It is very cool, but I hope there will be no criminals connected with btc and guns after it

Never going to happen.  Just like everything that is considered currency. The criminal element will always be tied to it.
582  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Nearly burned down my home due to mining farm (tips on how to stay safe ) on: March 18, 2014, 10:03:44 AM
I'm also wondering what insurances would say if a house burned down for mining. I think if a fire
is caused by e. g. a Wifi router or a TV set in standby mode while you are away, this should be a covered
risk by standard fire insurance plans, right? If you start like aluminium smelting operations in your 1-room apt
and max out each and every fuse, then (I guess) this is considered grossly negligent and you don't get a penny..

So, what about small-scale (like something between 1 and 3 kw) mining? Did anyone inquire their insurance
company? Sure, better to prevent a fire in the first place, but I'm really wondering what insurance
companies would say..

I would think they would deny coverage.  It's not like we are using the PSU's as they were designed to be used.  Here in Canada everything has to be CSA approved.  Not sure about anywhere else, but I would think all Countries have similar laws.  I highly doubt any of the equipment meets the safety standards required.

There was no 30$ swing

Well it is only 2:45 am here on the west coast of Canada and the US so he could still possibly be right.  Looks like Bitcoin is on it's way up though. Looks like Litecoin is about to take off as well.

Maybe his friend was confused.  Maybe he confused BTC with LTC and he meant rise instead of dip.
584  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: March 18, 2014, 08:46:29 AM
My god, what a bunch of nonsense. Not even worth debunking, but FWIW, Freescale is a publicly traded company, it doesnt belong to any Rothschild (anymore), it IPO'd in 2011. Moreover patents are filed under the name of company employees, but they belong to the company. Lastly, Freescale is a competitor to ARM (one that isnt doing too well I might add), developing SoC IP, whatever green car patent they came up with is not likely to change the world. What do you think the patent is about, cars running on water or cold fusion?

I wasn't expecting people to take it seriously, but it does make for an interesting theory. Conspiracy or not.  Still though, why put that many from one company on one flight? Seems strange, anyways, if you want to read some interesting theory's, check out Jesse Ventura's Facebook page.

If anything, it makes for some good reading while on the crapper.

"This isnt about you clearing a building as a one man army Haha!  This is about your personal protection, and the protection of your family"

Right ...

That's why they have semi automatic assault rifles that can fire 60 rounds per minute.

Because as we all know, a minimum of 60 bullets sprayed all over the room is necessary to stop a burglar.

-B-

Well if shit ever hits the fan, which I believe it will sooner than later, you are going to need the firepower. Also, criminals don't care about the law, so whats to say he doesn't have a lot more ammo than you do, or perhaps there is more than one.  Criminals are arming themselves to the max while law abiding citizens are supposed to have access to very little comparatively.  This is especially true in Canada.

586  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Nearly burned down my home due to mining equipment failure :( on: March 18, 2014, 07:49:20 AM
Kinda offtopic here, but why is there a usb port on that psu? For monitoring purposes?

If you are referring to the pic the OP posted, that isn't a psu.  It's an Erupter Cube.

The usb port is for debugging and firmware updates.

To the OP, sorry for your loss, but at least it wasn't much worse. I'm only running one cube but I've now placed a smoke detector very close to the cube, just in case.
587  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Red Alert Blockchain.info down on: March 18, 2014, 06:15:39 AM
This is absolutely Red Alert

has blockchain.info now done a runner with funds ?

a message from chief scammer in charge

https://blog.blockchain.com/2014/03/17/current-service-outage/

They do not have unencrypted copies of your private keys.  They can't run off with your coins unless they password attack your wallet data.

If you read the blog entry following that one, it describes how to use multibit to import your wallet backup.

well I would be getting your backup right now booting the wallet and moving the funds, they have heavy links to scammers

anyone got their funds back yet ?

Don't you think you are over reacting a little?

I know it's been down almost all day, but jumping the gun and calling them scammers is a little much, or do you have proof otherwise?

Just because you roll the dice 10k times doesn't mean you'll win one. Every time you roll you have a 1 in 10,000 chance of winning. The odds don't change based on the amount of rolls.
Is there is anyone who rolled 10,000 just curious ..! because I never rolled more then 9887

I've been using the site for a couple months now on and off.

