X11 is already mined with FPGA in china.
I wouldnt mine this with my GPU knowing im getting fucked by chinese.
If you are going to make a claim like that then you need to back it up.

Anybody else noticed that when you use "policy" "NovaCoin" or a clone of it that the database stores really random data? Yet the explorer displays it perfectly? Take a look at this : http://explorer.information-coin.com/block/5bf9c6ba1f6e893a50141040601bf0fbeddffab6dd03f125c3434c41eed9e7d3mysql> select * from block where block_id=5634; +----------+----------------------------------+---------------+----------------------------------+-------------+-------------+--------------+--------------+---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------+----------------+-----------------+----------------------+---------------------+-----------------------+----------------------+--------------+--------------------+ | block_id | block_hash | block_version | block_hashMerkleRoot | block_nTime | block_nBits | block_nNonce | block_height | prev_block_id | search_block_id | block_chain_work | block_value_in | block_value_out | block_total_satoshis | block_total_seconds | block_satoshi_seconds | block_total_ss | block_num_tx | block_ss_destroyed | +----------+----------------------------------+---------------+----------------------------------+-------------+-------------+--------------+--------------+---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------+----------------+-----------------+----------------------+---------------------+-----------------------+----------------------+--------------+--------------------+ | 5634 | =!ňa3ϲ Ap<Sǭ0" | 4 | -i;Im]Ӏж5T,A | 1398428970 | 503599037 | 0 | 5368 | 5627 | -[ | 12512800000 | 12516750410 | 70151186978517 | 1069334 | 9101769833206534328 | 74298551044584278866 | 2 | 1245836932000000 | +----------+----------------------------------+---------------+----------------------------------+-------------+-------------+--------------+--------------+---------------+-----------------+----------------------------------------+----------------+-----------------+----------------------+---------------------+-----------------------+----------------------+--------------+--------------------+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec)
I've been able to reproduce this with half a dozen different coins, yet when I change it from NovaCoin to X11 or Sha256 the data in the DB shows as normal.... Are you sure it depends on policy? Recently I changed Abe to use binary data types by default. To get the old behavior, configure binary-type=hex. Hmm, I was sure it was; I will double check. I have set binary-type=hex in abe.conf but the DB still shows the same; Have tried on two different setups. Deleted the Database and re-created it. EDIT binary-type=hex (and binary) works fine on a old version of Abe but not on the latest version; always seems to store in binary. EDIT Was able to fix this by editing SqlAbstraction.py and setting 'val = sql.config.get('binary_type')' to 'val = "hex"'. binary_type is not set in the DB on latest release.

One question. If you auction 2 identical Macbook on Ebay at the same time, which one will yield higher price ? the one set up with a no reserve auction or the one set up with a 1000$ reserved auction ?
As odd as it sounds, no reserve always seem to yield higher price.

The risk of putting a high value on this early days is that no-one has the incentive to hold and help grow the community and eco-system. Therefore it could start a downwards spiral which would require lots of cash to sustain.
Whilst NXT distribution was flawed in terms of numbers, the one thing they had on their side was that in theory they could have agreed not to sell large numbers hence preventing the early dumping.
With large number of stakeholders comes the challenge of not being able to control large dumps as easily.

Is the "masternode" system live now or still BETA? I should have probably bought my 1k DRK last week since its 400% up at the moment!
Implemented but not paying out yet, I believe thats due anyday with the next RC. It's not going to get any cheaper, steady increase all day with no catalyst. Just glad I bought about 7BTC worth around .0012 Yes tell me about it typical; should have got my 1k DRK last week when I was going to. Good news for the "masternode" runners who already have their 1k DRK as 4BTC is probably going to be hard for many people to put away to run a node... Lets see how the price stabilises over the next 72hours.

Yes and no. Master nodes that you can run yourself are in the wild, however they do not receive payments yet for their service. Is the "masternode" system live now or still BETA? I should have probably bought my 1k DRK last week since its 400% up at the moment!
Live, DarkSend works, but masternode payments not implemented until RC2 I believe. Thanks for clarifying!

What was decided about the multi-pool? Do we really need to create another or better still why not partner with a third party who already has the resources and proven track record of delivering high BTC/MH?
If we are interested I can talk to the admin of one of the multi-pools to facilitate this; recently done it for another coin.
im in talks with the dev of an exiting pool already, should no by some time tonight or tomorow morning. cant say anymore till then, we also talked about some really interesting ideas that havnt been done before. raised 440k pledges so far and utopianf said there may be a chance of the dev of the pool receiving part of a dev stake.. dont know how much that intails yet though waiting on a break down. but by all means get in contact with devs of other pools, preferable pools of coins that actually have a future. perhaps if we get a very nice large bounty for it we may end up with multiple devs working on pools to try and get the bounty if its large enough. that way we could end up with multiple multipools.. but the bounty would want be a very healthy one for that to happen! Will drop you a PM..
