581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots is More Likely to Cause Gambling Problem on: June 23, 2022, 01:01:20 PM
For sure! Why? Because slots games are the most entertaining games in the casino. Probably only pachinko that has the same level of entertainment, the rest: table games, live games, sports betting, etc. are nowhere near slots. They are boring, outdated, and not graphically appealing.

Don't BS me we with "but it depends on your taste." The data said so.

Anyway, know your limit, so you can still play slots without risking your life.

In my opinion, there is more excitement in sports betting because there are unexpected comebacks when the game turns upside down and the level of tension is incredible in any important match (and if we are talking about matches for winning championship, this is generally an incredible level). In slots, everything is always about the same. You can increase the excitement in slots only by increasing the amount of the bet, but this leads to great risk and potentially great losses and harm.

Reputation issues are extremely complex and each separate case must be considered individually. In my opinion, most users, if they see a lot of positive reviews and one negative one, will "try on" a negative review for themselves - if the circumstances described there concern them, they will perceive it as a serious warning, if not, then no.
583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government Owned Online Casinos What Do You Think Of Its Potential on: June 23, 2022, 12:32:46 PM
As you know, governments always support businesses and organizations that belong to them. The state also has quite a lot of leverage over competitors who will eventually simply sell their businesses because they cannot compete with state institutions. It is difficult to do business when you constantly have some inspections, power outages and other problems that can be arranged by such a strong competitor.

And unlike a private entrepreneur, the state does not care about whether the business is unprofitable or not. Under such conditions, it may turn out that there will be several state players on the market on the verge of profitability and several private ones who will eventually be forced to leave the market, since zero (or negative) profitability does not suit anyone.
584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: June 23, 2022, 12:23:56 PM
^^ Not sure what rounds, but possible this time, Usyk might show his power because of how huge he is couple of days before the fight itself. Or probably the combination, showing his skills again at the same tiem trying to throw that bombs. We all know that Joshua doesn't have a good chin, it has been broken many times already and if Usyk can land perfectly on his chin, gonna be over.

At the moment, bookmakers evaluate Usyk as a clear favorite:

Usyk, Oleksandr - 1,46

Joshua, Anthony - 2,65

1.46 is about the coefficient that really indicates a high probability of a knockout in a fight or even in the first half of a fight. On the one hand, 2.65 for Joshua's victory looks like a good compensation for the risk, on the other hand, Joshua's chances lie in a random knockout, so it is hardly worth counting on such an outcome.
585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: June 22, 2022, 06:03:18 PM
For me it was always more painful when Bitcoin pumped because I could remember all the money that I've wasted and kept thinking about the things I'd be able to buy now that I'd have 5 times more without having to take the risk. It's actually amazing how much every small move that we make can affect our future, like the decision to roll the dice. You think you're winning or losing $1000 but you could in 10 years see that at that time you were winning or losing a million.

interesting
maybe we can explore the opposite question of the OP too
Does bitcoin pump have any impact on gamblers?

maybe there's peopple who are less prone to gambling when price is higher, because it would make more sense to hold it.

It seems to me that real gamblers do not think about such long-term prospects - it's one thing if they see that bitcoin has fallen or grown by 10% in a day, then they can talk about loss or gain. But it's another matter to look to a more distant future - a gambler wants to play here and now, and not wait for theoretical (and not guaranteed) returns from investing.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 22, 2022, 05:43:41 PM
Yes, the other day on Twitter I came across a picture of the final distribution of teams in that group and I immediately remembered this discussion. It really was a surprise for everyone. Theoretically, something similar should happen at current World Cup (since if the favorites always won, the chances for them would be 1.01, and not like now), but it is very difficult to understand where the kaleidoscope will develop in such a way that one team will completely fail and the other play above their capabilities.

Yes, Germany is the one who remembers they got knocked out in the very first round and I remember another theory coming into play that if your group stage is way too easy, then you will suffer in the KO rounds because you'll be too overconfident and too complacent, whereas on the other hand, play tough groups and you come out ready to battle in the KO rounds.

IIRC this is how recent tournaments played even in African Cup of Nations. Time to bet against easy group winners!

This is a good idea because in fact the favorites will be very much overvalued, but someone will definitely lose to the underdog and betting on this can pay off all unsuccessful bets on such outcomes. Plus, it seems to me that the unusual atmosphere of the World Cup will add randomness to the results. Maybe we will even see some new champion.
587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on transgender only events? on: June 22, 2022, 05:15:02 PM
-skip-
I think it will just be a matter of time before other sports organization will follow after them. Will there be a good market for this? I don't know but bookies will probably open a different line for the events exclusive for them. Would you bet if they do?

