Sen Mike Lee (from Utah) is also a liberty republican. 2% of the Senate doesn't sound great, but major changes/movements take time to get going.

There are a few Representatives, who can be classified as Libertarian Republican. In addition to Ron Paul (now ex-Rep), we have Rep.s such as Mark Sanford, Ted Yoho, Raul Labrador and Thomas Massie.
As well as Justin Amash, John Duncan, Walter Jones, Matt Salmon, Steve Stockman, Paul Broun and I'm sure quite a few others that have conservativish (fiscally) leaning voting records at least.

At the moment I'm very sad that I've sold my 28 return-shares last friday. But on the other hand. I sooooo don't trust CS. I hate it. Loved my dividends.
Even tho CS hosts your shares, our guys (RETURN) have all of our email addresses and share numbers in case the platform goes down. The dividends are too good to sell any of these shares. Check the order book and see where these puppies are going for. Very few are selling and only at solid free market prices reflecting the quality of this security. There's gonna be lots of coinage to be made here for years to come and could be a pension stake for those that stick around for when BTC does its thing again.
5703  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN national poll: Rand Paul 13%, Bush 13%, Ryan 12%, Huckabee 10%, Christie 9% on: June 10, 2014, 03:19:32 AM
I support the 'libertarian takeover' of the Republican party, since we are teaching them about limited Gov't.

There is no Libertarian take-over. There are a few Libertarians within the GOP, such as Rand Paul. But the vast majority of the supporters, as well as the politicians remains pro-establishment.
Politicians yes but I think the reelection rate is based upon tried and true methods of campaigning that flow into the low info voters when they decided to take an interest, about a few weeks prior to the election. Consultants poll what language works and this allows the incumbents to use their corporate bribery funds to string the idiots along. I'd wager that the average republican voter holds key conservative issues at heart but they aren't tuned in enough to see the one corporate party system in action. Take the pro-life issue only voters like many Catholics and Evangelicals. They've been strung along for the last ~30 years based upon that token issue being paid lip service while overlooking everything else these republicans have been doing including spending like democrats. Again, it's hard to overcome all the Corporate-Karl Rove-Chamber of Commerce insider money that is poured into mailers and tv/radio ads for these incumbents (on both sides) to keep challengers at bay. We had a good deal of conservative Senate challengers but only one has made it through a primary and even he's (McDaniel in MS) heading to a run-off.

I've said it before and I'll keep on saying it til it sinks in: Folks have to become party delegates and have influence in their state and local party's leadership. Then elect good folks to district and state cmte spots and they draft and pass resolutions affecting local and state party endorsements, donations and whether the state has a taxpayer funded primary (where the CoC folks can buy elections via low info voters) or state convention caucuses (where party delegates who are very tuned to the issues pick their nominees). Find out the info in your state and get involved. Heck do some BTC/crypto proselytizing while you're at it. We will be the new wealthier types come the next Prez election after all. Get out and swing your cock a little ya know what I mean.. Wink

Are you the one who invested 20btc?
If I were to invest that kinda coinage it would definitely have to be in an existing business that had a steady track record. I live by the old investor adage. We've all seen scammers that came and went, mostly they just took the money and ran. Personally, I'm willing to forgive if someone made a mistake and is willing to put in the time to make it right. In this case, just keep pounding broads on cam while making money back on it is a rather easy penance for Klye and his peeps to have to pay. Klye either makes a grown adult out of himself or he doesn't, his choice. I'd rather offer words of encouragement over demonization until it's clear which reconciliation route he takes, that's all.
I'm a little confused, it was a simple question that came from genuine curiosity.
Ok, the short answer is, "No, I'm not that guy."
5705  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Rand Paul plans heavy summer travel, foreign-policy speech on: June 09, 2014, 05:54:09 PM
I'm really interested to hear what he's going to put out to offer his realist foreign policy to the republican establishment voters and donors. Then, watch the reaction from some of his father's puritan supporters who are so doctrinaire in their adherence to the NAP code that if you fart wrong it could be labeled assault. Undecided Unlike any other candidate on either side, Rand really has to thread the needle in a bulletproof fashion cause there could be blowback from any angle. The worst being, giving the MainStream Media (aka the Lefty cheerleading team) anything that can be used for demagoguery purposes.
5706  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Government Defies Court Order & Destroys Evidence of NSA Spying on: June 09, 2014, 05:42:08 PM
It's a matter of national security.

