582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🐞 Dogecoin Will hit $1? on: March 08, 2023, 10:58:34 PM
to get coin doge to reach a price of $ 1 we need elon musk to do that with elon accepting coin doge as payment for tesla then the price of coin doge coin will increase, that's just my assumption. do you agree with me?

I think the Tesla thing is outdated. Elon used it once, I don't think he'll do any promotion like that again. DOGE definitely needs figures like Elon to reach $1 though. But $100 is totally delusional. Such thing would never happen with the current marketcap. It would only be possible if a very large portion of the coins somehow disappeared from circulation, which seems impossible. I like DOGE because it was one of the first altcoins I bonded with. But it's a waste of time to talk and daydream about numbers that never come true.
583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2022 bear market? on: March 08, 2023, 10:45:20 PM
It's easy to talk about things after they happen, but to anticipate and catch on before they happen is a real feat. OP made very accurate predictions. What he said about 2022 turned out to be true. I don't know his predictions until 2025, but what's said so far deserves commendation. I couldn't make such an accurate prediction.
No one wanted it to drop that much when the BTC price was at its peak, but there are facts of life. Just as Bitcoin is experiencing sharp rises, it also experiences sharp falls, this is natural.
584  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Inflation Happening All Over the World At Once? on: March 08, 2023, 10:34:06 PM
I am actually wondering why the inflation is still within tolerable limits. Here in India, it is still in single digits. If you remember, back in 2020-21 during the COVID period, a lot of countries used that excuse to print unlimited amounts of banknotes. The M1 monetary supply suddenly went up by 3x or 4x in most of the countries. Given this, I was expecting inflation to shot up to at least in double digits. But somehow the excess supply of money seems to have vanished from the economy. I don't know where it went, but inflation seems to be under control now.

That looks acceptable to me. Do you trust sources for these numbers? I ask this because in Türkiye there is a general belief that official sources explain inflation low. That's why independent companies do their own research and the inflation rate is actually much higher. Last year there was inflation in the 3-digit numbers. Although there is inflation all over the world, Türkiye has one of the highest inflation rates. This is something that can't be explained by the pandemic alone, the effect of bad economic policies on this is huge. There will also be an election this year. I'm curious about the results and the effect on the economy.
585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 08, 2023, 10:18:55 PM
Honestly, I didn't expect the Lakers to win anything during LeBron's absence, but now they have 7 wins in their last 10 games, and that's surprising. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but they've been doing really well since getting rid of Westbrook. However, it's too early for them to relax because there are 16 more games left until the end of the regular season, and they're not even guaranteed a Play-in Tournament or Playoff spot yet.

I don't think it's directly related to Westbrook. I think LeBron made a team speech about how important to play in play-off and the team do their best. Anthony Davis came back strong, Schröder and Reaves play great. D'Angelo Russell will return soon. They are already in play-in bracket. I believe they'll stay inside and make play-off. A couple of weeks earlier that looked hard but now it's very possible. The luck is also on their side as other teams constantly lost games. Playing against Grizzlies when Morant is out etc. there were too many small factors.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 08, 2023, 10:03:06 PM
Well, it was a huge disappointment for PSG. They did nothing to win the match. Maybe it would've been different if they had scored in the first half. Bayern won very easily, even in their current state. I guess it's a psychological thing now. PSG doesn't stand a chance against Bayern. I don't think this Bayern can make it to the final though.
587  Local / Türkçe (Turkish) / Re: 1. Bitcointalk Pie (Turta) Yarışması on: March 08, 2023, 09:43:40 PM
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 08, 2023, 09:28:41 PM
I'm following both games, mainly PSG game but first halves were very boring. PSG defense made an unbelievable mistake and they conceded a goal in second half. Now they have to score 2 but that looks very hard in that limited time. If Messi and Mbappe don't create miracles that will be another failure for PSG.
589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I managed to convince my senior dad to invest in BTC on: March 08, 2023, 08:30:48 PM
Fast forward to early 2020, just before the pandemic, I started to buy BTC and I had always told my dad about this new "digital gold". He was skeptical (he's lived most of his life with FIAT and cash after all) but curious. He thought it was too risky though.

Not sure why, but last week he finally told me he wanted to try it. So we setup his software wallet and he bought 0.01 BTC. Not sure if he'll buy more, but I can certainly say I'm proud of him!

Did you manage to convince your dads or other older people in your family to buy BTC?

