581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💸💸💸 【ChronoBank】 🌟🌟🌟 【ICO】 💸💸💸 on: November 25, 2016, 05:03:28 PM
Is there not a gift Twiiter or Facebook Huh

Not, yet as far as I can see. I expect there will be one - maybe like Incent on the viral exchange, perhaps.
I guess we will have to keep checking post #2 in this thread. It makes sense that you wouldn't want to hype something on social media until the something is actually happening!  Cheesy

Unfortunately I don't take my own advice - I found the website and am extremely interested in this project, to say the least. I joined slack and found the team very friendly, knowledgeable and approachable - then I forgot to keep checking BCT for an ANN update and missed the start of the bounties! (Busy with waves testnet in run up to FN release.) Cheesy

I am genuinely scared about our future here...

Maybe you need to get out more!  Grin

Seriously though, this coin (or the protocol it is based on) has been anticipated for YEARS on this forum. Given the slow POW start and all the hype - it's little wonder that zec got pumped to the moon. However, ignoring the overall BTC volume, most of the silly prices were a result of very small BTC transactions. We will get a better idea how the dust will settle come January when the block rewards are normal and there is much more zec liquidity.
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many Zcash coins actually exist? on: October 29, 2016, 01:34:28 AM
Does anyone know
1. How many Zcash coins exist now?
2. What the total supply will be?

138 at the time of posting

https://explorer.zcha.in/

Total supply roughly similar to that of Bitcoin

584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ZCash Mining Guide on: October 28, 2016, 07:05:04 PM
Something strange..
Was mining for 2 hour, no luck then a block came in. Checked balance and apparently have 13788 ZECs!  Shocked genoil 0.3.2
woot!

now confirmed

You mean you received 13788 ZECs?Huh?

Indeed. Started from a virgin wallet with 0 ZEC.
Are they having super blocks? Checked and it was the wallet, not the pool.

Wow - just saw price on poloniex! Heading over there  Tongue

586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for coins with integrated decentralized markets on: October 23, 2016, 08:08:20 PM
and why you need that kind coin?

Why not?

Quote
- Open Source
- true anonymity (in market and coin exchange)
- Integrated decentralized Market

It makes total sense to ask for these three things or none of them.

I guess for such a coin to have some degree of trust it would have to be based on an existing, reliable and trusted public ledger platform - preferably with the same highly regarded devs who can be trusted to make the hidden ledger releases.
587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARDR, a good investment ? on: October 18, 2016, 10:08:14 AM
i've the same doubt... beside ardor ann topic i dont see nobody talking about it...
is it that bad?

Nxt, a nice system btw, had the original organic networking effect. Built a vibrant community. All was well until the devs went rogue and picked fights with community, changed the fees, changed the way the code worked, refused to add backwards support and now split up nxt to a new project and changed the name.

It was very easy for nxt to standout as there wasn't many altcoins, now ardor is a needle in a haystack. Ardor threw away a few years worth of marketing to start from scratch.

The good news is that nxt isn't being deaded and most likely will have a revival in the future, hopefully with a new dev that is less a dictator and more a leader. Cause it seems to me that Ardor is hedging itself based upon devs past performance, well it is a double edged sword, and maybe the new ideas are neat however the dev has a history of not working well with people. And isn't that what you are really investing in, people?

You make it sound like Ardor is a totally separate rage quit fork of NXT. Why then do NXT state that NXT will only receive guaranteed maintenance for 1 year after Ardor is released?
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RISE | Building Mutli-Language App Development Environments on: October 09, 2016, 04:30:56 PM
Did RiseGal quit or get laid off?

*rises from the dead* Nope, still here. Had a family emergency, sorry for the lack of communication. So glad y'all missed me though.

I hope everything is ay-ok with you.  Smiley
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Zcash? on: September 29, 2016, 11:01:33 AM
unless I'm mistaken Monero is a fork of Bytecoin

Correct!

and 2 years later I would not call it a fork anymore it is its own coin.

Subjective - but I would not disagree.

However the post quoted mentioned Bytecoin - no mention of Monero. If folk want to rewrite history at least obfuscate your sources!  Cheesy
590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Zcash? on: September 29, 2016, 10:02:00 AM
The more I read about Zcash the more I think its totally overhyped.
what would make sense is a Zcash sidechain over Monero core.

If my memory serves maxwell mentioned Bytecoin, not Monero.  Tongue

Damm! Will probably get more trust spammed by the Monerologists.  Huh
591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the bitmonero/monero Ninjalaunched Cripplemined Fastmine matters on: August 25, 2016, 11:32:33 AM
All the interesting coins have 'history', legends and myths!
As with all good trolls and FUDs there is usually some glimmer of truth out there.
The question is; does the team/community have what it takes to learn from the past and embrace transparency now in the present?

