Why won't they just die? ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) If this strategy draft is true, hopefully they keep their word as far as refunding all those coins. At least they're showing Karpeles fat incompetent ass the door, but that exchange name will forever be known as "the crooked insolvent exchange" Mt. or no Mt. Gox.

Bravo, about time.
Much needed by the community leaders to show Gox the door. On to the next phase for Bitcoin.

Hmm, maybe I'll get a Playboy plus subscription. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I haven't looked at or read a playboy since....the internet! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Those clowns at CNBC love to take swings at "the Bitcoin nerds" every chance they get.
They must love every time there's a negative headline like Gox, Shrem, or Silk Road to gloat about "fake virtual money with no intrinsic value used for money laundering".
But when it's a known criminal like Jamie Dimon or say the head of one those criminal banks or financial institutions, they looove to give them a "CNBC exclusive interview".

Looking forward to Phase-2.
Although Mt. Gox was there for Bitcoin's beginnings, in order to move onto the future, this had to be done.
I'm glad all the major players in this industry decided to stick together through Gox's impending death. Their incompetence has been on display for a long while now, and now it's time to shutter it's doors.
Sad to see a part of history gone, but glad to see the sunshine through the dark clouds.

Great job sticking together for the major heads of the cryptocurrency industry.
We all just have to weather this FUD shitstorm, rebound, and move on from Gox's shadow. Gox may have been first, but it's proven without a doubt to be the worst online exchange.
|
|
|
Yes, but, is it still twitching? Careful..
Gox is like a cockroach, you have to squish it dead completely. Love the joint statement by all the major players, that's like RAID to the bug. Now we just need someone/something to stomp it to kingdom come!

|
|
Sorry to hear about people still having coins stuck at Gox, but the writing is definitely on the wall now.
End is definitely near(for Gox).

people here are incredible everyone wanted him to resign and when he does, BTC price tanks?! ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) This was a necessary evil. It sucks in the short term, but hopefully this will lead to either his dismissal as Gox CEO or Gox shutting it's doors for good. 2 steps back to take one step forward.

This the golden age of bitcoin is just starting. And I'm certain 2014 is one them.
What makes you think so? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) what makes you think different? Bitcoin is future of monetary system and each year it must get stronger to help us to live better lives! Yup, definitely early days still. Every technological innovation goes through a growing phase. This is essentially just year 5 of something most of us believe will be here awhile. Once Gox is gone for good, you can believe 2014 will be another banner year. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

I personally like mining.thegenesisblock.com as you can tweak the values and most of the major manufacturers are already listed. Easy to use and look at too.

At this point forget about mining Bitcoin, as the price to invest in an ASIC is too expensive(Thousands of Dollars).
If you just want to mine as a hobby and learn the tech, get an USB one: Red or Blue Fury or AntMiner U1.
Bitcoin is relatively cheap nowadays, just buy half or 1 whole and hold.
|
|
|
Wait for AsicMiner to come out with something in March/April. Should be interesting and cost competitive.

|
Wow 1-2 petahash! That's a quite impressive. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Care to share pictures of that monster mining rig? I'm sure you could operate your own mining pool with that amount of power.

Baby steps to ridding the Bitcoin community of the 1000 lb Gorilla in the room.
Next Gox and Karpales have to finally close its doors.
This can only be good news overall.

Minion ASIC - Tapeout complete 23/02/2014: We are happy to report that VeriSilicon has completed our Minion ASIC yesterday and taped out to Global Foundries today. Black Arrow is working hard to improve the existing designs of our miners and ensure that the pre-ordered miners will be assembled and dispatched immediately after the chips arrive from the factory.
Thank you so much! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Great news and looking forward to the finished design of the miner.
