5701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC legislation, is it really that bad? on: April 05, 2015, 10:48:07 AM
security is a big problem right now, it culd help if government can support bitcoin in this side, but not at the cost of having a centralized system, i want bitcoin to remain free

there was a topic where i suggested a 2fa to be added directly in the client, a sort of login information that pup up when you launch the client, and it ask you for a code after you enter login and pass, like an exchange

this would add a better security against wallet stealer, especially with hot wallet, which seems to be used by many newbies

I m not talking about security. I am talking about investment options and projects. Cause we re way past the time where people would buy BTC, hoard it and wait for the price to go up. I m talking about what do you do with you BTC once you buy them. After all, if all of us buy BTC and hoard them, there will be no developments inside BTC economy, no growth. As in every other economy, there must be transactions.
In order for people to perform transactions, they need to have some sort of consumer protection and this is what I think legislaton should be aimed towards. How I, as an ordinary BTC user, can be protected if I decide to invest my BTC into something. Paypal s got charge back and laws supporting it, credit cards s got protection and laws supporting it, BTC s got nothing. I think this is one of MAJOR BTC flaws which needs to be solved in the future.

I think they ll fix, they usually do. Just do not hope for any kind or support over the weekend or outside business hours.

works for me now

Yes, I can confirm it works now. After 24 hours, my withdrawal got executed as well. Hashnest s fully operational.

5704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Genesis Mining vs GAW Mining Hashlet Primes and Mining Sweden updates on: April 05, 2015, 07:02:10 AM
hi
have anybody calced the ROI of these services and make a ROI comparison of them ?

I did before, it was about 400 days. Not sure with current price movements. BTW, Kapetan, where did you get such a bad rating, I know you from Hashtalk, you do seem as an honest person.
5705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have a feeling BTC has slowed down a bit? on: April 05, 2015, 07:00:07 AM
I still read the boards every now and then but I am out. Completely. Bitcoin solves nothing for me but it was a great way to make extra cash since I discovered it. But the easy money is gone for me personally and I think the people like me will move on to other things. Very neat idea though but just another type of fiat currency in monetary economics. A house built on sand in other words. I highly doubt it will have any value in 20 years as something else will replace it. Internet users are a fickle bunch.

I've witnessed that too. People are moving on. There's a small fraction of the users here now that were here when I first registered. Even the evangelistic born again Bitcoiners are gone now. I always chalked it up to kids graduating, growing up and starting their real lives. Everyone is idealistic in college. Save the whales, save the trees, free (insert current martyr here) slowly becomes feed the kids, pay the mortgage, please the boss.

I'm not gone, I'm just on other platforms more often.  I find that a lot of people here seem to ask the noob stuff all too often.  I think you can find many of us still active on places like facebook twitter reddit instagram has some... This place is good, but relatively, but I wish that the marketplace section was more active.

Yeah, I see some people that have been here a long time. Satoshi considered this to be the main forum for Bitcoin info and development and it's losing the oldest supporters. Either this forum is losing it's position in the Bitcoin world as you suggest or people are moving on and losing interest for whatever reason (graduating, scammed out of their faith in the system, scared of the legal standing, finally see the fight will be decades not months).

You cannot lose interest in BTC, not if you are really into this. You can if you get scammed, especially multiple times. About people leaving the industry due to personal reasons, that can happen, but wouldn't these get replaced by new entrants. This is exactly what I am talking about. I do not see so many new entrants to the BTC economy as before. Consequently, the number of good projects has decreased. Who s to blame? IMHO, SCAMMERS.
5706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BTC legislation, is it really that bad? on: April 05, 2015, 06:55:39 AM
Would establishing legislation dealing with BTC, followed by an enforcing body, be that bad for BTC? In other words, would having a body, agency or an entity you can turn to and ask for help in case you get scammed be a bad thing for BTC? I ve witnessed multi million dollar BTC related scams not being investigated or penalized in any way. How can BTC economy get better in the future? Pls share your opinion about this one since I feel this is the most important problem which hampers faster BTC adoption.
5707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still in the year 2013. How do we get past it? on: April 05, 2015, 06:48:15 AM
The biggest flaw related to BTC is anonymity. This trait is what has made hackers, scammers, ponzi admins, ponzi pumpers and similar scum to become extremely interested in BTC.
This economy cannot grow without tons of small and successful projects, this is what makes people interested in new tech, success stories. If the entire crypto community consists of suspicious or semi-suspicious projects, who s gonna want to be part of it? Only those scammers and you cannot build economy on that.

As much as I do not like saying that, we do need some form of limited legislation related to BTC or this project s not gonna continue to grow.
5708  Economy / Securities / Re: Anything sustainable worth of investing? on: April 05, 2015, 06:43:45 AM
Ok, thx, will definitely dip a toe into this. For more serious investments, we ll have to talk privately.

I would also suggest you make all that info about you, the actual mining address and everything else related to transparency easily accessible via the website. Most of people avoid these kind of investments due to so many scams around and are generally not ready to dig forums up searching for this info.

Thx
5709  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: April 05, 2015, 06:38:34 AM
Until lending websites introduce some form of investor protection, investing in lending s no different then BTC gambling. You can have all possible info about the lender, he can have great credit history and still can turn bad and you will not be able to do anything about it. BTCjam providing us with info of the lender means nothing to me, what am I going to do with personal info from a lender in Austria or China or Brazil?

The only thing which works here s collateral.
5710  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: April 05, 2015, 06:34:23 AM
Accounts locked for 24 hours and not a single word from support during this time. Nice, very nice.
5711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: April 04, 2015, 10:01:01 PM
The same here, audit, regardless of the amount. Let us not make panic, it should be resolved in the next couple of hours.
5712  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No collateral!!! on: April 04, 2015, 06:42:29 PM
I quite enjoy reading the lending section. Particularly because of the newbies asking g for loans. However what I'm noticing is NOBODY seems to ask for a loan having got collateral. There's a sticky that says you need it but nobody ever has any yet loans still get given.

