thank you buddy for yet another day of sideways action.

we have a double day this coming week.

cpi on dec 13th

fed rate adjustment on dec 14th

very stable leading to these numbers.

core of 6.2
cpi of 6.9

fed rate up 0.50

Cleveland Fed says (predicts);
core 6.3
CPI 7.5 (wow!)

last time they were off by 0.4, so there is that.

food is fucking nuts.

five guys:
 a hamburger
fries
 a soda

$20.00

fucking nuts.

take you wife and two kids $80

ugh.

Now I can go to a super market.
get 12 ⅓ pound burgers
a package of rolls
peppers
onions
potatoes
peanuts
cheddar cheese.
ice tea.
lettuce
tomato

serve 12 people  a better meal for maybe 50 bucks. buy some btc with leftover 30 usd.

of course I have to cook it serve it and clean it.

To be fair Five Guys has always been expensive, here in the UK at least.

A double cheeseburger, drink and medium fries is about £17 here. I find the fries quite boring personally. Whoever I'm with can have them.

If you're buying for several people it does start to get a bit ridiculous.
Quite a step up from the £5-6 McDonalds meal deals.

BUT Five guys better burger and more filling, more calories and usually the meals keep their heat longer due to better packaging.

Yeah five guys is one of the better fast food joints in the USA,but prices have gone nuts. I usually get the burger with a few toppings onions tomatoes mushrooms. Nothing else

AND IT RUNS 12 BUCKS they serve salted peanuts in the shell while you wait for it. I eat a handful of them and bring the burger out to the car to eat with my own filtered water.

5785  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Share Filtering on: December 10, 2022, 10:20:06 PM
Thanks for the reply! I was thinking about it being an issue about how blocks are solved, but in reality the shares are controlled by the pool, so obviously the solution is much simpler. In any case this was very helpful, since there is not to much information about the technical details of mining around.

There actually is a fair amount, but you really have to dig for it. Much like the post I referenced things are buried in the middle of a post about something else. Or a comment 4 pages in holds a lot of information that you would not find unless you happen to stumble upon it.

I think a lot of that comes back to at least now it's buy miner, plug in miner, point at pool.
Back in the early days there tended to be a lot more you had to sit there and figure out so when someone asked a question like you did I would not have had to sit there trying to remember where I saw that post with the info. There were so many you could find it in 20 seconds.

The biggest issues today is probably the other way in the fact that pools can steal blocks. Unless you are monitoring you miners to see if they found a block and comparing it to what the pool says. Assuming they even have something that shows who founds a block then on a PPLNS pool you might never know that your miner found a block but the pool had sent you another address that instead of going to the public address of the pool and the miners went into the operators pocket. You just have to trust the operators.

Or mine at a pps+ pool where you know what they will pay in advance.

I love this miner. I just purchased 5 of them off ebay for 100 dollars each.

For a little Historical art project. <3

Photos when you get them.

So France 🇫🇷 and Morocco 🇲🇦
Argentina 🇦🇷 and Croatia 🇭🇷

Has an Arab country ever done as well as Morocco?

I know Morocco 🇲🇦 uses Arabic not sure if any other ever did this well.

Morocco is the first African team to play semi finals. The country is in Africa yet they speak Arabic.

From Arab countries (of middle east), Saudia Arabia best performance was in 1994 when they qualified for round of 16.

Algeria was another African country to make it to round of 16 in 2014 WC.

The answer to your question is, Morocco has so far done best in Fifa WC both in terms of as an African nation and Arabic.

Thank you.
5788  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How reliable is the AntMiner S19 Pro? on: December 10, 2022, 09:13:05 PM
The S19 pros are pretty reliable when compared to the previous 17 series, there haven't been any significant issues reported, they have some funky PSUs and that's all about it, so make sure you get a spare PSU just in case you need it. The "i' version is the only exception, it sucks and it's the cheapest out there, I'd stay away from it.

When compared to M30s+ which are almost in the same efficiency group, the MicroBT beats the S19 pro by a slight difference in terms of reliability,  none of this is my own personal experience, but I dig into so many telegram groups and I know I few folks who own a dozen of each, so I am just relaying that information here for everyone's benefits.

Well the s17 and s15 had glued heat sinks which were pretty big issue

my s19 seem better also heavy solid heat sink.

5790  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Price Hit $23,000 in Q1 2023? on: December 10, 2022, 04:54:59 PM
Bitcoin price is displaying some stability above $17,000 as it is holding these levels despite the bearish attempts to drag the price lower.

As the trend remains largely incremental, the token is believed to maintain a steep upswing to regain its price.

Quote
Will it reach or cross above $20,000 in Q1 2023?

that would be terrible indeed.

today is the 10th of december

q1 ends in just about 100 days.

If you were like JJG and did DCA.

You would want price to stay at 15-17.
5791  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 10, 2022, 01:34:08 AM
nice buddy Just simply a relaxed walk down the path to DCA

Provided your exchange doesn't pull the plug when you want to buy.

If coinbase pulls the plug btc is done.

And I lift the btc out of coinbase into my own wallet on a regular basis.

Its gone offline a few times during dips.

Several social media users seemed frustrated at the app and site’s error while cryptocurrencies were plunging, looking to buy the dip.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/ggrg0k/coinbase_did_it_again_just_when_the_prices_hit/

dca is weekly not an issue.

and I do a 4x dca manually.

and lift  the coins off  coinbase .

