581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help M5A78L-M LX3 OEM board does not see 3 riser.FİX but how??? on: October 30, 2017, 01:38:34 PM

First of all I started mining today
I bouht  3 x RX480 8 gb graphics card, but asus M5A78L-M LX3 OEM board does not see 3 riser.Only one of RX 480 working without a riser on mainboard. How can I fix problem? Bios update solves the problem?

This Motherboard features one x16 PCIe, one x1 PCIe and one x1 PCI slot. RX 480 won't work on PCI slot so don't plug it in that. I'm afraid with this motherboard you'll only be able to run two RX480s. You'll have to update the bios and change the lane speed of x16 slot and x1 slot to GEN1. This will enable the slots to detect the risers and connected GPUs to it.

582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I get some tips or suggestions on GPU for mining? Budget varied on: October 29, 2017, 12:52:11 PM
awesome! This sounds very much doable and within budget.

thanks bud I appreciate the suggestion.

I would imagine the next thing to consider is which coin. Outside ETH, I was looking at Moreno and Zcash. Those seem to be rated as the most profitable ones it seems. LTC sounds like it needs specific hardware to mine.

Yes, Coins based on the algorithm - SHA256, Scrypt, X11, X12, X13, Quark are mined with ASIC (Specialized hardware). LTC is based on Scrypt algorithm.

A question on gpu support - Even if the gpu is pciex16, is IT correct that IT can connect to pciex1 socket? Do the risers make the correct connections between the pins?

Technically, x1/x2/x4/x8/x16 are a different version of lane speed/data transfer bandwidth. Meaning, In x2 configuration, data transfer bandwidth between GPU and motherboard will be twice compared to x1 configuration. While we are mining, our GPUs doesn't require that kind of data transfer bandwidth and x1 configuration is pretty good standard for mining. A GPU riser basically connects x16 lane of GPU to x1 lane of the motherboard, thus utilizing it in x1 configuration.

I'll take a look into it. I wonder if this Bronze unit (http://www.skytech.lt/m12ii750-evo-seasonic-m12ii750-evo-edition-750w-plus-bronze-retail-p-294241.html) is worth to get while saving 40EUR compared to Corsair? My wall draw will be max 550W.

It is not worth saving 40EUR. The most common mistake everyone new in mining makes is going cheap on PSU. I'll still recommend going with Corsair. If you're planning to run only 6 GTX1060s, then Corsair RM750x should be okay but if you're looking for expansion and will go till 8 GTX1060s. Then I'll surely recommend RM850x.

Well I am running my GPU's not at full capacity, but downrated to get max MH per Wh of electricity and SATA wires are cold (with 3x GTX1060). On the other hand which connections are preferred to power risers?

I'm using SATA for over months now and never faced any issues. If you do it right, then you can surely use SATA. I'll recommend using a single chain of SATA to power only two GTX1060. Moreover, never forget to reduce power consumption by undervolting. In that way, you're perfectly fine using SATA.
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I get some tips or suggestions on GPU for mining? Budget varied on: October 28, 2017, 07:21:23 AM
You can go with refurbished or second hand for motherboard, CPU, SSD and RAM after doing some test to make sure that they don't have any issues with them.
Typically,
MOB: 60 USD with 6 GPU Support.
CPU: 40 USD
SSD: 20 USD (60GB)
RAM: 15-20 USD (4GB)
Total: 135- 140 USD.

Now for PSU, don't go cheap with the PSU. A Gold rated Modular PSU will cost USD 150 which will be able to support 6 GPUs preferably GTX 1060s. I'll suggest for Corsair RM850x.
A pack of GPU Risers, get a few more than needed because risers are the only components that may pose issues and it is better to keep some spare in hand. (USD 40)
If you can get a good deal for GTX 1060 (Say? 200 USD). Go for 3x GTX 1060 at first.
Assemble your rig, get used to the mining software and such. After a while, when you get a hang of it, expand!
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3+ scrypt Is there still time???? on: October 28, 2017, 07:08:35 AM
As new companies from France, Japan is planning to enter production for ASICs from next year, I'll suggest to wait it out and see what the future holds. I'm pretty sure we'll be doing ASICs priced the same and double the hashrate for Scrypt Algorithm. The old tech will wear off in months and it'll be much harder to break even for the cost of the miner.
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mixing server psu's and standard psu's and questions about PCI E connections on: October 27, 2017, 07:37:28 PM
yeah, i figured it would come to that lol

