5701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cryptocurrency is better than fiat currency? on: January 03, 2020, 11:49:48 PM
I see only one positive difference between crypto and fiat, is that crypto is still decentralized, but in terms of usability, fiat is more convenient.

It's more convenient only because shops and business adopted to cash and credit cards. Once they adopt to cryptocurrencies, this payment could be as fast as swiping a card.
5702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: which year Bitcoin will be 100% mined? on: January 03, 2020, 11:45:29 PM
2140 is that year. Am I the only one who is sad because none of us will be there to see that last mined bitcoin? Many of us were still alive when first bitcoin was mined. We will not be there in 2140 but bitcointalk.org and our posts will live till that date.

This is only an estimated year. Many things can happen until then - bitcoin protocol can change. Anyway, 2,860,412.5 bitcoins are left to be mined and even after the last one is shared as a block reward, this will not be the end of bitcoin because miners will keep receiving transaction fees.

Congrats to all the winners. Some really generous prizes there!

I was wondering if amount of Bitcoins invested to Bitvest will drop today because of "Proof of Keys" event (read about it)
The charts are showing that Total Invested actually increased slightly today. Total invested Bitcoin amount is around 180 BTC which is close to yearly low but there were no extraordinary moves today. People divested mostly in July and December 2019.
5704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BST BlockStamp - A blockchain fairness ecosystem on: January 03, 2020, 11:12:19 PM
This growth looks suspicious to me. Was there a major announcement or something? I know it's not the first time BST passed $1 but the jump in price happened in a moment and that is not natural.

5705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ROCK] Social Club Rocks - Gaming Token on QAE-1 on: January 03, 2020, 10:56:00 PM
Thanks for 1000 ROCK and 1000 CGT.

Why did you decide for a token name ROCK? There is already a token "ROCK2" of the ICO called Ice Rock Mining and they also have a token "ROCK" from the first phase of crowdfunding - https://ethplorer.io/address/0xdfbd6a960a55bcfcf59d5925351e05a51498bcef

P.S. I noticed that all Bitcoin faucets on your website are empty. Do you plan to fill them or find a donor?
5707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TDC on: January 03, 2020, 10:09:27 PM
Please explain this quote from the website:
Quote
Important reminder: TDC is a cryptocurrency designed for active use in transactions. If you leave your coins to lie inactive in your wallet for more than a year, you will lose 1% of your coin balance; in each consecutive year, your balance will be reduced by 10%.

What is the purpose of this? I think this is unfair to all the people who will hold TDC for longer period of time. If you want to encourage transactions (which generate mining fees), why don't you take only a small fixed fee? No one would use Bitcoin if tx fee was 1% let alone 10%.
5708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DMS] Documentchain.org | Document notarization blockchain | YescryptR32 on: January 03, 2020, 09:58:06 PM
Of course we would like to make the project better known. English press releases will follow soon.

Did you try contacting companies like music record labels, engineering companies, law firms and offer them your product and free support for a limited time? I see Documentchain more as a tool for companies, not so much for individuals.
5709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto.com - The Pioneering Payments & Cryptocurrency Platform on: January 03, 2020, 09:06:46 PM
will we see our cards shipped to EU customers in this 2020 year?
why is taking so long to send them out?

They made an announcement about Europe in October 2019 but with no shipping date: https://blog.crypto.com/crypto-com-card-program-receives-green-light-for-europe/
I remember they said Q1 2020 but I can't find the quote on crypto.com website, only people mentioning that on Reddit. I guess they don't know more accurately and we simply need to wait.
5710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 03, 2020, 07:29:40 PM
According to this Journalist https://twitter.com/MadsWehlast

Eriksen is a deal done to Inter in the next weeks for a 20-24 Milion €.
I will very surprised if he will end there for 20M to Spurs and 12M as salary.

Odds for this move dropped to 1/1 (Decimal 2.00) on Sky Bet. Next club in line for Eriksen is Man United at 5/1. I think United would be more suitable for him but maybe he doesn't want to play against his former club so he decided for Italians.
5711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Gambling on Mobile Devices on: January 03, 2020, 07:08:46 PM
Have you ever gambled from your mobile device (preferably smartphone)?

I know that some online gambling sites adapt themselves to mobile devices. But I'm talking about applications that you install on your phone which allow you to gamble anytime, anywhere. For Android, I've toppled with an app called "CoinPoker" which allows you to play Poker on the go with cryptocurrency. I'm sure there are other apps out there, but that's the only one I've found. For ETH-based gambling sites, I use the "Cipher" wallet to interact with them on my phone. Per my experience, it's much more convenient to gamble on a mobile device than a computer. But everyone has their unique preferences within the mainstream world.