I don't worry about the dca pretty much sure that it will allow buys.

the manual dips are harder to get as I don't stay on coinbase all the time.

I did get a lot of dips in the 15-16k slot.

Hi folks and friends,

This is a quick question... do you think the bitocoin price will continue falling during the 2023, or we are actually seeing the bottom price? can you see bitcoin at $5,000 during 2023? $10,000 perhaps?

Thank you a lot, trying to make the right desitions...

Kind regards;
Chris

I think you should be like JJG and DCA.

Make a number one you can spend once a week.

Start this week and buy that number 55 times.

3 weeks in a row this year.
52 weeks in a row next year.

No decision needs to be made as to when to wait for a number.

Just buy every week for 55 weeks in a row.

Hello fellow Bitcoin "enthusiasts,"

I know that many of you are probably licking your chops at the thought of Bitcoin going on another one of its infamous parabolic runs, but let me tell you, you're all going to be disappointed.

First of all, let's look at the so-called "increased adoption" of Bitcoin by mainstream businesses and organizations. Yes, there are a handful of companies that have started accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment, but let's be real here, how many people are actually using it? The vast majority of transactions are still done using traditional currencies, and until that changes, the demand for Bitcoin is not going to skyrocket.

And even if there was an increase in demand, do you really think that would be enough to cause a parabolic rise in the price of Bitcoin? Please, spare me the "limited supply" argument. Just because there will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin in existence doesn't mean that they are all going to be worth a fortune. In fact, the vast majority of them are probably being hoarded by a select few, and the rest are being traded for pennies on the dollar.

And as for the idea that Bitcoin is a "hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty," give me a break. Do you really think that a decentralized, unregulated digital currency is going to be able to withstand a global economic crisis? It's not even backed by anything of tangible value, and it's completely subject to the whims of the market.

In conclusion, all of you need to stop drinking the Kool-Aid and face reality. Bitcoin is not going to experience a parabolic rise in the early new year, and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves. So please, for the love of god, stop spamming the forums with your nonsensical ramblings and try to have a little bit of critical thinking.

are you now a Proudhon convert?

5799  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2022 Diff thread. on: December 09, 2022, 06:39:26 PM
Well, this kind of article does make me feel better, even with the obvious threat of a huge price hike coming in January that might put me in the same spot as them, but, at least I don't have any loan sharks coming after me.
As for the positive ending...

Quote
Still, Pintos says the worst is over. As miners unplug, the Bitcoin blockchain will make it easier to mine new coins, thereby increasing the revenue of the miners who survive. But if Bitcoin’s price rises, the cycle of short-term loans and cascading crashes may continue once more.

Somehow he missed the other scenario, what happens if the coin goes to 10k?  It starts with the word f* and it ends with multiple times in a row with a shovel! Grin
Back to the difficulty, I will respect Mikeywith wish (for a while), and no way I'm going to predict on what the current diff says because it makes no sense whatsoever, this is just somebody making fun of us, common, if this really happens then the whole thing is some kind of alien simulation that are just enjoying making us miserable

Current Pace:   109.2058%
34,2T with an increase of 9% makes 37,3T which would be a new ATH, 3 more exahash over the previous.

well even if that one pool was 200 blocks vs 250 blocks and fixed the issue it would not account for a jump like this.

Unless fixing the issue was going off line with 14eh that was underperforming then bringing it back online and fixing the 200/250 issue.

that would have caused the low -7% as 14eh is around 5 or 6% bring it online and fix the missfiring you bring back to 7-8% Its a stretch but close.
5800  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: December 09, 2022, 05:26:32 PM
Buddy I have been thinking. I have been far too harsh. From now on its me and you through thick and thin.

I do my weekly dca tomorrow and you have been a big part of my dca. {and JJG of course}
11/04 x BTC
11/11 x BTC
11/18 x BTC
11/25 x BTC
12/02 x BTC
12/09 x BTC if all goes well. so 6 weeks of dca

I will admit that I do prefer the idea of weekly DCA rather than daily or even monthly if you are able to figure out a way to accomplish such.. yet being so rigid in regards to the day of the week being on Fridays could be a little problematic, unless you might be employing some kind of customized manual DCA or are you just setting the date on an exchange and then the exchange employs the DCA on their schedule?

My personal preference (or suggestion to people) is to do their DCA manually, even though I understand on a practical level there is some value regarding "set-it and forget-it".... and in that regard, many normies are not able to set aside a day or a time to make sure that they employ their DCA.. even though it could be a good practice to do so, it may be too much to expect normie newbie to bitcoin to manually employ their DCA.. even if they are ONLY having to set aside such time once a week, or something like that.

I frequently consider that the way that exchanges employ their DCA, I have to question whether there might be some intentional (or perhaps unintentional) gaming around the ways (scheduled times) that they employ their DCAs.... especially the BIGGER exchanges, and if people get ideas regarding what time their DCA buys are going to be employed, then they can trade around those kinds of dynamics.. and it seems to me that some exchanges (I think Bitmex?) learned to keep some of their transaction-related behaviors more secret and/or to spread them out in more random (rather than scheduled ways).

Buddy, you are not supposed to show us stable coin charts

"Stable"?

I know... I know.. .I know..

I heard you.. but.

well the auto on coinbase is manually substituted by a 4x dip buy

which has been done three seperate  times when we dip under 16k.

so since nov 1 6x in dca and 12x in dip buys.

this fall consolidation has allowed me to build on btc quite nicely. I think I went up over three hundred percent in btc holdings.
