581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From Mining to Gambling: A Rollercoaster Ride in the Crypto World on: November 29, 2023, 10:58:38 AM
I understand how you feel, especially when mining isn't that profitable anymore, there are few people that I helped to set their miners up and they bought the miners for passive income only, the idea of holding for long isn't in them, and when Bitcoin mining isn't that profitable anymore they decide to look for other means, they even start selling their miners.

In your own case OP, it seems you got tired of mining, just like these people that I helped, the mistake I see here is going for gambling when you can learn some else, something based on skills, which I believe will give better result than something that's all about getting lucky.

You choose the wrong niche, learn from it, and a piece of advice for you, it's better to be in mining right now than to stop mining, if you still have your equipment you better fire it up, because very soon, maybe after the bitcoin mining, you will see how profitable Bitcoin will be again, the value might be times three of what it is right now.
582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alleged Hacking Incident Tied to Bitcoin’s Massive 83.65 Bitcoin Fee Error on: November 28, 2023, 05:00:26 PM
.
Mononaut, the anonymous operator behind the mempool.space bitcoin explorer, weighed in on the incident. He suggested that “the most likely explanation is that the wallet was generated from bad entropy.” In layman’s terms, this means the wallet’s security was compromised due to weak randomization in its creation process. Mononaut’s insight provides a crucial understanding of the technical flaw that may have led to this unfortunate event.

Bad entropy has always cause hacks to large number of wallets, this is mostly because by users trying to randomly picking their own mnemonic words from the 2048 words, humanly selection are often not too strong randomization. Another cause of this problem is the use of online tools to generate one’s seed phrase which is said to use JavaScript instead of python. Sites like Ian Coleman’s use this JavaScript and that is why it is always best to use wallets like electrum or even bitcoin core to generate one’s seed.

Antpool In my opinion shouldn’t return the fee because that signing of message from that address doesn’t prove anything, it could be the hacker still playing his tricks.

Bottom line is one should stay from generating their own seed and also from using online tools for that. There is no reason to try and complicate things, keep it simple.
I lost some Bitcoin and ETH to scammers through iancoleman, I was till new and learning at the time and I did import my recovery seed into iancoleman because I need to get my hands on my private keys since the wallet I imported is a multi wallet.

I have gotten tired of all these hacks that I just give up on every crypto wallets out there except hardware wallets only, I like the part where to send any asset out you need your hardware wallet to confirm the transaction, so why should I keep using a software wallet especially the wallets that functions using the internet.

If you can keep your private keys offline then you are good but the chances of making mistakes is big, creating your crypto wallets offline and keeping it offline is the safest idea ever.
583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do I find a Balance Here? on: November 28, 2023, 04:05:11 PM
I don't get, how will one affects the other? You can continue to hold and still keep running your business, only your customers are going to pay you in Bitcoin and it's not even by force, or are you trying to do some discount that will cost you some money? Because I don't see how it will make things harder for you.

Even right now it's hard to get paid in Bitcoin, to send Bitcoin to another wallet is higher than using Fiat to pay for whatever you plan to buy, using bank transfer is cheaper than paying with Bitcoin, $3 compare to $0.005, this is the difference between using Bitcoin to settle a payment vs bank transfer using fiat in my country right now.

Anyways, do not stress yourself, go with whatever is within your power, there isn't much to make either when people pay you in Bitcoin, most people do it to spread Bitcoin awareness in the public.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase on the defensive about these bitcoin ordinal centralized meme coins on: November 28, 2023, 03:39:36 PM
Whether the masses like it or not, some projects will still do so well than our beloved Bitcoin, I have said this not once and not twice that it's a new opportunity in front of us, we don't like these new kids, I get it, but that doesn't stop them to achieve billions in market cap, it's left for you though, as for me, I am here to make some insane money and use that to buy the safest digital asset, Bitcoin.

Pyth will do well, Ordinals aren't going nowhere for now, even the shitty meme coins will all pump, but taking profits off the table is the ultimate goal for smart investors, at the end of the day, these profit are going into Eth and Bitcoin.

