135x would be very very welcome  Cool

4,000x like NXT IPO even more so  Grin

CfB had mentioned he was going to make everyone rich "once more" - now we get to see just how rich and how right he was  Tongue

ps. for the record, I am a hard-core HOLD on this. market cap in the hundreds of millions will see me sell a little. Rest is for permanent hold and/or billions in market cap. (even a few for trillions in market cap in case we hit a TOTAL homerun).

Good luck (and hard work) to all.

IOTA could replace BTC, it is the first token designed for the internet-of-things (it is already safe from Quantum Computing!, so it is future-proof and has the first-mover advantage for iot).
Internet-of-things is a HUGE market (billions?) and it will get bigger every day.
So, it is very likely we see a very high ROI, same or bigger than NXT (which was around 4000x of IPO price, if I recall well).

IPO IOTA Marketcap = 930 BTC + 41297*0,0063 = 1190 BTC.
Ethereum marketcap 161 115 BTC.

116 115 / 1190 = x135 ROI. It is a conservative estimate.

440 585 BTC Ripple marketcap / 1190 = x370 ROI. In this case IOTA will be #2 on coinmarketcap.

And you will get x135 if David (iotatoken) will market and communicate with big corporations as crazy (which he does as I know http://blog.bosch-si.com/categories/business-models/2015/12/21-inc-s-bitcoin-mining-asics-pocket-money-bosch-devices/).

Every intelligent  investor will hold.

Why ?

Hardware IOTA support by JINN processor.
David also wrote few times that somewhere in the future they will make a venture capital round to produce JINN in large batches.

And 21 Inc got 100 mil USD from venture capitalists. I predict JinnLabs will get 20 mil USD funding in 2017.
They just do not want to water equity early, and they can get more money if they will go to Accel Partners office and put hardware assembled JINN CPU on the table and ask money to scale bussiness.

Weren't Ripple and Stellar the first scams sans blockchains? So wouldn't this scam be at least the third?

Ripple have had been analyzed few years back by CfB:

Quote
Well, I spent a few days reading about Ripple consensus. Also, I talked to some guys regarding the issue. The resume is - Ripple consensus is bullshit. It's vulnerable to Sybil attack and there is no way to counteract it without centralization.

So, Ripple is a premined centralized coin. I won't waste my time trying to "fix" it. Period.

The main question: is blockchain less coin is trully decentralized ?
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys realize that the first coin WITHOUT A BLOCKCHAIN is about to launch? on: January 08, 2016, 12:33:21 PM
I am fed up of this bullshit innovative 2.0 projects. We just need a plain and simple alt to fix BTC mistakes like block size and fungibility. Like Monero with dynamic block size and unlinkability

Part of the hype-and-FUD roily-boily 'round here. The ---coin fad is long gone, and it's been replaced by the "innovative" fad. And what have we got? A lot of innovations looking for a use case. Cheesy

From the cosmic standpoint, it really is funny how things bumble along 'round here. But that said, "development by going overboard" has resulted in a lot of innovative and potentially useful tech - even if the innovations aren't recognized in alt prices because of the we-gotta-go-overboard phenomenon. Wink (Oversupply.)

There is a lot of tech here now that wasn't around eighteen months ago. That's actually a blessing.

It's intersting in IOTA for me that in moves towards simplicity.

Current 2.0 project moves toward "side chaines" and scripting languages for smart contracts. And this makes things more difficult.

And I wrote already that I think that Ethereum idea  of making things may be overhyped. Innovations that nobody really want. What I really want is trully decentralized lite wallet with fast transactions.

But the good news that we will get all the answers to the end 2016. The 2016 really shows what this 2.0 approach of smart scripting worth and does it makes more sense IOTA approach of simplicity.

Partition intolerance + Micropayments is a bomb.

It means that it is possibale to make a 100% decentralized TRUE lite wallet + transactions without fees.
And it will be extremly fast.

Interesting.  What does this mean, can someone explain how this differs from having a blockchain?

