581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Education on: October 24, 2022, 07:15:00 PM
I think awareness is more important rather then education if a person knows there is something called crypto and there is Bitcoin which can be future money then the person Is going to Educate himself on his own efforts. Open up a college or institute to crypto and the neighbors don't even know there is something called BTC.

Dude agreed youth need be educated for the Crypto...
But
Awareness is the First step and Education second step.

Yup exactly. Education was needed for those who are negative, misinformed or uninformed, but awareness is perfect for those who didn't heard about Bitcoin, crypto, etc.

Like in my case, a college friend of mine reached out to me on what I usually do for a living. I just told him that I am into Bitcoin and crypto industry, and he asked me if it was really good or not. Meaning to say based on my assessment, he isn't aware about it. But I responded that it was really great and been doing this for 5 years without convincing or forcing him to check it out.

At least I let him aware. But if he wants to know more about it, that's where education comes next.
582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mnemonic is no longer safe? on: October 23, 2022, 10:42:19 AM
Just want to share, I can't prove that mnemonic safe or not.  I'm not an expert for things like that.

My friend just got hacked, lost about 300-400 USD.

He wonder how it happened, make some probably the device was infiltrated by malware, if yes. All his key is gone(all), so there's no only 1.

He was generated Mnemonic by coin98. Never connected to MetaMask or some things like login to connected, never.

Like I said I'm not an expert, just want to share. make this thread as archive in case there solved or new case found.

If the account was created on a hot wallet even if it's non-custodial like Metamask, Trust Wallet, etc., hackers can drain your assets without the need of seed or mnemonic phrases if you accidentally click a malware. That's the biggest and hardest lesson that I have learned several months ago where I did not do my due diligence where I have clicked the malware inside the PDF accidentally and my $12k+ worth of crypto assets goes bye2x.

However if you have a hardware wallet like Ledger Nano S, Trezor, SafePal, SecuX, etc., safety is no question as the wallet was created offline.
583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would the world be if Bitcoin wasn't created on: October 23, 2022, 10:37:07 AM
To be honest without Bitcoin, I would remain broke until today. And not just that, I would remain a complete disappointment to my family by not being financially secured. Although video games and travel are always my true passions in life, but both cannot make a difference for me if I wasn't into crypto.

I was a network marketer for years and remained a big disappointment. Was searching for greener pastures from here and there until I decided to go all-in on crypto and it worked! It turned my life around until today despite the numerous ups and downs I have in my life. It surpassed what I have achieved in my previous career.
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn aside from bounty campaign and airdrop on: October 22, 2022, 05:29:04 PM
Aside from typical bounty campaign and airdrop. Now the hype change to incentivized testnets. There are some projects who are testing out their platform and able to give some free token during launch. Actually this isnt new anymore as it being done in the past. Gonna share some of the projects  Ive done on testing. Dont have tokens and the task are not too hard but some are long process.

This is also a risk approach. We dont know whether they are really gotta give up some tokens so my advice is use all dummy accounts for this. Like dummy wallet or any email in case they ask for one. We dont want to compromise our wallets with asset. Not a financial advise but if you want to try then feel free to search on your own. Sharing below the list of the projects Ive done the task with for possible testnet rewards.

Incentivized testnet projects.

1. Sei network - ✅
2. Jump protocol - ✅
3. Prime protocol - ✅
4. Diva Protocol - ✅
5. 1kx Protocol - ✅
6. Dotbit domain - ✅
7. Zetachain - ✅
8. Harbor Protocol - ✅
9. Mintsquare - ✅
10. Shardeum - ✅
11. Ragnar Protocol - ✅
12. Deepwaterxyz - ✅
13. Argo Protocol - ✅
14. Sisu Network - ✅
15. Swapped Finance - ✅
16. Commodo Finance - ✅

There are more but I not doing some that I feel not worth my time and looks very scam.

DISCLAIMER:Not affiliated on any of these projects. Just sharing here in case you are looking for a reward task like bounty and airdrop. Im not confident too if there possible scam to that but I checked their social and details and looks good. But of course its always better to be cautious so like I said only used new wallets or dummy email accounts or any important things not to connect with for these kind of tasks rewards thing.

The only time that I've been doing these is when a project reaches out to me for a video review that needs me to do a demo via their testnet. To be honest, I have never done these kinds of testnet opportunities like Aptos but yeah I regret that I didn't do before in which it would give us extra money like in airdrops and bounties.

And I really appreciate that you shared this to us. Because there's an influencer that I followed that he dropped 3 alpha testnets on his Discord server but needs us to have a supporter badge to access it. No disrespect, but it is something that I didn't like from that influencer.

But with you being so generous for sharing this without expecting anything in return is something that I am really thankful and grateful for. And of course, I will just use my dummy wallet for these testnets, not my main ones.

