5721  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: withdrawl from coinpot wont go to my wallet account on: April 14, 2018, 05:46:36 AM
Means you simply cannot withdraw your funds, no missing funds?
I'm assuming that this is the scenario due to your title: "withdrawl from coinpot wont go to my wallet account"

After "requesting" a withdrawal, did you checked your email address associated with your Coinpot account for confirmation link?
Because the withdrawal will be cancelled if you did not confirm it within the time period.

Here's a sample confirmation email from Coinpot:
Quote
Hi

We have received a request to withdraw 0.0005 btc from your CoinPot account to 3XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
To confirm this withdrawal please click on the following confirmation link...

https://coinpot.co/security/confirmwithdrawal/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

(Note: For security reasons, this link will expire and become unusable within 60 minutes - after which you will need to make a new withdrawal request)

If you did not make this withdrawal request then there is a possibility that someone has managed to gain unauthorised access to your CoinPot account.
Please take the following steps to protect your funds...
1) Click on this link to CANCEL the request https://coinpot.co/security/cancelwithdrawal/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
2) Change your CoinPot password to something more secure
3) We strongly recommend that you enable 2FA on your account to increase its security

Kind Regards
CoinPot
5722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Melted the PSU cable and riser adaptor... on: April 14, 2018, 03:44:24 AM
In addition to what Elder III said, Sata to 8/6 pin isn't safe to use in extreme conditions like mining.

The reason is, the wires. The 8 Pin connector is basically four 12v (yellow) and four neutrals (black) while sata has only one yellow wire.
By using the adapter, the single 12v rail from the sata will be forced to deliver power to all four ports of the 8pin connector.
This makes the current (ampere) in that wire high enough for the insulator to melt.

TL;DR: Do not use Sata to 6/8pin adapter to power a GPU alone. Those are designed as a supplement for Old double 6-pin GPUs.
5723  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Will a failed transaction get included on the chain? on: April 13, 2018, 07:10:38 AM
In Bitcoin, an unconfirmed transaction's inputs will return to the original wallet if it stayed unconfirmed for a long time (failed).
Unless you/someone rebroadcast that transaction, it will stay in "limbo" for a while.

In other words, a failed transaction will "reset" like nothing happened.
5724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP: Temperature high in custom closed air rig on: April 13, 2018, 05:29:36 AM
So, it's a closed rig, I guess to avoid dust?
If the room temperature is high, a closed system has more consequences than advantages. An AC will definitely work to your scenario, though.

If the room temp is fine, it's definitely the internal airflow. Either your fan sucks or positioning problem.

Another way is to try to lower down room temperature! It actually helps a lot for closed rigs
Like this for example, you can install an AC if you're using a closed rig casing.
5725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PLEASE HELP WITH GETTING STARTED !! on: April 12, 2018, 07:17:54 AM
If you know someone who got a mining farm or a garage, talk to him.
You will pay for the electricity and internet for your miner and rent for the space cheaply or expensive depending on your contract.
Or Rent a warehouse together with other miners, the rent will be divided equally or depending on the number of rigs and power consumption.
~That's colocation.

Sorry to day this but, today, you wont even reach 0.01% ROI from mining Ethereum using that rig without cheap/free electricity.
You can re-sell the Whole Rig or Per Parts to get a Capital Return.

Research more about "mining" before trying to start.

Lacking space and power? It would help a tad bit if you expounded on what you are trying to get help with..
OP must be talking about:
  • Space: Might be living in an apartment with no garage or even a basement.
  • Power: Again, he might be in an apartment with Max 12-15A total current (220V).
5726  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How exchange's BTC/altcoin market works? on: April 12, 2018, 05:44:27 AM
In simple words, exchanges aren't using any coins' blockchain in the trades within the platform, they're only displaying the balances and trades "visually" not on-chain... in exception to withdrawals.

At this time, where actually his 1 btc gone? To EX's bitcoin wallet? But originally A's bitcoin deposit address is EX's wallet's address, right?
It will stay in that BTC address if they didn't already moved the balance. | Yes

To understand this, in your own wallets (ex. core or electrum), you have the total control over the private keys of your addresses.
In exchanges, they are only giving you the address (they have the PrivKey) which they issue when you want to deposit your funds that will be "recorded" to their database as your balance.
After that, they can move the funds from that address whenever they want, however, it will not affect your displayed balance in your exchange account.