You don't need to know about the details, just remember this formula:

SUPER FAST TRANSACTIONS + FREE TRANSACTIONS (0 FEES) + SUPER LIGHT WALLETS + 0% INFLATION + TALENTED TEAM BEHIND + 1ST MOVER ADVANTAGE = BUY = IOTA = KABOOOOOOM ROI  Wink Wink

then the coin and hype die out when the team withdrawing all the free bitcoins

They have much bigger plans than skating with around $250,000 a piece. That's nothing compared to the potential.

I'm sure even non IPO investors will make crazy RoI, 10x at least. May be more.

Don't hesitate, email The Winklevoss bros: hello@gemini.com

How did that story with cancelled trades end, BTW?

They act like centralized authority. Reverse transaction back cause for some reason they don't like it  Sad

I'm sorry if I'm repeating questions already asked (I cba to read through the thread sorry). When will this coin be available for trading? If its already on an exchange can someone point me to it? Cheesy

P.S. Very interesting sounding project.

Iota will be available for trading some time in january, so this month. Exact date will be known in coming days.

Awesome! Thank you very much for your response. I'm presuming the team is planning on being listed on Poloniex?

Also (again sorry If I'm repeating questions already asked), do you guys have an IRC channel?
Your welcome  Smiley
I have no info on which exchanges Iota will launch on. I'm pretty sure Poloniex will add Iota once it's launched.
I don't know if there is IRC for Iota, there is Ryver though but I don't even know what that is lol.  Grin

Several exchanges has asked us to assist with adding IOTA when it's ready.

And yes we got a Ryver, not IRC. Give me your email and i'll add you.

Don't hesitate, email The Winklevoss bros: hello@gemini.com

Well said, @iotatoken! As an interested noob (and not a daytrader) i´m curious about a thread or slack group discussing about iota and its possibilities.

Please PM iotatoken and he will invite you to the Ryver chat group. Ryver is a group chat app like Slack.

Edit - Everyone who is interested in running nodes, developing apps, and discussing the use cases should PM iotatoken and he will invite you to the Ryver group.

I'm just a big fan of forum / more slow communications then chats.
Chats is good to discuss when to make a meeting in bar to drink some beer.
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: January 04, 2016, 04:43:47 PM
We'll be able to give date soon, right now everyone that bought IOTA, the software, needs to start thinking about what they are going to do with that software. This is the most important part right now and is what we've setup a Ryver for. There are some interesting brainstorming going on and some interesting projects that are adopting it, but I am still getting way too many PMs regarding when it's going to be added to exchanges etc. A lot of these inquiries are from people who want to acquire IOTAs, but also quite a few who is clearly speculating. We're going to deliver the software, but if you're not going to use it, it wont be of any value. Remember this and start thinking about use cases.

I'm gonna send it via two JINN processors, forward and backward Wink

Added: I also have an idea how to use IOTA: the market of used MP3-s and other digital goods.

Sorry for my English, I use translator.

It means that the first two addresses seem somehow connected ( 80 btc is money ), and the second address sent about 3 btc in the address of the crowdsale of iota .

some big fish is watching iota

payment from Wanxiang.

It's very common thing for Vitalik Buterin to get money from everybody. I think Beterin is genius salesman.
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Noteable altcoins? on: December 31, 2015, 08:34:09 AM

Quark - the first chained algo coin
Auroracoin - the first country coin
Bytecoin - first cryptonote coin
Huntercoin - first gamified coin
Bitshares - first tiered membership coin

Man this shit is mindblowing, it really IS the Bitcoin Killler, no fucking shit man!! WOW!!! Shocked

Image IoT processors installed in every device in your house and satellites around the Earth sending UDP packets via IPv6 to sync IOTA software preinstalled in each of them. Now this is mindblowing  Cool

Then we need different infographic for tech guys and for general public.

For general public:
- No need to pay fees.
- No need to download gigabytes of blockchain.
- No need to trust someone.

Very interesting to see how people will react.
I have a suspicion that ethereum smart contracts is not a big deal, just hyped.

We hope to attract more devs to brainstorm and build projects on top of Iota at this stage.

I'd like to see an infographic, something like:

"IOTA - post blockchain era".
  • no blockchain
  • no fees
  • no hard TPS
  • quantum secure
  • lightweight
  • scalable
  • cross-platform

Just to grab some attention.