No wonder people keep coming back asking for insecure loans. Those are the only loans given here...

I would never even consider giving an unsecured loan. With all these scammers around, you simply cannot trust BTC people anymore. 8 of out 10 projects are scams, this is the result of the lack of regulation.
Also, I always tend to use specialized lending websites, BTClend and similar.
5713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need alternative to circle, buy bitcoins instantly with debit card/bank account? on: April 04, 2015, 06:40:16 PM
Well I can't use cex.io because of the state I live in.

Why is that? I wasn't aware Cex.io s got any limitations, after all they are based in London, the heart of EU financial sector.
5714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which countries or currencies do not have their own bitcoin exchange yet ? on: April 04, 2015, 06:38:39 PM
I think neither Serbia not Bosnia have their own exchanges. There is a small one in Croatia and Bitstamp in Slovenia. However, all these are tiny markets, I m sure it s not profitable to run exchanges there.
5715  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2FA Options - Which is best? POLL on: April 04, 2015, 04:21:39 PM
I really like authy, it has never failed me, UI s much better then Google and their support s fast and responsive.
Besides these two, I have not tried the rest.
5716  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investing on: April 04, 2015, 04:09:45 PM
Because we have diversified long and short term investments, we are able to make 1%-2% a day with diligence.

Thanks
Caleb

I did say I value transparency. Your reports do not provide that. They simple state balance, profit, total. Not enough for serious people to invest. I suggest you modify that. I also suggest you provide a bit of personal data on the website and/or reports. If you re legit, you ve got nothing to hide.
5717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was Bitcoin shut down for 8 hours? on: April 04, 2015, 04:06:17 PM
No, this is not possible and it did not take place. This is just another nerd searching for attention, twitter followers etc.
5718  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: fund BIT-X account with credit card on: April 04, 2015, 10:58:00 AM
It hard to vouch for anyone these days but yes, they seem to be OK. Still, go slowly, invest a bit and if you like, increase it.
5719  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Antminer S6 and S7 Speculation on: April 04, 2015, 05:49:32 AM
The more I think about it.  Now is a better time to get into bitcoin mining than it was a year ago.  One does not have to be concerned with as large of an increase in difficulty now as they did a year ago.  I can't imagine having to increase my hash rate more than 700 times what it was a year prior to mine the same amount of bitcoin that I mined a year prior.  The main thing holding most back at the moment is the price of bitcoin in relation to their power costs.  Those who move to an area with extremely low power costs stand a better chance of surviving.  Especially, when the blocks halve.

This may and may not be true. Yes, it s correct, we do not see those 40% monthly diff jumps anymore and I hope we ll not see this with current available hardware. However, I m sure companies are working on next gen and next next gen which might increase their efficiency big time. Probably the only limiting factor is this limping BTC price. If it starts picking up, more money will be available for development as well.
5720  Economy / Securities / Re: Anything sustainable worth of investing? on: April 04, 2015, 05:44:53 AM
We are offering BURST assets that are based around the function of our company and our new products. We also base our assets on trading. We have enough power in mining to back them all and we keep adding more. Right now the ROI is around a year, but we're constantly adding more to give more to everyone. Our main asset is called ByteEnt. Backed by fee on our pool (second largest currently in the world for BURST.)

We also offer a more risky investment that is based off our altcoin trading. Then another that pays interest of 2% a month.

They are trusted investments that we will continue to build and make better.

We have a great team and continue to release new projects.

(currently the block explorer is down for some maintenance and switching to a new server as the coder for this is currently out of town.)

I know this isn't a BTC investment, (well, aside from the most risky asset which we only accept BTC for as to not dump BURST.) But I just wanted to show that there are a few people still trying to offer legit investments for people in the crypto market.

http://byte.enterprises

edit: we also plan to offer a true cloudmining operation that is based in BURST. The reason this can work is due to BURST being mined on hard drives. The model is completely different than someone mining BTC. The power consumption is MUCH lower. Only issue currently is BURST price causing ROI to be longer than a year, so I can't price anything exactly right to work for everyone quite yet. But that is down the line we still plan to offer this as well. If we can make it feasible.

If we do offer any cloud setups, proof will be provided in forms of accounts you can watch mining on our pool, and pictures of the farm given to those who ask in PM. Could also arrange for video.

But this is still a ways off yet.

This sounds interesting. What are up to date results of the fund? Is there any table where we can see how did you do in the past?

The assets were all just released, as it took us a few months to get built up and build our projects and sites and have something to show. We have just done our first payout for ByteEnt asset, and it came out to about 5% for the month for everyone. This will soon go up.

The other asset ByteBank, paid its 2% for the month.

The third asset hasn't really been pushed for investors yet, and we will be pushing that more in the future. As of right now we're mostly focused on the first two assets. However, if we had a sizeable investor that wanted to give the project a kick-start, it would be welcomed. Smiley

Wait, I see only two assents on the website, the bank and the fund. What s the third one and which are operational ATM?

Up higher, middle of the page, one that covers company is called ByteEnt (ByteEnterprises)

They're all 3 "operational" there just has been no real push on ByteFund yet. ByteBank and ByteEnt have made their first official payouts as of 2 days ago on the first of the month.

Ok, thx. Another question I always ask related to new investments projects. What about transparency, who s behind this? What guarantee do investors have you will not run away next week with out money? Pls do not get me wrong but I am sure you are aware of the number of scams in the BTC economy. 8 out of 10 projects are scams, IMHO.