If you happen to know of good Android apps which allow you gamble with crypto, please let me know. Also, feel free to share your experience when gambling using a mobile device. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

Is CoinPoker a trusted app? I can't find it on Android Play Store, I can only download APK from their website.

For me it's more convenient to play dice and roulette on PC, I only use mobile phone to place sport bets and even for betting I prefer PC.
5712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FA Cup: Wolves VS Manchester United on: January 03, 2020, 05:53:18 PM
Wolves VS Manchester United
Kick off: 17:31 GMT, Jan. 4th, 2019

All eyes will be on Molineux Stadium when Wolverhampton and Manchester United face each other in the FA Cup round 3 derby. The Wolves have been having their ups and downs in the Premier League this season, but they sit in the top half of the standings ahead of the FA Cup game. Raul Jimenez is enjoying yet another successful season, and all eyes will be on the Mexico international when the two teams face each other in Saturday's football match.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, are still in the race for a place in the Champions League, but they have big ambitions for the 2019/2020 FA Cup campaign as well. Man Utd are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Nuno Espirito Santo's troops, and given Wolverhampton's attacking potential, both teams to score bet should be considered.

Possible result: 1-1, how do you think?

Both teams to score is my pick too. However I also think there will be more than 2 goals. United lost against Arsenal and scored none but if you watched the game, you know they had their chances and more shots on target than Arsenal. Both teams will score and I think they will go all in and risk towards the end if result will be equalised. United in particular has busy schedule and last thing they need is a rematch against Wolves. So a third goal is very likely.

5713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I quit my job to do full-time crypto-trading. Made 12 BTC profit last month on: January 03, 2020, 05:00:34 PM
The head and shoulder pattern didn't evolve exactly like anticipated but maybe the whole thing is more stretched and the second shoulder formed now. Let's see if Bitcoin breaks resistance at $7670 - this would be a strong bullish signal in my opinion. If it fails, the pattern was bull trap and drop to bellow $7000 is likely. Do you have any trades open Mark or you're waiting like I do?
5714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: January 03, 2020, 01:16:56 PM
Seems like we all agree here on Sevilla match. William Hill offers odds 3.10 on "Sevilla Win and Under 2.5 Goals", you can find this under Goals tab, "Match x Goals"

I have similar expectations from Valladolid - Leganes match. Under 2.5 goals @1.35. Low odds but realistic for this match. I think Leganes will not score today. They have only 4 goals in 8 away games.

For today's pick, we go with NCAA - College Football again. We'll gonna go with Tennessee Volunteers -1.5 points over Indiana Hoosiers. Write ups and screenshot to follow as per usual. God Bless guys and Grind On!  Wink

Tennessee Volunteers won with a little bit of luck in last minutes but this was not enough for our bet. Let's get more luck today! Any tips for tonight's NBA? Houston -4.5 maybe?

Waiting for today's match. I will bet conservatively (small stake) as you haven't convinced me yet. I am willing to share part of profit as a sign of appreciation and to get the next match from you.
5718  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Data Leak on Twitter on: January 01, 2020, 10:38:48 PM
The tweet was deleted minutes after Poloniex announce there was a leak, anyone has real proof that the leak is from Poloniex? it seems for me that this is a shady hack, no real proof of it.
Maybe Poloniex was trying to get some exposure on the news, the exchange is already dead and more bad publicity will not really affect them.

It's not really dead, it still has 41 million USD daily volume and is ranked #65 on CMC. It used to be in the very top back in 2017 so it is in decline, that's true.

5720  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of crypto trading do you recommend with $50 investment? on: December 27, 2019, 11:59:03 PM
There are ways to invest into small time leverage as well, that way you can put just 50 bucks but also go for that x100 and maybe you will get lucky? I mean you can lose all of it all at once but there is also a chance of making a lot of money all of a sudden as well.

If you buy 50 bucks worth of long on 100x right now and price goes to $9k+ then you will probably make more money than you can ever make for a whole year with regular trading. Sure, it is risky and sure it could potentially lead to you losing all of your money in just couple of minutes with margin of error being so small however it is also the biggest reward there is you can hope from a 50 dollar investment aside from putting it on gambling and hoping you get lucky on some casino.

I don't think that's a good advice. Anything above 10x leverage is extremely risky and people with budget of $50 are usually not experienced enough to take such risk. It's better idea to start with small leverages like 2x or 5x.
