585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who uses "bits"? on: October 19, 2014, 12:04:47 PM
Everyone who uses bitcoin to date, are the geeks. That's just the way the world works. The early adopters are the ones who understand. It's the "normal" human beings who can't read 8 decimal places that have difficulty with this.

I think we all started as "normal" and through use, eventually became accustomed to 8 decimal places. Particularly if you have experienced playing with dice. (as in, those game sites that accept and bet fractions of a bitcoin.)

I don't know what the convention will be in the future, when we reach mass adoption. It will be easy for us to adjust, but for me, and many others, as well as the core developers, it started with 8 decimal places, and that's what we will be using for some time.

Im no geek and I understand most of the way bitcoin works haha.

589  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOIN Core(QT): It takes ages to synchronize wallet on: September 30, 2014, 07:09:27 PM
It depends of your internet speed as the QT has to download the data. I would suggest using electrum if you dont want to download everything.
590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why consumers are not adopting BTC on: September 30, 2014, 07:08:40 PM
Silk road was never more than a tiny fraction of the bitcoin economy. And it is still in operation, so I don't understand this argument.

It was actually a major fraction in terms of dollar equivalent used through the site back then.
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The transaction fee is just ridiculous. on: September 30, 2014, 07:08:01 PM
We are FORCED to pay a tax upon every transaction, and they say Bitcoin doesn't have any taxes? That's just pure crap. Taxation is unconstitutional theft via armed extortion. In Bitcoin's case, it's unavoidable, and is without the armed extortion (YOU ARE FORCED TO PAY).

$0.04 is a BIG tax huh? You pay 4 cents and you can send millions of dollars across the world for FREE! Think about it.

596  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best bitcoin casino? on: September 28, 2014, 04:15:56 PM
Which Casino offers the best odds? please respond with facts not opinions.

Peerbet raffles have a 0% house edge, though there are not many people playing it.
I am almost certain that no games offer a negative house edge (positive expected value for players).
No such things exists, why would they then run a casino site? To lose money?

Doesn't make sense, unless of course they got massive revenues from advertisements, to cover up the losses.

They do offer bonuses that bring the house edge in the minus sometimes. But never for always.
