I think its a good sign that you are so active here now Sam. Communication is key.

Did you notice that the hashing is back to 0.6Th from previously 3TH?
5742  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: October 17, 2013, 05:11:12 PM
Hello everybody,
today I got my Bitburner. But it seems that it does not work. I connected it with the power supply, but nothing happens. The fan does not move and the leds do not flash. What can I do? Is it corrupted?

Have you connected pin4 (green) of your ATX PSU to ground so the PSU will actually power itself on?

Yes, I did. It really doesn't work. I hope someone has another idea, and if not I hope burnin will change the miner.

Try one of the other power supply options burnin built into. In theory you only need 12V (or was it 9V) power supply from a source to test it.
5743  Local / Biete / Re: [Gruppenkauf] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 bestellt (geschlossen) on: October 17, 2013, 04:43:00 PM

Probier mal alternative Stromquellen. Ich tippe einfach mal darauf dass das PSU noch keinen Strom liefert. Die bitburner werden alle vom assembler getestet bevor sie an burnin gehen.

Is there a market for groupcoins, i0coins and so on at ripple?
5745  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: October 16, 2013, 11:26:36 PM
Seems to help the hashrate a bit (+1 Ghash for 2 Bitburners). What is strange is that when I set the voltage to 1334, it shows in cgminer as ~1360 (although at startup is says that it has set it to 1334). So now I use 1304 and it shows up as 1333.

1334 at 450mhz is the optimum for me. It doesnt matter what cgminer shows. 1334 is the target set and depending on that setting the best hashrate was reached. So in fact it might be 1355mV or so but the setting has to be 1334.
5746  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: October 16, 2013, 10:59:21 AM
@BitCsByBit
Someone mentioned that these are btc-hotwallet addresses. So i wonder how sure it is that labcoin owns these bitcoins or if it might be a differen btc-user.

I might have not been clear, maybe my point was lost.  I'll give it another try:
Assuming that there is a chip, or, at least, a maskset:

If mining with Labcoin's chips is profitable, and these chips could be assembled into miners rapidly (the whole thing scales easily), why do you think the other ASIC manufacturers, who have both proven & more efficient masksets, are not doing the same?  Other than having proven design, provably more efficient, why can't KNC order another run at their foundry, outsource boards & assembly, and just rake in the coin?  Concern for their customers?  Scruples?  Love of small-time miners?

Im not sure too. And i think that the other companies will bring hashpower online for sure. But labcoin, if its legit, and the newest just dice info doesnt really look like it for me, could bring hashpower online too. Its a fight between big companies. And since labcoin theoretically has an advantage with the price, at least against endusers, i think it could get a part in the networks hashrate. Of course the other companies will built too.

What im not so sure anymore is... if the many companies that own an asic design... will succeed. Even when they have a own design... at one point the companies will fight against each other. And i dont know how this will end.
5747  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: October 16, 2013, 10:50:05 AM
tl;dr Most of the IPO funds ended up at Just-Dice. "Sam" is either a big gambler, or he is trying to launder the money!

Oh common BitCsByBit, dont be so mean. You give them false hope! Now they will think labcoin may win big on justdice and pay out 2x the IPO in dividends!

If it were exclusively between the two i would lean toward the latter. Him trying to wash the BTC so he can cover the trail in the blockchain, and get the coins to other addresses.

Well, the evidence is there, and it is available for anyone to check.

I'll post the link here as it ended up on the bottom of the page:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=263445.msg3347620#msg3347620

Edited.

Its a sure bet... i mean who knows better than Sam what will happen with Labcoin? He can even make bets true.
But this is not ok any way i look at it.
5748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: sha256 Best mining options? on: October 15, 2013, 09:54:41 PM
Hello,

i see pools that chose automatically the best coins, but only for scrypt coins. Then there is cryptoswitcher and so on. But is it worth it at all for Asics? I see zetacoin appearing in coinchoose and in 24 hours the advantage it had against bitcoins is eaten up. So are there ways to earn more with sha256 mining than bitcoins + merged mining?

It only looks like its not worth to spend time on it since all coins better than bitcoin are beaten down fast, so that bitcoin + merge mining seems the most stable now. Am i wrong?

Thanks!
Sebastian

I just added an ASIC multiport on Multipool.us.

Cool... unfortunately too late for me but im sure you will get a lot users when this works and is known more. I see many that dont want the hassle to use cryptochanger and similar things. So your offer is ideal. You might post in such threads and ask them to test it... Smiley

Where are these threads?

Thats the threads that come to mind for me:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=146675.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152515.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=172121.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=248173.0

Its all about finding the most profitable coin or software that automatically choses the best coin. I would have taken an offer for sure that allows me to automatically mine the best coin without setting anything up except a pool login.

Well I don't really want to spam my pool in threads that are about software designed to do the same thing.  Coinchoose already links to us, maybe I should change my sig to mention the ASIC port though.

