582  Economy / Speculation / Re: it IS time for rise on: February 01, 2017, 09:27:25 PM
Can you BELIEVE that the price stopped just a hair short of a new ATH?

Once the Levee breaks, the price is going to skyrocket imo.
583  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase - not able to buy via PayPal? Wtf? on: February 01, 2017, 06:55:15 AM
Most places do not sell BTC for PayPal unless you go through multiple ID verification. And even those places are rare.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another reason to hate and reject SegWit altcoin on: February 01, 2017, 04:38:31 AM
Everybody acts like Bitcoin isn't working amazingly for 200,000+ transactions per day. My goodness... your coins took a few hours to be securely transferred to you, wow. If Satoshi wanted 1 minute blocks, he would have made it 1 minute instead of 10.... right?

And if Bitcoin is obsolete, then create a better Alt Coin and make billions.
585  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price ready to increase ~$25 USD per day during this year. on: February 01, 2017, 04:24:05 AM
You all are acting as if Bitcoin moves in predictable linear paths...
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: cloud mining on: February 01, 2017, 03:00:24 AM
We have some sites listed here:
http://bitcoinbarrel.com/most-profitable-cloud-mining-platforms/

There are not many trustworthy sites, Genesis Mining and Hashflare being some of the few.

Keep in mind Cloud mining is usually not profitable but is a good learning tool for Bitcoin mining.

590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possible outcome if Bitcoin do not implement SegWit and LN on: January 31, 2017, 04:58:34 PM
ill raise a point 5.

if having LN on bitcoin.. will people realise that their funds are locked into X week contracts with penalties for payment hopping and decide, next time they will avoid hops and instead choose hubs, which are cheaper.

making users end up all using the same hub to reduce the hop fee's. turning the hub into paypal 2.0 by being the middle counterparty signing everyone's payment.. for a fee(lower then paying multiple hop fee's).
adding to that. after broadcasting the settlement transaction. having CLTV on the confirmed settlement forcing the confirmed tx to not be spendable for a further 3-5 days to allow the hub manager 3-5 days to submit a CSV revoke code. thus making it feel even more like paypal. which in laymens: 3-5 day balance unavailable and chargebacks.

will people see the benefit of bitcoin?? when it in reality, it ends up feeling the exact same as paypal/failed fiat banking system?

ill raise a point 6.
with people locked into LN hubs.. how many people think /care about the full network, if they are no longer actually transacting daily on the mainnet.
how many full node users will decide they see no benefit of being a full node because all they ever use is the LN node.

will LN actually kill off the full node count when people dont need to use main net daily?

+1 I'll say it once and I'll say it again... If Bitcoin is "Broken" then why haven't the "fixes" been implemented in a brand new Alt-Coin?

The fixes must not be necessary. Looks to be more of a centralization effort to control Bitcoin.
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do we need to do to take the Bitcoin mainstream? on: January 31, 2017, 04:40:21 AM
It's well on its way Mainstream, the issue is the Majority of People are *ahem* less than interested in Crypto-Currencies.

You have people like Richard Branson and Bill Gates saying good things about Bitcoin, so it's definitely out there.

please, clarify:PRO account will be able to add 2 more sites that are not included in your preset refferal builder or 6 sites in total?
I'm a bit confused about 3 level deep thingy
lets say I want to promote two dice site affiliate or two casino affiliate programmes ,will I be able to add it and will I be getting refs under me ?

You can add up to 2 Programs (of your choice, must have Bitcoin affiliate programs), that will be shown on yours and referrals' pages 3 levels deep.

So when your referrals' referrals' referrals sign up they will see your 2 dice sites on the Programs page and Affiliate IDs page.

595  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Is the 3 Transactions/Second argument for Scaling legitimate? on: January 30, 2017, 10:03:07 PM
You continually hear people talk about Bitcoin's 3 tx/sec limit as a reason for block-size scaling solutions....

But is is true?

I see where the figure comes from: Roughly 200k~ Transactions in a Day divided by 24 divided by 60 divided by 60 = 3~

But is that really a LIMIT on Bitcoin's network capabilities? Or just an average for current day-today volume. The reason I ask is because it seems like there are more variables at play here... What are your thoughts?
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ransom Dudes Strike Again! on: January 30, 2017, 09:14:45 PM
Lol, seriously what difference is using old locks going to do? The issue is the employee that installed some virus on the computer. Is this hotel going to seize using computers and internet completely?
597  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] CoinReferrals.com ⫷ Boost your Bitcoin Referral Earnings ✔ on: January 30, 2017, 09:11:14 PM
activation email never arrived Sad
I checked both spam and inbox,no confirmation email whatsoever
I use gmail, wonder what could be the problem

since I cannot activate my account I want to ask about the Pro membership price and how many sites of my own will I be able to add?

from your FAQ:

"You can continue to earn commissions and build referrals with us for Free, or if you want to maximize your earnings upgrade to Pro! Get 50% commission on Direct Referrals and 10% commission on Indirect Pro referrals with Pro account. Pro users can add (2) Member Choice programs that are shown 3 levels deep!"

does this mean that I can add up to 2 sites of my choice if I upgrade?

p.s. never mind ,activation email arrived after 25 minutes o_0

Hello thank you for signing up! Sometimes activation email can take a little bit to arrive since we are getting a lot of registrations.

Yes Pro Members can add 2 Member Choice programs that show 3 referral levels deep. So there can be maximum 6 Member Choice programs shown on a page. Also Pro Members get Random Referrals from direct sign-ups, we just added that feature a few days ago.

There are only 3 Pro Members right now, so it is definitely worth upgrading.
There have been 160+ free referrals given away to Pro accounts so far.
598  Economy / Speculation / Re: kwukduck's schrödinger cat on: January 30, 2017, 09:05:39 PM
For anyone who cares, here is what a real dead cat bounce is all about.

First a business that needs capitol issues a stock. They hope the market will highly value their stock and investors will buy up the stocks so they can stay in business.

Unfortunately their business idea is not very good and the stock price starts falling. Down, down it goes.

But... As it falls a few investors buy because the price is so low it may be worth a bet. At this point the price climbs a bit. but not a lot or for long. In fact the stock is still going to zero because the business will fail without the influx of investor money. That jump near the end is the bounce.

Bitcoin is different. It worked fine when the price was $0.06 and does not need your money to work. It is not a business with bills and employees to pay. It is a computer program. The only way for bitcoin to go to zero is if no people anywhere are using it.

In short, a dead cat bounce can only been seen after a collapse to zero. In other words, the cat has to die.

So kwukduk has confused a Bear Trap with a Dead Cat Bounce?

My favorite part is how he has a Bitcoin address for donations in his sig. LOL
600  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Mass Adoption even possible.. on: January 30, 2017, 07:01:50 AM
Cryptos are almost like stocks and most people have no interest in learning stocks even though the stock exchange is trusted platform.

Thoughts?

I think that mass adoption is possible only if bitcoin becomes a more "offline" currency.
By "offline" i mean that you won`t always need electricity and internet in order to use bitcoins.
The purpose of bitcoin is to be a digital currency,so mass digital adoption is impossible,i guess.

Casascius coins or paper wallets (notes) accomplish this.
