I heard this last week one of our manager posted on our telegram group, i myself would not trust any third party software to keep my data, just like my saying a secret is not a secret once shared with a person, i would leak eventually, sooner or later, you're pc could be infected with a virus and stole your precious data, no one is safe forever, they could have been breaching that for a long time and finally the last defense falls and that goes your data to the black market.

587  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How come people spend days here? on: December 26, 2022, 05:02:15 AM
Hey all,

Although I have been interested and in and out of this forum for a about year now, it is only recently that I decided to get serious and learn and perhaps chat here to get more real insights from people with more experience and knowledge.

But one thing I noticed is that many people spend hours upon hours here, like really long hours, which made me think, like how come?

Do you guys make a living commenting and being here or are you really that passionate about web3/ crypto and blockchain?
If a person really want to learn, they will not waste time , they will spend more time on things that they want, and that is to be active in the forum, but I doubt that its a long hours since there is a certain limit on posting and interacting with other members, they may be spend more time reading post here in the forum, everyone has its purpose in what they are doing, and we can't just judge them, for those who spend their more time in the forum I think they had achieved a lot of things, kudos to those who never give up and just focus in their goals, Merry Christmas.,
588  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin My Best Chrismas Gift on: December 26, 2022, 12:07:23 AM
So I decided to put some smiles on my face this season by buying Bitcoin as a Christmas gift for myself.
yesterday I and my friend/colleagues went to a shopping market for some Christmas shopping we were 6 in number and we all went to the market after receiving our Christmas bonuses from work.

My colleagues bought some fine shoes and other expensive items/ wears for themselves and every one of them was expecting me to do some picking myself because we all agreed to go on group shopping but on our way to the market I already have a rethink and a change of mind.

I decided to spend my money buying myself some Christmas gifts which is Bitcoin instead of buying some expensive clothes or shoes I decide to carry the digital Gold BTC  in my wallet, instead of wearing shit that will soon get worn out.
That was a brilliant idea since bitcoin price is down, I would do the same since i can buy things some other time, and we can celebrate Christmas everyday if we want but, saving and investing sometimes needs timing and today is the best time, although you also need to buy yourself some gift, like what others say love yourself save or invest 60-70% of the money and use the remaining for other things food and other things, merry Christmas.
589  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Aren't FTX CUSTOMERS Victims? on: December 23, 2022, 09:30:56 PM
I dont really have anyone to talk to.. I lost my USD that I had saved up .. I kept it on FTX.US.  If I tell anyone who isnt into crypto.. they say im a loser for trusting crypto.. if I tell anyone else they say im a loser for trusting ftx.

Throughout the whole thing(3 years) I have worked a super low end job.. 14$ an hour.. but the business needs me and I am fairly happy.. But I would like a way to make money... I tried alot of different things but nothing has worked.... I am a sincerely good person.. I have some skill in programming.. but people constantly try to take advantage of me.. and im afraid.

Everyone is not perfect, we all make mistake sometime, but if you already saw signs that the coin is loosing its value and there were redflags already why you still hold it? it only means that you make one of the few mistakes others did following your emotions , instead of your mind telling you that you need to get out, crypto is an investment, but it does not mean that even the price falls down you will just ignore it, ill let it pass if its bitcoin , but its FTX so its on you, but never give up, invest again but now with caution and knowledge you acquire from this mistake.
590  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello Im new in crypto but i have idea on: December 23, 2022, 12:01:28 PM
Hi i tought that would be Nice to share with you the idea.
Crypto Are perfect way to provide escrow service for sellers buyers and other services.
For example: big city like London one person want to sell furniture but there is issue with trust so i tought i start to provide with 2% fee escrow service If we grow bigger then i can hire more people so that we can provide all kind of escrow service with crypto.

Yes there is some escrow services existing but i think it would be better to create one that is much better and everybody Will trust this service.

I figured that crypto can be perfect way to make it safe aswell and no third party distrubtion.

I think i can work allmost 24/7 enough to make this thing to work.

The more experinced and smarter guys here then i am could be the judge here over my idea.
The problem would be the taxes since London will put a percentage of your profit or gains , not sure how many percent but its a bit high, and will be monitored by the government so this will be not a good idea at the moment , proper regulation should be in place if we really want it to happen, i remember by brother in law, were given a change everytime he purchase something, change via in bitcoin, after 2021 he just told me he always throw those paper, he regret it today.
591  Other / Off-topic / Re: Always be confident on the forum on: December 22, 2022, 04:51:26 AM
OP has a good point , they listen to you, but in a point that you should make sure your statement has fact and you have check everything is fine, sometimes over confidence has some flaws, for example:
Because you are overly confident of what you were saying you believe that everything you say is true and has no mistake, but in reality there was flaws but you don't want to acknowledge it since other people may lost their trust in what you said.
I just want to add this one learn to acknowledge or accept mistake, be humble, and open for any suggestion in the forum, will make others believe in you since you can adjust and accept, correct your mistake without arrogant toward others.
592  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sometimes a good explanation is all it takes. on: December 20, 2022, 03:17:43 PM
After the FTX fraud spreads to every corner in my country my friends are saying crypto is the biggest scam of all, they said one day everything will reveal, this is coming from those that shows no interest in crypto at all even when I tried to confuse them but I did something right.

