5721  Other / Archival / Re: The impact of Musk & Saylor's Tweets on Prices & Investor Sentiment on: August 05, 2021, 03:19:00 AM
Musk isn't really for the environment when he said that he'd reconsider Tesla payments if he gets the data about miners going green. It's just another day in the office to manipulate the market in his own silly ways.

Not impossible, but I'd say quite farfetched. It's more of him just LARPing on social media as to not get the backlash of him running an EV company that's supposed to have a positive impact on the environment, and at the same time accept payments with an asset that uses a good amount of energy. It's all a show.
5722  Other / Meta / Re: Do you disable notifications (in a topic) after a certain period of time? on: August 04, 2021, 05:02:18 PM

And yea, my "forum browser" always has like 15 tabs open.  Lips sealed

Man of culture I see. That's why getting a second/ third monitor is a bread and butter to most of us :p

Since I started becoming active on multiple forums again, a second monitor has been totally necessary. Working on a single screen has simply been a huge huge struggle that I'd might as well call it a disability.

Thankfully, since all I did since the pandemic was to sit in front of my computer and work anyway, I finally convinced myself to invest in a 34" monitor!

I totally dread the day that I'd finally need a 3rd screen.
5723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Increasing acceptance level - Cryptocurrency on: August 04, 2021, 04:52:23 PM
Is this your photo? If so, mind telling us how they accept cryptocurrencies? I assume they probably use a lightning wallet for instantaneous bitcoin transactions, but what about the likes of ETH?
5724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW TO BUY BITCOIN AND ALTCOINS on: August 04, 2021, 04:34:22 PM
Not to make you feel bad or something, but if you're going to create a guide/tutorial, probably create one on a topic that hasn't been written before. Or if you're going to create a tutorial on a topic that has like a bajillion articles already, at least attempt to beat those existing articles in terms of quality and information. This one seems to be just written in under 10 minutes.

I hope this helps someone
Sorry to say but it really won't.
5725  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase New FUD on: August 04, 2021, 04:16:53 PM
Fud is now become a common topic in crypto world. Everyday comes a new fud.

Not sure about you, but the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency space has always been filled with FUD ever since I became interested in this industry(2016). As for this one, most likely a nothing burger as it seems to be a target towards Coinbase(the company) rather than Bitcoin. It's not like U.S. people are not going to have any exchange alternative if it's the case that Coinbase shuts down(which is very unlikely in itself).
5726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you rather buy for the long term right now...BTC or ETH? on: August 04, 2021, 03:56:48 PM
Ethereum is preferred over bitcoin. The price of bitcoin have gone high, and I find the price of ethereum to be affordable to buy it as a whole.
Wait. Are you saying that you think Ethereum is more "affordable" because it's unit price is lower? That buying one "whole" Ethereum is cheaper?

Also from various predictions ethereum is said to touch atleast $17800 within the next five years time.
Oh yea, "price predictions" surely ends well most of the time.
5727  Other / Meta / Re: Do you disable notifications (in a topic) after a certain period of time? on: August 04, 2021, 03:52:38 PM
I don't really bother with the watch list or any notification services being circulated about.

Ditto. I personally use a separate browser for my forum thingys, and I just leave the tabs open for those topics that I'm really interested in, or those whereas I'm expecting a quote reply to my response. I just close certain tabs if I lose interest with the topic or when it already becomes spammed with "those" kinds of replies.

And yea, my "forum browser" always has like 15 tabs open.  Lips sealed
5728  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BRAND NEW on: August 04, 2021, 03:50:30 PM
Yea.. just a heads up: if you're here for the campaigns even if you're just starting out with bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, then you're going to have a bad time.
5729  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why buy bitcoins and not altcoins? on: August 04, 2021, 09:59:58 AM
I really don't understand what you're trying to say in this part 👇 so I'm just going to answer your topic title.

But is there a kind of data to support this? Please don’t just experience it----every time Bitcoin falls, there will be a new ATH to explain.