I do not think that such a market will exist - there are too few participants for someone to give the opportunity to bet on such events. Plus, we all understand that as soon as transgender people get their own separate category (and can not get an advantage over women), they will lose a lot of interest in competitive sports. I don’t want to offend anyone, but everyone understands why there are so many transgender people in women’s sports now - they just get victories for free.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government Owned Online Casinos What Do You Think Of Its Potential on: June 22, 2022, 04:45:36 PM
The Covid is still here and we are still in a pandemic, I have a topic where Macau is struggling to keep their casinos open despite the spike in their country

Macau's Casino Operation Continues Despite The Latest Outbreak

What do you think if these countries or cities that totally depends on their casino for their revenue to keep the economy floating launch their own online casinos, there are already online casinos based in Macau or a country where land casinos are government-owned but it's privately funded what I mean is government-owned.

Will they get enough support, will they get a huge slice of the market that is ruled by companies, they have the funds and they have the reputation because they are government who are more established and will be more compliant

A very strange idea in my opinion. What kind of perspective do you see if it turns out to be successful? The government will own the business while continuing to deal with laws, regulation, etc.? Maybe in the end it will turn out that the government will be the richest and strongest in the market? In my opinion, this will be a huge threat to democracy.
589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: June 21, 2022, 05:22:52 PM
Although the League of Nations is not important for big teams. However, the performance of Hungary surprised me a lot. They have strong teams like Germany, Italy, and England in their group. However, Hungary is at the top of the group. The 4-0 win over England was excellent. The Hungarian squad has a number of talented players. They will become more experienced if they get the right direction.

In my opinion, in such tournaments, outsiders have a peculiar advantage, since, for example, what does it mean for Germany to win over Hungary in a friendly (or almost) match? I think almost none. At the same time, for Hungary, the victory over England is a great event, and the higher the score, the more epic the victory. Therefore, even with an advantage, they try to score more. Formally, these are official matches and these results will go down in history. So for Hungary it means a lot, while for opponents it doesn't.
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Length of Time Before You Learn All These Gambling Terms Or Jargons on: June 21, 2022, 05:11:22 PM
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that you have to be very detached from the world in order not to understand general terms in a couple of days at most, since many concepts are intuitively clear from the very beginning, we heard about others in other areas, and special terms can be googled in a few seconds. Another thing is that different communities have different slang, it seems to me that the slots community has some features that will be incomprehensible to those who, for example, only bet on sport and vice versa. In addition, there are even differences from forum to forum.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asian Cup 2023 Prediction and Discussion on: June 21, 2022, 05:04:20 PM
Isn't it still too long to predict from now on because considering that we are still in June and it looks very early to make predictions for the 24 countries that will compete in the 2023 Asian Cup? Because I'm referring to the schedule so to say it's still very early to make predictions and it will be a bit more difficult to know who will come out as champion.

In principle, the fact that the topic will become "hot" only in a year does not interfere with a calm discussion of the forces of the teams and what is happening inside them. In my opinion, the main problem is that the hottest topic that will be ahead is the World Cup, and against the background of this, the prospects for teams in the Asian Cup (taking into account the fact that some of them will play in the World Cup) are of no interest to anyone until the end of this most important tournament.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: June 21, 2022, 04:57:42 PM
Nasser al-Khater, CEO of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar: "If you're going to come to Qatar without wedlock, come here knowing that extramarital sex starts from 7 years." If you are hosting an International event, it is wrong to say that. People come there for the biggest organization in the world and as long as they are there, they have to abide by the rules of that country. I find this wrong. Because the World Cup organization is not only football, but also an organization that includes entertainment and activities.

Now this is a very tricky topic. Whenever a mega sports event happens, the host nation will witness an uptick in alcohol consumption, drug abuse and sex tourism. With Qatar, it is going to be a lot more difficult, because of their very strict laws regarding these issues. Consumption of alcohol or "illicit sexual relations" can attract severe penalties, which may include flogging. Homosexuals are usually sentenced to flogging if they are found out to be indulging in sodomy. I don't know how strictly these rules will be implemented during the world cup, because there will be a lot of gay players who are taking part in the tournament.