One has to look at where a coin/dev team/community is now. History is done with. If a coin is right for now, is autonomous and distributed  and breaks through noone gives a stuff about history lessons. Just watch Ardor!  Grin
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin has the best PoS solution? on: August 22, 2016, 05:09:47 PM
Its not the first time I am creating such thread, but the tech is changing and surely there are people who knows more about it. Please share your thoughts (and researches).

P.S. I beg you not to turn this thread into a PoW>PoS war and remain on-topic.

Piggy is a pretty good POS coin - 3%. Not seen much dev lately but did have a professional dev team tweak the POS aspects and is traded on Polo. Recently it saw a 10 fold jump and has stayed in this price territory. Hobo is also well known but I don't know if trans is still on board with dev.

I would be interested to see the page on wikipedia being extended and updated, also!
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get a payment processor for DigitalNote (help)? on: August 22, 2016, 05:02:29 PM
Please help guys.

I am interested in this also. Monero guys could probably guide you in this but probably won't if you tell them that you want this for DigitalNote purposes. I could be wrong - it just depends on whether you stumble onto a fluffy or a smooth! You could be economical with the truth and say you want to provide Monero services. Any differences would be trivial. But you would face the wrath of the Monerologists if you got found out!

Also the folks on bytecointalk would probably be more willing to help, knowing that you are a DigitalNote guy, and I would guess that as time moves on the DigitalNote API will resemble that of Bytecoin much more than Monero anyways! Having said that I think the Monero integration community is pretty large - probably second to BTC itself.
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Monero replace Bitcoin soon? on: August 22, 2016, 04:50:45 PM
Monero's sole value proposition is privacy, whilst important, is such a small portion of the market. Most people will only need to use this once in a while and for particular services.

It will never come close to replacing btc as it cannot support economic/commercial financial models or mainstream adoption.

Small portion of market will be now... but once everyone and their mother knows EVERY FKN Transaction is saved for all eternety things will shift... i donīt see people stating their bank account in the public too...

I agree. The game changer will be something like WAVES or Ardor (NXT2.0) - when these get established everyone will use one of a few anonymous cryptos for various reasons mentioned earlier. Some coins will be used as a store of wealth (POS), some coins will be used for small or regular transactions (fast update and scaling blocks) and some, for moving all this around will be anonymous. It's likely Monero will be one of these.

Yep! The same old M.O.

Multiple tired, old, useless self-moderated Monero threads being pumped by shills on Altcoin Discussion.

Dash just hard forked and people aren't sure which chains are the successor.  Sad  Shocked

poor old dash

It's up 7.5% on CoinMarketCap!!  Roll Eyes
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytecoin spike in price, market fluctuations? on: July 06, 2016, 01:53:35 PM

Bytecoin seems like a dead coin inferior to Monero which has surpassed it. What exactly causes a rise in value to jump like this?

https://bytecoin.org/roadmap/

It doesn't look dead to me.  Cheesy
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You've heard all this before.....but. on: July 05, 2016, 10:37:18 AM
"I'm telling the truth. "

Lol.

That's what all the scammers say, and normally if you're telling the truth then you don't have to say that.  However, what you said was so utterly retardedly obvious that nothing even needed to be said.  Good luck on the SHITCOIN.

Permission to call you retard forever if it rises 500% in next few days?
Well you can do that anyway without my permission,  lol, and I won't even argue.  But we'll see how your shitcoin does.

I would love to know what you think is a shitcoin. Such an easy way for the ignorant to label anything they didn't look into or understand....lazy thinking.

Call me nuts but if a GOVERNMENT (Dubai) backs a project as does probably the most luxurious hotel chain in the world, and companies like Deloitte and Unilever that combined are similar in size to Amazon (and they are just an example of early clients) I would argue the only shit around here is between your ears.  Shocked

Plus top 100 blockchain companies in the world, where most are bitcoin companies.

All you are doing here is pushing up the price - please stop it! I want to buy at 150 Sat.

You really are blind. Keep pumping this crapcoin.

600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Nem growing so fast? on: June 28, 2016, 08:33:14 AM
I am just amazed it raised in price in a couple of weeks? What's the reason, I don't see much nem news that can cause such a rise. I like nem but present growth feels like a pump? Or am I missing something others clearly see.

Because there is a growing consensus that token platforms like NXT, WAVES or NEM will be huge when the decentralised fiat gateways are ubiquitous.