So, why bitcoin and not alts? Simply because bitcoin is the "safest" asset to invest in in the cryptocurrency space, simply because not everyone has the knowledge and patience to properly pick out which altcoins could perform really well in the short/mid/long term. All a lot of people do is just check out which coins/tokens gets shilled out on Reddit and social media and invest in that coin/token despite having no idea on how the project works. Ending up with them being burned in the end.

Just check out the altcoin/bitcoin trading pairs on most coins. Most of them(like a huge majority) has lost a lot of value against bitcoin in the long term.
5730  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce Bitcoin in one sentence on: August 04, 2021, 05:28:02 AM
Neither.

Bitcoin is the king,
Assuming they have no idea about the cryptocurrency space in general, Bitcoin being "king" is meaningless.

Bitcoin is electronically protected or encrypted,
Not everyone knows what "encrypted" is.

Bitcoin may be a currency of the future.
Not super bad, but not a fan. Probably good enough if you can explain to them why.

With bitcoin, you have the future.
Sounds scammy.

If you don't buy it now, it will be the most regretful thing in 10 years.
Sounds scammy.

Maybe focus on explaining the things that Bitcoin fixes instead, rather than specifically pitching an investment like a salesman.
5731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin videos on Youtube....and a suggestion for our possible BCT channel. on: August 04, 2021, 03:57:14 AM
But more than faked shocked faces, perhaps the worst thumbnail when looking for a Bitcoin video is that which shows money. When I search for Bitcoin on YouTube, the third video that would come out has this thumbnail.

What's worse with that thumbnail is that it seems to be giving the message that "you can easily earn 13,000 PHP(260 USD) just by doing bitcoin trading", which as we know, is really really misleading simply due to the fact that trading is far more complicated than YouTubers make us think.
5732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin videos on Youtube....and a suggestion for our possible BCT channel. on: August 04, 2021, 03:03:53 AM
The holding chin is actually decent compared to those screaming thumbnails like what that youtuber from D.I.Y Investing channel does. Anyway, I get the point. I actually prefer they simply use charts or other graphics that shows none of their faces.

Yea.. I really don't want to set the bar too low, but there are definitely FAR more worse(and far more annoying) thumbnails than the hold-the-chin thingy.

5733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you rather buy for the long term right now...BTC or ETH? on: August 04, 2021, 02:50:16 AM
It's just going to really depend on your risk appetite. ETH has higher potential price increase due to the albeit low-key "dangerous" development, whereas BTC simply has the best risk:reward ratio as an investment.

Personally, why not both? You really don't need to stick to one asset. But if you'd put a gun to my head and make me choose one, I'd go with BTC.
5734  Other / Meta / Re: Viable Projects? on: August 04, 2021, 02:42:04 AM
Not impossible, just difficult due to the huge numbers of trash being promoted in those sections. Assuming a certain project is actually good and legit, they just have to get the message across in a clear manner, and chances are that it will gain organic traction.

But then again, we're talking about good and legit projects here. Whereas a huge majority are simply just crap.
5735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin videos on Youtube....and a suggestion for our possible BCT channel. on: August 04, 2021, 02:04:43 AM
Mixed feelings with the clickbait thumbnails. Yes, they're doing those styles of thumbnails simply because it's what gets them clicks, but there are some that have those kinds of thumbnails that has actually decent videos that doesn't contain people that scream "moon" at you. Perfect example is the 3rd example(Coin Bureau) as I think he actually produces decent videos(outside the potentially sponsored coin/token vids).

Even Andreas himself has those kinds of thumbnails from time to time, despite his videos not sucking.

With that said, has there been a discussion concerning Bitcointalk creating an official YouTube channel?
5736  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: FTX exchange offering bitcoin in their partnership with the MLB on: August 03, 2021, 04:06:10 PM
They still have very large withdrawal limits for unverified accounts, so it is a KYC-free exchange.

The problem with those exchanges is that in the long run they will start accepting fiat as payment method, so they will soonner or later be forced to reduce limits and impose KYC to their clients.

Fiat pairs in exchanges are very important, and they get much more clients and money inflow (and fees) when they support fiat... So, let's enjoy FTX withdrawal limits while we can.

