5761  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: February 19, 2014, 11:51:14 PM
That 8000 post mark indeed does seem improbable for even the most committed poster.

I'd be happy just to get a few millibits just for posting normally!   Grin

At least disguise your scam with some pictures or videos.   Tongue

A link, website, 2nd user vouch for you, something!!!

Scammers don't even try anymore...
5763  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2014 is NOT the year of bitcoin, sorry on: February 19, 2014, 11:41:44 PM
Isn't there still 10 more months in 2014?

Rough start, but it's not how you start but how you finish.

Remember 2013 on January 1st was $13.  Thirteen Bucks!

Just seeing BTC bounce around this $600-$800 range for several months should be grounds for optimism.

And NO, I'm not counting MtGox prices.   Tongue
5764  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: February 19, 2014, 11:34:18 PM
This technically is NOT the highest paid signature? There is another sig campaign that is running with the exact same price as this.

Which sig campaign is the highest paid signature?  Didn't see any others offering more than PrimeDice's 2.4 BTC/Month?
5765  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase says my $.28 BTC buy is high risk.. on: February 19, 2014, 11:28:30 PM
Do they have a minimum buying amount I sure I read that somewhere.

Ten cents USD:

http://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1404398-what-is-the-minimum-amount-of-bitcoin-that-i-can-purchase-

Looks like OP's bank rejected the transaction somehow.

I personally had zero issues with Coinbase, and personally think it's the easiest way to acquire larger amounts of Bitcoins.

LocalBitcoins is a mixed bag for my experience.  I've had to message the seller, he'd get back to me in like 5 hours, I'd cancel the trade, then he'd text me back it's on again, then we'd have to meet in a public area 2 hours later, then he made me wait in the building lobby for another 1 hour while he transferred the purchased amount of BTC from his cold wallet to his LocalBitcoins wallet, then we finally met and made the trade.

For me, Coinbase is a better and easier experience than LocalBitcoins.  If you can find a reliable seller on Local, for sure stick with that person.
5766  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase says my $.28 BTC buy is high risk.. on: February 19, 2014, 11:05:10 PM
Why would you only buy 28 cents worth of Bitcoin?  I've used both Coinbase and LocalBitcoins and always purchased in the $100s.

I mean not trying to put the OP down, but what is the point really?  Fees on Coinbase is only like 1%, if you can't afford that then maybe don't invest in Bitcoins.  LocalBitcoins you'll be hard pressed to find a seller at a decent price, but if you do, make sure they have a good trust and multiple transaction rating.
5767  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-19] The First US Bitcoin ATM Arrives in New Mexico on: February 19, 2014, 10:53:46 PM
What we need here is something that can take your bitcoins and give you fiat, without having to go through the hassles of dealing with another person through localbitcoins etc. or through an exchange which are suspect lately.

Believe the LocalBitcoins ATM will handle 2 way conversion:

Currently, looks like Lamassu Bitcoin ATM can only handle Fiat to BTC conversion.
5768  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide on: February 19, 2014, 09:49:56 PM
Haha just noticed the Z- for BFL and E for VMC.

Keep up the good work Dogie!   Cheesy
5769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bits and Tits! on: February 19, 2014, 09:39:48 PM
Wow, came for the Bits and left pleasantly surprised by the Tits!   Shocked

Anyhoo, Bitcoins and millibits will probably be the most used units pertaining to btc.
5770  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-19] The First US Bitcoin ATM Arrives in New Mexico on: February 19, 2014, 09:34:57 PM
I think ATM isn't the best word, maybe Bitcoin Kiosks or Bitcoin exchange machine.

Either way these Bitcoin machines have finally touched down in the States, and can only be a positive thing to bring it into the mainstream.
5771  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where do you sell your coins? on: February 19, 2014, 09:22:39 PM
For me personally, Coinbase.  Great if you're in the US, and have a bank account and a credit card(Visa).

If you can spare 3-4 days, the coins to dollars will arrive in your bank account at the Bitstamp price(almost identical) you sold at.

Isn't that what the Press thread for?

No need for another news thread, just post in there.
5774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The upside on: February 19, 2014, 06:14:52 PM
Sure doesn't look like it Igorr:

MtGox

BitStamp

BTC-E

5775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The upside on: February 19, 2014, 06:08:12 PM
Why do you always post MtGox charts, you don't like Bitstamp or BTC-E ?   Wink
5776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow. Stanford University publishes excelent description of the bitcoin network on: February 19, 2014, 05:48:28 PM
Very good read and great article to link to for people new to Bitcoin.  I like how they break each concept down, and make easy to understand analogies to PayPal for instance.
5777  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [HIGHEST PAYING SIG ADVERTISING] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: February 19, 2014, 05:39:05 PM
That'd be a pretty impressive feat, 8000 posts in a month!   Shocked

Without spamming every thread, doesn't seem attainable.   Tongue
5778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The upside on: February 19, 2014, 05:22:23 PM
Not sure, I'm not a fortune teller or Nostradamus.  It'd probably be a good shorting opportunity for you though, right?   Cheesy
5779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The upside on: February 19, 2014, 05:17:47 PM
It's only a small percentile that's spreading FUD and doom and gloom articles, mostly newbies.

I think most of the community is in it for the long haul.

To me Bitcoin is the next technological breakthrough of the Internet era.

First the Internet was created, then soon after the PC, soon after networking and broadband matured, soon after operating systems and applications matured, soon after social networking exploded.

It seems like the next technological innovation in line to experience the "Network Effect".  To me at least.

Why wouldn't I HODL?   Grin
5780  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-19] The First US Bitcoin ATM Arrives in New Mexico on: February 19, 2014, 04:58:39 PM
That's not an ATM, it's a vendor machine.

On a real ATM you are supposed to also GET money, not just put them in.

Not in a traditional sense, but today's ATM or Automated Teller Machine you're able to pay bills, buy stamps, buy movie tickets, purchase gold, etc.

ATM aren't just money or fiat dispensers anymore, they're more multifunction.
