Most ASICs are loud, I have not seen ASICs for installation in an apartment for a long time.
The problem of noise is well solved by installing soundproof boxes for ASICs. The author wants maximum profit, so buying several soundproof boxes will not be expensive.
One of the main problems with ASIC miners is the huge amount of noise generated during mining which is above 75 to 80 decibels.  Due to this noise, sleep problems, mental problems and in some cases physical problems usually occur at home.  However, due to this noise pollution, family and neighbor relations are seen to be bad.  ASIC miners typically use a 120mm diameter fan that rotates at 6000 RPM speed, creating a lot of noise as the air collides with the blades, which is usually annoying.  In some cases noise pollution can be reduced to a great extent by using high quality silencers, noise reduction boxes.

well L3+ is not that loud.

The main reason is they only pull 600 watts if properly tuned to 450mhs
5722  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Suggest me the best mining rig on my situation on: December 16, 2022, 12:20:49 AM
I have 2 l3+, set with hiveos at 504mh/s they absorb 660w, at the socket they will be 10% more or so.

Fans with ambient temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees c are always between 30 and 50%, rarely more.

yeah that's about right.

and if he backs them down just a bit. say 450mhs and 600 watts he can set fans lower.

5724  Economy / Speculation / Re: How we know btc not going to 100$ ?? on: December 15, 2022, 10:51:15 PM
What guarantees we have btc not going very low like 100$ ??
Can btc go Even like 50$
Becouse everybody knows that Market Will crash hard soon very bearish out look now for btc
If today btc start falling what price is good to buy ?
It can fall to 1000$ or lower why not ? What's stop btc to fall down like 20$-50$ ?

Actually we don't.  We also don't know if the sun will supernova in a few weeks.

We don't know if revelations will start in 10 minutes.

we don't know if Putin starts nuking in an hour.

All of the above are not knowable. We can only guess how likely they are to happen.

BTC going to 100 is really close to impossible. Basically it is more likely for it to drop to 0 than 100.

Get back to me and tell why I say 0 is more likely than 100 for its price.

If you answer that close to correctly I will post back with more great info. (just kidding) the info is not great or maybe it is.

Gave you all I was allowed 49.
Thanks so much--I really appreciate the gesture, but you don't have to give me merits that I didn't earn because of what I posted.  I'll put the sMerits to good use, though.

Relax your mind take a deep breath.
B-b-b-but that'll mean standing up and walking away from my crappy PC!

A) Appreciate your new name I do.
One love, homey.  Thanks for the props, pops.

C) I appreciate the work you do on the forum. I am pretty much just a guy in New Jersey typing on a keyboard, but I do read your post and look at your work.
I feel like the town drunk next to your expertise, and I don't know what work it is you're referring to that I'm doing.  I'm still subscribed to your Youtube channel, though I don't log into anything Googly anymore for sanity reasons.  And hey, I'm a New Englander and you're close enough.  We can be rude and obnoxious to each other, and if I ever travel down the pike to wherever it is your crib is located, I'll drive like a complete asshole.  Not like a Masshole, mind you.  Those drivers are worse than New Yorkers (or at least a close tie).  Nothing personal, DaveF.

Both Dave and I have connections to Long Island.

5728  Economy / Economics / Re: Somebody’s been on a gold-buying bender. It’s not clear who — or why. on: December 15, 2022, 02:59:41 PM
My first guess when I started reading the op was that it's Russia, so it's good that this option is being discussed.  Russia has foreign debt payment issues due to sanctions, it has enough finances to afford tons of gold, and they did something very similar to returning to the gold standard to stabilize their fiat back in spring. So these is an obvious need for gold, and also obvious reasons to buy it secretly, to avoid sanctions.
I must say I'm not pleased with how little the sanctions seem to have impacted Russia, allowing it to comfortably continue spending hundreds of millions of dollars per day of the war for a very long time, and they can probably do it for another year if not more. If they're buying lots of gold, this can help them stabilize even further.

In my opinion, gold is a rather useless tool for circumventing sanctions.

Gold bars are all numbered and registered, and it is very easy to limit their turnover.  At the same time, gold is a very inconvenient means of payment.  With gold, there are a lot of questions about its storage, transportation and authentication.  Gold in the gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank is good, but adequacy, reliability and trust are much more valuable in the financial sector.

