Point your miner at a Pool like Slush's, Eligius, or BTCGuild.

Don't bother solo mining, the odds are stacked way way against you solving a block by yourself.

Which one of those is more profitable?

Slush's or Eligius maybe more boom or bust, BTCGUILD has probably the most stable pool and steadiest payouts.
5722  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 50-60 gh/s BFL single make offer on: February 21, 2014, 08:35:17 PM
If you put pictures with today's date and your forum sig, I'm willing to up offer to .11BTC to the US with escrow.

Definitely has a very cool look and modular design.  At $250 though, seems a bit pricey just to buy a fancy case.
5724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin wallet for iphone? on: February 21, 2014, 07:58:23 PM
If you're going to be a seller of bitcoins, maybe sign up and use LocalBitcoins through a browser.

Apple hates Bitcoin, bans and removes all Bitcoin apps from their appstore.

Switch to Android, plenty of wallet options there.

Normally I'd agree with you, but the advertisement on your signature is really distracting.

Cringeworthy, even.   Embarrassed
5728  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2014 is NOT the year of bitcoin, sorry on: February 21, 2014, 05:05:17 PM
Bumping for a reality check

Noobs will think bitcoin is slowly dying... but like I said 2014 is NOT the year of bitcoin. Expect a shitty ride for most of the year, if not all the way through 2015. Expect the next explosion closer to 2015

Way to early to tell, it's still only February.

A bit of good news, more mainstream adoption, endorsements from public figureheads is all we need for another jump up.
5729  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Solution to BTC rising diff - Create more SHA256 Alts? on: February 21, 2014, 03:10:06 PM
I think we have more than enough Alt coins.  There are all pretty much gimmick or "meme" type coins or do something specific.

Bitcoin's the Gold, Litecoin's the silver, a few of the others may survive, but if you're in it for some darkhorse coin to claim Bitcoin's throne, good luck with that.
5730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL How do you store your coins? on: February 21, 2014, 02:58:34 PM
Coinbase, LocalBitcoins, Bitcoin-QT, and USB Flash Drive/External Hard Drive

Buy them from Coinbase/Local, then transfer immediately to Bitcoin-QT, then back them up to external.
5731  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: February 21, 2014, 02:35:45 PM
I am no one to talk since I don't usually come to these forums, but most of your posts do not look constructive Smiley. Mostly one-liners.

1. Show me a rule that say's you can't post one -liners.
2. One sentence can't make a constructive post? That's a new one.
3. Probably 3/4 of all the forum posts consist of one sentence.

I'd just like to hear the explanation, because I've posted in the same manner for months and always got the right ammount of BTC

One line sentences are fine as long as they're not just two or three words and are relevant to the discussion.

I checked the last five pages of your posts and they seem ok to me, EvilPanda. Did you ask Stunna why you didn't get the full amount?
I got exactly 0.01 BTC for over 250 posts made. Yes I Pm'd him, no response, waited 24 hours, sent next PM, still nothing, so I took down the signature for now and decided not to enter the campaign again until I at least get Stunna's response.

Bitmixer.io is paying more than that I think and its weekly and automatic.

What is Bitmixer.io's post rate, just out of curiosity?  Any minimum post count?

Just wanted to compare the 2 services payout structure.
5732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Scary future of BitCoins - the Death? on: February 21, 2014, 02:33:29 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto didn't invent Worldcoin, he(she, them) invented Bitcoin.

Does Bitcoin have some flaws and some bumps in the road, sure.  So did the Internet, modern PC, and social networking before it.

The only thing replacing Bitcoin, is a Bitcoin 2.0.
5733  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: February 21, 2014, 02:11:33 PM

There is no reason to make it personal. The issue is when/if BlackArrow is going to deliver, and if not, what they're gonna do about it. Frankly, the level and quality of their communication is harming them, but flaming each other is not going to resolve anything.

well said. damn i've been waiting on this lot delivering, so that I can put my order in - i'm a fearty where it comes to pre-orders.  Undecided

I hear you. I'm getting more hashpower when I get my tax refund. But I ain't tying it up for an indefinite period of time. This basically means Bitmain, used, or possibly LightningAsic as it stands. Used is going for more than new right now, because of this preorder bullshit.