You can check this your own by checking your deposit address in any blockexplorer like blockchain.info.
You will notice that sometimes the balance is still there even if you already traded your Bitcoins.
5727  Other / Meta / Re: Merit giveaway for Members, Jr. Members & Newbies on: April 11, 2018, 07:12:45 AM
You seems to be picky when it comes to choosing "meritable" posts, especially the author's rank (According to your Merit History).
Do not hesitate to send your sMerit to Full Members and above, they also need it (actually more than Juniors need it).

Anyways it wont hurt to make another Merit Giveaway Thread as long as you're good at "sniffing" account farmers.

Here's my list:

If you want to find something from the Development & Technical Discussion Thread,
here is the link to my merit history: nc50lc's merit history.
As you can see, I'm sending my sMerit as soon as I acquired 2 Merit, you should, too.
5728  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is the network under attack in some way? on: April 11, 2018, 05:48:11 AM
In blockchain.info average transaction graph, move your mouse pointer away from the edge by a few millimeters until you reach the previous date as the hovered Time & Date, the result would be 176,563 transactions.

The latest date displayed in the graph is 04-10-2018 has not even ended in other Timezones (it's still Tuesday in some parts of the world)
That value must be a quarter to half average of the final result.

Check it again tomorrow and if still displays sub 50,000s, there's really a huge drop in activities by Bitcoin wallet/node users.
5729  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.4.1 NOT syncing. on: April 11, 2018, 05:14:56 AM
Electrum v2.4.1 may be safe from the bug but it's outdated, what's keeping you from upgrading to the latest version?

-update-
Hey, how is it possible that your reply to the thread "Electrum synchronizing too long" has the same exact Title of this thread?
That thread's reply should be RE: Electrum synchronizing too long, right.
5730  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How pool payout to multiple users? on: April 10, 2018, 09:25:33 AM
I am sure that this thread is a continuation of his thread: When new coin mined, if some address receives share of it.
That's why he mentioned "How Pool implement this part?"

What they answered you is "How to send Bitcoin to two or more addresses" because of the incomplete/incomprehensible information you provided in the OP.

Sorry to day this but, I'm noticing a lot of thread started by you here in the D&TD Board which seems like in broken pieces or in continuation of the rest of it.
My advice for you is to read the rest of the Bitcoin Wiki and compile all your related questions in one thread, ask a follow-up reply if you need more information.
You can always bump the thread every 24hrs if you need to display it in the first page as "unread" topic.
5731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Switched to risers for gpu mining ... not working now on: April 10, 2018, 07:27:29 AM
Including the post above ^
What is the Coin/Algorithm you are currently mining?

The problem is, you just provided us limited information and you immediately going for the first few replies.
Please provide us the complete information so your rig's issue might be resolved in one-go.

In continuation to this: (excluding the 1st one which is presumably resolved)
  • Swapping undetected cards to the working Riser slot and insert the working card to the undetected riser.
  • Read claymore's thread and some documentations about it for the proper configuration.
Which of these "Claymore Miner" is the one you're using: list of miners created by Claymore?
Because some are only capable of detecting Nvidia (CUDA) Miners, not together with AMD by default.

Is there a command I need to write in the start.bat file inorder for them to work together or should I just run two different versions of cuda for different coins? Say etherium for the nvidia cards and Zcash for the amd cards.
If you are using: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.6 (Windows/Linux), you can. Just read the whole thread.
5732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal showing weak hands, congratz to our community! on: April 10, 2018, 06:06:14 AM
slow_internet?
This really shows how cheap those materials used to build that shit.
They're selling it high last week because of the fake supply shortage they (Bitmain and Baikal) made.

Great move to Monero, the change in POW will guarantee that those botnets and compromised rigs sneaked with cryptonight miners will still be profitable.
Buy hey, this garbage is still worth it for mining shitcoins with shit developers, who are taking Crytonite ASICS too lightly.
Like E...ehm..Ele..ctr...oneum.
5733  Other / Meta / Re: Disable links on Marketplace [Newbie,Jr. Member] on: April 10, 2018, 05:36:03 AM
As far as I know, Links from a newbie account will be replaced by *Suspicious link removed* text, only juniors can provide a link.
If this will be applied to Junior members, any starting business account will have to wait for 2-months and unnecessarily participate to topics in order to gain (10) merit, just for their initial purpose: to display links to their site.
With this, scammers will not only participate in scams but to spam as well.