Yeah... this is the excuse which is being made to spy on everyone's social media accounts. I don't understand what they are going to achieve by spying on normal citizens. A complete waste of taxpayer's money.
If the PR is wrong about them allegedly wanting to stop terrorism and in fact wanting to set up Orwell's 1984 then they're doing a fine job at it. But, the pendulum may very well swing back in the other direction and I know that Rand is going to make this whole ordeal a linchpin of his Prez run.

Where is Ben Carson?
Carson has shown no interest in running for President other than speaking at a few functions which is meaningless since everybody does it. There is, however, some campaign to raise funds to get him to run as some see him as the only person that can take on Hillary. Roll Eyes It annoys the hell out of me when some conservatives think they have to use race to push an agenda. Plus, this money that is being raised stays w/ the organizers. They know they have a gold mine when they can push some non-white, non-politician that no one is beating up on as the next savior of the GOP and make a killing off of it from well-meaning but gullible conservatives. Not saying he wouldn't make a good VP but I want someone I trust at the top of the ticket and that is Rand. Rand is too clever for Hillary or whomever.

so let me get this straight...
the money shot at this IPO with the purpose of starting a porno site, only the operator went and blew his wad over at just dice. Too bad he didn't tell any of you before you had a chance to pull out, because this cluster-fuck has quickly become a sticky mess...
klyemax indeed.

Yep, people can read w/o the enhancements. The point is to let Klye redeem himself w/o the BS. Agreed, that he dealt his hand but he seems to be trying to reclaim some semblance of decency so peeps should be forgiving and relax. You don't get $ for acting like an asshole. Help the man, don/t be a jerk.

Dividend received ($.09, woo!)

Hope you enjoyed the 5 beers my 20 bucks got you, as for the guy that lost 20 BTC, dont know if hes feeling the same way  Shocked

The 20 BTC investor pulled in about .017 so it's a step in the right direction. Despite Klye's mistakes (for lack of a better word), all he needs to do is keep the shows coming and have more of them. Then over time, things can fall back in place and he can resurrect his credit score on here.

Paul polls best against Shillary in this early time period.

The media has done their best keeping Shillary in the shadows for now, but her past is ripe for bombardment.

most politicians are lawyers. they're mostly men too.. i don't like the fact that our ruling class is so monolithic. would be nice if we could limit the amount of lawyers that hold office.. since they aren't experts in other areas of society that are important, like technology and energy.
In order to run for these kinds of seats you need to have friends w/ money or an outfit you serve that has money. It's tough for the likes of Justin Amash and Thomas Massie unless you have a national following via the Ron Paul days. Rand Paul is trying to build on that but even some of those that he endorses don't make it because they have heavy special interest money going against their guys at times.

we'll know more about rand paul and how much he wants to change things. if he accepts millions from unnamed sources, we'll know he will have sold out. basically, if he wins the primaries it means he will have sold himself.

We'll know a lot after is mandatory visit to Israel demonstrate the requisite servility to whatever likudnick he meets.  All dempublicans are required to do so these days.  If he gets the thumbs up from the media after putting a check-mark in that box it will be meaningful.  Just as was the case with Obama.

If, OTOH, he gets the Howard Dean treatment it will mean something else.  Among the things it will mean, unfortunately, is that he doesn't have a chance except in very unusual circumstances.

Rand Paul did the Israel trip back in January of 2013 and he did w/ private funding w/ an Evangelical delegation. During which, he called for an end to foreign aid including Israel. Of course, we all know that actions are stronger than words so just watch how he votes and not worry so much about how he calibrates the liberty message for broader consumption.