Yes everything has risks like this one whether if it's a success or not. But no risk, nothing happens. Like in airdrops and bounties, we also take risks in spending lots of time finishing tasks without knowing whether if that project is going to pay us or not. I like taking chances despite that assuming most of them would not pay us our rewards.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is due for a big break on: October 22, 2022, 07:39:22 AM
In order to make it happen, they need to create a big hype like what Elon Musk did to the entire crypto market as BTC, ETH and DOGE soar to their ATH's back then respectively.

Since Charlie Lee has left and abandoned Litecoin, there must be somebody out there who has a very big influence like Elon Musk and has strong belief in Litecoin who can make this altcoin soar.

But the sad reality is that Litecoin is just another altcoin, as most of us are now focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum's prices to soar once again in the long run.
586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is crypto hot wallet that bad on: October 22, 2022, 07:30:52 AM
Are there others on this forum that have been using the likes of Trust wallet since many years back and never get compromised?.
Trust wallet is safe compared to other multi crypto supported wallet and you can use any wallet that is completely open source and non custodial for storage of cryptocurrencies whether its long term or short term. The chances of wallet get compromised is to lose the security of seed phrase and it really depends on every individual who created that wallet.

And if you know your crypto portfolio value is too big to trust the all the wallets available for free then surely getting a right hardware wallet will be a better choice.

Ain't safe if you aren't careful like accidentally downloading a malware, trojan horse or any suspicious files without installing and activating the antivirus. Both my Metamask and Trust Wallet are compromised last April 2022 for not doing my due diligence back then by downloading a ZIP file that contains a malware that I accidentally clicked. I lost approximately $12k+ worth of crypto assets in those affected wallets.

Hardware wallet is always the best bet to store our crypto assets safely as its created offline and cannot be hacked (unless you're stupid enough to enter your seed phrases somewhere online).
587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: Bitcoin was $64k today, a year ago. on: October 22, 2022, 07:25:55 AM
Anytime the price of an asset or commodity shoots straight up vertical producing 10x+ returns, it's a good time to sell.

Let this be a lesson to anyone new to crypto, not to get greedy.

I didn't bought from the top. I've just regretted letting go of BTC too early when it was around $12k when it suddenly pumped to $30k by the end of 2020. I was even hesitant to buy because I am hoping for it to go down again to at least $15k, but instead it shoot up to $60k+.

With my extra money every month, I just put a percentage of it to DCA with Bitcoin and also adding Ethereum as well. I just don't know when will it be going up again but I always believe that the best time to build and accumulate wealth is when things are going quiet like the bear market we have nowadays.

Kaya sa Facebook feed ko umiingay na naman ang mga braggers. Nag "thank you Lord", "not to brag but to inspire" at "my wall, my rules" pa nga while bina-brag ang kanyang Aptos earnings na ni convert sa BUSD. Hilig sila talaga sa mga ganito na mag brag sa earnings nils rather than celebrating it silently.

Di sila marunung mag stay low key. Pero there will be other airdrops pa naman na matindi like Aptos. And speaking of Aptos, they still have a couple of incentivized testnet events na pwede pa naten salihan at ma gain possible rewards like sa previous Aptos airdrop.

hayaan mo na, first time nila siguro maka hawak or makakuha ng ganung halaga.

Not all first timers. I see some na dati malaki rin nakuha nila at bina brag sa public. Hanggang ngayun ganun pa rin sila. Newbie or not, allergic ako sa mga taong nag brag ng mga "millions" nila.

Eh ang karma naman dyan is dumami naman ang mag reach out sa kanila at mag pa utang na walang guarantee kung kailan magbayad. Those same people rin who bragged their "millions" ang nag hugot sa kanilang timeline na shoutout daw sa mga taong hindi nagparamdam after pinahiram ng pera.

Kaya ako even if assuming na nag participate ako sa Aptos, I'll just keep silent and staying low key. Never ako nag brag publicly sa mga kinikita ko kahit sa airdrops, bounty, testnet, etc.

590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETH price keeps decreasing? on: October 21, 2022, 04:36:55 AM
Hi everyone. I'd like to get your take on this since I'm not really sure what am I missing here.

Although one would anticipate that the price of ETH should increase given that the supply has decreased by over 5,500 since last Saturday, for some reason, ETH prices haven't exactly seen the coresponding price boost despite lowered supply.

Why hasn't this had a beneficial effect on the price of ETH?

Original source:

https://twitter.com/thetokenist/status/1580532690360872961

https://tokenist.com/ethereum-turns-deflationary-but-drops-7-as-market-stays-uncertain/

Just like what I have assessed, ETH's merge news will only increase the price temporarily before it got corrected once again. As what others have mentioned here, the crypto market seems to be quiet due to the ongoing bearish trend.