I sent them a message through WhatsApp explaining to them that FTX is not crypto, that FTX is a private company that people aren't supposed to trust because it's centralised but they do and in the end FTX illegally use their money for their own selfish interests.

Then I went on to tell them how crypto is very different to FTX, complete transparent and immutable is what crypto is compared to FTX and I was able to confuse two friends after this explanation, now they want to know more.

I have come to realize that many people bad mouthing crypto don't do a single research on the technology first ( complete disregard ) so I urge you to explain more to those ( friends and families ) that call or will call crypto a scam all in the name of what FTX did with customers' fund.
The scammers and a group of people who want's to control crypto currency make a bad image for digital currency, its not the coin, but the people behind them, coins have usecase but once this people decided to run with the money, everything about crypto is a scam for those who become a victim, so what should we do? as concern group of community we should educate this people and explain, what really happens, in this way we save the face of crypto, and help them realize that there is a good side of it, that will be good and profitable in the future.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 20, 2022, 03:05:46 AM

A very interesting fact:

Aussie boxer at the centre of cheating scandal ready to come out of retirement after 15 YEARS for a justice re-match against Manny Pacquiao

Quote
Aussie boxer Nasser 'Skinny' Hussein has hinted at coming out of a 15-year retirement for a re-match against Manny Pacquiao after recent revelations Filipino referee Carlos Padilla cheated during their last bout in 2000.

The WBC governing body released a sensational interview last week in which Filipino referee Carlos Padilla admitted to giving the hometown hero an 18 second count to get to his feet.

Source: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-11494055/Nasser-Hussein-ready-come-retirement-15-YEARS-match-against-Manny-Pacquiao.html

Interesting!
Though he is more likely going to lose in this fight and it's somehow unnecessary, but I don't see nothing wrong as well in reclaiming in what's supposed to be a win for him 2 decades ago.
https://youtube.com/shorts/oMoj4t4qxKA?feature=share
Here's a clip about the controversy.
Video is not mine, so all credits to the owner.
They could also use this controversy to sell this fight. I was not following this issue, but I don't know why the referee just exposed the kind of cheating. I don't think he's not aware that it could spark something that will make him pay for whatever he does before, regardless of the time passed.

Yes, that is what you say, they are things from the past and that can be misinterpreted, when they are videos of this style there is a lot of technology at the moment so that some type of editions, cheats or whatever can be done, for me you are things are always debatable, there are many videos that can be made, but I think that no matter how far they try to propagate a Pacquiao, they will not be able to take away his achievements, it is not easy to erase so many things that make him the Legend that today, However, it is always good to review all the things that can be said about him to somehow not have them as something very certain or that could be real.

The amount of his earnings from this fight is just a little portion of his wealth, so if he said that he will donate everything
then so be it.

Manny Pacquiao came from a poor family, so I believe he can relate to all the sufferings of poor people, that is why he is lending out his hands every time he has a chance to do so.

It could be too little compared to his total weight but it's already a big help for the poor. Manny is a people's champ because he has a golden heart, not only in boxing but in real  life. And guess what? even if his era in boxing is already over, he still continue to help people, so let's support his exhibition fights.

Good point and if you really know him and his good deeds, then supporting him with his new journey will help him to help those charities, I do believe that he's doing it to continue extending help, supporting him with whatever he will do is one of the best practices to also help those who are in need.

Part of your entertainment will be donated, and for sure Manny will bring that enjoyment each time he will step inside the ring.

Even if it's only an exhibition, he will show his fans the value of their money.

One of the things that I have always liked about Pacquiao is that, he has a big heart, he is a very complete boxer and also in exhibition fights they are very good and so good that it still causes that emotion in people and that Every moment they want to have more of the legend, Pacquiao's last fight was excellent, I think that everyone who attended was very satisfied with what they saw, it was actually a great demonstration of good boxing and great things that Pacquiao achieves when he sets his mind to it .

