5701  Other / Meta / Re: Report Sufficiently Answered Topic(s) to Lock on: April 18, 2018, 02:52:46 AM
Using that "auto-lock" feature will help necro-posting but not the spam problem.
-snip-
I said "that" means that I'm talking about the quoted part from TheQuin's post (above the paragraph) which is the "lock after x number of days without post".
And you quoted only a part of my post which broken the whole statement.

Did you even read my whole post, including the quoted message?

@Jet Cash Read the first sentence of my post above.
5702  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Dormant Bitcoin Address Mining Homemade Way on: April 17, 2018, 07:49:50 AM
This is what makes me wonder. theres no hidden things, just a big number that is away from human comprehension and (nowadays)  achievement. Shocked
What is your (and the Huge Bitcoin Collider's) goal by doing this?

Why don't you just use that huge computing power to mine a suitable algorithm to earn Altcoins, convert it to Bitcoins...
and voala! Same results.
5703  Other / Meta / Re: This guy (or bot) is so crappy on: April 17, 2018, 07:28:01 AM
-snip-
the post seems to be labeled "D1" and something tells me if its not a bot he might be leaving letters/numbers/words after his posts in order to have some kind of signature to identify that it is his post for other members to recognize.
I have a better theory, that account belongs to multiple users that post spam in shifting schedule. The "signatures" might be the identifiers.
Maybe user 1 is Go Green! and user 2 and co. is the one who uses the D....
5704  Other / Meta / Re: Can we have a separate board for Altcoin Technical Support & Discussion ? on: April 17, 2018, 06:48:33 AM
Shouldn't those Altcoins got their own forums, in their own domain?

A slightly irrelevant board "Altcoin Discussion" was already here in Bitcointalk, and that should be sufficient for general non-bitcoin discussions.
The heavy technical "talks" for each of every Altcoins should be discussed in their own forum (or in the Altcoin Discussion Board at least).

But really, whenever I see an Altcoin-related question in the Bitcoin Technical Discussion, I've always seeing a misled users that doesn't have the idea of what the Author's talking about.
Those topics should be moved to Altcoin Discussion whatever it is, technical or general discussion.

gmaxwell is a core developer, he got a better badge [Bitcoin_Developer] than the "book" bitcoin expert badge.
Look at the left side (Under the coins) of his latest post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3069524.msg31735429#msg31735429

achow101 is the best nominee to this list, he can accurately point out and correct mistakes from the member's replies and posts in the D&TD Board.
5707  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We created a site featuring merchants who offer discounts for bitcoin use on: April 16, 2018, 08:08:25 AM
There are no Ads in the page, and it's (making it) clean. I'd also checked and there's no malicious programs either, that's great.
I bet that the current daily visitors count isn't that phenomenal, right.
But as one of the pioneers that offers services like this, you may gain the mainstream's trust after a while which is all you need to be on top.

How do you monetize your service? If you don't mind.

Like we haven't already seen those in page 1 and top of page 2.
You just literally replied the same list from the previous replies' submissions. Not reading the replies?

At least a review (no spoilers) would be great, I don't want to waste an hour or more of my time watching uninteresting documentaries.
5709  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cpu mining and mobile mining bitcoins ? on: April 16, 2018, 06:52:28 AM
Do you know any software from which i can earn daily $2 or $3 using old computer (bitcoins) and from mobile.

Thanks for answering and providing link.

Ahmed.
Like they said, there's nothing you can use to earn $2 daily using an old computer or android devices.

But since you're a newbie (Yes Jrs are newbies too).
You might be talking about those micro-earnings like faucet sites that rewards Satoshi.

Try coinpot.co, after registration, go to bitcoins (menu) and select "Mine Bitcoin" to earn some satoshi depending on your hashrate.
Take note that this is not a "Real" mining operation but a kind of a gimmick (CoinHive-based), but the site rewards you satoshis instead of XMR.
You can claim to their faucets too, use the developer's referral links (from their ANN Thread) if you want to "thank" them at least.

Just don't expect higher than $1 a day using that old computer alone (You'll pay more electric bill than the reward  Roll Eyes).
5710  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is the network under attack in some way? on: April 15, 2018, 11:32:28 AM
-snip-
Anyway, out of curiosity, even if the date was accurate, why would this be an attack? Aren't network attacks usually the opposite? Spamming transactions so that the mempool gets full, the network gets slower and fees get higher?
The OP's query was already answered or disproved after a day from this post:
The latest date displayed in the graph is 04-10-2018 has not even ended in other Timezones (it's still Tuesday in some parts of the world)
That value must be a quarter to half average of the final result.

Check it again tomorrow and if still displays sub 50,000s, there's really a huge drop in activities by Bitcoin wallet/node users.
Check the current number of transactions (in blockchain.info) And hover your mouse pointer to the date 2018/04/11 or 04/12, you'll see that it's already updated and there's no huge drop in number of transactions.
Not blockchain.info's inaccuracy, neither (Although, displaying the partial count can make misunderstandings like this)

I requested to lock this thread (And PMed the Author) since it still causing misinformation among the (...) members.
5711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Last Hope: Atomic Bomb - Crypto War on: April 15, 2018, 11:06:00 AM
Is this a real idea or just a silly thought? -Edit, just saw the steam link-
'Coz someone might buy this idea to make something like a free JFF game.

A 3rd-person stealth open-word themed version can make this popular, with a good physics engine of course (especially in the breast and butt area) You will even attract non-crypto gamers out there, and Trump supporters too (they really like the jiggles).