I can't remember what the highest I rolled was now, but i won .00285 or something close to that. It was in the 9994 - 9997 range. I've rolled in the 9986 - 9993 a few times also.  The biggest way to earn seems to be through referrals.  I have 8 as of now and they've earned me just over .0018 in coins.

Do I think a person actually has a 1 in 10000 chance to roll a 10000?  Probably not, but who knows.

If I ever get 10,000 or anything high again, I'll post it here.
590  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 0.01 BTC Giveaway on: March 18, 2014, 03:46:53 AM
I don't think OP is still active guys...

Almost surely this was a throwaway account. He posted 2 times and then left.

I'm bored of catching this thread in the front page, really.

According to his 2nd post, he is still active. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=495667.msg5459751#msg5459751

Last Edit: Mar 17, at 08:45 PM (UTC)

Also, according to his profile: Last Active:    March 17, 2014, 08:44:42 PM

I have noticed the OP took the "All" option away for looking at the thread a day or so ago though.  This could go on for ages.

**Edit**

Clarification from the OP. He didn't delete the "All " feature, It disappears after a thread hit so many pages apparently, makes sense I guess.

he said 16th +- 2 days LOL. but anyway, the west coast has barely begun the 16th. I think it has just kicked off anyhow. Stamp has outlined a nice wedge, it will break out soon one way or the other  Grin

Well it's now almost 3pm on the west coast of Canada. sitting at $622USD. No real movement so far.
593  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: March 16, 2014, 09:39:21 PM
Well this is an interesting conspiracy on the whole thing:

Malaysia Plane Crash: 20 All-Electric Car-Linked Green Tech Passengers On Board, Names Released

Via Tiffany Dtastic

Four days after the missing flight MH370 a patent is approved
by the Patent Office

4 of the 5 Patent holders are Chinese employees of Freescale Semiconductor of Austin TX.

Patent is divided up on 20% increments to 5 holders.

Peidong Wang, Suzhou, China, (20%)
Zhijun Chen, Suzhou, China, (20%)
Zhihong Cheng, Suzhou, China, (20%)
Li Ying, Suzhou, China, (20%)
Freescale Semiconductor (20%)

If a patent holder dies, then the remaining holders
equally share the dividends of the deceased if not
disputed in a will.

If 4 of the 5 dies, then the remaining 1 Patent holder
gets 100% of the wealth of the patent.

That remaining live Patent holder is Freescale Semiconductor.

Who owns Freescale Semiconductor ??

Jacob Rothschild through Blackstone who owns Freescale.

Here is your motive for the missing Beijing plane.
As all 4 Chinese members of the Patent were
passengers on the missing plane.

Patent holders can alter the proceeds legally by
passing wealth to their heirs. However, they cannot
do so until the Patent is approved. So when the plane
went missing, the patent had not been approved.
Thus, Rothschild gets 100% of Patent once Patent
holders declared deceased.

--------------------------------------------

Kinda strange, why would they have that many staff on the same flight?  I thought that was a big no no because of possibilities such as this.
594  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: March 14, 2014, 11:38:33 PM
I dont understand how in this day and age a Boeing 777 can drop out of the sky and leave no clues as to where it is.

I see a bunch of speculation from the news agencies regarding the Iranian passengers who used stolen passports to board the plane bla bla bla.

I wonder if its possible that the plane was hijacked, and then was flown low enough as to not appear on radar and landed in some hatred filled country. Like North Korea for example.

Is this possible?

Anyone here have any ideas on what might have happened here. I fly a lot and its beyond me that this can happen.

There's no mystery. It's only the media that makes it out to become a mystery. Anything could've happened. What's for sure is that it crashed at sea, and most likely everyone on board is dead. When a plane vanish, it usually crashed. Nothing mysterious about it. As for loss of radio contact, there could be countless reasons for it. The electronics might've died for whatever reason. No mystery here.

No Mystery? Why are peoples cell phones still ringing? Why have they been shown to connect and the disconnect from social media? Something is not right here.  Interesting how this plane crash has taken most of the media attention away from the problems in the Ukraine.