KuCoin also have nice limits (5 BTC every 24hours).

@KuCoinModerator

KYC is not mandatory here on KuCoin there will be no problem, even if you're not verified you will still be able to transact on the platform. However, there'll be a withdrawal limit of 5 BTC per 24 hours for unverified accounts. Thanks!

https://twitter.com/kucoinmoderator/status/1387342560130068489#:~:text=to%20%40updatetime7%20%40kucoincom-,KYC%20is%20not%20mandatory%20here%20on%20KuCoin%20there%20will%20be,24%20hours%20for%20unverified%20accounts.

Yea Binance is still on the process of decreasing their no-KYC withdrawal limits to around $2000 per day(same withdrawal fees as FTX). By then, I really don't see any reason to use Binance because FTX has better withdrawal fees and exchange fees. Seems to be a lot less targeted by governments as well.

As for KuCoin, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd limit withdrawals any time soon as well.
5737  Other / Meta / Re: Check out RainbowKun's article to see if forums really need depth knowledge. on: August 03, 2021, 09:26:27 AM
Hi, mk4, thank you for your suggestions and recommendations. I will also look for some Robert Breedlove's writings and YouTube interviews. I believe these works will give me a lot of help. These articles of mine are indeed very long, and many friends have given similar suggestions. I now try to shorten the content as much as possible in the writing process. But in many cases, it is really difficult to reduce. Many of these articles of mine belong to philosophical thinking. Not only do I have to give a conclusion, but I also have to write the process of reaching this conclusion. This causes a lot of text to appear verbose. They will certainly not be liked by most people. However, I think it is still necessary. They may be suitable for some friends who like to think deeply. With my writing level, I can easily write many short works that are popular with most people in the forum, and cater to most people's preferences. However, this is not what I want. I hope to organize my fragmented thinking into systematic knowledge. There is an opportunity to publish these articles into books in the future. As part of the evangelism for Bitcoin. I believe that in the next five to ten years, as the global consensus on Bitcoin continues to strengthen, more and more people will realize the value of my articles.

Don't force to shorten your threads if not possible because there are simply some topics that is going to be inevitably lengthy. But yea, if you want to bring your writing to the next level, you have to make your content a bit more compact. You wouldn't want your readers to get uninterested at the get-go. Good luck!
5738  Other / Meta / Re: NFT Topic? on: August 03, 2021, 05:40:37 AM
A new ethereum sub board would be nice honestly (with nft being sub section). I have some post ideas but since there is no ethereum sub, i would have to post it in altcoin discussion. Very few bother to read there lol

I assume you'd might end up with the same results even if we had an Ethereum-specific board. It's simply the fact that most people here are just Bitcoiners. If you really want to talk about Ethereum, you're probably better off by posting in Reddit r/Ethereum.
5739  Economy / Economics / Re: Miami will launch its own cryptocurrency and reward users with bitcoin on: August 03, 2021, 05:28:32 AM
Looks interesting. Can you direct me to the platform where you listen to, Balaji Srinivasan?

Both on YouTube and Spotify. Just do searches on "tokenized states" or something similar, or just look for the ones concerning states in general. Can't link you a specific one because I've listened to a lot of his podcast episodes already.
5740  Other / Meta / Re: Check out RainbowKun's article to see if forums really need depth knowledge. on: August 03, 2021, 03:53:29 AM
rainbowkun has atleast shown that he has put some thought into his articles before writing it. but its more philosophical rather than matter of fact.

*snip*

This. I was reading some of his posts, and his writings are those kind of threads that you'd need to stop after a few sentences to get a good grasp of the message (not necessarily a good or a bad thing). Couple that with the fact that the topics are decently lengthy, I could get why most of the readers aren't responding to his threads. Most people simply don't have the patience, and instead prefer responding to those really bland and redundant threads.

To Mr. RainbowKun, if you haven't yet, I suggest you take a good look at Robert Breedlove's writings and YouTube interviews. I could almost guarantee that you're going to be interested.
