582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Membergroups; or: Why do some users get colored coins under their names? on: June 18, 2013, 09:39:53 PM
So you may be wondering whether you should trust someone based on those fancy coins under their name, or perhaps their post count. The short answer is: Do not use these rankings to determine trust!
This post is intended to show you as a future trader how easy it is to get a rank, so that you can be wiser when conducting a trade. As a side note, I always recommend using escrow when possible, especially when you have not previously traded with someone. Always read their posts in their profile to help determine whether they are contributing positively and to attempt to determine trust. Search the forums for more detail and read the other stickies relating to trading discussions and trust.

All the main ranks that can be handed out to normal users are: Brand New, Newbie, Jr. Member, Full Member, Sr. Member, and Hero Member.
Special notes for Newbie status: If a user has been whitelisted manually by forum administration, they will retain Newbie status regardless of their post count, until they have fulfilled a minimum of 4 hours logged in.

In addition to the main rankings, there are also sub-rankings that can be applied, and those are: SCAMMER, Donator, and VIP. Besides the colors, Donators and VIPs get other perks such as access to a secret subforum dedicated to them, and the ability change their usernames whenever they want from within their profiles. SCAMMERs have several restrictions, but are still allowed to post unless they are banned for another reason. SCAMMERs cannot change their profile (including signature, avatar, etc), cannot edit their posts later, and other things.

Finally, staff sub-rankings are as follows: Staff, Moderator, Global Moderator, Administrator, and Founder. Staff members have access to a special "Staff" board where forum moderation is discussed, as well as to the Donator board. Any staff member can whitelist a newbie, just ask!

With the new rules from today, this must be updated...
583  Other / Meta / Re: Returning from Full Member to Junior Member... on: June 18, 2013, 09:17:07 PM
There's been a discussion of late regarding post counts, spam, and newbies flooding the forums.

The idea is to weigh the number of posts against how long the user has been on the forums.

That's a logic decision. I only have 18 days of this forum but, as I'm on holidays, I'm very active in several threads. It's why I already was a Full Member... not anymore...  Cry

Now we have to see what the new rules are...  Shocked

This thread is sort of a testament on why a change needed to happen. Focus on the content and character of a poster, not how many gold coins are under their name, how many posts they have, or what member title they have.

Ok, I don't even deserve to be a Junior Member, as I don't know how to add numbers... eheheh... From First May till today are 48 days and not 18...  Shocked

But regarding titles and gold coins... That would not be a problem if I had many BTC (10 or even 50) as I could buy whatever title and gold coins I would like... with the donation system of this Forum.
But you would still have a low activity

Yes, but see your own case, jackjack... With 2 full years of registration in the Forum and with more than 2,3K posts, it's ilogic to be only a Senior Member with a activity of only 280...

Greetings.

One hour ago, my profile indicated correctly that I was a Full Member, with 179 Posts:

Now, it's indicating that I'm a Junior Member again, with only an activity of 56 (not morethe word 'posts'):

I logged off, logged on again, and the counting still maintains the activity of 56.

What did I do wrong?

Did BFL included a receipt with the real value of the Jalapeño at the outside of the package, including post & package, for the "Customs taxes"?

@yxt

it has a CE mark and i already contacted the seller, no reply yet. don't know if i should contact eBay customer service as well.

If the seller doesn't answer your contact, trigger the eBay Buyer Protection and select "Report that you received an item that wasn't as described".

My 2 USB Gizmos are connected (and mining) to a StandardS 7 Port USB 2.0 HUB Powered bought in China via eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230976716952?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649), but with a 5V 3Amp. Velleman PSS0530 switching power supply  (http://www.velleman.eu/products/view/?country=es&lang=en&id=376248). No problems till now.
593  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Need your help, new Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: June 18, 2013, 11:31:01 AM
The MinePeon's 2013.06.11 version is working fine with my 2 USB Block Eruptors, but I still have to SSH to the RPI / sudo console -r
to see the hash rate, as I still can't get the web Status screen annd tryipg the miner.php page, I always get a server error:

Code:
The website encountered an error while retrieving https://192.168.1.115/miner.php. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
Error code: 500

To have the RPI's IP "static", I reserved it's macaddress at the DD-WRT router's DHCP.

A little video of my USB Gizmos (I recommend selecting HD): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10201539124267144

597  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ASIC Chip PCB Design/Manufacturing & Assembly on: June 18, 2013, 12:41:51 AM
Who's gonna do it?

There are so so so many options to get Avalon chips assembled... almost too many.

Hopefully at least one of you are planning on doing the same for BFL chips???

Before I plop down $7k on 100 chips, I'd like to know I will have somewhere to get them assembled.  Grin

See this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200067.msg2476940#msg2476940

the spanish guy, nekonos, is assembling the Avalon chips at a reasonable price.

Quote
The price for the Full Miner assembly service will include:*:
4 Layers’ PCB
All electronic components
Full assembly
Heat Sink
12 to 24 hours testing to meet the so deserved BkkCoins’s royalties.
Fan and Case will be available at an extra cost

Perhaps because it is of an older version, probably a prototype chip...

Just received it today.

Did you upgraded to 7 GH/s? What value did you got with a mining software?