I do not see anything complicated in this topic. FIFA should not organize championships in countries whose culture is radically different from the dominant global one. If there are sufficiently wild cultures (well, or let's just say different ones) where such things as cannibalism, flogging for sexual preferences, etc. are allowed. then there is no need to deal with them at least in such things as football. If they want to get into a large family of peoples, then let them change. If they don't want to, let them go their own way. But I think it is wrong to advertise their wildness.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: June 20, 2022, 03:35:23 PM
Yes the rematch has been officially announced for 20th August 2022. It will take place at the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia.

I think Angel Fernandez and Robert Garcia will not be able to change the outcome of the fight. Joshua will go into the fight with the mindset he will outbox Usyk as he did in the rematch with Ruiz but Usyk will not be outboxed and will not be knocked out. I think Joshua will get knocked out within 4 rounds.

The only chance Joshua has to win is by knockout if he catches Usyk off guard with a well connected shot, other than that there is no way I can see for Joshua to win.

Bold prediction! Do you think that Usyk has become so strong? In my opinion, the size will allow Joshua to endure much longer than 4 rounds even if Usyk completely dominates. Now I consider the most likely outcome of the fight to be Usyk's victory by decision of the judges. As far as Joshua's chances are concerned, they really only exist in a lucky punch.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto moving into world. Algo sponsor FIFA on: June 20, 2022, 03:10:35 PM
I see that there are already a lot of partnerships at the largest, medium and relatively small levels between crypto projects and the world of sports, show business, etc. I wonder if the current bear market that brings yesterday's industry leaders to the brink of collapse somehow affects this? Breaking partnerships would be a big blow to the reputation of individual projects and crypto in general.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 20, 2022, 02:41:46 PM
I didn't check the order of the games, but it often happens that for example, the favorite wins two games and the competitors draw, so he guarantees himself the first place ahead of schedule and in the last round the coach gives the main team a rest. So if in the last round Costa Rica plays with such an unmotivated Germany, then it may be able to draw or even win.

History tells us that Costa Rica is a team that is very much capable of creating upsets. Remember the 2014 World Cup? They were placed in the toughest possible group, along with England, Italy and Uruguay. Everyone expected them to finish at the bottom without any wins. And then what happened? They won two of their matches, against Uruguay and Italy, and then held England to a goal-less draw. In the end Italy and England finished at the bottom of the group and were eliminated. So it will be risky to underestimate the prospects of Costa Rica.

596  Other / Archival / Re: Betting Systems on: June 20, 2022, 02:17:22 PM
You can find the extensive list of betting systems here: https://sportstatist.com/betting-strategies/

I would call this list "the list of non-working betting systems". In principle, I see a lot of useful (albeit well-known) information here, but I would like to see more practical testing of such ideas. But apparently this is not done, because then it will be obvious that none of the proposed strategies work even to zero, let alone profit.

598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minor Protection From Gambling on: June 19, 2022, 02:24:25 PM
Many casino are aware that minors do play bet with their company but they don't really care because what they need is money. When you login into there site they will only tell you gambling is for 18+, no strict verification to access users. It will be good for casino to make verification requirements strict to  control the rate which minors  play gamble.

In fact, a warning label is quite enough. Why should casinos invent sophisticated KYC? They can still be bypassed one way or another. Parents should be involved in the upbringing of children and they should ensure that children do not do what is forbidden/harmful, and not outside organizations. In general, I noticed from all these measures that supposedly protect children there is almost no benefit, and there is a lot of harm.
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: June 19, 2022, 02:02:51 PM
These days a fixed match is hard to point out even though we see some signs but we cannot totally prove it, that said, I bet that is still happening in some sports, either if it's football, horseracing, dart, or other sports but we certainly don't have intel about that because that information is only shared in closed and higher management. I agree, fixing a match now might be hard because of the improved technology.

There have always been problems with proving that the game was fixed, and you need to understand that this is a very sensitive area where you can unfairly accuse the innocent, so you need ironclad evidence like a video recording of the agreement and the fact of the transfer of money. For example, in tennis, player A bets on player B (who is an outsider) and loses the game to him. Can we accuse Player B of collusion? After all, he may or may not be involved in a dishonest game. You need hard evidence to make a judgment.
600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deriving pleasure in gambling even while losing. on: June 19, 2022, 01:53:49 PM
Funny topic. Completely inverted view of the world. A fair majority of gamblers play for fun and they actually enjoy losing money. A significant part of gamblers play for the sake of winning the jackpot, I can call it a dream, there is nothing wrong with that. And a very small (in my opinion) part of gamblers play for the sake of earning. It doesn't take a genius to play once or twice or ten times to understand that gambling is not suitable for making money.