Hi FXOpen, I'm just wondering, is it possible for me to buy a spot here from another member that perhaps doesn't want to participate in this anymore? Tongue  Just wondering Wink

Were not u part of the UpDown.bt sig campaign a few days ago ? Are they having problem with payment ? As u have left the campaign, can u plz say what is going on in that campaign ? Someone are saying that they are paid and some are accusing that they are not. As u r a trusted member, it would be great to know the truth from u...
Read the UpDown.bt Thread. He hasn't confirmed several people, hasn't paid a few of those who even were confirmed, paid the confirmed ones at lower rates than he has promised. Also he's not updating his thread about the payment structure changing. He claims that the limit of participants is 60, yet he has not written anywhere that the campaign is full. Also he's gone over the amount of 60 participants.

I've casually been following it and it seems very sloppy and unorganized.  The simple fact he doesn't acknowledge or confirmed some people tells me he isn't very organized.

The payout problems will be another issue at some point
Actually Updown.bt owner got little time to manage signature campaign thread and was late to make payments as well that's why.

Well here FXO's this week's campaign ends within few hours as well.
It wasn't only late payments that was the issue...
Yeah, I didn't get payment for any of the posts I made on that ticket. The wallet I used was on CS and they were having issues so I gave UpDown the benefit of the doubt. But, the audit they did subsequent to the problems gave me no payment so UD obviously didn't pay or I got lost in the shuffle. Won't go back there.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is helping open a “GOP engagement office” on Saturday in an African-American area of Louisville, part of a frenetic summer schedule aimed at reaching beyond the party’s traditional base, with explicit appeals to minorities and young people.

In late summer or early fall, Paul plans a major foreign policy address that will give him a prime chance to close a gap with establishment Republicans that has been perhaps the biggest hurdle to acceptance of Paul by party elites.

The itinerary will bolster the widespread view among Republican leaders that Paul is doing the most visible spadework of the party’s potential presidential candidates. As a sign of his advanced planning, the senator told AP that he would consider running for reelection and president at the same time, and that a Kentucky ballot law against dual candidacies would not be an obstacle.

Paul, who has traveled to 30 states in the past 12 months (including three trips to the early-presidential-voting South Carolina), showed his flair for unlikely venues by drawing a standing ovation in Berkeley in March.

“I think there are a lot of issues,” Paul told POLITICO in an interview, “from economic development to schools, to criminal justice, that there’s a message that a lot of us are talking about that, if people can embrace it with an open mind, will really, frankly, say, ‘What have the Democrats done for me lately?’”

Next weekend, Paul will be one of several 2016 hopefuls who will address a summit organized by Mitt Romney in Park City, Utah. At the end of July, the senator will speak to the annual Urban League National Conference in Cincinnati. From Aug. 16 to 21, he’ll do pro bono eye surgeries in Guatemala.

This Bull on Parade gets around and there's no one doing what he's doing in terms of trying to rebrand the GOP into a national winning party again. Can't wait to max out to his Presidential run like I did for his old man. Cool Keep your powder dry and growing, yall.

Given the USA centric viewpoint of a lot of posters here, can we assume this affects the USA and oil holding nations only?

A Rand Paul election would have far reaching effects well beyond the US and oil producing nations. A less predatory and aggressive US is good for everyone. Reigning in the drones and the NSA is good for everyone. A return to the constitutional principles of small government is good for everyone.
And add to that a complete audit of the Federal Reserve which will show all Americans what the central banksters have done to their money and their kids' futures which would likely go hand in hand w/ the continued growth in BTC adoption. It would be a no-brainer for the masses that were shown the corruption in black and white to want to get into some other form of currency and hedge against the demise of the petro dollar.

yeah but they need to push bitcoin some more, maybe with discounts. today its only promo (but still nice, for DISH and BTC)
Perhaps at some point these BTC taking companies will do that and showcase it in their ads. That'd be great free advertising for crypto. At least Overstock bent over backward and ran with it. Tiger Direct, not so much iirc.

Irrespective of RTs take on BTC, it's good to have that channel on the dial in some cable packages in hopes that more people will stumble upon it and challenge their own vision of what's actually going on in the world.
