Yes, this was some strange lag - did the wallet sync now for you?

You can create a wallet address in "Receive" tab in the wallet. Then click on "New Address" in the bottom and it will generate a new address for you.

Ok yes; I am sorry, used to another wallet having it the other way around I will edit my post so people don't get confused.
