581  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Consequences of operating as MTL if operation outside of the USA on: October 22, 2013, 08:39:54 PM
The OP isn't a sovereign nation, he doesn't have a seat on the UN security counsel, and he doesn't have enough nuclear weapons to wipe out the human race.  So comparing him to Russian oil reserves is kinda silly right?
Russian govt protects national businesses and its owners, also don't forget what US-Russia relationships are now. I cannot even find at least 1 case where Russia forfeited some company's assets on its own territory with request of US court.

BTW, BTC-E is Russian exchange and magically it haven't any legal troubles. If you are concerned about legal issues may be just follow it's example Wink

As for what can the federal government do to foreign entities with absolutely no assets in the US .... as much as they want.
Really? Shocked It looks insane that U.S. authorities can seize any property around the world! What, for example, Uncle Sam can now accuse Russia for violation some regulation and declare Russia's oil reserves as U.S. property? Grin

No, should I?
If you live in Russia, why should you report to U.S. govt agency...?! Grin
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 280X or HD 7970 on: October 19, 2013, 04:09:31 PM
R9 280X has better price/performance ratio.

Can you please explain more?
I haven't tested these GPUs myself, but from reviews it seems to be true.

Quote
The Radeon R9 280X is selling for $300, which is cheaper than most of the Radeon HD 7970s on the market, despite clock rates closer to the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition.

I hope you understand how difficult it is to get a prize on your site...  Embarrassed
If you look at Prizes page and refresh the main page only when the prize is available your chances are much better!
588  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Swiss to vote on 2,500 franc basic income for every adult on: October 18, 2013, 02:00:42 AM
And yes, this would cause prices to rise, whether due to inflation or not. A basic caffe that had, let's say, one waiter, one cook, and one janitor, will unlikely lower the wages for the cook and the waiter, but will now have to raise wages to be able to hire janitors. Total costs go up, price of products has to go up for them to stay in business, too.
May be it will add incentive to rollout automation and robotics without raising prices. Robots' prices fall rapidly, I think "hardware substitutes" for janitors and waiters you mentioned will be more affordable than worker's wages within next 5-10 years.

Still waiting on the outcome of Chinese Socialism should take another 100-200 years since China likes to scale on long timeframes
My digitalized brain will observe the outcome XD
Chinese govt have abandoned socialism for previous 30 years since Deng Xiaoping reforms. Current model is more like to "wild capitalism" with almost no welfare, income disparity and low wages.

I am very upset about cut rate I was long time working on this now thinking to drop this idea  Sad
As said before, I have added more custom prizes to compensate contraction of the booby prize. Unfortunately I had no other choice because advertisers plan their budgets mostly in fiat currencies and reduce CPC rates when BTC price goes up.
592  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: October 16, 2013, 04:00:30 AM
We had to adjust booby prize's size according to the increased BTC/USD price. Much more custom prizes available now!

I have heard that cheating is common in Counter-strike. With real prizes (BTC) incentive only bots will be playing IMHO Grin!

Even if your opponent is some chess playing software...? Shocked Grin
596  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Sites With Investment Functions: PLAYER & INVESTOR BEWARE on: October 13, 2013, 09:20:52 PM
It's time for JD to incorporate in Costa Rica and prevent US play/investing and change from .com
Preventing U.S. IP addresses is really stupid, FBI guys are not idiots don't aware about proxies. Think better about hosting and domain in U.S.-"unfriendly" jurisdiction like Russia (Liberty Reserve example have shown that Costa Rica isn't safe haven anymore).
597  Other / Politics & Society / Re: are UK companies subject to USA laws? on: October 13, 2013, 03:05:04 PM
Most of what i intend will be perfectly legal in all countries with no need for any regulations/registrations, my only concern is that if i offer Shares in my business/website, will there be any regulations i need to abide by (firstly in the UK, and secondly in other countries. And hopefully these regulations will not be vastly different in the US). where required i will abide by these regulations.
Again, you should not care about abiding laws of every country in the world, it is absurdly! Following this logic, you should cease all business operations because private entrepreneurship may be illegal entirely in some countries like Cuba and North Korea, so Kim Jong-un may ask your extradition Grin
598  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Wow Mining hashrate just broke 2 PH/s according to Blockchain.info on: October 13, 2013, 02:57:53 PM
Sooner or later, they will be producing ASIC by the PH/s....
Of course if Moore's law will continue for a long time, which is very unlikely...
599  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: October 13, 2013, 02:36:43 PM
This faucet sucks payout too low
Have you seen higher payouts anywhere!? I don't think so... We are giving away 80-90% of ads revenue to the users now.
BTW, most users collect these micro prizes in hope that 1 BTC will ever cost $1000...$10K..$100K.
600  Other / Politics & Society / Re: are UK companies subject to USA laws? on: October 12, 2013, 07:49:05 PM
I don't know about UK, but most countries will not extradite from their territory if an act committed is not an offense in this country. For example, if Germany resident was charged in the Saudi Arabia for drinking alcohol or out-marriage sex and runned back to Germany, he will not be extradited.

So, you should abide laws of your own country. If you travel to the U.S., don't hope that IP blocking will save you from prosecution (FBI could just visit your service through proxy and collect enough evidence against you).
