Are you saying that cannacoin is a fork of blackcoin?
Now I'm completely confused. Is it cannacoin or blackcoin that we are joining?
The Cannacoin dev team is helping us to transition SolarCoin to PoS. This is a two-phase process: Phase 1: Block reward reduction from 100 to 1 per block, -3 per day for about a month until it reaches 1 SLR per block. This fork will also include implementation of Kimoto's Gravity Well to fix our problem with wildly fluctuating difficulty, and it will use the Cannacoin codebase. Phase 2: Proof of Stake v. 2.0 using the BlackCoin codebase, with 1% annual interest rate. We partnered with the Cannacoin team because our own team is short on developers right now and the Cannacoin devs are excellent and have created some excellent apps for their coin, which could easily be adapted for SolarCoin (Reddit tip bot, VBulletin forum tip bot, merchant solutions, etc.). We are excited that they want to help SolarCoin succeed, and I, for one, hope their coin will also succeed and becomes the premier currency of the medical marijuana industry. As for the SLR price, yes it's dropped a lot, but so have nearly all other PoW currencies in recent months. What has happened to our price is nothing unusual. It's annoying for all of us who got in early, but I'm confident that the price will go back up after we stop producing so many new coins and switch to 1% annual inflation via PoS. Since I'm on here right now posting, I might as well let everyone know that we've decided to delay the first fork for about 1 more week. The reasons are: (1) when studying the code and the blockchain, the new devs realized there were some problems that should be fixed, such as needing to implement KGW, and we decided to switch to CCN codebase rather than keep using the awful SLR code which was an old, outdated fork of Litecoin and Florincoin. This is going to take a few more days. (2) We needed a few more days also to get the word out and make sure people have enough time to learn about the fork and update their wallets. I will post the new block number as soon as soon as it's decided for sure. Sorry for the delay, but it's a minor one. We're just talking about a few extra days, and we'll be getting a much better codebase, and KGW, as a result of that extra time. Hi I have a question. Blackcoin's pos 2.0 is original pos version used by "peercoin" It's not new or creative version of pos. (Pos 2.0 is the trick naming by blackcoin devs.. It's just competitive pos mining system.. Blackcoin is based on "novacoin..non-competitive pos - very weak !!!" They just go back to original pos system..) If you really want to use solar coins as a money "you need another creative way to prevent the weakness of pos blockchain" Now, there is no solution for pos to keep coins safely. It's not strong way to keep coins safely. Think. If POS system is enough strong, why bit, lite, doge, dark didn't take pos system.. So you steadly need to focus on the method to improve the safety of pos system. And the block reward is dramatically decreasing day by day with your plan. Then, following the reduction of block reward the "Hashrate of mining" will be also decreasing. (The price of coin can't follow this massive reduction of block reward) It means the "safety of blockchain is going weaker and weaker". It's really dangerous. Only one of ASIC can ruin the solarcoin. (The end season of pow.. Only one asic can make a double-spending..) Plz check these things If there have double-spending, your 99% solar coins will be a valueless data Where is your question? |

Re: Distrbution concerns
That's also a number one concern. Distribution. However, that's been a concern from the get-go as we've not had a large amount of miners.
We are hoping that those holding large quantities of coins will assist in decentralization through giveaways.
Regardless, going with a multi-pool will allow any miners to obtain CCN by mining with whatever algorithm they want. Which is a plus.
There's no silver bullet, and no guarantee that switching to different algorithm would lead to more miners supporting the network.
At least people have ample time to mine using scrypt or buy them cheaply on the market.
Since there is no pre-mine, everyone currently holding coins has mined them or purchased them fairly.
All coins staked from the NWGT hosted wallet on the forums will go directly into a fund that will be for giveaways to NWGT members.
I would like to remind everyone that the NXT network started with just 70 holders of NXT that invested by purchasing NXT. Those who invested in the Cannacoin network through either mining or buying with BTC have the opportunity to get people staking by using coins for giveaways.
I expect most people with large quantities of CCN to join in the giveaways.
Alternatively, you can spend them on the Cannacoin.cc/store and we will utilize them for giveaways and development.