Congrats to you and your dad. You convinced your dad to make a purchase. Even if he's skeptical about Bitcoin, he believes in you and cared about your opinion. He probably doesn't have much financial target left for himself, all investment is for children. It's never too late to buy Bitcoin!
Over the years young or old, I told too many people about Bitcoin and got mixed reactions. In the end we shouldn't expect everyone to understand or react well.
590  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To all women in bitcoin world on: March 08, 2023, 06:35:35 PM
Why do women in Africa suffer more than the rest of the world? I think there are happy and miserable people everywhere, no place is more miserable than anywhere.

There are cultural differences. In some places of the world, living conditions are more difficult. In some countries you are discriminated against because you are a woman, in others because you are gay or you don't believe in religions etc.. I see the world making progress (We have evolved from societies where people stone women to societies that pay less to women) on these issues, but there is still a long way to go.

There are very few women who are interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. I would like their numbers to increase. In general, I congratulate all working women's day.

The 76ers don't need Harden as Maxey always steps up. I understand why the Timberwolves were favored in that game, but honestly, it's not attractive from my end as Embiid is still unstoppable, despite the Timberwolves having Gobert, a former Defensive Player of the Year.

I like the development of the 76ers. They seem to have impressive chemistry because even if one of their star players misses the game, they are still capable of winning against any team.

They do need Harden as much as Maxey. He's just rested in this back-to-back game and they did well without him. It won't be always like that. Philly played maybe their best third quarter in whole season, that made the difference. Embiid scored like he's playing in the park, no defense from Twolves. Edwards tried to keep them in the game but others couldn't help. Sixers finished the game so early we could even see Furkan Korkmaz in garbage time.

Benfica is just too good for Club Brugge. I guess Belgians should be happy to play in this round but quarter final was only a dream. I was away from TV for 15 minutes and Ramos scored two more goals. At this point Brugge need to defend and finish the game without conceding any more goals.

594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 07, 2023, 12:08:43 PM
I was unaware of this. Does this imply that the Celtics only won the game I watched last week? It almost happened in the same way that the Cavs blew an 18 point lead the Celtics had at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Despite the fact that the Celtics were able to win that game, they only had a four point lead. The fact that these two teams went overtime three times and the Cavs won them all is a huge coincidence. Numerous bookies are claiming that the Boston Celtics is the best team in NBA this season.

Celtics' overtime record is not that impressing, they are 4-7 now. Cavs won all 7 games they went to overtime. This is something they need to work on to fix before play-off. Sometimes Brown choke like this while Tatum is out. Play-off series are different than regular season games so they will be more focused on games. Celtics still look more reliable team to me, except their overtime performance.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 07, 2023, 03:00:07 AM
Celtics scored threes with incredible percentage in first half and played a great defense in last period. Even without Tatum they were very productive. Brogdon made an extra contribution. But they blew the lead in last 24 seconds. They had another chance to win the game but Williams shot 0/2 free throws and Cavs got a miraculous win in overtime. It's funny that these two teams' three games went to overtime this season. Cavs won all three of them. It was like a preview of a possible Eastern semis. That would be a damn good series if happens.

(bkz. Forum Hakkında Sıkça Sorulan Sorular)

597  Local / Türkçe (Turkish) / Re: Satoshi Ortaya Çıkarsa Ne Olur? on: March 06, 2023, 10:34:00 PM

I'll try to do something before the contest ends. I opened a thread in Turkish section, hopefully there will be more participations.
I'll merit all submissions later, I don't want to influence on anything. Good luck to all.
599  Other / Archival / Re: Moderators trimmed the post counter on: March 05, 2023, 05:10:20 PM
A thread with 20 of your posts doesn't have to be deleted to see this. The number of posts may be displayed incorrectly, recounts are made from time to time. There are plenty of threads about this issue.

My proposal to forum administration
Difference between Profile Information post count and Actual Post (II)
Question of forum stats on the Index Page and Post Count

People shouldn't be obsessive about post counts...

I did a global recount of user posts starting yesterday. Your post count had been inaccurate.

I think I have seen my post count shrink with 6 posts, which isn't a big deal for me at all, but I was wondering, how does one end up with an inaccurate post count?

- There are a few rare mod/admin actions which change your real number of posts but neglect to update your post count.
- Errors can occur which can cause it to drift from the real value.
- If your account is fairly old, then previous post-count recounts will have counted your MOVED: redirection topics, even though these are not counted when you make them. I fixed it this time so that these topics are not counted, undoing the previous erroneous recounts.

I just saw the news about Ja Morant. Big contract, big endorsements, rising NBA career and he ends up doing silly things like this. I think he needs a good mentor before anything else.

Two game night on TV and the first one was fine, the second one is even better. Raptors won against Wizards in overtime with VanVleet and Trent Jr.. Wizards couldn't play overtime well, experience won here. Now watching Sixers vs. Bucks, head-to-head game but I expect Bucks to win and carry their streak to 17 games.