Yes, there is a lot of gold in Russia, but it is not clear what to do with it.

Carry across the country to the border with China to exchange for Poco, Redmi and Xiaomi smartphones?

Now Russia has canceled VAT on the sale of gold bars and is trying to sell gold to the population.  But the population of Russia does not really understand what to do with these shiny yellow metal cubes.  In real life, they are absolutely useless!

I leave Russia with a 20 kilo bar of gold about 1.4 million. No way I can get it out of the country.

I leave Russia with 80 btc same 1.4 million. No way does anyone know I have the BTC so easy peasy to flee Russia and have wealth.

snip

Your original assertion was that Bitcoin has decoupled from the stock market.

I was not asserting anything.  I was rebutting Philip's assertion.

.. .

JJG this is sad you sound like a fucking politician

reminds me of this one. by good old Bill Clinton

"it depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is"?

You made the assertion that my assertion was wrong.

Just say you did that and move on.

BTW if you think I am a believer in fiat you are fucking clueless.

I am a realist. I think the filling statement is closer to what I believe

"Fiat has a shit ton of people with guns and will continue to defend itself against BTC"

I also think  "why use guns when you can create shit like STX using a stooge like SBF"

Finally I think "Be like JJG just DCA BTC"

JJG is correct about the following:

 world governments fear BTC.

As to their solutions to solve the problems btc creates, they are working on it.

Lets hope they do as well as they did in keeping the deficit in check.

Just got the Plaid email from coinbase. Not acceptable. Who else are we liking to be able to sell BTC through?

the plaid email confuses me. I am not sure why I need do it.

coinbase has all my kyc.

my drivers license

my social security

my home address

my bank

my PayPal

I am completely trackable on my coinbase account so why is it I need to do plaid?

my bank
my PayPal

are all fully kyc so what more do they want?

in plaid you give them your bank account login and password...this is crazy and I am not sure if it is even legal (it shouldn't be).
I also got Coinbase email.
Unfortunately, Kraken doesn't do ACH in NY and Texas, otherwise, I would say: Kraken (albeit some said that they also use plaid for something).
One possible solution: Chase, PNC and Capital One don't use plaid.
I intent on waiting until Jan 9 reset, then see if i can choose not to use plaid with the current bank account.
If not, I will look at other options.
BTW, someone mentioned that if you activate 2FA on the bank account, plaid cannot work, so I surmise that it would be logical to provide an alternative venue.

Yeah can't give my password to them. Well this should be fun.
5734  Other / Meta / Re: *END* Post history review offer on: December 15, 2022, 02:41:54 AM
Sad to say this, but given the fact that Theymos kept silent when I requested more sMerits I'm no longer going to be doing post history reviews on request.  I have a number of members who've been PMing me from months back, and those are the only folks I'm going to continue reviewing posts for.  So if you're not getting a bunch of merits from me in the near future, you didn't make the cut (through no fault of your own).

I've simply had too many requests and too few sMerits.  I seriously considered quitting the merit source position as a FUCK YOU to Theymos, but that would just be an emotional reaction which ultimately wouldn't help the forum.  But I'd still like to state it, and I think I just did.

I'll leave this thread open for a few hours if anyone wants to comment, but I'm not going to be answering questions about whether individual members are going to still have their posts reviewed, because as of right now I have to go back and check all my PMs.

Gave you all I was allowed 49.

Relax your mind take a deep breath.

1000kwh in a month they are 1500w per hour of consumption, 1,5x24x30 approximately 1000, on that power there are some asic but a little dated, in a month you would not return to any investment.

I disagree the L3+ burns 750 watts

2 of them do 1500 watts.

2 of them earn about 3 usd a day

90 usd a month

they merge mine ltc and doge

also a s17 pro set on low will do 1200 watts which is 1.2 x 24 x 30 = 864 kwatts

it will do 40th which is 40 x .063 = 2.52 usd a day or $75.20 usd a month

the key is what does he pay for his power
If I understand the author's post correctly, then 1500w per hour is free. 2 asics for litecoin will give about 100 dollars of profit per month, but he will have to deal with noise. This is not such a large amount of profit now, but if you do not sell coins, then perhaps there will be more profit.

L3+ are not crazy loud.

s19 are crazy loud
L7 are crazy loud.