Changing sig is a good idea. In the list of coins threads it wouldnt be spam. In the software threads it is probably. Though i think 2 posts wont lead to an angry mob. You can simply offer to try your pool and test its new feature. Maybe call it betatest where you want to be informed about wrong happenings and everyone understands your correct intention... Smiley I mean in those threads are the pros that can tell you when something doesnt work right...
5749  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 15, 2013, 09:50:15 PM
AM should just buy up some equity in cointerra since they are open to selling off equity. owning like 5%-10% may be a good investment for long term.

Why should he buy for enduserprices? That negates the advantage one has with a own asic design and the possibility to create miners at cost. If it would make sense to buy at enduserprices i would buy miners myself. But i dont for a reason.
5750  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: October 15, 2013, 09:48:34 PM
Sad, very sad. "investors" still don't get that this is nothing compared to what they have paid (and what has been promised), and that no, they won't get a return on their investment. Any miserable news will let the scam continue to go for a little while longer. Those 2 TH weren't any good a month ago, what do you expect now?

Please, stop taking it in the butt.

Also, +40% difficulty tomorrow.

Even though im not convinced of labcoin... if the 2TH are really done with their own asic chips than your argument isnt valid anymore. Because that would mean they can bring out cheap hashpower at cost, you cant compare it to enduser miner-prices. When they bring out the first 100TH its not a problem to bring out more later. And it will not cost anything near the prices enduser have to pay. You have to make a difference between normal mining companies and mining companies that own their own asic design.
Lets see if labcoin really can bring out 100TH. I guess then im convinced its their own hardware.

What you're forgetting is that KNC, Bitfury, Asicminer, BFL, etc., etc. are also mining with their own gear (or will, if mining with shovels becomes more profitable then selling them).  With real foundrys.  Without sneaking into uni labs.  With established production & multiple adults in charge -- not a mysterious Sam Noi who may or may not be Max Headroom's cousin.  Talk about a non-starter, huh?

*This is a hypothetical only, i'm in no way suggesting Labcoin has made any chips -- 99% chance "they" do not.

Right... i dont trust this yet. But if the person behind sam really has the asic design then he can for sure order big quantities at foundries too, can create miners at cost and hash with better conditions than any enduser ever can.
I think it only needs one person to run such business. You can outsource everything. Of course it didnt look like Sam can handle this really. Lets see if he can surprise... i really would welcome it.

lets not get too cocky guys. maybe when he finally hits 10TH we can start to smile a little

Even then i wont be happy since that still can be faked. He had enough bitcoins to buy a big chunk of knc jupiter that he now could assemble. The time when i will be happy will be when i believe that the Hashrate cant be faked anymore.

Again this is bad logic. Why would he do this now, when he could have done this months ago to fake it.

Dont get me wrong. I want labcoin to succeed since im a not small "bagholder". I couldnt sell it without realizing a huge loss so i rather let it invested to gamble. Of course i want it to succeed.

Im simply not so sure anymore. A theory might be that Sam bought 6 knc jupiter for 300btc only. I know that knc delivered many miners in the last days since i did a not small amount of escrows for those miners. So even though they could have run already... they now have some more miners and they have a good amount of shares left. Getting on cryptoxchange and selling all those shares for a reasonable shareprice "might" be the last part of a scam.

So no, im not convinced yet. It still can be faked.

And yes, i want my shares to be worth much. But im not convinced fully yet.

Again why do this now once you destroyed your share price? They could of bought other hashing equipment to get 2TH, Avalons, BFLS, ASIC blades, much earlier and got the share price much higher.

Again non of this makes any sense. What also doesn't make sense is selling 3 million shares for an extra 100K when they already have 700K.

Do you honestly think all this extra effort is worth an extra 100K?

No, i dont think its the best way to earn more bitcoins. But it might be a way to keep the shareholders in a somewhat happy state for a while, giving a slight hope. Buying time in the meanwhile.
Again... ill be happy if its real but im not relieved yet. You probably remember that i defended labcoin till really late but howards emails really were not able to give me confidence in labcoin. Until this trust is back a bit more has to happen as 6 knc jupiter's hashpower.

5760  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 15, 2013, 02:48:29 PM
I think it should be simply a price that maximizes profit. Selling more for a lower price or selling less for a higher price. Something in between. Asicminer cant change the buyers behaviour. If they dont buy here they buy elsewhere. And it doesnt matter how much preorders are floating around. Thats something the buyers seems not to consider.

To maximize profit is to set the price (at least) as high as possible for the product to still be selling in whatever volume is being produced.  I'm a genius.

Thats correct for the moment. The price wont drop lower than the potential income from self mining. The demand ist simply too high. I sold my bitburner through a backward auction. And i think that might be a good way here too. Dropping the price per miner a bit for each hour. So you can ensure the miners are sold and you most probably get the best price you can get. Asicminer can ship instantly too. So i think thats a good way to get the best profit.