Trying to cut costs if i can for the time being, as i have a lot to buy scalewise (25 rigs x 5 cards) and have access to free hp workstation psu's 400w

I was hoping to power gpu's only with the dps1200's i have (8 cards per on 10pci breakout board), it'd mean buying twice as many psu's, breakout boards and cables
figuring that the 400w psu will have just about enough headroom to run 5 risers and its cpu

Just make sure to give some room for server PSUs and don't overload them for 24hr operation. 1100-1150W consumption should be perfect and can serve you for a long time. Moreover, go with a Gold rating or plus ATX PSUs for MOB and other basic components.

So in this configuration with a regular ATX and a server psu, nothing is needed for then to work in conjunction?
like when you use add2psu adapters for dual ATX psus

No, not needed. ATX PSU should power motherboard, CPU Power, SSD (If present), GPU risers whereas Server PSU should be used to power the GPUs only. First, start the server PSU, then switch ON the ATX PSU and then power ON the system.

is there any recommended place to get the dps1200 and breakout board?

587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: need help to complete ethereum mining rig on: October 27, 2017, 01:51:54 PM
Hello i've bought as follow

Intel Celeron G1820
ASRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0 LGA 1150 R2
6 X Sapphire Radeon NITRO+ RX 570 8GB AMD OC Dual 580
4gb DDR3  Ram
Raisers
and i'll make the rig here custom

the question is ,
-what power supply should i get to handle all this gpu and MB ?
- i've saw alot of videos ppl replace gpu cables with other cables they say its better is that true ?

My 6x RX 580 Rig is powered with Dual Corsair RM750x with add2psu Adapter. I'm running it for a few months now and no issues what so ever. It all basically depends on the price point of the PSU available around you.
A Gold Rated or above PSU from a reputable brand with 20% more wattage than your consumption is all you need.
Typically, Solo mining will consume around 90w for a single GPU, while dual mining may consume around 110-115w for a single GPU. Remeber, with more power consumption comes higher temperature.
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to connect more GPUs to Xilense XP730R8 PSU? on: October 27, 2017, 01:28:22 PM
I have a rig of 4x GTX1060. Together they are drawing 350 W at the wall, which is much less than this PSU (730W) can handle. I would like to expand my rig to 6x GTX1060. But this PSU lacks 6 PIN connections and also SATA connections for raisers. You can check its connections here: http://www.xilence.de/en/products/power-supplies/performance-a-series/xn063.html

Are there any adapters to expand PSU connections? Is it safe to do?

As this is a bronze rated PSU and not a modular one. I'll recommend not using any adapters to gain more connections for more GPUs. However, I'll recommend you to invest in a Gold rated PSU, Corsair RM850x is a personal favourite of mine. It can easily handle 8x GTX1060, and way durable to handle 24hr operation, so you won't regret investing in one.

I hope there is a good explanation as to why the wallet process requires an access to my webcam?

The explanation of why the wallet process requires access to a webcam is:
To take pictures of QR codes! Other Wallets or Private keys from cold wallets!

If you click deny, the application will still work with no issues. Just cannot use the webcam for scanning QR codes.

592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero GPU ROI on: October 25, 2017, 08:21:08 AM
Hi all,

Was wondering if there is any site that lists the ROI for the various GPUs that can be used to mine Moneros? I am thinking of getting another Vega 56 to add on to my Vega 56 rig but I was not sure if that is the best option.

Sincerely, There are so many factors that can greatly influence your calculation of your break even for your GPU cost.
1) If Price of Monero coin increases or decreases.
2) If the difficulty increases or decreases.
3) Downtime of your rig due to issues/maintenance.
4) Stale shares, Pool fees, miner fees.
5) Taking in account of your electricity cost.