The fans are the ones who ask for his fights the most, no wonder, I think Pacquiao still has a lot of cartridges to burn.

pacman have still got some in his tank, but the main problem is the age i think, if you will look at how pilipino life is, at his age he should stop boxing lots of damage absorb by the body, the only thing that keeping him healthy is what he is doing in he's younger years, he's mind telling him he can still dot it, but he body wont take it anymore for sure , 8th division is one of the greatest achievement as a boxer not an easy task for others.
594  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any other danger apart from storing funds on exchanges? on: December 20, 2022, 02:24:19 AM
Why are people scared of centralized projects too? I thought keeping money in exchanges is the danger? I have Cronos and Sologenic in my wallet and I believe even with the going FUD they will bring me good profits or is there more that I should know?
one of the best example is FTX look what happen to the investors their money is now gone, people really need to understand that if you dont have control anything can happen, they can just get your money and there is nothing you can do about it, exchanges? look what happen to cryptopia and other coins, their money is there and there is nothing they can do but to wait, if their coin is going to be release to their real owner.
595  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kevin O'leary vs CZ on: December 19, 2022, 11:13:07 AM
Hey guys,

I haven't been following what is happening with CZ, but I know, Binance had issues recently with drawals, and I noticed a video where CZ was saying "Keyin is a dirty liar".

Anyone has full extent of what is happening? especially between him and Keyin?

Thanks in Advance
Kevin being paid by ftx so he's loyalty is to SBF and ftx and he is putting CZ in a bad situation on all of his statements on the media , that is why CZ is saying he is a liar.
596  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Bitcoin nodes? on: December 19, 2022, 01:19:16 AM
Please refer to we're I can join the discussion, or a any thread that have discussed this topic on Bitcoin node.
I know this may sound wired to some people but I am sure we have a lot of newbies like myself and even old members of the forum who will find this question appealing to their desire to know what a Bitcoin node is, and how it works in its right sense.

What is bitcon node?

What is it function in the Bitcoin network?

How can a novice get the best knowledge to successfully run a node?

What are the benefits of running a Bitcoin nodes on you personal PC?

How long does your computer need to remain active for a successful node operation?
I don't know why you need to ask this question but for your reference and guide here is the link:
https://bitcoin.org/en/full-node
if you are going to run a bitcoin node try to run it on a vps mostly nodes are run via this setup, where in you just need to buy it online with a certain specs there is a certain price for it , per year using pc would not be a good idea.
597  Other / Beginners & Help / Why people are always in a sinkhole situation on: December 17, 2022, 09:46:50 PM
Bitcoin is one of the most popular coin in cryptocurrency, with this lots of people fall victim to those coin with bitcoin like promises
Why do they are still taking advantages by this people and what are the reason? there is only one answer that i think most of us is sure, the promise of making high return in a short time, with people being in the situation of the pandemic that strike not only one nation but the whole world, this has become the most effective strategy for the scammers, imagine doubling or triple the money in the short period of time, since they are already on their last straw and want to get out in the current situation, they forget to think properly and this is how they were being take advantage, with social media and influencers, being paid by these people, they have become, popular without knowing their bad intentions, and the victim learn they had a mistake after they lost every thing.
598  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do not rely on your OS security on: December 17, 2022, 07:53:20 AM
have you install or happen to be downloading crack software on torrent site?
downloading crack versions will give high chances of being infected why? because we never know what they have put inside a software we have download
this is the problem of one of my client who loves using crack versions all of his computers have a miner, she don't even know, high specs computer but crawling to use.
as the technology improves so as the malware being deploy, if also you use normal browsing not going to a pornsites, or other sites that you know you are going to get infected that might be a bit safe, but better install antivirus, and make sure dont just click what pop up in the screen because its going to be disaster, sometimes its the user who put his/her computer into trouble 100% of the time.
599  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: December 17, 2022, 03:20:30 AM

If you have ever used a Bitcoin ATM before I need your attention, I want to know more about the installation, I have a blood brother who is into politics and we ve talked a lot about bringing crypto adoption to my people, my brother and I are thinking of installing an Bitcoin ATM machine for a start and see how it goes.

Also in the upcoming election if he wins he plan to add many more, I want to know if this is a good plan for a State with just a million people, I am also looking for a crypto coin that's less affordable that I can send to people just to teach them how to make transaction using their wallets.

I know security comes first but I just want to be prepared. I am starting this journey after Christmas. Any information and ideas are welcome
I think the main focus first is to convince leaders in your area to agree on the project deployment is easy once they support your project, if your mother wins they are the obstacle that you are going to face, you have to make them believe that it will be for good, the people will follow the leaders in your area, in some country you have to face the congress for such project same as yours presenting on them first is the priority, partnering for banks who use bitcoin ATM is easy, since they will profit.
