problem it solves.