Right now we are sitting between $1,200+ to $1,300+ on ETH price. As long there is nothing new that would definitely hype the entire crypto market, expect that this would be a very long bear market.

There are many reasons and factors on why newbies are getting banned. But the most common of them all is by not following the rules and regulations of the forum.

Once they have violated such things like plagiarism, spamming or anything that is against the forum, for sure they will get banned. Not just temporary ban, but a permaban.
592  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why DCA Strategy on: October 19, 2022, 07:27:20 PM
Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) is an investment strategy that is considered by many as a good and simple strategy, and widely in use by investors. It entails investing a given amount of money in a particular security for a given period of time regardless of price. Why most investors consider this strategy is a thing of curiosity.

You may want to know, it helps you develop self discipline (esp as a newbie) while considering the market and your tolerance to risk. Emotion can play a substantial trick in disadvantaging investment decisions. DCA can counter this impact.

Another good thing is that it lessens the impact of volatility as the total investment sum is spread over multiple purchases of the security.  This strategy can be very effective if employed during bearish market.

Lastly, the strategy can be applied in any crypto investment, bonds, stocks or any commodities. It's a fine choice! However, you can always stick to what is best for you as an individual.

I've been doing DCA since May 2022 with Bitcoin. As long I can afford every month, I can DCA at least a percentage of my monthly earnings to Bitcoin in order to build and accumulate wealth.

I really don't mind about the price of Bitcoin right now because I am thinking long-term despite the uncertainties of the market these days. They say that the best time to accumulate is when things are going quiet, but that's not always the case. Even if so, I would still buy BTC with my extra "not beer" money.
593  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Pepper Attack - Play & earn turn-based strategy NFT game on: October 18, 2022, 12:36:22 PM

I agree with you regarding sa risky investment only if ang mindset mo is truly ROI and not the fun part.

Kaya ako as a gamer, I do not mind dahil I loved the game and having the mindset like what I have noon na hardcore gamer sa non-NFT games hehe.
Ok din ang point mo, Dami ko din nagastos sa mga Non-NFT games nuon kagaya ng LOL , Dota and even sa valorant ngayon pero ang nakakapag separate para sa sakin sa non-nft games and sa nft games is yung game quality and ofcourse interaction sa mga friends natin. Iba din kasi pag pwede mo ipagmayabang yung ingame purchase mo sa mga tropa mo, I get it naman na pwede mo ipagmayabang to sakanila pero sure ako na hindi lahat sakanila is gusto yung larong to kaya mostly saatin is tinetreat ang NFT game as an investment.

Just imagine if yung mga nilalaro natin na non-nft games eh nag convert as an NFT game! I'm pretty sure na sobrang solid nun!

Yes kaya ang “play to earn” term is already wrong in the first place dahil hindi yan sustainable. Even Axie Infinity hindi exempted dyan because of this term alone. Mali kasi ang mindset na ginawa ni Axie Infinity saten na instead for fun and entertainment, ginawa nila itong ecosystem as something na magbabago buhay naten. Kaya ang play to earn is misleading to be honest.

It clearly destroys the true purpose of building games like this which the hype has started with Axie and created a domino effect on the crypto gaming industry.

Play & earn is way more different than play to earn. Ito dapat ang term na at least gagamitin ng mga NFT games, in which the mindset of gamers would not treat this as an investment.

Kaya slowly we have to change the narrative. Dapat it’s time for these games to be what they really made of and that is fun and entertainment (with the option to earn crypto and sell NFTs freely in the open market).

Mas mabuti ito kaysa World of Warcraft or any similar game na pinagbawalan ka mag benta account, item, etc., that would get your account at risk of getting banned.

Natawa naman ako dito pero upon checking, chili pepper nga siguro ang basis nila, with their name and yung game design.

Hesitant na ako maginvest sa mga P2E games and I don’t know if it’s really worth it or not?
Haven’t heard this game before, may promotions ba sila dito sa forum? Ilang months or years kaya ang ROI nito para sa mga nakapagtry na?

You are hesitant because ang mindset mo is to earn and not for fun and entertainment.

From time to time nung pag start hype ni Axie parang okay pa yun temporarily until na dumami na ang influx of players (especially sa Philippines), the devs are forced to adjust the reward pool from time to time until nawala na tuloy ang earning side sa adventure mode.

I say it’s worth it pag ang mindset is gamer and not as an investor mindset looking for ROI. Just my opinion lang boss.

594  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Youtube Scam in Action on: October 18, 2022, 12:19:57 PM
Nothing new to me. I always do my due diligence by verifying it to the real admins of a certain project in their respective official social media channels like Telegram, Twitter, Discord, etc.