We are all here to make money, while we hold Bitcoin it's even wiser to make more money from other assets too, I have missed some good ones in 2020 and 2021 but I promise it's not happening anymore.
585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Authorities Are Not Smart Enough to Do This on: November 28, 2023, 02:56:21 PM
If not a matter of if, sorry I am not wishing bad for the country but since the beginning of time, this country have only enjoy improvement just once, that was when a general called Muritala took over presidency,  nothing in the history of Nigeria comes close to what this man achieved in a short period of time in power, my advice is all Nigerians should not hope and wait for some magical change to happen, fixing the country is now 100 times more harder than 20 years ago.

Since I was into crypto I have never use any centralised bank to make any payment that's related to crypto, even while the news of ban was circulating I was not worried a bit, and another thing is I don't keep money in the bank, assuming they block my bank account right now it does nothing to me, my assets are locked away in a offline cold storage anyway.

All hope is not lost for Nigeria but not until all mind becomes one there is never going to be a real change, when the poor ones start saying no to the people in power that's when things will start to take a turn, right now money still buy some people, in fact a lot of people, this is what is dragging down all sense of justice and growth in the country.
586  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: November 27, 2023, 06:06:33 PM
Sadly this is a big issue right now, those who have $10 -$20 dollars to DCA into Bitcoin every week can't do it right now, they will have to gather up the money for month before they can purchase some Bitcoin, the problem doing this is the value of Bitcoin after every month, what if it keeps going up while you waiting for every month ending?

I still advice someone to do this two days ago as this is the only way for people who have less money to DCA into Bitcoin every week, only $50 to $100 worth of Bitcoin is worth buying with $3-$4 transaction fee, or else you are going to keep wasting money on transaction fee alone, it's not encouraging for beginners at all.

Many beginners don't want to get their heads into things that seem complicated, learning about LN ( Lightening Network ) can be confusing for them, it's a matter of choice at this point but not everyone can go this path.
587  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: November 27, 2023, 05:19:43 PM
Insurance is not for everyone, not for people that are struggling to have food on their table, not for those who are struggling to get a job after making few degrees, this insurance of a thing doesn't fit very well in my country, most people don't have anything insured, we learn to survive with everything and not use insurance.

Insurance is very good to be honest, but what country are you from? In my country insurance sucks so bad here, as for me, I don't think I will need it, my insurance is my hardware wallet, all my money is locked away from the banks, and also the government, if anything happen I am used to starting over again, it's not the first time that I struggle from the scratch and make it right back up again.

To me I feel that life insurance is the best out of every insurances, when you are gone all of a sudden all your properties will get into the hands of your children, apart from this, it's a no for me.
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible to mine bitcoin with my laptop? on: November 27, 2023, 04:47:48 PM
I remember in 2021 bull market, some crypto miners can't get their hands on GPU anymore and they are forced to purchase laptops for mining, it was a beauty and crazy sight to see at the same time.

You will have to do research if there are new coins you can mine with a laptop CPU, but the value of such coin is what will determine the profit wise when mining, most coins turn profitable in a bull market when price increases.

The answer is NO, laptops can't mine Bitcoin and Yes, some coins might have algorithm that supports CPUs for mining.
589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What one change to Bitcoin can make it's adoption faster? on: November 27, 2023, 01:05:13 PM
Many believe that the adoption rate is very slow but others believe it's not, well, the truth is if the adoption rate of Bitcoin is very fast many who are seeing the present opportunities of buying Bitcoin right now wont be able to buy it, the higher the adoption rate the bigger the value of Bitcoin will be.

If you are here right now you are still early, judging with the world population, many people are still not into Bitcoin investment yet, I am kinda glad that the adoption rate is slow if that's what may think, because It will be hard to see Bitcoin bottoming at 17k, maybe the price will be so higher.

This is why I think that ETF approval will make things to feel different right after, the present opportunity might be the very last best, if truly the ETFs get approved, this will change everything, seeing better new lows in coming bear market won't be like the past anymore.
590  Economy / Services / Re: 🚧[CFNP] [banned mixer] | Bitcoin Mixer | Signature Campaign ~ Up to $130/week on: November 27, 2023, 06:16:05 AM
Finally, the t-shirt I ordered was finished and was quite satisfied with the results.