Just a quick update for everyone. We have decided to move to the Proof-of-stake 2.0 for many reasons. We will be utilizing the Blackcoin 2.0 codebase. We would like to setup a Cannacoin multipool that allows people to mine using whatever algorithm they wish and receive Cannacoins. We hope to work with Suremine and perhaps Youngwebs to set this up. We have not approached them but we are pretty certain that we will find someone to help. If not, we will setup the multipool ourselves, though we would prefer to outsource the multipool. Why PoS 2.0? This offers a couple advantages. One being network security. The second being that this will decentralize the network by giving more people the opportunity to become nodes. Also, we want to support the development of Blackcoin. By moving to the blackcoin codebase, we will be able to adapt quickly to changes they have made as well as provide feedback to the Blackcoin developers. freebird, thanks for setting that all out. Now that I understand what's afoot I'm happier with the situation here. I still think NXT was the way to go, but the die is cast, and it's a heck of a lot better than PoW.
Are there any features of our new PoS crypto 2.0 platform that you are excited about in their application to SLR? If our new platform can do smart contracts it might be good to award SLR to solar producers through a smart contract function. I can imagine one fine day (once the legal dust settles) being able to invest in a solar installation via an IPO/asset offering on the SLR platform. And we all might be able to vote on decisions affecting SLR via a voting mechanism on our block chain. Or am I just blowing smoke?
First switch SLR to CCN codebase, implement PoW block reward reduction. In the meantime, we will move Cannacoin over to PoS 2.0 and start testing. I am 100% in favor of a switch to x11. I would be very sad if this switch didn't happen. I would probably sell all my coins and ignore this coin if they don't switch algos. A switch to NIST5 would probably be the best. x11/x13/x15 ASICs are on the way in 2015. NIST5 runs stable on my miners and uses a little bit less electricity than the new x11 optimized miner.
A full POS coin is risky but it would be unique this the marijuana coin niche. None exists yet. There are many POS coins now and they are stable/working so far. I am in favor of a full POS switch but only 75% confident in that decision.
I don't like how CannabisCoin switched algos, send in your scrypt wallet and your new x11 wallet address to get coins, but if that is the way CannaCoin has to do it then it is fine.
We agree with you on the influx of coins due to scrypt miners. Fortunately for us, we have a low block reward and this helps prevent a lot of coins from getting sold on exchanges. I apologize to our miners that we have not been more pro-active on the front of moving to different algos because we have been busy building other tools for Cannacoin. We've got a large vision for Cannacoin and we WILL be moving to PoS 2.0 in the next couple months. For the PoS 2.0 we will have to move to SHA256D regardless. As for moving to x11 or NIST5, this remains an option in the short-term in order to get away from ASICs. We will update you guys very soon with our ETA on the switch to Proof-of-stake. no backdoor but there was a 800K premine by the dev dev has been legendary so far and created trading app so trust him i do..just hope he not dumping his 800K on us anytime soon Quite frankly, the dev has every right to sell off the pre-mine. I think this bot can be useful, but i would really like to see a GOOD USER GUIDE for it. I played with the version before this latest one and managed to loose 3k QTL  It is too easy for the bots to be tricked on the order book. Anyone have suggestions on how to set up the bot so it actually earns coins? I must of tried about 10 different settings, but none seems to do any good. I would really like this quatloo coin also, i can see big things ahead. So would really like to be able to use the trader also. Also i would put the order section, below the order book. So the settings for buy, were directly under the buy book and vice versa. Also what are the boxes for, above the buy and sell order books? Quantity & Rate ? Can someone here please make a simple video (with ezvid) or smething, showing how to set it up with a few other tips.When i figure out how to use it, thats what i will create, a video to help newbies like me when it comes to trading bots. I installed 2.0.0.5 and have 110 QTL on my account.
I keep getting the message URI is empty.
It won't load any data.
Restarting the application won't help either and the QTL balance isn't being confirmed by the program. It says I have 0 QTL on bittrex.
Did you try to re-enter your API keys? Make sure there's no spaces before or after |