Make use of Tokens, otherwise, that was just another FPS game.
With Ethereum's Smart Contract, everything (stupid) is possible... and profitable.
5712  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What is Smart Contract? Very Basic Understanding on: April 15, 2018, 09:33:00 AM
Understanding Smart Contract for non technical person is impossible. I have worked on Simplest explanation for Students. Please do share your review Smiley
Then, this shouldn't be here in the "Technical" Discussion board.

It's good, but the term "Smart Contract" is Ethereum's thinggy, so this should be in the Altcoin Discussion Board instead.  Smiley

chard lie : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1923047
luan la : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1923047
Both had used the same telegram user name: @mimian1

And as an addition, that person's naming style was so obvious that every account he used were always composed of 2 names (luan la, tera do, nani kuli; lame and obvious).
Others marked with orange might be someone else's alt.

If this keeps on going, your bounty campaign will be ruined.
I suggest you to increase the minimum requirement to Members.

We really need to add at least 5 merit requirement for Junior Members, as soon as possible.
5714  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Quest - a brain twister, by solving it you get bitcoins! on: April 15, 2018, 03:42:54 AM
Yes I can sign a message using that address, but why?
Considering that the reward is not escrowed, a signed message can somewhat ease skeptic members's doubts of the legitimacy of your project.

Just add something like this in the OP and you're good.
Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

5715  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Quest - a brain twister, by solving it you get bitcoins! on: April 14, 2018, 10:30:25 AM
There are already words in the picture, were those for misguidance?
An Automated software can't be tricked by that.

You’ll be able to see exactly how much money is going into the main prize fund — isn’t Bitcoin’s public ledger great for transparency?
https://blockchain.info/address/1NnAYGJhppSNNeRhRpTgyiKVyacRec8PTf
Yes but, it's better if you/team can provide a signed message to 1NnAYGJhppSNNeRhRpTgyiKVyacRec8PTf address (for verification purposes).

The painting looks well detailed, someone will pay big bucks for a framed original version of that image, but not me.
5716  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: withdrawl from coinpot wont go to my wallet account on: April 14, 2018, 05:46:36 AM
Means you simply cannot withdraw your funds, no missing funds?
I'm assuming that this is the scenario due to your title: "withdrawl from coinpot wont go to my wallet account"

After "requesting" a withdrawal, did you checked your email address associated with your Coinpot account for confirmation link?
Because the withdrawal will be cancelled if you did not confirm it within the time period.

Here's a sample confirmation email from Coinpot:
Quote
Hi

We have received a request to withdraw 0.0005 btc from your CoinPot account to 3XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
To confirm this withdrawal please click on the following confirmation link...

https://coinpot.co/security/confirmwithdrawal/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

(Note: For security reasons, this link will expire and become unusable within 60 minutes - after which you will need to make a new withdrawal request)

If you did not make this withdrawal request then there is a possibility that someone has managed to gain unauthorised access to your CoinPot account.
Please take the following steps to protect your funds...
1) Click on this link to CANCEL the request https://coinpot.co/security/cancelwithdrawal/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
2) Change your CoinPot password to something more secure
3) We strongly recommend that you enable 2FA on your account to increase its security

Kind Regards
CoinPot
5717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Melted the PSU cable and riser adaptor... on: April 14, 2018, 03:44:24 AM
In addition to what Elder III said, Sata to 8/6 pin isn't safe to use in extreme conditions like mining.

The reason is, the wires. The 8 Pin connector is basically four 12v (yellow) and four neutrals (black) while sata has only one yellow wire.
By using the adapter, the single 12v rail from the sata will be forced to deliver power to all four ports of the 8pin connector.
This makes the current (ampere) in that wire high enough for the insulator to melt.

TL;DR: Do not use Sata to 6/8pin adapter to power a GPU alone. Those are designed as a supplement for Old double 6-pin GPUs.
5718  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Will a failed transaction get included on the chain? on: April 13, 2018, 07:10:38 AM
In Bitcoin, an unconfirmed transaction's inputs will return to the original wallet if it stayed unconfirmed for a long time (failed).
Unless you/someone rebroadcast that transaction, it will stay in "limbo" for a while.

In other words, a failed transaction will "reset" like nothing happened.
5719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP: Temperature high in custom closed air rig on: April 13, 2018, 05:29:36 AM
So, it's a closed rig, I guess to avoid dust?
If the room temperature is high, a closed system has more consequences than advantages. An AC will definitely work to your scenario, though.

If the room temp is fine, it's definitely the internal airflow. Either your fan sucks or positioning problem.

Another way is to try to lower down room temperature! It actually helps a lot for closed rigs
Like this for example, you can install an AC if you're using a closed rig casing.
5720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PLEASE HELP WITH GETTING STARTED !! on: April 12, 2018, 07:17:54 AM
If you know someone who got a mining farm or a garage, talk to him.
You will pay for the electricity and internet for your miner and rent for the space cheaply or expensive depending on your contract.
Or Rent a warehouse together with other miners, the rent will be divided equally or depending on the number of rigs and power consumption.
~That's colocation.

Sorry to day this but, today, you wont even reach 0.01% ROI from mining Ethereum using that rig without cheap/free electricity.
You can re-sell the Whole Rig or Per Parts to get a Capital Return.

Research more about "mining" before trying to start.

Lacking space and power? It would help a tad bit if you expounded on what you are trying to get help with..
OP must be talking about:
  • Space: Might be living in an apartment with no garage or even a basement.
  • Power: Again, he might be in an apartment with Max 12-15A total current (220V).