I really wanted it to be AMT, for personal reasons, but it's not looking good. I'll probably get two ants.

How about ASICminers 40nm stuff,I'm just itchin to hear concrete info  Wink
I forgot about ASICminer. They've always been overpriced from my perspective, but they have delivered on time, for the most part, and what they said they would. Friedcat may be greedy, but he's got honor. I honestly haven't paid attention to their latest stuff. That's a mistake I intend to rectify Smiley

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/340830

this lot have some sale offers on.. i've bought from them before, always stable rigs and not too bad for shipping time (within 10 days, my last order)

Is this site legit?

$5500 including shipping for a 300 GH/s miner seems like a major ripoff.

You can get 2 Antminers at 400 GH/s at $1600.
5734  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What else can you do with mining hardware? on: February 21, 2014, 12:44:13 PM
You can't mine SHA-256 coins with GPUs

Wrong.

Care to elaborate?  This isn't 2011 or 2012 anymore.  You can't even mine with those USB blue or red furies or even Antminer U1's anymore due to difficulty and network hashrate.

You can mine with GPUs, you can mine with blue and red furies and you can mine with Antminer U1s, they won't be profitable but you can certainly mine with them

Isn't that the whole point?  If you just want to experiment, go ahead.

I don't think the OP just wants to mine for the hell of it, as most 99.99% of miners.
5735  Bitcoin / Press / [2014-02-20] Ben Lawsky Demonstrates Evolution on Bitcoin Issues in Reddit AMA on: February 20, 2014, 11:42:58 PM
Looks like Ben Lawsky is taking a softer stance with Bitcoin:

http://www.coindesk.com/ben-lawsky-demonstrates-evolution-bitcoin-issues-reddit-ama/

If we can get regulation that makes sense for Bitcoin in NY, skies the limit.

Seems, like Lawsky seems receptive to virtual currencies, as long as the soon to be imposed regulation isn't too stifling to Bitcoin's technology and innovation.

PG and OleOle, do you even have orders with Black Arrow?

If not, doesn't make sense to spam these threads.

^ to help anyone thinking of buying the '2TH' terraminer.

Wow, Cointerra "delivered" but not really...

Overpromised and undelivered big time.  I'm beginning to sense a theme in the Asic pre-order world... Undecided
5738  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-19] The First US Bitcoin ATM Arrives in New Mexico on: February 20, 2014, 08:52:30 PM

They should be called ticket stations, where you exchange your fiat paper for train ticket of Freedom Express  Wink

I like that the sound of that, Freedom Express!   Grin

Now, if we could only kick Gox to Exchange purgatory.   Angry
5739  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: February 20, 2014, 08:45:56 PM
Maybe they added LTC mining to the chips and that's what the software bonus is going to also include.  (I know, fat chance of that.)

I appreciate the updates and the honesty of what is going on.  Please continue to do this.

That's pretty conceivable.  Maybe that's the surprise that BobSag3 was referring to a few days ago.

If they can mine both SHA-256 and decent Scrypt speed without a loss in performance, might be worth the wait.

They answered this question last page, the current production line will not incorporate Scrypt mining.  They are working on a scrypt miner (different project, different engineers) presumably paid by our pre order money...
The surprise they said was software related, but they will not tell us what it is until release.  So....we are back to withholding information.  IMHO releasing as much info as possible is their best bet right now, but they have our money and probably will just disregard that statement.

Understood, hard to keep track with this thread sometimes as it gets derailed by whether Matt Carson takes a dump in Missouri or Colorado or if has a tool shed in Wyoming.  Gets dizzying.

Just want facts, Q&A, not conspiracy theories.