Using a black t-shirt, because I prefer black.

Making it with another design might be better
The front design looks super cool! The white color really stands out against the black canvas of the shirt, making it look brighter. For me, the choice of shirt color isn't a big problem, as long as the print color can complement the canvas it's on.

Can't wait for the management to take the next steps and bring this coinomize shirt idea. Hoping for some good news to drop soon!
This is a mixer service though, I am not sure its safe to wear this in the public or am I wrong? We all know what's going on with mixers in this centralized world right now, mixers should be private including everything about it, maybe I am wrong, I am fully open to advice.
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Closing Central Bank is Non-negotiable says pro-bitcoin Argentina Pres Milei on: November 26, 2023, 07:40:53 AM
I hope he knows what he is doing, as this path he chose to walk on can be a very bad idea for the people in that country.

All those who are happy about this because it's Bitcoin related, I want to ask you a question, what is here to be happy about? Is the people in the country going to start using Bitcoin as their means of payment? I think its a no, so what?

I believe they will have to go with US dollars or something else, but I need you all to think about the repercussions than the advantages, is he doing this rightfully? It seems the answer is still a no for me, but only time will tell.
592  Economy / Economics / Re: World changing and those who don't adopt this Will stay poor on: November 26, 2023, 07:01:41 AM
This is a well crafted story or prediction but thanks I am not buying it, and please erase that weird feeling that CBDC and the government can make anyone rich, I can promise you that they will prefer to ruin the lives of many if they can but thanks to Bitcoin they can't really do it, and if CBDC or the government comes out some day with their own blockchain I will pass, because I don't trust these people for a bit.

Even if CBDC goes blockchain, they can only back the Fiat currency, no one is ever going to get rich out of this, because it's stable coin or let's say fiat currency in the digital currency uniform, nothing special, nothing profiting from this, there is also nothing to call investment here.

You are the one that needs to do some research before making posts on the forum, you don't understand what CBDC is and you lack the information on what they plan to do, either it's going to fail or succeed, they won't be doing it for someone like me, like I've said before, I will pass.
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Helping family businesses and fulfilling dreams with Bitcoin. on: November 26, 2023, 06:29:00 AM
You are getting somewhere and there is still hope for you, I will also advice you to spend money on a hardware wallet, if you can spend up to $1300 on your fathers business you should be a hardware wallet owner already, get an open-source hardware wallet and start storing your assets on it.

Also it's not too late to start buying back the Bitcoin, even if its very slow you will still get there, this is a great achievement so far, something that many people still can't achieve due to one reason or another, you should be thankful.

Be proud of your achievement and develop the Zeal within you to carry on, we are still in a bear market and I believe that we still have enough time to buy and hold Bitcoin, it's not too late, it could be after Bitcoin halving but that's in April 2024, from now till that time is few months away, whatever you accumulate now can turn big by the end of 2024.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot games are a waste of time and money (most of the time) on: November 25, 2023, 03:36:35 PM
It's not a must to go with slots game, even if someone around you win in Slots you don't have to do the same thing, find the game that works best for you, sport is easily calculating than slots, it's you against the house and that makes you weak in every way, with sport it's a bit different, you are going to rely on the team and you are betting on their performance, not the same as a game running online and straight from people that you want to win money from.

I have my times with slots and my experience is roughly the same with yours, I don't always win most of the time and it's expected anyway, have you watch streamers? That will make you want to love Slots even more because they will be live and they will be making money as if it's that easy.

Do not trust the games that casino streamers are showing you on their live videos, your result will never be the same as their, so don't risk too much money on slots like they do, use only what you are ready to lose, at the end of everything gambling companies are the true winners of gambling, whenever you manage to win always consider taking your profits out, show no mercy.
595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Late To Invest In Bitcoin? on: November 25, 2023, 12:08:55 PM
It's a matter of choice, do you want to be part of the people that will come on here and talk about regression of missing Bitcoin at this present price? If anyone is too blind to see what's happening with Bitcoin right now I don't think they will ever be smart again..