It’s just that newbies and beginners are more prone to this as they are focusing on the video alone rather than checking the Youtube description first.

However, if the links are cloaked with URL shorteners like bit.ly, I wouldn’t still bother clicking it as I am going to manually verify it to the admins of the project’s official social media channels.
595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now is the perfect time to invest in Bitcoin on: October 18, 2022, 12:16:00 PM
Technically I would believe about the best time to buy BTC or any crypto is when things are going quiet like what we are right now. But that’s not always the case.

There are no guarantees or promises about the price movement whether if it goes up or down at any moment without warning. So in reality there’s no perfect time to buy Bitcoin or any crypto. Even if you are referring to those bear and bull run seasons, there’s no guarantee that it would or wouldn’t happen.

Always expect the unexpected.
596  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Buying Positive reviews!! on: October 17, 2022, 12:45:21 PM
It’s unethical to be honest for a startup company to pay for fake reviews. In order to succeed, taking shortcuts isn’t the right strategy at all.

It’s better to have organic reviews from real customers. Every business has risks, but not in the wrong way like buying fake reviews and testimonials. It’s better for you to ask anyone who is available to try your service.

Maybe choose a few to test out your product for free in exchange for an honest and genuine review. Although it’s challenging at first, but it’s really worth it in the end. Hadrwork pays off, not taking shortcuts. Just saying.

I have been very busy which makes me not to post this very early as it was last week news. Just that it is still very much worth it to post this.

More than 30% of Canadians plan to purchase crypto by 2024, says OSC head

Some people said a period of time will shock people when the price of bitcoin will no more rise using the 4 years cycle. Some even said that bitcoin market is matured already that this bull run trends may not become possible by 2024. But the good news is, you should still believe in bitcoin, it will not disappoint you in the next cycle.

According to Ontario Securities Commission head, the chief executive officer, Grant Vingoe, he said that they know from their research that 30% of Canadians are willing to invest in crypto asset by 2024.

Quote
“We know from our own research (being published later this month) that more than 30 per cent of Canadians plan to buy crypto assets in the next year [...] It is a challenge to bar non-compliant firms from offering services in Canada. With a limited budget and finite Enforcement staff to cover our entire capital markets, there is only so much we can do. But we are making progress.”

I believe if this kind of research is conducted in many other countries, more people will want to invest in crypto by 2024. And what should we expect by that time and 2025? Bull run.

As much as I love to see that come true in Canada, these are just predictions. Nobody knows what exactly would happen in 2024. We’re imagining about the future, but there are no guarantees and promises if that certain event would likely happen.

But what I am really looking forward nowadays is the much-anticipated Bitcoin halving that would happen in 2024. Regardless of the result, no guarantees that the price will go to the moon afterward. Although in the past halving periods that BTC indeed got up to its all-time highs, hype is still we need to make it pump like the other coins and tokens.

599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you choose cryptocurrency as full time job? on: October 16, 2022, 01:14:27 PM
We are in a world people desire to work in oil company, banking firm and while others choose to in different organizations been a corporate office jobs just to answer am working in so so company, but can you choose crypto as full time corporate job?
I'm not really sure how to answer this but yes you can example like working on exchange or writting some blog or making video about crypto, The other way was working as Blockchain developer on some sector like Oil, Market, Food, etc and also being a lawyer or even marketing on some blockchain-based company

I am still in the crypto industry working various gigs as a freelance ambassador, KOL, video content creator, etc. I didn’t have a full time work now as I am hevaily relying on my freelance gigs in the crypto space. How I wish I could be employed by a crypto company or startup full-time at least.

There is one crypto NFT metaverse startup who offered me a full-time job, but they have yet to decide to schedule a meeting with me. Hopefully we could have some sort of an agreement before accepting the role in working with them.

After reading so many theories, Analysis and the powers of crypto currency in a nation's economy, the greater impact it will bring to developed and fast developing countries. I began to wonder why is crypto currency not accepted in some area's and organization of the world, can we characterized this as lack of information, and awareness to the people. If this be the case, Can we find a way to adopted Crypto Currency as a Subject and integrate it into our school curriculum, or better still as topic and integrate it into Economy's. This has been on my mind, And I honestly need your contribution and your thoughts towards this. I honestly think crypto currency, BTC and ETH for example. Should be adopted globally and accepted by everyone. Thanks

Although I would love to see Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to be included in the school curriculum, but I think it shouldn’t be a main subject. It can be under Finance subject. Blockchain however is a different one, which can be considered a main one due to its use case and fundamentals.

I would rather see a subject called “Financial Literacy” in a lot of universities in which they can include Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, etc., as sub-topics. Just my honest opinion guys.