If anyone is interested, and has spare time to stare at photos of empty ocean, there's a crowd sourcing effort to trawl through satellite images of one of the search areas. Yesterday they were showing a set from March 9, today they are showing images from March 12.

It can be found at https://www.digitalglobe.com/ top of the page.

At least now if people are complaining "I wish I could do something" you can send them there.

The average Joe does have time to waste for such an activity.
I don't.

I agree, but the option is there for those that want to spend their time doing that.

It's actually an interesting concept.  They did it for a missing hiker on one of our local mountains.  They released tonnes of satellite imagery to the public.  They did get a bunch of tips that didn't pan out, but it was worth a shot. At this point, anything is worth a shot.  Even though I doubt there will be a happy ending to this story.

Did you really make a thread on an internet forum to try and get gratification from strangers about some chick that is only with you because of your apparent coins/wealth?

How pathetic.
597  Other / Off-topic / Re: So I just noticed that I'm a "hero member" now... on: March 13, 2014, 09:01:59 PM
Posts don't matter. It's the activity level.
I'm almost at 6000 posts and still not a Hero Member.
Do you just have to stay online for a long time? Huh
I understand the concept but not the specifics.
There is a formula, it takes a long time (1 year+ usually I believe).

The formula is listed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0

Basically, you can only get a max of 14 activity for every 2 weeks of active posting. I believe to be considered active it's like a post a week or so.

If you look at the OP profile, they signed up in May 2011. So it takes a long time to get there.

Hey Doc!

Just been reading about huntercoin, it's SHA256 merge minable and based off namecoin, so it sounds to me like it would be super simple to add (Seeing as how you are very experienced with namecoin and have had one of the longer running namecoin merge pools)

I believe it might even bring a bunch of hashpower onto the pool if you were the first to add it.

Very unique concept anyway, and I'm sure we'd all love to get in on it while difficulty relatively low.

http://huntercoin.org/how-to-mine/hardware/

got no skin in the game yet, it just popped right out and appealed to me as standing out from the usual garbage alts.

Anyway, please would you at least look into it, thanks,

Flashman

adding a merged coin may help.  also remember that short term a small pool can have 2x or 3x the earnings.  just as easy as 2 or  3   96% percent blocks.

we should make a block about every 10 hours.   but if we pop just 3 blocks a day for 3 days that is good luck. as it would be 9 blocks in  72 hours.  instead of about 7 blocks.

I was at btcguild for a while but I decided to switch back . I have around 720gh added back in the form of 4 ant s-1's

I also purchased red jockey undershirt and t-shirt just to wear for this pool.  may the luck be with us.

Well there's the problem, you should have purchased green.   Grin
599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Guru Thread on: March 13, 2014, 04:02:37 AM
1. $676
2. 4/29/14

15DYJpWJe9H1YofsNQbP9JEWWNn7XPZgbS

$800 will take a while but I don't think we will go down below $500
BTC is stuck resting and things will/should stay quiet for a while.

At this point, that will be the best thing that could happen to Bitcoin.  Far too much turmoil over the last little while. It's like BTC just finished a tough 12 round fight and it was a split decision with Bitcoin winning. It needs some time off to recover and heal.

As for the topic on hand:

1. $690
2. 4/20/14

I cant believe this jet is still missing, people are online, phones are working. It's getting to the point where I'm starting to believe they really are in North Korea, probably forced to take the "tour" and then back on the bus.

Check this out ...worker on Oil Rig worker saw it burn ...emailed about it officials days ago........

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2014/03/13/05/50/new-zealand-man-mike-mckay-saw-missing-plane-come-down-in-flames

Its been days since this dude reported seeing the plane burn and 12 hours since the chinese confirmed debris via sattelitle near the oil rig dude coordinates.

Why the fuck no jet has been scrambled to check? Its like they want this plane and everyone in it to fucking drown. Something is not right

If the plane was burning and going down, it would be nothing but a recovery mission anyway.  I do agree though, something isn't right with all this.  It's smelled fishy from the get go and it's only getting worse.  The conspiracy theory's that come out of this should be entertaining.