It's very clearly that the present price won't be the same very soon, we are already in the phase one of the bull, we are just getting started, you should be buying right now instead of thinking about the right place to buy, the value might drop but use DCA on the long haul until the halving is over, be a smart investor or live to regret for not buying sooner.
596  Economy / Economics / Re: Economists advise caution in trading in Bitcoin currency on: November 25, 2023, 11:01:21 AM
Sorry to say this can't work anymore, if you believe in what you are sharing you are on your own, they are trying to strike fear in the mind of people to make them sell their Bitcoin, it was harder to see the future of Bitcoin when it was $100, I believe that Bitcoin have already fought the toughest battle and it won, if survived this long and now the institutional want every bit of Bitcoin, ETFs are on the verge of getting approvals, if Bitcoin was a joke all along it's decentralization would have failed, this part never failed me and Bitcoin is the problem solver of all these centralized problems, it's not hard to see unless you are blind.

It's 2023, I don't expect anyone to still have this type of mind set about Bitcoin, the worst times are already over, Bitcoin could have been stopped when it was new, people only need to ignore and not accumulate then it won't grow, Bitcoin is the real people's coin, I understand it's existence and it is solving the issue I have with the government and the Bank.

Tip: Next time always drop the link to whatever you are planning to talk about if you aren't the original person that crafted the story.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holders Hesitant to Sell Despite Price Surge on: November 25, 2023, 10:00:18 AM
Why should they sell? If they bought the bottom they should hold and we are in the bear market right now, it's accumulation phase and investors have gotten smarter than the past years, they know better now.

There is also strong confidence from investors, if ETF wants Bitcoin then its something worth buying and holding, I believe this is how many new Bitcoin investors must have feel.

There is a data that showed how many hardware wallets are been bought since FTX collapse, it's massive in number and that shows that people are finally learning, it's also why Binance issue with the CEO never affected the price of Bitcoin, this is just the beginning, people now seem to understand Bitcoin now than before.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Headline and Crypto Crackdown on: November 24, 2023, 12:00:49 PM
From the little information that I have gathered, Coinbase seem to more transparent than Binance and this adds more to the reasons why they can't trust CZ, they want someone they can control and trust that's why CZ have to leave, he is smart to take this decision instead of trying to prove stubborn, this will only net him some few troubles and maybe small time sentence compare to going to war with this people, I believe he knew that he can never win the battle, not with Capo and the Black Rock.

They are free to do whatever they like, I am not going to give my trust away to any of these people and entities, if they like they can clean the whole crypto space clean and take control but no one is really that clean, even these people will start using the crypto space to their own advantage after those that they hate are gone, in this space, only trust yourself.

Keep your Bitcoin away from these custodial companies, even if they are on the top taking over the world it doesn't stop bad things from happening, no one can keep your keys safe than you.

599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something you don't have to forget on: November 24, 2023, 11:01:28 AM
I know exactly how this feels, when something has no value we treat it like it doesn't matter, even now in crypto space I have lost access to few of my coins and I don't worry because they have no good value but imagine one day they end up have good value, that's where I will start to regret.

I have learnt to take this very serious, no matter how ridiculous the value of your assets might be right now do not think it's impossible for them to have good value some day, Bitcoin have already set a good numbers of lessons and only those who have ears will hear.

If we truly understand the benefits of Bitcoin maybe we would have handled how we keep or hold it in the first place? The same thing happened with Ethereum and I still don't learn, although it's not as good as Bitcoin but these two won't be the only golden opportunity in this space, let's be serious with our private keys and recovery seeds.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Often Do You Check Your Seed Phrase. on: November 24, 2023, 09:57:05 AM
Checking your recovery seed frequently can make you exposed your secret location to someone else, it makes sense only if you are living alone, if you are not living alone its a bad idea.

If you are living in a country where natural disasters don't always occur I don't see reasons to be very alert about the safety of your recovery seed, just make sure you keep it offline in a safe location and only to yourself, I don't always look back checking on my recovery seed like this, I don't see any reason why I will want to do so.

I still write my recovery seed in my old book and keep it far away from where fire can break out and got destroyed, in a whole year I think it's not even up to four times that I can set my eyes on my recovery seed again.