Whatever you calculate through the website, just add two-three months to it for a realistic achievable plan if everything stays the same.
But if you play your moves correctly, it can be done before your calculated timeline.
Happy mining!
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mine new coin: VoteCoin - equihash, very low difficulty now on: October 25, 2017, 08:10:43 AM
interesting coin... is there more details on who's behind this coin? 4$/day is great and all especially with a large amount mined per day but does this coin really have any future?

There are more details on the website. Only time can tell what this coin can provide to cryptocurrency community.
Moreover, if you have 8x GTX 1060.
Total hashrate: 300 Sol/s * 8 = 2400 Sol/s
Total Coins Mined in a day (Considering Current Hashrate): [ (2400 Sol/s) / ( 298480 Sol/s) ] * 72000 = 579 Coins (approx.)
Currently Trading @ 0.0000025 BTC/coin, thus 579 * 0.0000025 BTC = 0.0014475 BTC ~ 8.10 USD
A Dollor a GPU. Not bad, but definitely not great. If in chance it increases in future, then it is too lucrative to mine as of now.

What difficulity is now?  I need some equihash with low dif to check my pool software

Network Hash/s: 292.60 KSol/s
Difficulty: 86158.71379542131

For future reference, you can check this site for Votecoin Network Stats: http://pool.votecoin.site/stats

thanks,  but anyway for my testing is too much.    Is any testnet here?

I don't think so if there is any testnet available.

I think best idea are low difficult ICO's or whatever, i get 12 MH/s actually doing Musicoin is that a good idea?

Try mining coins that are not so popular as of now and mine a ton of them. This will act as a learning curve and do go for coins that you believe can become high in value in future.
Check announcements page for such. A few examples that I can give are Trezarcoin, Denarius, Votecoin.

Hi
I have 1000? to spend . I want to mine electroneum . what can i buy with this money to mine ETN?
I haven't any mining experience.

ETN is not mineable.

ETN is entirely mineable. You will be able to mine it on Windows, Mac, Linux, and also on your phone.

It was not mineable during the ICO but will become mineable once the blockchain goes live on 1 November 2017.

Oh Okay. My bad!
I just read the technical details on electroneum and it is using cryptonight algorithm for their blockchain. So, it'll be mineable.
Anyway, Vega is the best out there for mining cryptonight algorithm coins as of now.

598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Miner need help with my 1060s 3gb version on: October 23, 2017, 01:31:16 PM
hello

im new to the mining area hahaha , i came here asking for advice from the experts here

after some reading and checking local markets prices i made a choice with going with 2 rigs having the 1060s models

i have tested some of the cards and seem i was kinda lucky getting almost 70% of the them with a samsung memory

i want to know what is the best setups to put my rig on .... and should i mine with 65% most of the time to save my cards fan life and card life in general ?

1) A complete separate rig consisting of 1060s with Samsung memory. This will ease the process of finding the sweet spot for overclocking for a particular algorithm.
Another rig for remaining cards.

2) Yes, you can use them at 65% fan speeds with no issue what-so-ever. If the GPUs are maintained properly from time to time, they should easily serve you for years to come.

3) The core overclock parameter for stable hashrate is in the range of "+0 to +150" for all 1060s devoid of their memory manufacturer while the memory overclock parameter for stable hashrate is different for different memory manufacturer.
Samsung: +800
Micron: +450
Hynix: +150
(According to my testing on my GPUs, they can vary a bit)

My friend wanting to start bitcoin mining using D3 antminer, anyone can give advice if this is profitable right now and/or great for long term mining? We already consider all things we are wondering how much bitcoin can produce of this antminer in 1 day? Anyone who are using this? Can you give us advice, thanks in advance.

Antminer D3 doesn't mine Bitcoin (SHA-256). Antminer D3 is made to mine coins which are based on x11 algorithm like DASH.
If you want to get Bitcoin through D3, you can mine DASH and get them converted to Bitcoin.
As of now,
Antminer D3 can do 15-19 GH/s hash rate depending on the batch on x11 Algo.
i.e, generating 0.0685 DASH (last 24 hrs.) with current difficulty. 18.46USD, 0.00309 Bitcoin

Antminer S9 and T9 can mine Bitcoin directly and you can get a rough idea of their earning through www.whattomine.com/asic
