Kim isnt going to start anything with the US, or anyone. It would be suicide on his part, and even he knows it, as certifiably crazy and despotic as he is.
And, even IF he actually provoked a "war", it would be so short-lived as to be a joke. It definitely wouldn't be a "World War".

I'm hoping it's Canada.
I mean.... they sent us Justin Beiber? Yeah, you earned the whoopin' Canada!

Oh, yeah, they definitely have orchestrated some cultural changes throughout their history. Some, for the better. Some, not so much. I think it's hilarious that, while the above (and your topic) is absolutely true, that my original statement is as well. The law of unintended consequences. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

If "the media" is to blame, they did a horrible job if they wanted to exert influence in modern times.
Look at today, most people (especially the "young" under 30 crowd) don't get their news from the same, monolithic sources as older generations did. With the internet, a person has a limitless supply of news sources. Of course, that is also a HUGE negative on its own, but it is proof that "the media" isn't controlling much, if anything, in 2017.

I would say Russia. With North Korea a close second.
Putin is a holdover from the Cold War and the Soviet Union. He's basically an elected dictator. North Korea seems to be saber-rattling a lot nowadays, moreso than normal under Un's father. And he's crazy enough to try to back that rattling up, if possible.

"Tough Love" actually works, sometimes. This might be one of those times.

In the US, we're guaranteed the right to bear arms. Not because it's fun, or cool, but because it's a deterrent from government overstepping its bounds.
When only the govt has guns (military or police), you're screwed.

Some premium cheese here in Europe can be sold to up to 1000$ a wheel. What makes them worth that much is however rather the rarity of them more than fan people pay to pay that much. Rarity definitely makes things worth more...as long as people are actually looking for said rare item. Supply & Demand. If the supply is low, but demand is high, it will be "worth" more. If supply is low, but so is demand, that isn't true. It's not only the rarity that drives the price, but peoples' desire to still obtain it at that price.

Indeed, the willingness to trade is the crucial factor here. Something that collectors of very expensive luxury items would know. They all agree among themselves that the value of their holdings are slowly but surely rising. What they might have spent a fortune on years ago is worth a lot more today, with increasing rarity and uniqueness. But the real problem, which many recognise, is finding someone willing to trade for it for its perceived value. Saw a show recently about a guy who spent $2million worth on special edition Nike shoes, enough to fill up an entire warehouse, all on display in immaculate condition. He tried selling it for $1 million, HALF of what he invested, insisting it was worth much more. He wasn't wrong, and Nike enthusiasts might agree... but the rest of the world wouldn't think so. So you might bank on cheese, and hope more and more people agree that cheese is valuable and can be convinced to trade for it. The same way we're all banking on Bitcoin ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Yes. We have to remember that, at one time in the not so distant past, things like certain spices (salt, for instance) were far more valuable than shiny, pliable metals such as gold, silver, etc. Salt was needed for daily life, way moreso than a golden bauble. Fast forward to today where we post on here using a phone that costs a few bucks to make but we "value" at upwards of $800 or more and we will spill a gallon of salt and not even pick a single grain up.

I don't see anyone "firing first" in a way as to start a major war. Even North Korea isn't that reckless.

In college, I always jammed to headphones while studying. I often do the same, now, to concentrate on whatever I'm working on.

1) Surround yourself with positive people. In school, and out. Negative people bring you down. Positive people raise you up.
2) Find something you really enjoy to take your mind off of the school work from time to time. Getting burnt out is a big reason people tend you start slacking in school.
3) Develop a schedule, where capable, of schoolwork time and then "play time", through the week. Try as hard as possible to adhere to this schedule. Again, work is important, but everybody needs some brain relaxation, too.

Giving a populace more options in how to conduct commerce is always going to have positives. Unfortunately, like with any form of currency, it will involve many negatives, too.

In most every situation, letting your anger get the best of you is never going to make things better. It almost ALWAYS makes things worse, usually much more so.
On the rare occasion that something angers me (true anger, not just yelling at the idiots on the road) I walk away from the situation and try to think of other things that won't fuel the anger more. Or, I drive around. Driving relaxes me. Even when the road is filled with mouth-breathing imbeciles.

It's no different than any other commodity or fiat currency/ government bonds you want to invest in.
You research all available information for the signs that Commodity X/Fiat currency Y is going to be "the new hotness" and roll with that decision.
