Inexperienced teams are finding it hard to win against experienced sides. Yesterday Afghanistan had Australia down to 91/7, but then Maxwell and Cummins took them to 293/7. And today Netherlands had England at 192/6. But then Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes took them to 339/9. It is a torture to watch the Dutch batting. Last time they had 5 of their batsmen runout in a single innings. And today also they started the same trend with a needless runout of Wesley Barresi. If they waste these chances, then they don't have any right to ask for more matches against full member nations. 

England have won just 1 match in the last 7 matches thus they are at the bottom position of the points table.  Netherlands is not a very good team they also lost most of their matches but Netherlands performance was better than England. England have batted first in today's match and their batting performance is looking very good so far England have scored 311 runs and they still have 2 more overs to play.  England can target Netherlands with 325+ runs. It will be a huge target for the Netherlands. So there is a lot of possibility that England can win today's match. Ben Stokes has collected the most runs for England and he is still playing. England's performance today is very good which can be attributed to their hard work and Netherlands' poor bowling performance.

This match is not important. Still, both teams will want to win. Bangladesh has won just one match in the World Cup. After winning the first match, the team lost consecutively. Bangladesh will want to be above England in the points table by winning this match.
Despite losing 3 wickets, Sadeera Rashen Samarawickrama and Assalanka are batting very responsibly. Assalanka remained unbeaten on 20 off 22 balls and Samarawickrama on 21 off 21 balls. Sri Lanka collected 108 runs in 19 overs. This is quite a good collection. Sri Lanka will collect more than 300 today if no wickets are lost.

I am also looking forward to watch the Afghanistan vs Australia match. This match is very important for both the teams. However, the Australian team is in a very good rhythm by winning the last 5 matches. At the moment, the chances of Australia losing against a team like Afghanistan are slim.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka today's match Bangladesh must win the match to play the championship. We all know that 2023 World Cup Bangladesh is not performing very well. There is no possibility for Bangladesh to play the semi-final. They have no choice but to think of today's match against Sri Lanka to basically play the championship. Our Bangladesh team batting line is very weak. So we have to stop Sri Lanka within few runs through bowling. If Sri Lanka can be stopped within 200 runs and if the Bangladeshi batsmen bat well, there may be a possibility for them to win this match today.

However, Sri Lanka lost three wickets. But looking at the condition of the pitch now I don't think it is bowling friendly. Big collections on this pitch will not be too difficult if the batsmen are able to bat responsibly. Sri Lanka quickly lost three key batsmen in the top order. The team collected 87 runs in 16 overs. They have collected an average of less than 6 runs per over. Spin bowlers have a chance to do well on this pitch. So today I am looking forward to see Miraj and Shakib's performance. Shakib has already managed to pick up the crucial wicket of Kusal Mendis. If these two bowlers can do well, maybe the Bangladesh team will be able to stop the Sri Lanka team before 300.

Both New Zealand and Pakistan are going to face weak teams in their last remaining group phase matches. New Zealand will be facing Sri Lanka, while Pakistan will face England. New Zealand has now lost 4 matches consecutively, although they were a bit unlucky in their last match. If there was no rain interruption, then they would have won against Pakistan. But then, they have only themselves to blame for the wayward bowling. Pakistan reached 200/1 after 25.3 overs, and as per the DLS laws, they were ahead and walked away with 2 points.

I was checking Twitter and came across tweet that mentioned India was dominant in prior world cup's group stages too (2015, 2019) however, in knock-out stages they choked. Let's see what happens this time around.

It will be a tough equation for Pakistan to qualify for the semi-finals as Sri Lanka is more likely to lose in the match against New Zealand. If New Zealand only win that match, they will be much ahead of Pakistan in net run rate. Moreover, if Pakistan wins against England, it will have to win by a big margin, which will not be an easy task at all. However, it is very difficult for Pakistan to pass the semis in this World Cup, but if New Zealand is defeated, the final equation will become much easier. So the only objective of Pakistan fans is to wish New Zealand defeat.

Four teams will play in the semi-finals where two teams are already decided and the remaining two teams are yet to be decided. Of the remaining two teams, I would place Australia ahead and Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan fighting for the number four position.  Afghanistan have performed very well but are unlikely to make it to the semi-finals. Pakistan's next match is against England while New Zealand's next match is against Sri Lanka. Pakistan win against England might be a bit difficult but New Zealand will easily win against England, in which case I will place New Zealand as the fourth team for the semi-final. As per my prediction, Australia and New Zealand will play the semi-final as the third and fourth teams.

India bowled out South Africa for just 83 runs in this match. I don't think it took as long as it took for you to post this to go all out in South Africa. South Africa's performance throughout the tournament was outstanding but in today's match I know why they played one of the worst matches in their World Cup history. However, a win or loss in this match will not matter for the two teams as both India and South Africa have qualified for the semi-finals before the South Africa match. The team that will be the opponent in the semi-final against India will not go to the final because the way India is playing they will definitely fight against any team from the semi-final to the final. I am happy that India won, but if the match was a more closing match, I would have enjoyed watching this match a lot more.

Australia has a 100% chance of qualifying for the semi-finals, but New Zealand or Pakistan are more likely to finish fourth. If New Zealand can beat Sri Lanka, they will go directly to the semi-finals. But if Pakistan can beat England by a huge margin, then there is a possibility of going to the semi-finals.

Asking other team to bat first on a batting friendly wicket is a suicide and looks like Pakistan has done the same with themselves today. Anything close to 350 will not be easy to chase and New Zealand is looking to get there easily with the start they have. Rachin Ravindra is about to make his half century and Kane Williamson who has come after a long time in the team, is also looking in good form.