Whatever the dark side is, I can agree with this, since the workaround "Copper Membership" is cheaply available to legit ones.
5734  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bug: Editing Description from Context Menu on: April 09, 2018, 11:21:17 AM
Mine, I'm using electrum 3.0.6 and it works fine, but if expanding electrum doesn't work just report the issue here https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues

So that they can take action and release a new version.
I'm able to reproduce the bug using v3.1 on a Windows7 PC. To be precise, I took screenshots of what the OP is saying:

I have the preference: Fiat=>Show History Rates checkbox set.
failed_loading_img
When I then select the menu item "Edit Description" using the context menu in the history tab, it gives me editing the EUR value instead of the actual description.
Return to the Main Screen and Right-Click any previous transaction to open the context menu, then select "Edit Description".
That should make the Default Description of the address or the transaction editable but instead, the USD value is the one that became editable:
failed_loading_img
t.n: I've written texts on the images.

---Edit---
The bug is now resolved.
5735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan Wu (BitMain) - the Monopoly of Crypto Currency World on: April 09, 2018, 07:37:17 AM
This "Shepherd's Game" isn't limited to cryptocurrencies.
Sheep do not complain being herded as long as they "live", because it's the best they can do.

"Any man with a billion dollar ambition backed up by his brilliant mind can make it work, not by himself alone but by using all the available resources he can get."

Just envy him if you feel it, do not despise what he did.
Why he can play this game ???  who can stop him playing again???
  • The First question was covered by my first statement.
  • Perhaps, a competition (Another Huge ASIC Manufacturer) or more.
Remember, this is just the beginning, somewhere in the future there could be hundreds of ASIC Manufacturers selling better varieties than the others'.

Bitcoin wasn't designed to be a $1000 worth asset, but the way we "rank" the price was too easy to manipulate and it can directly affect the whole "mining" economy.
If you can think of a workaround to this, join the development.
5736  Other / Meta / Re: Thanks for the Cake... I Guess on: April 09, 2018, 04:48:11 AM
I'm going to lock this thread for now.

If anyone already got images or a draft regarding this:
That's the default SMF cake image. If someone has a better image (with no copyright issues), I'd use it.
Send me PM to unlock this thread or send that directly to Theymos.
5737  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: When new coin mined, if some address receives share of it on: April 08, 2018, 12:07:57 PM
Different pools, different methods.
Read this article from Bitcoin wiki: Comparison of mining pools

That (block reward mincing) was not a part of the blockchain, also it's not the traditional "mining" method.
For information about that, you can ask a Mining Pool Engineer or a Pool Expert.

Try your luck here: Altcoin Mining >Pools (Warning: it's full of shit)
5738  Other / Meta / Re: Why was my account banneded? on: April 08, 2018, 11:43:28 AM
I took part in the signature company and really copied this post. I admit my guilt. But why immediately I was given a permanent ban without warning. Why not for a week or a month and immediately for good without warning?
Even out of Bitcointalk rules, plagiarism is a serious crime. It's a common "legal" knowledge.
In some cases, you might go to jail when caught copy-pasting articles by some over-the-top serious professionals or corporation.

Luckily, Bitcointalk has been lightly punishing users for doing that actcrime.
Pick one: A Permanent Ban or Something else?

P.S. "Banneded",   Lips sealed
5739  Other / Meta / Thanks for the Cake... I Guess on: April 08, 2018, 11:21:36 AM
I'm positive that everyone's Birthday isn't displayed in the user's profile and it's for "privacy" reasons, right?
But when the time comes, an obvious date of birth icon will surprise you in your profile page.
It's displayed even when the profile was viewed as "Guest".

Like this one in my profile: (Local Date April 08, 2018)
https://i.imgur.com/R94pZT1.jpg

So, thanks for the cake!
I'm not totally bothered by my date of birth shown in public but some more private users might take this as an issue.

Take note: Please do not spam this thread by just saying Happy Birthday or anything insubstantial, TIA.

Quoted but you may need to sign a message with your BTC address to prove that you control that BTC address, you can learn how to sign a message with your BTC address here
The initial verification isn't really "that" important, this thread only requires the user to type (stake) his Bitcoin Address  to be quoted by the next poster as stated in the OP.
What they really need is to know how to Sign a message and which wallets have a user-controlled PrivateKeys.
If not, they must be a total newbie and their staked address will probably be useless when needed, but we can use it "for future reference".
