If the machine is old, go for LXDE, you can have the Gnome stuff there also, but it will improve the performance a lot.

What exactly do you wanna do?

This machine is running an Intel Quad Core Q9300 @ 2.5GHz with 8Gb of ram and a Radeon 4350 video card on an Intel DG45ID Motherboard
and currently running Kwheezy. Like I said in the OP I would like this build to be the main brain for my media center and torrent trackers. eventually I would like to set up FTP so that I could grab media from outside the sever. But for now Id like to keep it simple.

As far as documentation for linux goes its hard to beat the Arch wiki - https://wiki.archlinux.org/

To be honest though, if you are new to linux, Debian is maybe not the best way to go.

I chose it because it seems to be very stable and have tuns of support. Could you give me a suggestion if I where to go another direction?
Thanks for the help guys!

Yap, good enough.

Managing torrents, try deluge or vuze, for having the files available there a quite a few options, the easiest one SSH, you can try winscp for coping on windows, don't know how to mount on windows, but if on linux you can mount easily with sshfs.

You also have samba, http, ftp...

Ok, 4 responses and about 90 views for a topic with the word "channeling" in it. Not so bad Smiley

For those who were wondering what the "right" answer is... well I cannot tell you how I know it (besides the fact that the information passed a few of my consistency checks), but it is legit. I wouldn't have posted it otherwise.

James Randi did a great job on this channeling bullshit in 1988, all these years later still people believing...

I'm going to try to call Oppo tomorrow, I don't think my emails will be seen. Oppo should know their 'international director of marketing' in HK is running a million dollar illegal security.

Tatti's name is listed all over this company, so they are responsible, or know who is.

I lost a good amount on this I'll do it my way, you guys can wait and eat up their lies, rationalize their failed promises, and figure out who's on the 'board'. Good luck with that.

And this is going to bring your money back how?
5766  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: October 01, 2013, 11:57:01 PM
That's the point, you don't know if they 'deserve' anything.  You have some theories from some anonymous posters on an internet board.  Not exactly the stuff of hard evidence.

Harassing people based on that is wrong.

You people seem like an angry, pitch-fork wielding mob. There's no direct evidence that the Tattis are still involved, and in fact there's no direct evidence that it's a scam at this point - just a lack of evidence that it isn't. Harassing people, or calling the police or employers or whatever is kind of ridiculous at this point. It's not going to make your money suddenly reappear.

Just be patient and wait for actual evidence, one way or another.

Haahh, sanity, so rare around here...

How did you got that information?

Simple, he made it up. His IP was 31.7.62.91 - and he wasn't using the web interface, so there wouldn't be any reason for browser information to show up.  The IP was swiss, btw.

Yes, my thoughts also.

Another troll to ignore...

Samuele Noi.

Consider that about 3 people having a phone number in Italy have surname "Noi" (http://www.paginebianche.it/persone?qs=noi&dv=).
Pretty uncommon, isn't it?

That name sounds just plain fake.

No one uses land line nowadays, and it's only one per house, only one name is listed.

That is not evidence.

Finland/Austria problems: hmm, weird! I'll look into it.

Finland same thing as before, rings doesn't answer, Austria hangs up in less than 10 minutes, this happens a lot, Latvia was working well now rings doesn't answer.

don't know about latvia i've switched to austria since finland issue Sad, no such problem so far. it seems to happen only with finland.

Also the switch of usa calls to finland station with finland rates would be a nice idea Smiley.

Sometimes I have to call Latvia because Austria hangs up after a few minutes.
